Lip Gloss -MAC - Lustreglass - Sinnamon
cosmeticaholic 7/20/2011 8:54:00 PM
I just got this shade yesterday and I absolutely love it. I actually went to the MAC counter to buy the shade called Wet, Wild, and Wonderful, but when I saw it in person, it was a little too coppery on me, so I browsed through all of the gloss shades and this one called Sinnamon caught my eye. I bought it and it is so pretty. It's an icy-bronze...has shimmer, but not overly glittery....looks pretty on it's own or paired with a nude/pink lipliner. I like to do my eyes smokey with different shades of chocolate browns and this is a nice soft pearly-sexy sheen on my lips. What I really like about the shade is that it's not too cool or too warm, so I can do smokey eyes in any shades really and it will go. I also left the MAC store with Viva Glam VI lipgloss and Point Black Liquid Liner...I was a very happy customer yesterday.

Eye Primer -Bare Escentuals - bareVitamins Prime Time Eyelid Primer
cosmeticaholic 5/30/2008 10:34:00 AM
Although an e/s base is not the most exciting product to write a review on, I decided to put my two cents in and write a review on this fabulous primer! I've tried many e/s bases in the past and this one has to be the best one - at least in my experience at keeping my shadow in place all day and into the evening hours with no creasing. My shadows look perfectly applied even 12 hours later. I also like the soft beige color of the primer for hiding any discolorations on the eyelids and when I am in a rush in morning and don't have time to play with too many e/s colors, I just apply this base, dust a light e/s on top such as MAC Shroom, or BE's Nude Beach or Vanilla Sugar, add a coat of mascara and a little liner and my eyes are good to go for the rest of the day, especially at the office when I don't have time at work to reapply my shadow. If you haven't tried this product, give it a try!

Palettes -Bare Escentuals - Get Started Eyes, Cheek, Lip kit Light to Medium
cosmeticaholic 5/11/2008 12:26:00 AM
I just received this 8 piece kit in today's mail and I am very pleased with these shades. While the shades don't look all that exciting at first glance, once on the eyes, cheeks and lips...you glow! The three shades for eyes are: Glimpse in Cream Soda, an ivory gleam, Glimpse in Rapture, (BE describes this shade as an autumn mauve) and Eyeliner shade in Tiger's Eye, a copper wood. The blush shade is so pretty...it's called First Class and it's a pretty shade of a warm rose pink and makes your cheeks glow (but not glimmer)....Buxom Lipgloss in Sugar which in my opinion, is a perfect shade of "my lips but better". Also comes with a smaller version of the angled face/blush brush - perfect sized head for getting into the smaller pot of blush, doubled ended eyeshadow/contour crease brush and an ultra thin eye liner brush. This kit is perfect for everyday polished look, neutral enough to go with everything and if you want to glam it up for night time, I would suggest, just adding a bit of black or deep navy or hunter green eyeliner and smoking it under the lash line...add 1-2 coates of mascara and you're good to go! Great for travel and perfect for those mornings when you're in a rush and don't have time to decide what shades to wear with what clothing. It takes a while to use up BE products, but when I finally empty mine out, I'm definitely getting full sizes of everything. This kit along with their foundation/mineral veil will save me a lot of time in my early morning rush! Thank you BE :)

Makeup Brushes -Bare Escentuals - Heavenly Face Brush
cosmeticaholic 3/1/2008 10:56:00 PM
This is the brush that BE really should consider doing their infomercials with when advertising their mineral makeup foundation. I've been using BE m/u for 4 years now and I have just about every brush they sell, however, I was getting a bit tired of that scratchy feeling on my face when applying the foundation. I would use their flat maximum coverage concealer brush to dip into the minerals and gently buff onto any discolorations, blemishes, etc., but then I would use the handi buki to buff in everything and that scratchy feeling doesn't leave one feeling flawless and beautiful......until today...when I purchased the Heavenly Face Brush...it makes all the difference at least to me in application. It's so gentle and soft on the skin and yet it holds the minerals well while buffing them in. This brush is worth every penny and I'm so glad I purchased it. My skin now does look flawless. If you've been hating BE brushes...you should get this one...it's worth it!

Eye Shadow -L'Oreal - HIP Color Rich Creme Crayon
cosmeticaholic 6/30/2007 10:45:00 AM
Very good quality for a drugstore e/s...works much better than my MAC Shadestick. There is no tugging on the eyes while applying. It goes on creamy, blends well and stays put! Excellent on it's own or as a base for powder e/s to adhere to. The outside packaging is similar to MAC Shadestick except this product has a built in sharpener at the one end which is nice to have. Open the cap, swivel it up and the tip appears as a Crayola Crayon type. I purchased the shade called Meticulous which is a really pretty shimmery bronze shade. I would definitely repurchase and look forward to trying some other shades as well. Runs about 9.99 at CVS, but worth the price to me. I've been using for a couple of days now and no allergic reactions...so Kudos to L'Oreal for this wonderful d/s find! If anyone out there has had no luck with MAC shadesticks - give this one a try, you'll be pleasantly surprised!

