Scrubs -Dermalogica - Daily Microfoliant
amystewart 4/13/2013 1:56:00 PM
Quite simply the best daily exfoliator there is out there. This is gentle enough to use daily. A little bit on clean hands foam it up with water in your hands to make a creamy soapy bubbly creation and buff over your skin - afterwards my skin feels so soft and no little flaky patches! It also lasts forever - I've had a big bottle for 1 year and use it 3 times a week - there's still product in it! It's totally worth the money and is dermalogica at its best. The only con for me would be the smell as with all DL products is a bit non descript & unpleasant - this is a very minor criticism. I also find the top of the bottle can get claggy and clogged up if the bottle has come into contact with water. These are so minor though.

Makeup Brushes -Real Techniques by Samantha Chapman - Stippling Brush
amystewart 3/29/2013 11:53:00 AM
The most over-hyped brush I have ever had. I adore Sam and her sister on pixiwoo and was so excited to buy these brushes - I don't know what I expected with this one but it wasn't the result I got. All the brushes are nowhere near as soft as the body shops line, and I had to buff this in for ages to stop my foundation bring streaky. It also lost bristles over my face - horrible! To be honest when you look at the price it's not surprising - you get what you pay for. I'm going to save up for some decent high end brushes.

Cleansers -Elemis - Elemis Rehydrating Rosepetal Cleanser
amystewart 2/27/2013 3:44:00 AM
I am in love with this cleanser. I have combination skin but I think this cleanser would work for any skin type. It goes on beautifully and massages well into the skin - not too creamy but not too thin - just right! It also smells lovely - Rose is a favourite of smell of mine. There isn't a product i dislike in the Elemis range and this is up there with the greats. Also its not tested on animals. Price wise this is a high end product and the price reflects this but the good thing about Elemis is they are always doing offers in department stores so I've never actually paid full price for this as a stand alone product. The ONLY negative thing I would say about this is that I do have to use the toner with it as some make up is still left on. This doesn't bother me at all but some people wouldn't like it.

Eye Shadow -MAC - Woodwinked - veluxe pearl
amystewart 2/17/2013 11:40:00 AM
This looks rather a scary bronze colour in the pot but I find that if you prime your eyes, add foundation it comes out a really pretty shimmery and surprisingly colour which makes your eyes pop. I have blue eyes and it really brings out the blue but I think it would suit brown/green eyes beautifully too. I also love the name - not that it effects the shadow!

Liquid -Bourjois - Healthy Mix Serum Gel Foundation
amystewart 2/17/2013 11:36:00 AM
I love this foundation. I think it's incredibly good value and you get lots for your money. I love the gel consistency although It could go on better as it's quite thick for a liquid foundation but one its blended in with a brush it's fine. The finish gives me a nice glow, healthy mix is just the name for it. It also smells pleasant. The colour I bought is a little too dark for me but I just blend really well. I'll definitely repurchase again at a lighter shade. My one gripe with this foundation ( a common complaint with cheaper foundations) is that it does not stay on all day.

Liquid -NARS - Sheer Glow Foundation
amystewart 2/17/2013 11:26:00 AM
I don't want to down this product too much because I know that for some skin types it would be great BUT not if you have any dry patches on your skin. It does have some great points though and if your skin is oily/normal - I would recommend trying. I got this after seeing some great reviews on You Tube. It goes on beautifully - probably one of the most blendable foundations I have tried. The colour range is super and the Light 4 - Deauville was a perfect match for me. On areas like my cheeks and forehead this looks lovely, airbrushed almost, although by no means 'glowy'. The name is misleading - this is a matte foudation. BUT on my nose chin and round my lips, even up near my brows this settles looks cakey and flaky, even after i applied loads of moisturiser ad have exfolited. it also sat horribly under my eyes I won't be repurchasing. The thing is, my skin isn't particularly dry, so I think of those with alot of dry patches this would be a nightmare.

Blush -BeneFit Cosmetics - Posietint
amystewart 1/2/2013 7:59:00 AM
I have all the benefit liquid blushes (Cha Cha Tint and Benetint) but this is by far my favourite. It's perfect for my skintone which is fair with cool undertones. I think it's superior to Benetint and anyone who likes Benetint will love this. Its thicker and while the colour looks a little scary in the pot, it blends beautifully into a very pretty and natural colour. It gives SUCH a lovely flush to the cheeks and I particularly love it as a lip stain - it stays on long after your gloss is gone and gives lips colour without being too bright. Personally I dont really wear lipstick but get frustrated by lip gloss that won't last so this really is perfect. As always with benefit, the price is a let down and this product (perhaps due to the consistency) does not last as long as Benetint.

