I used spiro for a little over a year. I used it for the huge hormonal cysts I was getting on my chin and cheeks. They would take months to heal and left pigmented scars. I started out on 75mg but was still getting cysts so I increased to 100mg. I really didn't have any side effects. My period was weird for a month but then it regulated. I was still getting small cysts every other month but it seemed manageable. Over the year my cysts got bigger and more frequent (only like 2 per month but when it takes months to heal...that's too many). I increased my dose to 125mg but was still getting the big cysts. My period also became pretty messed up when I increased the dose. At this point I decided to stop the spiro and try another round of accutane (I took my first round in 2001). That is what I'm on now and I'm praying it'll buy me another 5-10 years. Spiro really did help quiet things down but it just didn't stop those annoying cysts!

Eyeliner -Urban Decay - 24-7 Glide-On Eye Pencil in Zero
rated 2 of 5

I was disappointed with this product. I paid the high price in hopes that it would stay put on my waterline but it did not make it over 30 minutes. I thought this eyeliner was no better than the ones I pay $5 for at Walmart. I should have heeded the board reviews!

Eyeliner -L'Oreal - Le Kohl Pencil-Onyx

I like this eyeliner except the fact this does not last long on my waterline (maybe 20 minutes!). It lasts long on my top lids but since I line my entire eyes often I probably will not repurchase.

Concealers -Lancome - Maquicomplet (Complete Coverage Concealer)
rated 5 of 5

I really love this concealer. I use the color called "corrector". I think it's called that because it has a yellow tone to it to "correct" red spots. At first it looks a little yellow but quickly blends with my skin tone (I am actually yellow/olive toned). Yes it is very expensive but when it beautifully hides a huge red/brown pimple (or hyper-pigmentation left from a pimple) I am not really regretful of the cost. I should note that I have not really used many other concealers before (one or two drug store brands) so I don't have much to compare my experience to.

Eye Shadow -Revlon - Illuminance Creme Shadow Quad - Precious Metals
rated 3 of 5
agapeteam 10/1/2011 1:50:00 AM

These were ok. They looked beautiful in the package but didn't spread very evenly on my lids (clumpy and harder than I expected to smooth out). Also, it did crease a little on me but it took two seconds to smooth out in the bathroom). I do think using these colors as a base makes a powder shadow pop more so I will probably always use them with a powder shadow over it.

Treatments -Unlisted Brand - Vitex

9/27/11: I really wanted to like vitex but it was not for me (I think). I took it trying to help my PMS symptoms- depressed, irritable, very emotional, and cystic acne (2-4 cysts that last for weeks and scar). Unfortunately after 2.5 months I became very dizzy on an almost constant basis so I stopped taking it. I was terrified because the dizziness actually lasted for 2 more months after stopping the vitex. I saw several docs and even had an MRI (one thought I might have MS!!) but nothing came up. Of course none of the docs knew anything about vitex or its possible side effects. I cannot say definitively if the vitex was the cause of the dizziness but it was the ONLY thing in my routine that I changed so....because of this I am saying that it did not work for me (and I will not try it again). I really want to do things naturally but it can be so hard when there's not much research or regulation. This was just my experience. 2/8/13: I wanted to add that since writing this review I found out my dizziness is related to migraines. I don't think it was directly caused by the vitex. Hormonal changes are notorious for causing migraines so I think that had something to do with it. If you are not prone to migraines I wouldn't worry too much.

Conditioner -L'Oreal - Nature's Therapy Mega Moisture Nurturing Creme
rated 3 of 5
agapeteam 9/18/2011 5:25:00 PM

I bought this trying to rehydrate my hair. I don't color or style my hair but became very straw-like after using a shampoo/conditioner meant to give "beach waves." This works pretty good but I feel like my hair starts to get tangely by the end of the day. I also bought Neutrogena Triple Moisture conditioner and that ended up working better for me.

I bought this trying to find something to get rid of my hormonal cystic acne (the only type I really get). It did not work....but I haven't really found anything that does :(

Conditioner -Neutrogena - Triple Moisture daily deep conditioner
rated 5 of 5
agapeteam 9/18/2011 2:06:00 AM

I really like this conditioner! I have medium-thick, wavy-straight hair that is not colored or styled but it began getting very dry (straw-like) and tangely when I was using a shampoo/conditioner for "that tosselled beach look." I feel like this conditioner has been helping to rehydrate my hair. I have been using it with an herbal essence moisturizing shampoo I had on hand so I cannot say how this conditioner would work with its combo shampoo. I can't say much either way for the smell- it's not amazing but not bad.

Conditioner -Matrix - Biolage - Conditioning Balm
rated 2 of 5
agapeteam 8/25/2011 12:33:00 AM

This conditioner did not really work for my medium-thick, wavy, untreated hair. My hair looks dull and feels kind of dry. I used with Biolage Volume shampoo so maybe I should have tried it with the moisture shampoo.

Sunscreen -La Roche Posay - Anthelios XL Face Fluid TINTED SPF 50+
rated 5 of 5
agapeteam 7/16/2011 1:51:00 PM

I absolutely LOVE this sunscreen! I have used the untinted version of this ss for about 2 years and have loved the protection but was constantly getting comments about how pale I looked (people would ask if I was feeling sick!). I am so happy I tried the tinted version as it gives me a healthy glow along with great ss protection. It looks good on its own but I find it gives me the most natural color if I mix it with a bit of the untinted version to lighten it up just a bit. This ss leaves no shine on my face either (I do live in CO- a dry state).

Shampoo -Clairol - Herbal Essences "Tousle Me Softly" Shampoo
rated 2 of 5
agapeteam 7/16/2011 1:44:00 PM

I used the shampoo and conditioner for tihs product. The first day of washing my hair was actually pretty nice but it felt totally scraggly and dried out by the 2nd day. I have soft, uncolored, un-blow dried hair and this shampoo/conditioner makes it feel like straw. Maybe the idea is to add texture to your hair so that natural waves will come out? Since I like to wash my hair every 2-3 days I will not be repurchasing.

Skincare - Body -Unlisted Brand - Parissa Wax Strips Legs and Body
rated 3 of 5
agapeteam 4/10/2011 9:13:00 PM

These wax strips are ok if you are in a time crunch or don't feel like making a mess with wax. They don't pull out all the hair (on me) and they don't work well if you try to use them after one pull. I only use these if I'm in a bind and a bad wax is better than no wax. I have also tried Sally Hansen wax strips and bought these thinking they might be better but they seemed like the exact same (just more $).

Bronzers -Origins - sunny disposition bronzer
rated 5 of 5
agapeteam 3/1/2011 2:05:00 AM

I have used this bronzer for years and I love it. I am very pale and only need a light dusting to get a healthy glow. My friends (who always tease me about being pale) have said it looks very natural.

Conditioner -Pantene - Curly Hair Series-Dry to Moisturized
rated 2 of 5
agapeteam 2/24/2011 6:31:00 PM

I have wavy hair and have been using this for years along with the shampoo. They changed the bottle/line a couple months ago and I think they must've changed the ingredients too because this just doesn't work for my hair anymore! It used to leave my hair silky and shiny and now I feel like my roots are greasy while my ends are dried out. I've tried just using the conditioner with a clarifying shampoo from Suave which is better for my roots but the rest of my hair still feels dry but with a film over it- it looks dull too! I spent about $10+ buying these and I'd like to use the rest of the bottles but I just hate the way my hair looks and feels!
