Primer/ Corrector -Bare Escentuals - Prime Time
aimeeb12 6/29/2007 5:18:00 PM
My favorite primer!!! This stuff is amazing. It's very similar in texture to the infamous Smashbox primer, but it doesn't feel as greasy and it doesn't break me out like the Samshbox. It works well under mineral makeup and liquid makeup. My makeup goes on nicely and wears well with this stuff. It even provides oil control for me, which I did not expect. I highly rec this primer!!!

Liquid -Clinique - Superfit Foundation [DISCONTINUED]
aimeeb12 6/3/2007 10:28:00 PM
I've been using this foundation for about two weeks now and it's wonderful. I bought it on a whim at my work b/c I'm always on the hunt for my HG foundation & the color, Vanilla, looked perfect for my suntanned skin. Well, the color is perfect for me & I hope to find a shade as perfect for my light skin in the fall/winter. The coverage, IMO, is medium to full, leaning more towards medium. It reminds me of my Revlon CS, but not quite as sticky, if that makes any sense. The Revlon CS feels a bit thicker than this. The Superfit covered well and lasted all work day w/a couple powder touch-ups. I use the NARS mu primer first and apply it w/a foundation brush b/c these steps are essential to better mu application & wear, IMO. If I didn't do those things, I wouldn't be satisfied w/any of the foundations I've tried. It does do a pretty good job of controlling my super oily t-zone tho for a couple of hours. That's more than I can say for the majority of foundations I've tried. Now, I'm stuck btwn this & Revlon CS, but I'm leaning more towards Superfit b/c it has the lighter consistency and a better color match. It's oil-free, which is a must for me & my acne-prone skin type. So far, I haven't noticed it clogging any pores, but I don't wear it everyday. It provides too much coverage for everyday use, IMO. In the end, I'm more than pleased w/this foundation and highly rec it to oily/acne-prone/combination skin types. I like variety in my foundation, but this may just be the one I go to from now on for fuller coverage. EXCELLENT!!! :)

Shampoo -ARTec - KIWI Coloreflector
aimeeb12 6/2/2007 10:59:00 PM
I've been using this shampoo for about 2 months now and I like it. It really has helped keep my color looking fresh longer and I've never had a shampoo do that before. I still get compliments on my highlights 5 weeks after I've had them done. The scent is very light. It lathers well and does an okay job of cleaning. I wish it had a bit more cleaning power, but that would probably cause it to strip my color. The matching conditioner is far too light for my taste and does nothing for my hair. Overall, it's been one of the best shampoos I've ever tried, high-end and low-end.

Moisturizers -Neutrogena - Oil-Free Moisture Sensitive Skin
aimeeb12 5/31/2007 6:22:00 PM
I've been using this for the past month or so in place of my Cetaphil lotion b/c the Cetaphil was far too heavy for the warmer weather and it made my skin look super greasy. This stuff is nice and lightweight, but not too light that it doesn't moisturize. I use it alone, under spf, and under makeup and it works well in all those situations. I really have no complaints w/this one. I have an oily t-zone and it gets especially oily in the summer, but this moisturizer doesn't seem to add to that problem. It also has never caused any irritation or breakouts. Overall it's a wonderful basic lightweight moisturizer!!!

Treatments (Eye) -Clarins - Sun Wrinkle Control Eye Contour Care SPF 30
aimeeb12 5/28/2007 3:33:00 PM
I absolutely love the concept of this stuff. An eye cream w/high sun protection. I use this in the summer underneath my everyday eye cream and it gives great protection. The skin underneath my eyes stays tight and light despite the color I'm getting on my forehead, nose, and cheeks. I was also pleased to find that it provides a little moisture, which I didn't expect b/c it has a higher SPF. I don't use it everyday, but it has never caused any irritation or milia. I would highly rec this to anybody who wants great sun protection designed specifically for the undereye area.

Liquid -Neutrogena - Skin Clearing Oil-Free Makeup
aimeeb12 5/26/2007 1:02:00 PM
I use this foundation strictly during that time of the month to prevent further breakouts and I like it for that. It isn't a foundation I would use all the time. The coverage is light to medium, IMO. It covers the acne and old acne scars okay(not completely), so a little concealer is always a must with this one. It dries semi-matte. The oil-control is okay. I am currently using it in Copper Sand b/c I always have a tan in the summer. The color is maybe a touch too light, but it's very neutral, so it ends up working out okay. It blends well b/c I use a primer b4hand. I would rec this as a great first time makeup for young girls w/acne or anybody w/acne-prone/oily skin. There is very little salicylic acid in it and I don't really think it does much, but it doesn't break me out anymore and that's good enough for me. I will say it beats out a lot of the lower and higher end foundations I've tried in the past and boy have I tried them all. Revlon Colorstay w/SoftFlex is my favorite, but this stuff is pretty darn good and a close second.

Liquid -Revlon - ColorStay Active Light Makeup SPF 25 ] [DISCONTINUED]
aimeeb12 5/14/2007 3:56:00 PM
I was impressed by Revlon's Colorstay Foundation and I'm equally as impressed with this product. Bourjois discontinued my *favorite* tm, Happy Light, and I was so disappointed. Luckily, this stuff is just as good as (maybe even better than) the Happy Light. The consistency is much different. Happy Light is a bit more "watery", but the finished product is very similar. Active Light is like a tm w/better coverage. I surprisingly don't get overly shiny w/this stuff either which I kind of expected. It hasn't clogged my pores at all and I was able to find a pretty good match for my skin tone both in the summer(True Beige) and winter(Ivory/Buff Mixture):-)! I highly rec this lightweight foundation. Thanks again, Revlon!!!