BB Cream -Garnier - BB Cream Miracle Skin Perfector - Light/Medium
amystewart 6/20/2012 10:58:00 AM
This is very disapointing indeed. It was the first BB Cream I saw on the market (I've since tried much better ones) and it really isn't for me. It seems to be no more than a tinted moisturiser but sits on the skin making it look greasy and shiny. I also have issues with the colour - my skin is light-medium, It got the light one and it's still too dark on me. The packaging is nice and it's inexpensive enough and normally on offer in Boots - that's about as good as it gets.

Liquid -BeneFit Cosmetics - "Hello Flawless!" Oxygen Wow
amystewart 5/23/2012 4:54:00 PM
I am a sucker for a new benefit product - the packaging gets me every time. But! I'm sometimes disappointed and can find the kitsch packaging and cute adverts all just fluff for an average product. Sadly I feel like that about this one. So far I've just tried the incredibly generously sized free testers in Champagne and Honey. (Top marks on that benefit) Cons: Firstly it is VERY sheer. They say it's buildable coverage but I find this slips off my face before lunch. If you like very very dewy (SHINY!) coverage this might be for you particularly if you have dry skin. The colour choices don't suit me - i find the champagne too yellowy and honey too dark and the other colours dont suit. This is more of a personal problem though and others might like the colours. Pros: My mum tried it and liked it - she has very dry older skin and it didnt sit in her lines. I love the tube and pump. You get a lot of product for your money (sorry that's all i got!)

Liquid -Clinique - Even Better Makeup SPF 15
amystewart 5/2/2012 3:19:00 PM
I recently bought this make up for the first time. There are some things which I love about it and some things which I hate. LOVE - it goes on so easily, it really is one of the most easily blended foundations. I like the coverage. It says it's medium coverage but I would tend towards medium to heavy. I also gives my skin a good glow without being too shiny. DISLIKE - the colour choices aren't great. I have the 3rd lightest(not sure what its name is) and it's the best match but still isn't a great match - there's a warm orangey undertone which isn't great for cool skin tones and this is something I find with Clinique in general. It's expensive considering that it really is a tiny tube. That said, a little goes a long way. I WOULD buy it again but probably WON'T as I think the HG is still out there!

Liquid -Estee Lauder - Invisible Fluid Makeup
amystewart 3/6/2012 11:58:00 AM
I got this as a sample with a magazine a few days ago and have used it twice - I'm very impressed with it but I don't think it would work well with all skin types. Stay away from this if you have dry skin! My skin is combo and this just melts into it, and gives a really lovely matt finish but there are a few areas around my mouth with is dry where it can look a little flaky. This gives my face a a lovely tone - it's perfect for the current matte trend as well and just leaves me with flawless skin. - Lovely! Luckily the colour in the sample was perfect for me and I will be purchasing a full size bottle of this the next time Estee Lauder are doing a free gift promotion. I would test this before you buy - get it put on and then for the day, see how it wears.

Skincare - Body -Natio - Wellness Body Gloss
amystewart 10/16/2011 5:47:00 AM
Bought this on offer in Debenhams recently & while I am not mad about the rest of Natio this really is a standout product! It leaves the most lovely sheen on my skin and moisturises beautifully. I love using it. The smell is also very pleasant. I don't think I would buy full price but I got if for under £10 in a store event day, which is reasonable enough.

Hair -KMS California - Silker Leave-In Treatment
amystewart 9/18/2011 2:03:00 PM
I think this has been re - branded as silksheen leave in conditioner but is more or less the same product. I'm a huge fan of this product - I prefer it to the moist repair for a few reasons. Firstly the smell is pretty much the best thing about it - I really love it - very difficult to describe so I'm just gonna go for YUMMY! Secondly it makes my hair feel very very silky. I have frizzy bleached hair & this seems to make it so soft and lovely. That's pretty much all I want in a leave in conditioner! Whilst I likie the moist repair it can give a protein overload - this is gentler. I just wish that it wasn't so freaking expensive - In shops it about £15 but I got it online for less.

Cleansers -Lancome - Galatéis Douceur
amystewart 9/18/2011 10:43:00 AM
I recently purchased this after having a mini make over at the Lancome counter. The girl took off my existing make up to try a new foundation on & the only product that she used which wowed me was the cleanser she used - it smells sublime - fruity and feels creamy and gentle on my face. It leaves my combo skin feeling very soft and fresh. It doesn leave a bit of excess even after tsissuing off though so unless you're using this in the shower you will need a toner as well. Personally i didnt get the toner to go with becasue I think rose water spray does the smae and is alot cheaper. All in all a beautiful quality cleanser which is worth the money and really has made a difference to my skin.
