Lipstick -Chanel - Como
rated 5 of 5

found-perfect beigey-nude lipstick! I never thought I could wear a shade like this, but Como magically has just enough pink in it to be wearable, not too orangey, and a soft iridescence so that your lips don't look flat and dead. beautiful MLBB nude shade for me, I wear Chanel TI in Shell 1.5. Love to pair this with their Natural Liner and new Gold Light Glossimer-wore it with Le Bronze and Island eyeshadows and Orchid Rose blush this weekend...it was the perfect Nude/Natural but better face....this is limited edition, so I might need to seriously consider a backup...as these lipsticks are now $27 each it's quite a splurge to get a backup...but this shade might just be worthy. I can see this being a go-to for daily wear.

Lip Gloss -Chanel - Aqualumiere gloss Ironic Tonic
rated 5 of 5

gorgeous, shimmering golden/plum with pinkish undertones-Ironic Tonic is surprisingly versatile and seems to work on a lot of complexions, especially given the range of rave reviews below! it works on my pale Irish skin too...I have hazel eyes, brown hair and wear Chanel TI in Shell 1.5 for reference...this has a lovely texture and while it is sheer, you can build up the color-also it seems to have a liquid lipstick feel to it once it "sets" on the lips...If you know Sirocco Hydrabase l/s it is very similar in color to that one...when the new Aqualumiere glosses came out this summer, I knew right away I had to have Ironic Tonic...and it does not dissapoint. price is atrocious (as with all Chanel products) but you do get a superlative product in beautiful packaging. (which by the way, hasn't leaked yet, the way some glossimers and the Cristalle glosses of a few years back did). Go check out these glosses, there is sure to be one that catches your eye...if not this one!

Lip Gloss -MAC - Lil' Hot Pepper
rated 5 of 5
alexei9 7/22/2008 11:17:00 PM

I agree with a reviewer below who described this shade as a coral-rose shade with pearl....I wouldn't describe this as burnt red as the MAC website does...to me that's almost orangey and this gloss does not impart any orangey shades at all. it's a lovely warm vivid rose with coral undertones. works really well with my NW25 hazel/brunette coloring. it's so good I am thinking of ordering a backup....because of course, much like most of the best MAC shades...it's Limited Edition.

Blush -MAC - Mineralize Blush - Nuance
rated 5 of 5
alexei9 7/22/2008 11:13:00 PM

Nuance is a gorgeous subtle peach/nude/golden glow on me-for reference my coloring is NW25 hazel/brown-it is reminiscent in texture and finish to the Chanel Joues Contraste line of blushes-at half the price. I would compare the shade to Chanel's now discontinued Reflex shade in that line...it's similar but not an exact duplicate. it imparts a lovely natural glow to my cheeks and looks almost more like a natural bronzer shade, than a blush. lovely and subtle for summer. I have heard that 6 of the Sonic Chic blushes will be re-released as a permanent line in the fall, I am hoping this one is included in that group!

Blush -MAC - Mineralize Blush - Dainty
rated 5 of 5
alexei9 7/22/2008 11:09:00 PM

just wanted to add my two cents on this lovely blush-it has already been described perfectly as a luminous peachy-pink with subtle shimmer-a gorgeous sheer but buildable texture that is reminiscent of Chanel's famous Joues Contraste line of blushes-for half the price! this one is similar to Chanel Rose Petale, for reference. I am NW25 hazel/brown and this is a natural, healthy flushed glow on me. like your cheeks but better! This blush is LE as of now but it's rumoured that MAC will re-release 6 of the mineralized blushes as part of the permanent line-up this fall....I am willing to bet this shade will be part of that group, it's really stunning and I am sure it's been a best seller from Sonic Chic.

Eye Shadow -Lancome - colour design - burnt sand
rated 5 of 5
alexei9 6/21/2008 8:13:00 PM

the perfect medium shimmering brown shade-Burnt Sand is not quite bronze, not exactly beige...it's deep enough for me to use as a crease/lid shade but not so dark that it's too much for daytime-and certainly not too shimmery. This is what I wanted MAC's Woodwinked to be-a medium shimmering brown, but what I got with Woodwinked is strong orangey/red undertones and wayyyyy too much over the top shimmer. Burnt Sand looks good with Filigree as a highlighter on the browbone, or Gaze allover the eye as a wash with Burnt Sand used in the crease. hope they never discontinue this one....

Fragrances -Christian Dior - Miss Dior Cherie Printemps
rated 5 of 5
alexei9 6/16/2008 12:39:00 AM

loving this new fragrance by Dior...I chose Miss Dior Cherie Eau de Printemps because it is just that-a lighter, springtime version of the original that doesn't seem quite so heavy in the summer heat. I don't own the original yet, but have been contemplating buying it since about March....discovering this version was great because the only thing holding me back from buying the original version was the feeling that it would be overwhelming in summer months. It isn't terribly different from the original, which I like (some spinoff fragrances differ too much from the original...) I might even need to buy a backup bottle of this version...so feminine and in my opinion, classy.

