Lotions/ Creams -Alba Botanica - Original Body Lotion
agarber 4/7/2004 12:00:00 PM
This is the best body lotion that I have ever used. I love that it has no fragrance (doesn't compete with my perfume), and it moisturizers so well without chemicals. Plus, you can't beat the price at $9.99. All the reviews below are so true. Buy it at Whole Foods.

Fragrances -Chantecaille - Le Jasmin
agarber 3/5/2004 1:36:00 PM
I give this fragrance from Chantecaille raves!! Read below for more descriptions of the various floral notes. Chantecaille's fragrances are the only ones I have found that have no chemical smells to them. They are expensive because the scent is so pure. I think this one dries down to a pure jasmin fragrance that last for hours. One thing to note: I had a sample that I got from Chantecaille but the fragrance was much weaker than when I sprayed it from a full-sized bottle. I suggest sampling from a full-sized bottle at a Chantecaille counter, or you might miss out on the unique notes and beauty of this fragrance. Downside, it is very pricey.

Bronzers -Chantecaille - Chantecaille Capri Powder Bronzer
agarber 2/23/2004 6:11:00 PM
Chantecaille's two powder bronzer shades -- Capri as well as the darker one called Tahiti -- are both great! The powder is soft and sheer and totally buildable if you want to add more intense color. Plus, like all other Chantecaille products, it doesn't break out or irritate my sensitive skin. My skin tone is fair to medium (I wear Real Skin in Bliss) so I started off with Capri, but actually I found it just a bit too light and too pink. I now own Tahiti (see my separate review) and I like that color even better. It is a bit darker but not too dark, and my skin looks natural and bright when I wear it. First, I was afraid Tahiti might be too much color, but it isn't so don't be afraid of this one either. Check out both shades before you buy.

Bronzers -Chantecaille - TAHITI Compact Soleil Bronzer
agarber 2/23/2004 6:07:00 PM
This bronzer is terrific! I can't believe there aren't more reviews on this one. Based on all the great reviews for Chantecaille's bronzer in Capri, I bought that first. Even though my skin tone is fair to medium fair (I wear Real Skin in Bliss), I found Capri to be too light on me, and too pink. Tahiti, on the other hand, is a gorgeous bronze shade that seems to have the right combination of red and pink so as not to look too orange. The powder is sheer and light so it goes on softly and can be built up for more color.

Toners -Chantecaille - Pure Rosewater toner
agarber 2/20/2004 7:22:00 PM
I don't understand how people can rate this product so low. It is pure rosewater in a beautiful bottle. What could be better for your skin and your countertop, all in one? But seriously, rosewater makes for a perfect "toner" if you have dry, sensitive skin like me. Most toners have alcohol or witch hazel, but this is just pure and soothing. The price on this is ridiculous, but it is a great luxury.

Cleansers -Chantecaille - Flower Infused Cleansing Milk
agarber 10/29/2003 11:36:00 AM
I also received a sample from the NM GWP. If you have sensitive skin like me, I think you would like this, although you do need to wash your face twice to remove foundation. I really like this cleanser because it leaves my skin clean and soft, although unfortunately it comes with a high price tag of $48. In order to save product, I first remove my makeup with a bit of jojoba oil on a moisten cotton pad, and then I wash with the this. While I think this is great for sensitive skin, my HG cleanser is Mir's Cleansing Gel, although I do still remove my makeup first with jojoba. I prefer to use a "gentle" cleanser, and this two-step process really leaves my skin soft and clean.

