Treatments -Clarins - Younger Longer Balm
rated 2 of 5
Tess35 5/31/2012 4:55:00 AM

I tried this several times but I always have a pimple or two the morning after. I am not willing to go through purging as I won't risk scarring my skin. So if it's a phase that I have to go through, this one will end up in the dustbin. I'll still try a few times but I don't have a good vibe on this one.

Treatments (Eye) -Sisley - Sisleya Eye and Lip Contour Cream
rated 5 of 5
Tess35 5/31/2012 4:33:00 AM

I discovered this gem at 29 and I am now 40 yrs old. There are times that I stray bec I don't really see any effect in my eye area. But the minute I use other brands, my eyes get lined and puffy. And so over the past decade, I only concluded one thing- I don't see any results with this e/c because my eye area DOES NOT CHANGE at all in the past 11 years! They say it sits on top of the skin and doesn't get absorbed at all. That's true but for some reason, it gets its job done beautifully. Lately I notice one horizontal line starting to form b/w my eyes and so my only gripe is not being wise enough to include that area when I apply this e/c in the past, but I just started and I will see how it goes. It is also fab as a lip moisturizer. I have used a lot of eye prods in the past- la prairie, la mer, guerlain, EL, Clarins and my latest are Skinceuticals AGE eye cream, AOX eye serum and eye balm and some other brands I don't even bother to review- and I still come back to Sisleya at the end of the day. I use this religiously in the PM only and anything else for the AM (most of the time I don't even bother in the AM as I am using a good moisturizing serum- Clarins Gen6). I am 40 yrs old, quit smoking 6 yrs ago (after smoking for 17 yrs) and I am currently seeing a doctor as I have trouble sleeping. But my eyes are vitually unlined with zero crows feet and zero eyebags/discoloration and I have not had any botox. The first thing people notice abt me when they learn my age is my eyes.

Scrubs -St. Ives - Smoothing In-Shower Exfoliating Body Polish, Mineral Therapy
rated 5 of 5
Tess35 2/23/2012 2:43:00 AM

I got this as GWP of my daughter's Tresemme shampoo from Guardian. I use this in the shower with no much expectation but I was impressed. My body does not tolerate scrub well so I am careful not to rub much. The product is quite waxy but it melts fast in my hands. It feels like any body wash/scrub in the shower but after shower I noticed that my skin was truly silky- I only feel this silky feeling when I use L'Occitane Amade Milk Concentrate, the only diff is St. Ives body scrub silky effect lasts for 24hrs. (Yes I shower once a day only). This is the real deal. I will be ditching my L'Occitane Amade Shower Oil for this.

Cleansers -La Roche Posay - physiological micellar solution
rated 5 of 5
Tess35 2/23/2012 12:22:00 AM

This is my most favorite cleansing product. It is very comfortable to use and quite hydrating as well. I use this as a MU remover before foaming cleanser. I put a little amount on my palm and gently massage my face and neck before washing it off. I also had some late nights out with my gf's and used this product alone with cotton pad before hitting the bed and never had any issues with my skin the next morning. I tried Vichy and it is light years away from LRP.

Cleansers -Vichy - Purete Thermale Cleansing Micellar Lotion for face and eyes
rated 2 of 5
Tess35 2/23/2012 12:09:00 AM

I have been using La Roche Posay Micellar Physiological Solution up until they pull it out of Singapore. My LRP SA recommended this Vichy Thermale and with a 20% discount, I bought a bottle. Wrong move. I use micellar solutions before foaming wash. I put a little amount on my palm and wet my whole face and neck with it, massage a little then wash away with water, followed by a mild foaming wash. Vichy is painful to the eyes and causes dryness on my upper lip. I also find that I have some blackheads and occassional acne with it. The skin on my fingers also started itching a little since using this solution. I never encountered this problem with La Roche Posay. Price-wise they're not far from each other.

Sunscreen -Skinceuticals - Physical Fusion SPF 50
rated 3 of 5
Tess35 8/22/2011 1:04:00 AM

This is very light and disappears in your skin. It may emphasize skin flakes but that's not a turn off to me. I fell in love with its texture the minute it touches my face. My biggest gripe however is my super sensitive skin. My face becomes very itchy and red with this ss. I cannot comment on its actual UV fighting criterion as I cannot use it long enough to test that. But overall, I think it is a superior formula for most people whose skin is not very sensitive.