Lip Gloss -Chanel - Gazelle Glossimer
rated 5 of 5
alexei9 6/8/2008 9:49:00 PM

another beauty from the glossimer line-Gazelle is a glowing peach-pink with lots of beautiful frosted shimmer-a very pretty color for summer. it's reminiscent of the glossimer shade Twinkle...but more pink than gold and not quite as frosty. I find Gazelle pairs well with their Rouge Allure lipstick in Exquise, which is a simlary pinky-peach shade.

Polishes -Chanel - 217 Splendeur

stunning, stunning creamy hot deep pink-rose...almost fuschia...but not quite. beautifully shiny and pigmented. possibly the best Chanel np I've ever purchased. I love this shade for spring/summer with my LLL coloring...wearing this as a pedicure right now, but it would look great for an eye-catching manicure too...love it.

Self Tanners -Lancome - Flash Bronzer Tinted Leg Gel
rated 5 of 5
alexei9 5/17/2008 1:53:00 PM

hands down the best self-tanning product on the market. mine does not indicate leg gel-it's called Flash Bronzer Glow n Wear Tinted Self-Tanning Gel for Body. I have the Shimmer formulation. I am fair-light skinned and I get great, non-orangey results from this. it dries quickly (so as to resist transfer) so it does require fast application-but even with that I don't have streaking issues. the scent is relatively nice (for self-tanner) and the shimmer is nice and not OTT-imparts a nice glow right away because it is tinted, but it's not long before the actual "self-tanning" takes place. Try it, it's HG stuff.

Lipstick -Chanel - Aqualumiere Sheer Colour Lipshine in Samoa #75
rated 5 of 5
alexei9 5/7/2008 5:26:00 PM

I knew upon hearing about this shade that I would have to have it-a bronze rose! it's more rose than bronze on me and has a subtle shimmer to it. It's very natural looking on me and almost a MLBB kind of shade...but with more ooomph. It's just an incredibly flattering shade. It's actually the one Marion Cotillard (Acadamey Award winner best actress for La Vie En Rose) wore at the Oscars this year....it looked amazing on her, and probably would on just about any brunette. for reference I am LLL/hazel/brown (wear Chanel TI in 1.0 or 1.5)

Lip Gloss -Lancome - Color fever gloss - On Fire
rated 5 of 5
alexei9 4/27/2008 6:44:00 PM

the name of this gloss conjures a deep fiery red, but it's really a nice rich plum with subtle golden shimmer. it's pigmented so you can get a really rich look with this gloss-but it's still not too dark for my LLL complexion. I wear Lancome Color Ideal in II-10 if that helps. Love this with my dark brown hair and hazel eyes. very classy color, I usually wear it in the fall/winter but it is just as wearable in the warmer months.

Lip Gloss -Lancome - Color Fever Gloss - Sunbaked Coral
rated 5 of 5
alexei9 4/27/2008 6:42:00 PM

Sunbaked Coral is a sheer, soft golden pink with golden shimmer throughout-the name conjures up a brown/coral shade but it's really a sheer golden pink to me. it's soft and subtly glimmery for a very shine effect on the lips. a perfect gloss for summertime. Goes well with a little Gaze e/s on the lids, a bronze liner, and Miel Glace blush for an easy summery look.

Eye Shadow -Lancome - Color Design - Gaze
rated 5 of 5
alexei9 4/27/2008 6:30:00 PM

this is the only Lancome eyeshadow shade that I've ever hit pan on and had to repurchase-I have owned this in both the original Color Focus formulation and the newer Color Design formulation. the color is identical, but the Color Design formulation is a bit softer/smoother and easier to apply. other than that, it's an easy nude/champagne shimmery type of shadow that looks great applied as a wash for a simple daytime look, or with Mocchachino or Click in the crease for a bit more drama...it's one of those chameleon shades that can be paired with just about anything really-MAC's Naked Lunch is quite similar, but just a bit more shimmery.

Eye Shadow -Christian Dior - 5 Colour Eyeshadow - Sunset Cafe
rated 5 of 5
alexei9 3/1/2008 8:33:00 PM

I love this quint. Gorgeous, wearable palette of warm, neutral shimmery shades...really goes well with my neutral LLL/hazel/brunette coloring...in particular the middle shade which is a bronze with a very slight green tone in it (reminds me of Stila's Golightly...but even better) I bought the new Addict Ultra Gloss Reflect in Stretchy Brown to go with it...it's not really brown at all but a warm rosy nude shade with a pink shimmer to it. Really loving the textures of these newer Dior quints and they last forever on the eye with no creasing at all. Well worth the money, in my opinion. The usual glamorous and luxe Dior packaging, with a nice big mirror inside the compact and sponge tip applicators you can actually use. Love. I would most definately repurchase should I ever run out of it.
