Moisturizers -Astara - Radiance renewal intense moisturizer
ginny133 5/3/2011 2:46:00 PM
I'm surprised that this renewal moisturizer received so little spotlight as the last review was 6 years ago! I ordered this cream along with the antioxidant infusion from Astara and I adore both of them! While the infusion is light and refresh, the renewal intense moisturizer comes in heavier texture for hydration but not greasy at all. I'm in Southern California and I feel this cream can be a good year round product, even I'm a normal sometimes oily skin. I like the infusion for its refresh and soothing texture, but when it comes to hydration it's simply not enough. With the renewal cream as the last step of my nightly ritual I feel my face is well moisturized and renewed. The scent is also very herbal and soothing. Highly recommend Astara products!

Treatments -Lancome - genefique
ginny133 4/27/2011 6:21:00 PM
I really gave it a a try but it didn't work for me. I bought it twice and returned them twice, finally giving up. My mom has been using it for a while and one day I saw her and was amazed by her glowing complexion, which she contributed to Genefique. I then ran over to the store and got the 1oz bottle at an exorbitant price at $78!!! Faithfully trying for bout 5 days and nothing, it did absolutely nothing for me besides my face looked smooth and snow white for like 5 minutes after I put it on. And that was about it. I didn't get the glow that I wanted it. I guess it might work wonderfully for others (such as my mom) but unfortunately not on me.

Lipstick -Chanel - Rouge Coco Shine #63 Rebelle
ginny133 4/27/2011 6:14:00 PM
A true ruby color! This is close to Monte Carlo but rubier! It shows up very sheer on my lips but with a lot of color payoff. It goes on smoothly and moisturizes like a lip balm. The color is perfect for a summer outing or even a formal dinner. Great color and don't let the red scare you. I promise it'll show up chic once you put it on.

Treatments -Astara - Antioxident Infusion

I absolutely love this moisturizer from Astara! I've been using it for a few days now and my skin is loving it. It's light in texture but it does well in hydration, perfect for summer time. At first I thought it might not be enough for me but my face does not feel dry afterward. The texture is very fresh and melts into my skin instantly while providing enough hydration. My face looks more even and glowing after putting this on.

Polishes -Butter London - All Hail the Queen
ginny133 4/23/2011 12:40:00 AM
This is my first butter London polish. It's a very elegant nude/ taupe color, that I would say will flatter every skin tone. It took me two coats to get the effect I wanted, but it glided on wonderfully. It comes with the sparkle but not chunky or cheap, and after I was done the application is so smooth and fresh. I highly recommend this color to every girl as it's a foolproof color perfect for everyday office setting as well as a classy dinner or even a wedding. Excellent!

Lipstick -Chanel - Rouge Coco Shine Monte Carlo
ginny133 4/22/2011 1:34:00 PM
I bought four colors from the Coco Shine collection and this is by far my favorite. It is a orange base lip color but shows up more strawberry on my lips. It is a perfect go to lip color when you don't wear lots of make up but want a hint of color to brighten up your complexion. The texture is sheer yet very moisturizing, and in my opinion it does last for a few hours without having to reapply. Marte Carlo is perfect a summer and I'd recommend this color to everyone!

Lipstick -Chanel - Rouge Coco Shine - Boy
ginny133 4/22/2011 1:28:00 PM
This is the first color I wanted to buy off the entire collection when it first came out. However when I sampled it on the back of my hand the color was very light and sheer so I got other bold colors instead, but still this color is lingering in my mind. Yesterday I tried it on my lips at a department store and I was more than surprised! I'm yellow undertone thinking this sort of light pink will darken my skin tone, but BOY I was wrong! The pink is so appealing on my lips and it brightens up my entire complexion. All you need is a hint of color from this tube and you look like you just wake up from an 8-hour sleep. It gives me that rosy and dewy look perfect for a sunny day, be it at work or a picnic at the beach. I totally fell in love with it! Try it ladies and DO try it on your lips to make a judgment.

Eye Shadow -Too Faced - Ooh & Aah Duo
ginny133 11/15/2010 7:46:00 PM
I really love this duo from Too Faced. The colors are simply amazing. They are silver gray and shimmering black from the pan but once on my lids they turn out to be this subtle silvery blue. I really love the colors! However, this shadow has MAJOR creasing problem! I put it on at 7am and by 10am the color on my crease is pretty much gone, only the color on my lids is still visible. I'm really disappointed at the staying power of this shadow duo. I might try putting on some primer next time and see if it'll last longer.