Blush -Chantecaille - Whisper
agarber 10/10/2003 11:35:00 AM
I bought this blush based on all the reviews below, and this product didn't let me down. I like to have a flushed look, but nothing that screams, "I'm wearing makeup." This color is great for my light to medium skin, which is on the warm side. (BTW, I wear

Crème -Chantecaille - Real Skin SPF30 (reformulated)
agarber 10/16/2003 3:42:00 PM
I love Real Skin. I wear it in Bliss, and I want to try Glow as well. It is moisturizing and gives a natural finish to my skin. I recommend this only if you want very light natural coverage that evens out your skin tone. It won't cover blemishes, freckles or anything else. I love this foundation for how natural it looks and feels. Plus the SPF 30 is a great bonus -- no need to wear sunscreen. My only two complaints about this are that I go through it rather quickly (which is why I wear Chantecaille Future Skin sometimes because it last much longer!) and it also emphasizes flakes in my skin if I don't exfoliate well. However, those negatives are minor. I caution people with oily complexions to try this out first before buying though.

Lipstick -Chantecaille - Lipsheers
agarber 10/16/2003 3:35:00 PM
My lips are always dry and cracking and this is the best l/s I have found (tried everything from NARS and BB to Mac and Chanel). I like natural colors, but Chantecaille also makes great vibrant colors too. I can't say enough good things about these lipsheers. They are like silk.

Crème -Chantecaille - Future Skin
agarber 10/16/2003 3:32:00 PM
I can't believe that this foundation doesn't have a higher rating. I have normal to dry skin and have always hated wearing foundation, until I found Chantecaille. In this foundation, I wear Chamomile, and the coverage is natural, flawless and dewy. My skin glows! Plus, it is moisturizing and doesn't irritate my sensitive skin. If you use this foundation, please treat yourself to the $28 foundation brush. It works wonders with this. I don't mind the jar packaging because I dip my brush in and apply to my face. Yes, it is a bit expensive, but it lasts forever because you only use a small amount. If you have oily skin, I would imagine that you need to apply loose powder on top to set the foundation, or it might become too dewy. Also, the only downside is that the SPF is only 10 in FS, so I wear this in the winter and in the evenings. In the summer during the day, I love Chantecaille Real Skin SPF 30 (see my review there).

Makeup Brushes -Chantecaille - Foundation brush
agarber 10/9/2003 11:31:00 AM
This brush works wonders with Real Skin and Future Skin. It is smaller than most (such as Trish) so it gets into the corners around my nose and eyes better than other foundation brushes. It provides smooth coverage and good control.

Conditioner -Mastey - Frehair Detangler
agarber 10/9/2003 10:32:00 AM
This is my new holy grail conditioner. Along with Mastey's Traite shampoo, my color-treated hair is soft, clean and smooth. I just love how this makes my hair feel. Frehair is a light conditioner that helps detangle and smooth dry hair. I hate heavy conditioners and am very picky about hair products. I also love that this has no harsh chemicals.

Shampoo -Mastey - Traite Shampoo
agarber 10/9/2003 10:29:00 AM
Wow! I am very picky about shampoos because I spend too much money on highlights and haircuts. Anyway, I tried this given all the raves, and it hasn't let me down. It is more of milky shampoo that doesn't lather up much, but it definitely leaves my hair feeling clean and soft. Plus it has no harsh chemicals, which is a huge bonus!! Mastey makes great conditioners too -- see my other review.

Skincare - Face -Chantecaille - Flower Harmonizing Cream
agarber 10/9/2003 7:30:00 AM
I think Chantecaille makes a wonderful line of skincare. It is the only thing I will consider using outside of Mir -- both are botanical based with only natural ingredients. I was in search of a moisturizing to help out my dry skin, and I really love this product. It smells divine and makes my skin soft, especially under makeup. If you have super dry skin, this might not be enough moisture alone, but it is great for sensitive, normal-to-dry skin like mine.

Blush -Chantecaille - Aquablush in Radiance
agarber 10/9/2003 7:27:00 AM
I agree with the other review here. I can't believe more people haven't raved about this product!! It truly is the best shimmer stick out there! The MA has put it on me twice now with my Frivilous blush stick, and I am saving up to buy it. I wouldn't describe this color as a blush -- it is more of a highlighter that truly adds radiance to blush or bronzer. I use on my cheek bones and brow arch. It gives a natural glow that is beautiful. Be forwarned thought: It costs almost $40.
