Conditioner -The Body Shop - Banana Nourishing Conditioner
rated 4 of 5
enydonus 5/13/2013 1:00:00 PM

It's a pretty good "natural" conditioner for every day use. I find it works better on my very long, highlighted, dry, curly hair than most high end conditioners (with ~3 exceptions). It smells like ripe bananas, delicious, pleasant, and fresh. I do find that it leaves my hair very shiny and in good condition without any build up or residue whatsoever. It doesn't weigh down my giant mass of fine fragile hair at all. I love it when I want to give my hair a break from all the silicone, styling, and general product overload. That being said, it's not super moisturizing and I do pair it with a leave-in conditioner. It's around $6CAD, I tend to stock up when The Body Shop has a sale.

Cleansers -Bioderma - Sensibio H2O (aka Crealine H20 Solution micellaire)
rated 5 of 5
enydonus 5/13/2013 12:23:00 PM

Love. It's a lot less messy than using an oil to remove makeup. I also like that I can dip a q-tip into it to remove bits of mascara that get onto my eyelid without disturbing the rest of my makeup. It's gentle enough to use every day and strong enough to take off waterproof mascara. I also love that the ingredients don't include parabens or -cones. Now if only all the other women in my city didn't like it as much ;) I might be able to find it on store shelves again. This product definitely deserves all 5 lippies.

Cleansers -Bioderma - Sebium H2O
rated 3 of 5
enydonus 5/13/2013 12:16:00 PM

Usually I'll use a micelle solution to remove mascara before using a cleanser to take everything else off then finish with either a toner or more micelle solution. I ended up buying this one, for combination/oily skin, because the one for sensitive skin has been sold out in my area for 3 months. It's about $22CAD for 250ml. Unlike the Sensibio, this irritated my skin and left skin dry with a mild burning sensation. Using it with a cotton pad felt like it was scraping me. The sensitive skin one is still sold out so I've given up on Bioderma for now and switched back to Avene and Caudalie :/

Eye Shadow -MAC - Eyeshadow in Mystery
rated 4 of 5
enydonus 5/13/2013 11:32:00 AM

At first, I wasn't sure about this shadow, it's a great dark neutral brown but it's sheer and can be quite patchy. I have come to love it tho and use it almost every day. It doesn't kick up a lot of dust when used, isn't noticeably powdery, and doesn't fall down onto the face. The sheerness of it means that I can use it to fill in my greyish dark brown eyebrows without it looking too warm, dark, or obvious. I also like to use it as a liner during the day since black looks way too harsh on my very pale complexion. The subtle plummy grey tones bring out the light green in my hazel eyes. On the eyelid, it pairs beautifully with Patina, subtly darkening the outer V. It is my HG unique dark brown. The main downside is that, due to the patchiness, it doesn't work well on its own or even used with a pencil brush under the eye. It needs a good base to adhere to or to be applied wet for it to appear more consistent and opaque.

Conditioner -Joico - Color Endure Conditioner
rated 4 of 5
enydonus 5/9/2013 12:40:00 PM

It's a pretty okay conditioner. Good for coloured hair. Not overly moisturizing. Leaves a bit of residue but nothing heavy. Untangles my hair pretty well, leaves it looking shiny and nice. I use this in conjunction with a weekly moisturizing treatment since my hair is naturally quite dry and curly. If you have normal, dyed hair and need a daily conditioner, this one is good. The smell is very sweet and artificial, it can make me nauseous when it seeps into my pillowcase but I'm sensitive to some perfumes. I have multiple chemical sensitivities and this doesn't set them off in any other way.

Conditioner -Unlisted Brand - LaCoupe Awapuhi Damage Repair Conditioner
rated 1 of 5
enydonus 5/9/2013 12:28:00 PM

They should really call this damage exacerbating conditioner. Godawful. I'm creating this review as a warning so that you can avoid the dry frizzy roadkill hair that it gave me. Not only that, it stripped out my fresh $230 highlights and left me with orange-y obvious streaks. Take note, Behentrimonium chloride, the third ingredient in this, is an irritant. Afterward I couldn't even get a widetooth comb through my hair. Had to very carefully braid it, return the conditioner, and pick up ye ol' Joico reconstruct. My hair is slowly recovering.

Gross. I bought the one in the new white packaging. It delivers, I do feel pretty dumb for buying it without checking makeupalley.

Left my super long, dry, untreated hair a knotted sticky matte mess. Smells like cheap cologne.

Conditioner -Suave - Naturals Tropical Coconut Conditioner
rated 4 of 5

As a teenager, this was the best thing ever for doing the Curly Girl method. It's really thin so I could use it for co-washing. It also worked well as leave-in whenever I ran out of Giovanni or ABBA (under homemade Flax Seed Gel). If you have curly hair but no access to targeted curly hair products, definitely give this a shot. I don't find it moisturizing enough to use alone on dry, chemically processed hair. I don't think that it's colour-safe as it doesn't claim to be.

