Fragrances -Chanel - Coco Noir
bulbataras 8/20/2012 5:29:00 AM
I was very excited about this perfume as I love Chanel perfumes, especially the Coco line. To me this starts out more like Mademoiselle and then actually morphs more into No5 than the original Coco. It is a nice, fresh smell but nothing interesting and the lasting power is next to nothing. It is like a mist but even Chanel mists usually have more power than actual EDP's from other brands. Not horrible just horribly disappointing. One for the ebay pile, stick to Coco or Coco Mademoiselle.

Fragrances -Keiko Mecheri - loukhoum eau poudree
bulbataras 4/3/2012 6:12:00 AM
I absolutely love this. I tried this and the original on my hand, bought this and then found myself questing the decision. I went back and bought the original as well and while I like it, I defo prefer the eau poudree version. It is soft but really lasts. It does start off very powdery but quickly dries down to a most unique gourmand yet fresh scent. It has incredible lasting power for an EDT and in my opinion, you cannot overdo it as the scent just becomes like a you scent, almost as if you just got out of the shower and just smell fresh but with a sprinkly of powder sugar. Get loads of compliments on this and while not dirt cheap, very reasonable for a niche perfume.

Fragrances -By Kilian - Love
bulbataras 3/8/2012 12:54:00 PM
Absolutely love this but it is mighty expensive although worth it. I bought the travel size at £85. It is a small amount but the refills are reasonable at £41, however I could blast through that quickly. For me, it is more of a winter scent so I don't mind spending a little extra for one season. It is probably the most unique gourmand scent I have ever worn and get loads of compliments from men and women when I wear it. The packagin on the travel bottle is stunning although very heavy. The best option is to buy that and then use refill from other scents with it rather than dish out the dosh each time. I also like the Dangerous Liaisons scent from this line. All are unique and have great lasting power as well as staying true to the scent in the bottle after application.

Lip Liners -MAC - Dervish Lip Pencil

Nice warm neutral pink. I like to fill in the whole lip with this and layer Lust lipglass over it for a neutral mouth that brightens rather than washing you out.

Fragrances -Aquolina - Pink Sugar

When this first came out, I thought it was too sweet. Years later, I only wear gourman scents and this is the best. It is actually a complex scent for a gourmand, great in any season, lasts all day, develops into something more sophisticated through the day versus many gourmands that just go into straight vanilla by the end of the day. Great last power in any season and I have literally never had more compliments from a perfume in my life...men and women. Every single time I wear this, I get a least one compliment from someone. Luckily, I live in the UK where no one knows it as opposed to the US where someone can spot it in two seconds...My all-time fave!

BB Cream -Too Faced - Tinted Beauty Balm Multi-Benefit Skin Care Makeup
bulbataras 3/7/2012 7:41:00 AM
I absolutely love this product. It is sheer coverage that is enough to add a bit of colour to my skin and even it out. I use if after primer and just set with my NARS Loose Powder. It lasts all day and doesn't blotch or oxidize. I was previously using Chantecaille Future Skin which is amazing and the best I used so far but at at third of the price, this looks just as good in my opinion. So happy with this and will defo keep buying! I am love or hate with most Too Faced products but when they get it right, they are amazing...certainly with this.

Lotions/ Creams -Kiehls - Creme de corps soy milk and honey whipped body butter
bulbataras 2/14/2011 9:26:00 AM
This is so expensive, especially in the UK where they charge £36 for it while it is $35 in the US although you get a good amount but still. The smell is out of this world and lingers but is not overpowering. You skin stays moist without being sticky and has long term softening effects and doesn't just go after you wash it off. Even though it it so pricey here, am gonna keep buying it at least through the Winter.

Hair -Fudge - Dynamite Deep Penetrating Hair Treatment
bulbataras 7/8/2009 7:57:00 AM
I used to use this before they changed the packaging, which used to be a real pain but the product inside was far better. I could tell immediately from the smell that they changed something in the product along with the new packaging and it does not work anywhere near as well now. I will defo be back to my Bumble & Bumble Creme de Coco Masque which is expensive but the absolute HG treatment for me, blows this out of the water!

Lotions/ Creams -The Body Shop - Coconut Body Butter
bulbataras 5/15/2009 10:35:00 AM
I LOVE THIS! I have always been a fan of TBS body butters. They are truly the best and I always come back to them as they cure any skin ailment I have, keep the skin so hydrated and their scent stays all day. I have used the Cocoa butter which is good for any season and cures any skin issues and the Mango which is great for Summer but will not be replaced by this Coconut one. This has the same glorious effect on the skin as the Cocoa butter and the smell is to die for. I rarely add any perfume when I wear this yet get compliments all day (from men and women) on how lovely I smell. I sometimes add a few dabs of the vanilla or coconut perfumes oil which I also love and the smells work really well together. So easy, cheap and great for your skin, why use anything else! I also have the shimmer version which rocks and you can now get in store, as well as a lotion versus.

