Wow. I've been wanting this product for over a year now, ever since I saw it on Victoria's Secret website. I finally caved and got it this year, and boy do I wish I could go back in time and NOT buy it. First, the "kohl" eyeliner pencils are CRAP. The black (India Ink) is the only one that applied smooth, like a kohl should, but there are plenty of others that are so much better, for a lower price. The Sapphire and Chai Tea ones are absolutely horrible, they do not go on smooth no matter how hard (or soft) you try, and they are very boring colors at that. The eyeshadow duo is chalky and not impressive what so ever. I haven't bothered with the mascara yet, sorry, I just wanted to get this up here in case someone is in the midst of deciding on whether or not to purchase this. I can almost guarantee you that you will hate this, and there is no way it is worth the $40 they charge, let alone $10. I've included a picture of swatches of the products because I can not describe the level of crap they have reached. http://img.makeupalley.com/2/3/1/6/1300994.JPG

Cleansers -DHC - Mild Cleansing Soap
rated 5 of 5
chixyb 3/19/2009 1:59:00 PM

Thank you DHC, thank you so much! I use this with my deep cleansing oil, and have been for about 2 months now. I have extremely oily skin, and have never been without a breakout my whole life. I for once, have clear skin! I also purchased the powdered soap, but much prefer this mild one! It does leave me feeling a wee bit tight, but I don't care because it works so dang well! If it's winter I'll use the olive oil moisturizer, but in the summer I have no need for it! Please, give this a try if you have problem skin! I bought the travel size olive essentials kit to try it out, and it has saved me!

HOLY COW. I have been receiving DHC catalogs for over 5 years, but never purchased because at the time with no income, I couldn't see spending the money on OIL. Well, I finally caved last year and bought the oil essentials travel/trial set (around $18) so I could try the oil and the soap. My oily acne prone skin is in love. It completely and utterly removes all trace of makeup, with no slick oily feeling at all. It rinses away all together. Thanks to DHC, I now have CLEAR skin. This is the first time ever in my whole life. I will be purchasing this again and again until the end of my natural life. Thank you DHC for such an amazing product! I have no complaints what so ever!

Powder -Shiseido - The Makeup Powdery Foundation SPF 15
rated 5 of 5
chixyb 3/19/2009 1:51:00 PM

This is my HG powder foundation. I am NC10 and use I00, it is a smidge too dark but my primer (dhc moist color base) makes it look perfect. It is medium coverage (fuller coverage if used wet) and is great on my very oily acne prone skin. I usually only need to touch up once throughout the day. It's so smooth, and never looks chalky. I also have not had any breakouts at all from it. I will definitely be purchasing this again!

Primer/ Corrector -DHC - Q10 Moist Color Base
rated 5 of 5
chixyb 3/19/2009 1:22:00 PM

This is my HG! I use this in green, I am roughly NC10, and everything breaks me out, and leaves me oily and melting in 2 hours. This lasts all day for me, with maybe 1 powder touch up, and 1 blot. It lightens me enough to keep my tad bit too dark foundation a perfect match. I've been using this for over 2 months now and no break outs. At first I was applying it with my hands, but because of the spf, it was hard to wash off. I then started applying it with my Sonia Kashuk blue peep sponge and it is perfect for it! It also gives me enough coverage and evens out my skin to where I can leave the house with no other foundation (thanks to DHC olive essentials set I have clear skin for the first time ever). It removes quite easily with DHC oil cleanser. I will definitely be buying this forever and ever!

Liquid -L'Oreal - True Match Super-Blendable Makeup SPF 17
rated 4 of 5
chixyb 1/19/2009 7:59:00 PM

Wow, I've finally found a DS foundation that actually matches my ghostly pallor! It's amazing. Ok, first off for reference, I am NC10 ish, with extremely oily skin, random breakouts, acne scars, and very uneven skin. I bought this in W1 (the lightest in the warm category). This foundation gives you about medium coverage, it is buildable if you wanted more. I haven't had any breakouts from this product. The finish is somewhat glowy though, not as much as others, but it doesn't have the stark matte look like MUFE Mat Velvet. I always powder over, and prime under, and even with that I still have some blotchiness towards the end of the work day. I only removed 1 lippie because of this, since I have yet to find any foundation to stand up to my over working sebaceous glands.