Conditioner -Joico - K-Pak Color Therapy
rated 4 of 5
enydonus 5/6/2013 1:09:00 PM

I went through a couple litres of K-Pak Color Therapy conditioner and just ran out about a week ago. It left my hair strong, very shiny, bouncy, and generally gorgeous. It is hands down one of the top 3 conditioners I have ever used. The smell is really strong, not entirely unpleasant tho. Unfortunately, my skin didn't feel the same way about it. My skin became less and less tolerant to all the silicone. I broke out all over my scalp, chest, and back... still recovering. Obviously, my skin going to hell didn't deter me. I just kept my hair tied up in the shower and exfoliated really well (didn't help much). Oh well. In the past week I've gone through a different brand of conditioner each day and have had no luck replicating the good results. It will work fabulously for you if you're not sensitive to dimethicone.

Treatments -Joico - k-pak deep penetrating reconstructor
rated 5 of 5
enydonus 5/5/2013 9:25:00 PM

Can't live without it. My hair has been through hell and back over the years and nothing else has been able to make it feel strong and normal. When I was in my teens I did try out almost every treatment Sally's offered but they didn't really do much for the state of my fried melty hair. Even tho all I get done now are semi annual highlights, I still run out and buy this after every bleach session to return my hair to a strong, silky, "healthy" state. Now, as a side note, you're really supposed to balance out protein with moisture when caring for damaged hair. Always follow up a strong protein targeted treatment with a moisturizing conditioner and/or treatment. You can tell what your hair needs by how it reacts. If it stretches, snaps, and/or stays extremely stretched and distorted, it seriously needs protein. If it's brittle, dry, and frequently breaks off, it needs more moisture. After any chemical processing, it needs both. I use this after a light cleanse to get leave-in products off my hair, saturate the hair with the treatment, wrap up my hair and leave it to soak in while I do other things for a couple hours, rinse, and then use a moisturizing conditioner (Joico also makes a moisturizing balm treatment). My hair is gorgeous for a couple weeks after doing that. It works within 5-10 minutes for some of the other reviewers here but I don't notice the same effect if only left on under an hour. ...Joico is reformulating this and I'm a little scared.

Moisturizers -Live Clean - Fresh Face Soothing Daily Moisturizer
rated 5 of 5
enydonus 5/5/2013 9:05:00 PM

Love it. This quickly became my daily moisturizer. I apply it when my skin is still wet from cleansing since my skin gets very tight, irritated, and dry otherwise. It provides just enough moisture to keep my skin matte, smooth, and happy on its own for the longest of any other moisturizer I've come across. Most others become greasy looking, itchy, dry up, or start feeling altogether gross. On a long sunny day, I do end up reapplying, layering right on top without another cleanse and it's back to smooth, matte, and happy! Underneath primer, matte, and/or drying foundations, I do find that it's just not enough to keep my skin from flaking and caking up. I use a heavier moisturizer and sometimes heavy serums to keep my foundation smooth. Fortunately, I don't often wear foundation at all since my skin's been doing great with this moisturizer and light concealer :)

Shampoo -Live Clean - Pink Fire Colour Protect shampoo
rated 4 of 5
enydonus 5/5/2013 8:54:00 PM

Definitely one of the best Live Clean shampoos. The packaging on this one is a little irksome but the product is amazing. It doesn't leave a residue, doesn't strip colour at all, doesn't leave my long hair tangled, and doesn't have a cloying artificial scent. That being said, the first bottle of this I ever purchased had gone off on the store shelf so the smell was slightly off; one or more of the natural oils had spoiled. I've found that this can happen with any of the LC products if stored in sunlight or kept around for a few months. It still works well and still smells good once it's rinsed out. Honestly, it's refreshing to know that it can spoil, that it is in fact natural and not packed with preservatives.

Shampoo -Live Clean - (Apple cider)- clearifying shampoo
rated 4 of 5
enydonus 5/5/2013 8:45:00 PM

I used this shampoo once a week to remove buildup on my hair from hard water and oily products. While it's somewhat (useless) for -cone buildup, it was great at removing oil buildup, cleaning my scalp, and left my hair feeling clean without feeling stripped. It is somewhat drying, being a clarifying shampoo but it's still pretty good. It smells like delicious apple cider. It is perfect (once a week) for combining with other sulfate-free shampoos that don't rinse clean.

Conditioner -Live Clean - Exotic Shine Bali Oil
rated 3 of 5
enydonus 5/5/2013 8:38:00 PM

Out of all the Live Clean products, I like the scent of the Bali line the best. Unfortunately, my hair is very dry, long, and breakage prone and this just didn't deliver much moisture. It left a bit of a residue and felt quite heavy on my hair but the ends were still dry.