Toners -Neutrogena - Pore Refining Toner
aimeeb12 5/10/2007 9:51:00 PM
This toner is amazing! I have had consistent acne on my chin for months now and even my topical Px meds weren't doing the trick. I bought it based on the reviews here on MUA and I couldn't be more pleased with it. My chin has completely cleared up w/in a few weeks and I think this toner played a huge part in that. It dried out my skin a bit at first, so now I only use it at nite. The smell isn''t the greatest, but it's easy to get used to. I hope Neutrogena NEVER discontinues this product!!!

Cleansers -Neutrogena - Cleansing Bar - Acne-Prone Skin Formula
aimeeb12 5/10/2007 9:45:00 PM
I love this soap!!! I've been using it for the past few weeks now because my mom rec'd it to me. She's been using the original Neutrogena bar soap for years. I finally gave into her advice and I'm happy I did. I use this soap at nite. It takes off ALL of my makeup and deep cleans my skin to prepare it for my topical acne meds. It has never dried me out, but I use a toner immediately after I wash with this. My skin has never looked better. Best of all, you can't beat the price. I highly rec this to anyone on topical acne treatments or anyone who struggles with mild-moderate acne. Awesome stuff :-)

Sunscreen -Clarins - UV PLUS Protective Day Screen SPF 40
aimeeb12 4/25/2007 12:25:00 PM
This is actually a wonderful sunscreen, BUT it just wasn't for me. I applied this over my Cetaphil and my skin looked great too. I didn't even need t/m or foundation. The high SPF is what brought me to the product and I think it's great. Unfortunately, I broke out about a week or so after using this for the week straight everyday, so I won't be purchasing this again. I may try and use it every once in awhile if I'm going to be in the sun for hours at a time. Maybe it was the continued use that broke me out. I just want to find some kind of use for it b/c it was so darn expensive. For ref., I have slightly oily(t-zone)/ acne-prone skin.

Self Tanners -L'Oreal - Sublime Glow Daily Moisturizer and Natural Skin Tone Enhancer for Fair Skin Ton
aimeeb12 4/24/2007 10:51:00 PM
This has been my favorite gradual sunless tanner and I have tried a few. The color is perfect. It's veeerrrry subtle, but I noticed it within two days. It really enahances my natural skin tone by providing a touch of color. It is so natural looking and NEVER fake or orangey. After I finish the tube, I'll purchase it for medium skin tones for a deeper color. My only gripe is the shimmer, but I am able to look past that because it works so well. There is a scent to it, but nothing I can't handle. Somedays the scent will bother me more so than others, so I either skip a day or mix it w/my Palmers Cocoa Butter and notice it less. Definitely my HG gradual tanner. I highly rec it and have repurchased it numerous times ;-)

Liquid -Revlon - ColorStay Makeup with SoftFlex SPF 6 for Combination/Oily Skin
aimeeb12 4/22/2007 6:59:00 PM
I really like this foundation. I have the pleasure of working at Sephora, BUT this is the best foundation I have tried AND I've tried a ton!!! I have it in shades Ivory & Buff (I mix the two to get a perfect match) and I'm an NW20. The colors work great for me. It lasts ALL day and the oil doesn't break through for literally a couple hours. My pores don't look HUGE like they do w/MMU. It never gets cakey either like the other liquids and MMU I've tried. I am more than impressed. PLUS, it doesn't break me out and just about everything irritates my acne-prone skin. I highly rec this stuff if you're looking for a medium coverage foundation. I would consider the finish to be semi-matte on my skin. I am gonna be bold and say that this is my HG liquid foundation. Thanks Revlon;-)

Brows -BeneFit Cosmetics - Speed Brow
aimeeb12 4/9/2007 9:23:00 PM
Yuck, this brow gel was horrible! I bought it in shade meduim to dark and it turned out a dark chalky brown, almost black color on my brows. The formula is runny and it streaked all over my eyes. I'm not shocked tho b/c Benefit spends way too much money on cutesy packaging and not enough on quality products, IMHO. I was looking for a quick and natural way to enhance my brows and this was not it!!!

Styling Products -Suave - Professionals Sleek Smoothing Cream
aimeeb12 3/31/2007 10:24:00 PM
I am so impressed with Suave. I also love their shampoos and conditioners. This stuff is awesome too! I use it on my hair after I towel dry it but b4 blow drying. It really conditions, smoothes, and keeps the frizzies away. My hair is thin, medium length, but I have a lot of hair. I use a dime size amount because if I use too much, it weighs my hair down. Less is more with this stuff. Best of all, the price is wonderful and it doesn't break me out around my hairline. I highly rec this styling cream to anyone!!!

Powder -Jane - Be Pure Mineral Makeup
aimeeb12 3/31/2007 8:31:00 PM
WoW, this has been the worst mineral mu that I've tried so far! It just did not work w/my oily skin. It provided NO coverage and NO shine control. Plus, IMHO, the packaging is the worst. I understand you can take it apart, but it's so messy and if you're using the puff, imagine how dirty it gets. Yuck, I hated this stuff and would not rec it to any oily skinned gals.
