Mascara -Avon - SuperMagnify
cocobunny 11/6/2010 10:30:00 PM
This mascara lengthens very well and makes my Asian lashes probably the longest I've ever seen them. It also didn't smudge on my oily eyelids which is a plus. However, Cover Girl Lash Blast lengthens, separates, AND makes my lashes look fuller, whereas SuperMagnify only lengthened (albeit well.) It also had a tendency to clump if not applied well, and did nothing for fullness. Plus, this irritated my eyes and made them red (people kept asking me why my eyes were red the first day I wore it.) I gave it a couple weeks to see if it was just my eyes acting up or the mascara, but after switching back to Lash Blast recently, my red eyes went away. If you are looking for a lengthening mascara and don't have sensitive eyes this could work for you, but just be warned that it did make my eyes red and no eye makeup has ever done that to my eyes before.

Gels/Soaps -St. Ives - Oatmeal and Shea Butter Body Wash
cocobunny 6/4/2010 4:01:00 AM
I have used Dial Antibacterial Body Wash for years just because I felt like it was the best product that could clear my body acne, but after a very frigid winter I really needed something more moisturizing. This body wash is so moisturizing that I barely need to use a body lotion after I step out of the shower. Smell is pleasant yet faint, price is awesome (and is often on sale), but best of all... this body wash has somehow managed to completely clear my body acne. Which totally wasn't my intent in using it, but I'll take it anyway! Everyone comments on how soft and smooth my skin is and I only have MUA to thank again for pointing me in the right direction of something I probably would have never tried if not for the reviews here. After about half a year of using this I can safely say this has become my new HG body wash.

Scrubs -Neutrogena - Oil-Free Acne Stress Control Power-Clear Scrub
cocobunny 6/4/2010 3:46:00 AM
Believe the hype. After my former HG cleanser (Neutrogena Visibly Even Foaming Cleanser) became extremely hard to find in stores, I picked this up based on the rave reviews on MUA. At first glance, this seems like any other ordinary anti-acne product from Neutrogena that won't work, but for some reason this scrub works extremely well. The little beads aren't rough at all which is great, yet it still exfoliates well. I've used this consistently for over a year now and my skin has never been softer. I can honestly say that when I don't use this cleanser, I break out more, so I know that this product really is helping to prevent breakouts. This has gotta be the most unlikely of heroes I've ever used in a product, and I can only thank MUA for pointing me to this scrub because I know I wouldn't have bought it otherwise being the Neutrogena anti-acne product skeptic that I am. And it even won that "Allure" award... who would've guessed?

Gels/Soaps -Phisoderm - Anti-Blemish Body Wash
cocobunny 4/19/2009 2:39:00 PM
I started using this a couple months ago in an effort to have clear body skin by the time warm weather rolled around. After two months of using this on a daily basis, I still have acne on my chest and back and it is now time to wear tank tops and bikinis. In fact, my acne has worsened a little, but to be fair, I think it's because I stopped using Dial body wash which had been working decently for me, not because this Phisoderm wash exacerbated my acne. Moreover, the consistency was too runny and annoying when it spilled out of the bottle every time I opened it. I am giving this two stars because it didn't leave my skin dry and it smells good, but when it came to helping my acne, this product underperformed.

Eyeliner -Almay - Amazing Lasting Eye Pencil
cocobunny 12/28/2008 11:35:00 PM
I have really oily eyelids, and I was hoping this would solve my problems with eyeliner rubbing off but it didn't. Revlon Colorstay did a much better job staying on my eyes... and when Colorstay smudged, it flaked off which isn't too noticeable. With the Almay eyeliner, it literally left my eyes a black smeary mess just a couple hours after applying. The only thing I liked about the eyeliner was its soft consistency and how it glided across my eyes without tugging, but that is probably why it is so prone to smearing so easily. Will not repurchase.

Conditioner -Dove - Shine Therapy w Repairing Serum
cocobunny 11/27/2008 1:00:00 AM
I was using the matching shampoo with another conditioner, but when that conditioner ran out, I went and got this and was blown away by the quality of it. First off, I don't particularly care for the scent of the shampoo, but this conditioner smells great! I was really impressed by the quality and how smooth and shiny my hair looked after using this with the shampoo. It's probably the first time that I felt as if the matching set of shampoo and conditioner truly worked well together... it doesn't weigh your hair down and imparts SO much shine into my jet black hair. And at the drugstore price and availability that Dove offers, this is very hard to beat.

Concealers -Almay - Nearly Naked Cover Up Stick
cocobunny 11/27/2008 12:30:00 AM
A problem that I have always had with concealers is that I apply it in my bathroom and it looks fine, but then I step outside into natural light and then I can see where I've applied my concealer. This stick concealer is the first concealer I've ever tried that looks completely natural under sunlight. The color matches perfectly, so well that blending is almost effortless yet it still covers well. I would say this concealer is not ideal for those seeking heavy coverage, but for those who just want to even out their skin and have their skin look completely natural at the same time. Finally, a concealer that doesn't cover like a pancake, but lets your skin shine through!