Other -Crest - Pro-Health Rinse
rated 1 of 5
chixyb 9/17/2008 10:59:00 PM

I was using this after I had my tongue web pierced, multiple times in one day. I had to stop after the one day because my mouth started to hurt, it felt the same as when you eat something hot and burn your taste buds, except it was my whole tongue. I figured it would go away in a day, like normal burns. NOPE. I had lost all sense of taste for a week. A few months later I decided to try it again, thinking that maybe it was just very strong and I shouldn't use it more then once a day. So I tried using it just one time and again, my taste buds were burnt. It "healed" quicker then previously, but still. I would definitely never ever buy or use this again, it is going in the trash. After reading the other reviews, I suppose I was lucky in some ways. Please do not risk your teeth/mouth by using this.

Lip Treatments -NYX - Tinted Lip Spa
rated 5 of 5
chixyb 6/19/2008 6:48:00 PM

I love these lip balms, I have used 5 different colors (the swatches look scary and bright, but they are pretty sheer, but enough color to not look like regular chapstick). These are very moisturizing, long lasting, and I love the way it feels like the mentholated (sp?) chapsticks. I was using aquaphor before this, but my lips would still dry out during the day (I would re-apply throughout the day), so I saw these on cherryculture and bought one to try it out. I went through my first one in 2 months! (I apply them roughly 10-15 x a day). From now on, I only use these, I will definitely keep re-purchasing!

Foundations -Sally Hansen - Inspired By Carmindy Natural Beauty Your Skin Makeup ] [DISCONTINUED]
rated 5 of 5
chixyb 5/17/2008 8:32:00 AM

I was walking through CVS on my lunch break, and happened to see all of this Sally Hansen makeup with Carmindy's name on it. I decided what the heck, lets try the foundation, I was almost out of my MUFE Mat Velvet+ anyways. It cost around $12-$13, which is a little pricey in my opinion for DS quality. Except, this is not drugstore quality! I bought the lightest shade available, which is absolutely perfect for my NC15-20 very yellow based skin. What's even better is that it is very neutral based, so it doesn't go on yellow, or pink. It just works with your skintone. This is very buildable as far as coverage, and always looks natural. I have applied with a brush, sponge, and my fingers, and so far a sponge application is my favorite. It gives me a beautiful healthy glow, without looking shiny (I am extremely oily). Oh, and this lasts all day long. Almost all of my foundations end up fading and geting splotchy towards the end of the day, because I am so oily (yes I blot, and put powder on top). Overall, this is my favorite foundation. I can make it matte by finishing with powder, or give myself a glow with a highlighter blush (my favorite is wnw mega glo). I also have acne prone skin, and I still haven't broken out from this (1-2 months of use). I will definitely be purchasing this again and again. Please give it a try! EDIT: After microderm and skin peels this is too dark for my skin (around NC10 now), and after time it started to melt off my oily skin. It's still a great foundation, but no longer my HG :(

Lips -Lancome - Baume Baiser (Rose Marshmallow lip balm)
rated 5 of 5
chixyb 10/4/2007 10:38:00 AM

I loooove this product! The first few times I used it, I was not impressed, it was hard to get anything on your lips. I started using it before applying lipstick because it seemed to hold it on very well. Now since I've used it so often, it applies a lot easier. I love the smell, it doesn't have a taste, when applied on me, it applies a sheerer version of the color of the baume itself. It is moisturizing my lips so nicely. I am in love with this product and will definately buy a back up of it. I am so glad I stuck it out with this one!