Palettes -Kat Von D - Ludwig Palette
ginny133 11/3/2010 1:14:00 PM
I finally got my hands on KVD eye pallets. The colors are so beautiful, very pigmented with shimmering, which doesn't bother me. The texture is silky smooth, highly blendable to create different looks. This morning I used the green tones by highlighting the eyelids with Clay (shimmering beige), smudged my crease to 2/3 of my lids with Dimebag (lime green), then a coat of Orbi (green shimmer) on the crease. The results were just amazing! The greens are so beautiful when I layered them and totally makes my look go up a notch. Am going to try the other side of the colors, which is in brown tones. However I did notice there was some fallout during the application, and the brushes that come with it do not work as they did not pick up enough products. And the case is a bit flimsy so I wouldn't recommend travel with it unless you have good protection. But overall, I'm very satisfied with this pallet for the color payoff and will try others!

Eye Shadow -LORAC - Starry-eyed Baked Trio Evening Star
ginny133 11/2/2010 2:38:00 PM
Love love love this eye trio from Lorac! Recently I was addictive to eyeshadows and have been buying all the major brands, Lorac being one of them. I've already tried her baked eye trio in "Rockstar" and "Star Studded" and I love them both! This morning I finally had my hands on "Evening Star", the metallic silver/gray tone from the collection. At first I was not sure if I could pull it off as it's a tough color for day time, but I did it! The colors turned out to be this shimmering gray with a strong blue undertone which would look stunning on everyone. And the trio is no brainer - Highlighted with the silver shimmer on the entire eyelids, smudged with the main gunmetal gray on the crease, finished by dabbing the rich smoke color. The results were just amazing! The colors showed up on my lids more in teal/blue rather than gray/black. I've been looking for grayish black shadow like this and am glad I've found it!

Blush -LORAC - Powder blush in Soul
ginny133 11/1/2010 2:30:00 PM
Agreed with the other reviewers here, that this is the most natural wearing blush that can give me a warm glow and color closest to my natural blush. The color looks very dull from the pan, which I'll never pick it up, not even for sampling, if not for the rave reviews here. I tried it last night at Sephora and oh my the color totally transformed once I put it on my cheeks! It is a subtle and very natural warm color that's perfect for everyday look. This morning I picked up my Croc Pallet and so glad this blush is part of the collection. I dusted it on my cheeks a few times but the colors showed up way too intense. I guess the color is very pigmented but shows up so dull at the pan so I was fooled by it. So I wiped away the powder a bit and there I was, the most natural and elegant cheek color I've ever created. Thank you Lorac and I'll be trying your other products I am sure!

Eye Shadow -LORAC - Starry-Eyed Baked Trio in Star Studded
ginny133 11/1/2010 2:18:00 PM
This trio comes with the most beautiful green I've ever seen. The main color is an olive green color that will flatter every girl. I bought it simply because of the green color. The other two are highlighter and a muted peach color, nothing special there. But Lorac's eyeshadows make so much sense in color combination so once you put it on the resuls are always amazing. The green really makes my eyes pop and I can do a subtle day time look or a smokey eyes depends on the occasion. This eye shadow is so versatile and I'm sure I'll be wearing them a lot. If you are like me who likes blue/green/teal tones this is the one to pick up. Lorac would never disappoint you believe me!

Eye Shadow -LORAC - Starry-Eyed Baked Trio in Rockstar
ginny133 11/1/2010 2:10:00 PM
Lorac stands for quality and this applies to all her eye shadows. I've tried her singles, trios, and pallets and none has failed me so far. Her eyeshadows are very pigmented, creamy in texture and easy to blend. I picked up the baked trio in "Rockstar" at Ulta last week because of its beautiful color combos - white pearl/teal/dark shimmering gray. Tried it over the weekend and totally loved it! I used the white pearl as overall highlighter, smudged the teal as main crease color, then dabbed the dark gray to accentuate my eyes. The results were amazing! The colors made my eyes pop and enlivened my look. The colors are very shimmering so it works for both day and night time look. I was out and about the whole day and the colors were still there when I got home, even though they did get faded a little bit because I have oily eyelids. But all in all I love the baked eye trios and have purchased 3 more colors to play with!

Eye Shadow -BeneFit Cosmetics - Creaseless Cream Shadow/Liner-BIRTHDAY SUIT
ginny133 11/1/2010 1:56:00 PM
Again, this only shows up a very light coat of shimmer on my lids just like "Flatter Me". It's just a primer to me, not an eye shadow. I thought this will show up beautifully as it did on the back of my hands. Very disappointed and will have to return it as I don't want to spend $20 for a primer.

Eye Shadow -BeneFit Cosmetics - Creaseless Cream Shadow/Liner - Flatter Me
ginny133 11/1/2010 1:54:00 PM
I had really high expectation of this cream eye shadow from Benefit, as I've been looking for a long wearing shadow in lighter color I can wear to work on lazy days. This one did not do it for me. First of all, it was very hard to scoop the product from the pot, and once I finally got a thin film onto my lids the color did not show up at all. It is just way too sheer, like a primer. I was very disappointed as I thought this one will cut it for me. So it'll go back to the store unfortunately and I'll be trying the darker colors like Strut and Tidal Wave. Hopefully I'll have better luck with those more pigmented colors.