Eye Shadow -Bare Escentuals - Glimmer- Queen Tiffany
cosmeticaholic 5/21/2007 9:28:00 AM
Queen Tiffany should be a staple in every makeup bag! It's one of those shades that looks stunning on any eye color. I always get compliments on how pretty my eyes look when I wear this shade. Here's how I wear it (FYI - I'm a NC25, dark brown eyes, dark brown hair)...Queen Tiffany all over lids up to brow bone. I then highlight the innercorners of my lids with BE e/s in Soul and also highlight the browbone with Soul e/s (if I really want a shimmery eye - then instead of Soul e/s, I use Nude Beach glimmer). Then I use BE shadow in Tan Lines in crease, wetline Patio Party liner on upper lash line, wetline Sailor liner shadow just in outer corners underneath lash line and add 2 coats of black mascara. Love!!!

Eye Shadow -Cat Cosmetics - Frisky
cosmeticaholic 3/18/2007 3:22:00 PM
This shadow makes my brown eyes come to life. I don't think it is that frosty as other reviewer's have mentioned. It's much softer than Stila's Kitten - that is too frosty for me. I love to pair Frisky with cat's other e/s called Tabby in the crease and then I line my eyes using cat's e/s in Illusion. I highly recommend this shade.

Eye Shadow -Stila - Starlight Eye Shadow
cosmeticaholic 11/3/2006 12:43:00 AM
This is the HG Shadow for when you need to look more awake! It's an instant pick-me-up for my dark brown eyes, especially if I didn't get much sleep the night before. Just using Starlight as an all over wash on lids to browbrone, add a little eyeliner and mascara and you have all you need as an everyday eye look.

Eye Shadow -Mally Beauty - Nolita Navy
cosmeticaholic 9/6/2006 11:15:00 PM
What a fabulous kit to make brown eyes pop! The highlighter shade is a matte nude/pinky peach shade. The middle shade is a beautiful ocean blue shade which is more matte than shimmer and the deep liner shade is a midnight blue w/some shimmer. I used this kit for the first time this morning and I love it. I intermixed using my Brownstone kit with this one. I used the highlighter shade from the Navy kit all over lids up to brown bone, then I used the middle shade from the Brownstone kit on my lids, used the middle shade from the Nolita Navy kit in the crease and used the deep midnight blue liner shade from the navy kit under lash line and smoked it out; added some black mascara and my dark brown eyes were popping. I used a soft lipgloss in the shade of Bobbi Brown's Rose Shimmer lipgloss since I did a smokey eye look. I got a lot of compliments today on my eyes.....if you've had any doubts about ordering this kit...don't.....you won't be dissapointed....order now!

Eye Shadow -Mally Beauty - Midtown Merlot
cosmeticaholic 9/5/2006 3:07:00 PM
Let me start with the cream to powder base first. The base in the Merlot kit appears slightly lighter than the base in the other e/s kits which is a little bit darker tan shade. I actually like the lighter primer anyway as it's not as orangey in this kit as the others. The highlighter shade in this kit is very similar to the highlighter shade in the Plum Chelsea kit - sort of a peach toned Champagne, however the one in the Merlot kit goes on more smooth than the one in the Plum kit. Now, the Middle/lid shade...very different from the plum kit. The one in the Plum kit is a true purple - think Barney the Dinosaur (sorry for the image, but that shade of purple is the Shade in Plum Chelsea); The Middle/lid shade in the Merlot kit is exactly that....Merlot/Chianti shade -not too red, not pink...there is a hint of brown in them which is the key to not having that pink eye look. The Deep shade in the Plum kit is an Amethyst shade, while the the deepest shade in the Merlot kit is a very deeper shade of Merlot w/hint of brown in it. I love both, but now that I have both...I would get more use out of the Merlot kit becuase you can wear these shades with almost any outfit/coloring, whereas the Plum Chelsea is more wearable for Plums/Pinks only. Hope this helps!

Huge Rave for this brush set from cat cosmetics. If you haven't already purchased this tiny brush set that packs a lot of punch...you need to click "add to cart" immediately....this brush set is wonderful, portable, reasonably priced (65.00)...9 brushes...it's very compact, however, you get precision application - I own MAC, Bobbi Brown, Sephora and Smashbox brushes.....this little brush set rocks with the best of them!

Eye Shadow -Cat Cosmetics - Anonypuss
cosmeticaholic 7/11/2006 4:38:00 PM
This is described as a matte warm khaki-brown shade on Cat's website. I got it today in the mail and it's fabulous. It's a dark grey toned khaki brown - not as silvery as MAC's Satin Taupe and not with shimmer, but it's fabulous for cool-toned girls and it would also be great for warm skinned toned girls as well. I used it today as a lid color and blended it with Cat's e/s in Buff to tone it down just a bit, then I used Cat's e/s in Illusion in the outer crease and dry-lined Anonypuss under lash line and smoked out. Added some black mascara and I was a purring kitty! Very happy! I ordered this as a refill for my 6-well palette. Get this one...purrrrfect!

Eye Shadow -Cat Cosmetics - Buff
cosmeticaholic 7/11/2006 4:32:00 PM
A new shade and a winner! This is a cream/champagne color with a hint of white to it and it looks beautiful paired with e/s in Illusion (a chocolate fudge shimmer shade) and also Anonypuss (a dark matte khaki-brown shade). Perfect as an allover wash as well. I ordered this as a refill in my 6 well kit. A staple shade for everyone's kit.