Shampoo -Dove - Shine Therapy w Repairing Serum
cocobunny 8/17/2008 3:11:00 AM
Even though the bottle says this is for "dull, lackluster hair", I picked this up on a whim for my normal hair thinking a little more shine couldn't hurt. Turned out to be a good decision. My jet black hair has never been shinier and people instantly noticed. This also smooths out my hair pretty well and conditions my hair just enough without weighing it down. I even find that my hair doesn't get as oily as the day goes on when I use this shampoo. However, to me this smells better in the bottle than it does in the shower, but the scent doesn't linger in your hair anyway so I can look past that detail. Oh and just FYI, I didn't buy the matching conditioner (still using some leftover conditioner) so the fact that this shampoo alone has impressed me so much must mean that this can stand on its own and still work its magic.

Fragrances -Ralph Lauren - Lauren Style
cocobunny 8/10/2008 7:56:00 PM
Even though I don't usually wear perfume (got this as a gift), I absolutely love this scent. I hate anything that smells musky and overpowering... basically anything that smells like I've got heavy perfume on. This light, clean-smelling perfume with preppy floral undertones is perfect for me. As other reviews have mentioned, however, this doesn't last as long as I would like, which is why I took off a lippie. I still love it though!

Concealers -Maybelline - Cover Stick
cocobunny 8/7/2008 1:42:00 PM
This concealer is only okay. As a poor college student, I was trying to find a cheaper alternative for my beloved Origins concealer to cover my blemishes, but this one doesn't cut it. It's kinda strange because this concealer goes on thick but doesn't cover too well after you blend it. I also noticed that it was cakey and powdery in the places where I'd applied it, so don't pile this on in an effort to cover better! The Medium color was also too light for my Asian skin, but it does last all day on my oily skin and the price is unbeatable. I believe it may work for those who need light coverage and can blend very well, but for me, I need heavier coverage and while this is better than nothing, it's not quite what I'm looking for. I will finish this off but will not repurchase.

Cleansers -Clean & Clear - Daily Soft Cleanser
cocobunny 7/8/2008 4:21:00 PM
Sorry for bringing down the rating but my goodness, this might just be the worst cleanser I've tried in a long, long time. First of all, it doesn't even really feel like it's sufficiently cleaning my face, no foaming or sudsing deep clean feel at all. The scrubbing beads were quite harsh and scratchy, leaving my skin red, and what's more... this made me break out something horrible and it completely dried out my skin and gave me dry patches (and my skin is rather oily!) I found nothing good about this at all. Even the "soft" factor didn't impress because after rinsing my face, this cleanser leaves behind a slimy "film" to make it seem as if your skin is just that soft and smooth... gross. Very disappointing.

Brows -Rimmel - Professional Eyebrow Pencil
cocobunny 6/12/2008 4:35:00 PM
I've never used eyebrow makeup before, but had to when an eyebrow shaping mishap occurred and I couldn't bear to go out with one eyebrow looking funky while the other one was normal. Based on the good reviews I bought this and am so glad I did! At first I was afraid that everyone would notice right away that I had filled in my eyebrows with pencil. Well, nobody said anything, not even my friends who are always quick to tell me if something looks wrong with my appearance. I was surprised at how natural looking this was and am glad that this saved me a few weeks of embarrassment before my eyebrow hair came back completely. Whew!

Shampoo -Garnier - Fructis Anti-Dandruff Shampoo
cocobunny 5/1/2008 5:12:00 PM
This stuff is pretty rad! I actually don't have dandruff, but this makes my hair feel so dirt-free so I love it for that aspect. The 2-in-1 is even enough to let me forgo conditioner and still keep my hair feeling soft and smooth! When I use this my hair feels tons lighter and just simply cleaner. What a great find!

Conditioner -L'Oreal - L'oreal Vive Smooth-Intense Conditioner
cocobunny 5/1/2008 5:08:00 PM
I really disliked the shampoo, and this matching conditioner wasn't good either. This did give my hair a fair amount of "slip", but only hours after stepping out of the shower I felt like my hair was unclean and needed to be washed again. Left my hair greasy and unmanageable when my hair is already pretty manageable to begin with. Definitely will not repurchase.

Shampoo -L'Oreal - L'Oreal Smooth Intense Shampoo
cocobunny 5/1/2008 5:03:00 PM
All I can say is ick. I'm blessed with pretty manageable hair that responds well to just about any type of shampoo and conditioner, so when I saw this on sale at CVS I thought why not. This must be one of the only shampoos that truly made my hair feel greasy and unclean. Only hours after I shampooed I felt like I needed to wash my hair again. The smell doesn't even linger in your hair! As far as I can see there are no real pros to this shampoo at all.