Fragrances -The Body Shop - White Musk White Hot Summer
bulbataras 5/7/2009 5:12:00 AM
I love this! I normally wear the vanilla and coconut products and while I like the original white musk, it is not something I would normally wear. When I first tried this, I thought it was a barely detectable fresh kind of smell, but once I put in on my skin, it turned into a gorgeous fresh but milky tropical fragrance. A bit sweet but also light and zingy for summer and good for the office. Even the EDT has great staying power, and this is defo a scent that really develops as you wear it. I love how affordable TBS is and the size is perfect for carrying around. Would buy again if it wasn't LE but hopefully they will bring it back next summer!

Powder -Christian Dior - Diorskin Forever Compact
bulbataras 3/4/2009 9:22:00 AM
I absolutely love this! I have only found one other foundation that works for me and doesn't make me break out, Nars oil-free foundation. This is even better, as the Nars one would still give me break outs on my chin so had to avoid it there, not this one. Also, I went one up shade to my face (no. 40), so I pretty much jsut need this one item, versus foundation, powder and bronzer. It saves a lot of time and while givin good coverage, looks very natural. This is a powder but has a lovely moist texture, cannot explain it. Lasts well through the day and I somtimes add a bit of the new matte bronzer in no.2 for a bit of extra but natural tan color...love both products. I typically only use Nars products, but Dior would be my next favorite line, both always have the best quality, color selection and never irritate my face and have lasting power. Also, love the compact and the sep area for the sponge.

Blush -BeneFit Cosmetics - Posietint
bulbataras 3/4/2009 8:47:00 AM
I use this in my magic combo of Moon beam and posietint with Dandelion on top. This give the best pink colour with the perfect amount of highlight and will last all day without fail. I used to use Benetint in this combo but as it is more red, sometimes my cheeks would come out too bright/red although it still was lovely. Using posietint this way give a slightly softer look which I think is more wearable for every day but could be built up as well. In using these two liquids, Dandelion has something to grab onto which intensifies a color which would normally not show up on me very well...highly recommend. I am also going to try Coralista over these two as that is lovely color would be a slightly warmer option as well...love these products and always come back to them. Great price as this amount will last you ages.

Polishes -Zoya - Professional Lacquer
bulbataras 2/26/2009 8:25:00 AM
I normally use OPI and Essie which are great in every way but recently started trying to use more natural products where I can and since my finger and toe nails are perpetually painted, I figured this was one area of my beauty regime that I would benefit from doing in a more natural/chemical free way. I initially tried Carmen which is probably the most perfect red I have ever seen and everyone compliments on the color when I wear it. It also wears very well and lasts almost the whole week on my fingers with no chips. I now only use Zoya with their own base and top coat and couldn't be more pleased. I have been using Laurie as my everyday pink/white neutral and have found the same wonderful lasting power with this one. Maybe every shade does not wear the same, but I have not had any problems with wear like some others, quite the opposite. I can't recommend these enough and the shade range is gorgeous!

Blush -BeneFit Cosmetics - Coralista
bulbataras 1/27/2009 5:27:00 AM
I love this! I am always searching for the perfect blush and have been using NARS Orgasm for years on and off but always seem to work better in the Summer when I am tan. Like some other reviewers have said, this is what I always wanted Orgasm to be. I still O for going out but Coralista gives you more of that glow versus sheen which is more natural for the day and also goes more pink when you layer whereas O goes more peach. It is lighter and sheerer than O but I like it. I sometimes and a pop of NARS desire over this for more impact. Love most of these boxes from Benefit and don't care about the packaging as these hold a lot more product that most blushes and last a long while, so I am happy. I think this the best one so far! UPDATE: Still loving this, perfect color and lasts all day until I wash my face at night and looks to fresh and natural from the first application to the end of the day. I have never had a blush last like this and just brightens the complexion so much without being overlight bright...HOLY GRAIL BLUSH!

Mascara -Max Factor - False lash effect
bulbataras 10/20/2008 12:23:00 PM
This is actually my favorite mascara so far. It does provide length and volume but in my experience it is one of those mascaras that needs to dry a bit between coats to get the best lenght and lift. The design of the brush keeps the lashes defined, so no worries about clumping even if it has dried a bit. Holds curl well, looks intense but lashes still feel solft and it comes off easily and doesn't smudge or flake. That list spells perfection to me and much cheaper than dept. store mascaras I have used in the past.