Palettes -Lancome - Destiny Cube - 01 Charisma
rated 5 of 5
chixyb 8/23/2007 12:22:00 PM

I had been wanting this ever since I saw it online, but I knew I couldn't afford it ($50!). Well while out shopping I decided to make an impulse purchase and get it, turns out it was the last one at the counter. I love the packaging, extremely cute, and very easy to take around with you in a purse. I didn't expect the lavender eye shadow to have any color pay off what so ever, but I decided to try it anyways. Turns out, it is very pigmented, and the sparkle shows up to (but not like it is covered in glitter). The brown is beautiful, but has some olive tones to it. The lip gloss is very smooth, not sticky. It feels wonderful on, but neither of the colors are very pigmented at all, the pale pink has more color than the dark, but I still love how smooth they are. Overall, I would definately purchase this again if need be and if given the chance.

Eye Primer -Fyrinnae - Silken Eye Shadow Base
rated 1 of 5
chixyb 7/20/2007 4:43:00 PM

I am a true Fyrinnae addict/lover. I'm always looking for an eye primer to make their shadows brighter and last longer, so of course when I saw this I knew I had to have it! A lot of people on the boards liked it, so I figured what the heck. I am a PPP with oily/acne prone skin. Today was my first day using it, I applied it on my finger (as to not "contaminate" it) and then put on my lid. It turned a chalky white, like most eye primers, and dried relatively quickly. I even did my blush and brows before my eye shadow to allow enough time to dry. As I started to apply my fyrinnae eye shadow I noticed a problem, the shadow was disappearing before my eyes! I was using a brush, which is what I normally use, so I switched to my fingers, and after piling it on, I got some color payoff. It is now over 8 hours in, and the shadow has faded so much, I had on dark/bright colors, and they are now pastel. I also have major creasing. Oh well, I guess I will be going back to UDPP, which worked amazingly well on me! I will definately not be purchasing this again, I wish it worked on me the way it does for others (it even works for my mother!).

Blush -Smashbox - O-Glow
rated 4 of 5
chixyb 5/15/2007 8:50:00 PM

I'm glad I for once didn't read reviews before I bought this. I just got this last night and tried it, I LOVE IT! I am naturally pale with yellow undertones, and dark hair/eyes. I've already received compliments on it, I love how easy it is to apply (I put it on my finger and just rubbed in where I would normally put on blush) and I like the texture also. I've tried cheek stains and I had more difficulty blending those in than I do this. I would definately buy this again (but it'd be nice if they came out with one that is more of a bronzer, because this is definitely pink). EDIT: After using this many times, I still like it, but am not in love with it and would most likeley not purchase this again. You can get a more natural look with other blushes or stains. Overall, still a good product IMO.

Liquid -Cover Girl - Outlast All Day Liquid Make-up (foundation+primer) [DISCONTINUED]
rated 4 of 5
chixyb 4/3/2005 8:23:00 PM

Ok, I bought this at Target on clearance (came with 3 free makeup sponges) for under $7. The price is fine, I do not like the packaging though, I find it hard to get the foundation onto the sponge without it getting on the container too (I'm a neat freak). I have used it two days now. The first day I used it I wore a cream on my face before hand because my skin is extremely overly dry and I normally can't wear foundation without it. It went on pretty smoothly, and I did not notice that bad of a smell from the primer. By the end of the work day my face wasn't nearly as shiny or oily as normal, and I didn't put any powder on! Today I decided to try it without the cream underneath. The primer worked great in moisturizing so there were no flakes. I did have trouble putting the foundation on though, it seems very hard to put it on my face, didn't glide to easily so I was left rubbing my fingers along the jaw line to blend it in. It has now been 8 hours and still I have very little sheen. (I get so oily normally that my powder sponges have oil marks on them after two days of use!) I would definately use this again overall.

Eye Shadow -Physicians Formula - Pearls of Perfection
rated 2 of 5
chixyb 1/26/2005 8:05:00 PM

I bought this on sale thinking it would be cool to try out. Wrong! I can't stand it! I can't get the eye shadow out to use without knocking pearls on the ground. I am not happy with this and will not buy it again. Oh well.