Skincare - Face -Skinceuticals - Blemish Control Gel
rated 1 of 5
Tess35 1/21/2011 8:47:00 PM

This is crap. Didn't do anything to my adult acne and does not get absorbed at all- it just sits there. LP blemish control will blow this away. I'd rather spend my money on something that costs a lot but works great than waste it on a cheapo that does not do a thing.

Treatments -La Prairie - Cellular Purifying System - Blemish Control
rated 1 of 5
Tess35 1/21/2011 3:12:00 AM

This is my most expensive mistake. I got sucked into hype. This sticky serum stings and with twice a day use, forms a scabbing around the acne area. But when the scabbing peels off, what's left is still a normal pimple scar. This serum has no good effect whatsoever. I relied on it and in return I got 3 acne marks on my face. I am better off with my usual- cold compress on the acne and Clindoxyl (unbeatable duo)

Lotions/ Creams -La Prairie - La Prairie - Cellular Hand Cream
rated 5 of 5
Tess35 1/21/2011 2:56:00 AM

I have been using Caudalie hand cream along with C&E Gardeners. Although Caudalie is a little greasy even after it dried up, I like it as it polishes my cuticles nicely. C&E gets absorbed okay but I tend to get acne when I touch my face or hair, w/c I normally do. I was quite contented until the lady at the LP counter gave me a 15ml sample of this hand cream.. and oh it was unbelievable. I use a small amount- slightly smaller than a pea. And my dry hands turn into silky soft duo. The fine lines tend to disappear too making them younger looking. This is quite an experience. Highly recommended.

Treatments (Eye) -Guerlain - super-aqua EYE
rated 5 of 5
Tess35 2/11/2010 4:47:00 AM

I couldn't believe I passed this up. I got a 5ml GWP of this eye serum and I left it stuck there in my dresser for about 1-2 years. I am currently using a to-die-for spf25 moisturizer from SheerSecret. I love everything about it except for the fact that it emphasizes my fine lines under the eyes. I am not willing to give it up. My sisleya e/c although too rich is not helping and I was desperate until I decided to try this serum. This is serumy rich but really is very effective. I got no fine lines with this..really. I will go back to guerlain counter and buy the retail size, I just hope that they didn't discontinue this product. I am ditching my clarins eye serum for this stuff.

Powder -Clarins - Shine Stopper
rated 1 of 5
Tess35 5/4/2009 4:04:00 AM

This is the new addition to Clarins' line of powders. It is a transluscent compact powder that is supposed to absorb oil and everything about it sucks. The oil-control ability is average- it is actually good but it makes your complexion ugly. It emphasizes my pores, dries up my skin and gives the lurid corpse look. And my skin itch big time. Clarins regular compact powder is the best there ever is. And this new addition is a mistake!!!

Loose Powders -Cle de Peau - Loose Powder
rated 5 of 5
Tess35 5/4/2009 3:45:00 AM

Beautiful. More so than La Mer. Among my powders, with exception of Sisley and with highway-robbery price aside, I like this one the most. Makes me look very fine. I bought refill only as I have so many empty cute powder tubs. And as with any l/p, I find it's applied best with MAC 187 (yes, the foundation brush).

This and Sisleya are the only e/c that can touch my eye area. Officially.

Sunscreen -Obagi - C-Sunguard SPF 30
rated 5 of 5
Tess35 5/4/2009 3:22:00 AM

The first week I use this product, I couldn't believe how good it is. No clogged pores, no oily t-zone, no oil-spilling pores- just nice, even, smooth skin. The best primer too with no heavy residue that is budget-friendly. But because I have been taken in the past by other s/s that were good but eventually turned hateful, I waited 4 months to see if my feelings will change about Sunguard. And my feelings are still the same. I loooooooove it. I am officially ditching Clarins UV 40 for this baby.

Treatments -Skinceuticals - Phloretin CF
rated 5 of 5
Tess35 5/4/2009 3:08:00 AM

I bought this treatment together with PrevageMD (by Allergan) and have test driven each 'alone' for 2 months. I find that my skin is extra refined and even toned with once-a-day use of Phloretin CF. And it looks truly youthful after I wash at night. But I easily get clogged pores if I use it straight for several days, most especially if I use siliconey moisturizer on top of it. Third, I perspire a lot and when I do, my eyes feel stingy for some reason- an experience that is very common with any vit. c products that I use. (So it is not unique to Skinceu alone :)) Overall, it's still the best AM serum out there
