Misc Beauty Tools -Clarisonic - Pro Skincare Brush

I have been using this brush at least five days a week for about 6-7 months now. The reason I wanted this was because I was having some issues with some acne on my forehead and clogged pores on my nose and chin. After one week I was freaking out because I thought this was making my acne worse. I went back to where I had originally bought this and there was actually a Clarisonic consultant on site (talk about good timing!). The consultant listened to my story and she explained to me that my skin was actually going through a phase. The brush actually brings up all the bad stuff in your skin to get it out as soon as possible. With that in mind I went back home and gave it another two weeks and I am so glad I did! My skin is so clear and smooth! I know some people said their smoothness didn't last, but mine seems like it has. I get less pimples now, and when I do they go away pretty quickly. My clogged pores are almost gone, but there are still some one my nose, so I have to use pore strips for that area. The customer service is also phenomenal! I had dropped my brush on the floor and it stopped working. So I called up customer service and they were very understanding. They sent me another brush free of charge and I sent back the broken brush. It didn't cost a thing for me to send back the old brush or to get the new one! Seriously though, if you can afford this, get it! It is a steep price, but this will last you quite a while and is well worth it!

Liquid -Revlon - PhotoReady Makeup

Overall: I am actually on the fence about this product. The color actually matched me pretty well. After the product dries it has a pretty nice finish to it, I didn't see any sparkles on my face but I did on my fingers. One of the things I didn't like was that the product is not full coverage like it claims. It is more like a tinted moisturizer. Also if you don't but on a moisturizer before the product, it will cake up horribly! Price: In my opinion it is expensive for a drugstore foundation, and not worth the price. Packaging: One of the things I was most excited for was the pump! It is great! But the lid to the bottle is what bothers me. It doesn't really stay on. I will not buy this product again, mostly because it doesn't have full coverage like it says, it can get very oily, and it is expensive for a drugstore foundation. EDIT: I didn't want to give up on this and tried something new. I applied this with my fingers and then applied stay matte powder by clinique, and it looks really good! So I think I'm going to keep this.

Moisturizers -Cetaphil - Daily Facial Moisturizer SPF15
rated 2 of 5

Overall: i just started to look for a daily moisturizer with SPF and decided on this. The product itself is very creamy and slightly scented. But this is not for me. It breaks me out everytime I use it. I know it is this product specifically because I would stop using for about a month and skin would be clear, but 2 days after I begin to use again I get several pimples and even a few cysts. Packaging: Not bad, it is a pump and I didn't have problems with it clogging up. Price: Can't remember right off the top of my head but I think it was about $10.00. Which I think is reasonable for a moisturizer. Will NOT buy again!

Concealers -Bobbi Brown - Corrector

This product really is so-so. I like how there is a wide variety of colors. The consistency is very creamy. But no matter what I do the product creases and settles into my lines. It gets very annoying. If you have very dark circles under your eyes like me, I would stay away from this. It only covers them some what. Also for the price it doesn't last very long in the pan. The packaging is fine, nothing to horrible about that. Over all will not buy again

Concealers -Smashbox - Camera Ready Full Coverage Concealer

Like the person below me said, it isn't full coverage, its better for redness around the mouth. It isn't easy to build, but it can be buildable. It's just okay, good for acne scars, but it did nothing for my circles. This is a lousy review haha, but the other reviews have it down pat and I would just be a broken record.

Treatments -Aussie - 3 Minute Miracle Deeeeep

I'm on my second bottle of this stuff, and I will continue to purchase this. It just makes my hair so soft and shiny, and it is pretty cheap! Around this time of year my hair gets dry and as my guy says, very scratchy. But this conditioner fixes that problem right up. I use this two times a week to keep my hair moisturized.

Liquid -Maybelline - SuperStay Makeup - New Version

I really wanted to like this, I really did. The finish of this foundation is perfect! Dewy finish, doesn't settle into lines, doesn't cake up, blendable, buildable, the works. But there is one huge problem... this is ORANGE! Very orange, made me very sad because it is nearly HG. I got this in classic ivory, and it just looked like I got a spray tan, not exactly the look I was going for. It does last a while on the face, I don't know if it is 24 hours though, but most of the day. It isn't a non transfer foundation like it claims. I guess I'll have to stick with revlon CS for the time being.

Eye Shadow -Revlon - Matte eyeshadow

Usually I love all things revlon, (except mascaras, darn you doubletwist!!!!) but these shadows were another let down. I have peach sorbet and vintage lace, and both are very chalky looking with hardly any pigmentation. Those colors are somewhat skin tone colors, which is what I wanted, but the chalky-ness got to me. They just make my eyes look weird. Maybe I should try the more colorful shadows, but I just don't know.

Primer/ Corrector -Rimmel - Fix and Perfect Foundation Primer
rated 2 of 5
SpecialRed 12/16/2009 9:43:00 PM

I can't really compare this to another primer since this is my first, but when I wear this under my foundation I notice a huge difference. My pores did appear smaller, and foundation application was easier. But there is a huge factor keeping me from using or buying this again. I don't know if it is because I am so fair, but it turned me orange. I can't believe I didn't notice this at first but when I first wrote this review I didn't notice , but that was because I would do my make up routine in my room. Then the other day I went into the bathrooms at school and noticed my face looked orange, and noticed this today as I was doing my face routine. I am so embarrassed, I have been walking around looking like an oompa loompa when I was thinking I looked fabulous. So let down :(

Concealers -BeneFit Cosmetics - Erase Paste in Fair
rated 5 of 5
SpecialRed 10/6/2009 9:37:00 PM

The only concealer in the world that can cover up my horrible under-eye circles, defiantly my HG concealer. I was so tired of people constantly telling me I look sick when I felt fine. I have circles because of my heredity, so it wasn't like I could sleep off my circles. I always had trouble with concealers drying up or caking up under my eye, or settling into fine lines (and I'm 17 for crying out loud!! Argh!!!). With this wonderful product, I instantly looked more awake. Thankfully a little goes a long way, otherwise I probably wouldn't have even bought this. I know the packaging isn't really sanitary, but I think as long as you keep your brush clean (or the plastic scoop that comes with the concealer) everything would be just peachy. I know the concealer is a little greasy, but I think as long as you set it with a good translucent powder it would be fine, but everyone is different. If I ever run out of this great product, I would repurchase in a heartbeat!

Makeup Brushes -E.L.F. - Blending Brush
rated 5 of 5
SpecialRed 10/6/2009 8:59:00 PM

This brush is fantastic! I love it so much! It is only a dollar and has very very soft bristles. Like any other brush it will shed at first, but it is goes away after a wash. It is great for blending out color or adding color in your crease, and it isn't to big or too small. I have a recommendation for those who may not like this brush. I have noticed that sometimes when I buy more than one of this brush, some of them can be worse than others just like it. So I would buy at least three before making the decision on this brush.

Skincare - Face -MAC - Fix+
rated 4 of 5
SpecialRed 9/1/2009 9:17:00 PM

I have to admit, at first I hated this product. I tried using it as a primer before I put on my mineral foundation, and it seemed to make it look like I just plastered it on my face. I didn't want to give up hope on it since it got so many great reviews, so I let it sit on my desk until one morning I came up with an idea that has probably already been mentioned :) I'm not sure how it would work with liquid foundation, but this method works really well with my EDM. What I do first is squirt the product in the lid about 4-5 times, then I put in enough mineral foundation so it creates a nice smooth paste. Paste sounds harsh but you know what I mean :) Then I take a brush with a flat top and dip it in the paste and then I stipple it on my face and blend. And wow! What a difference! It made my skin so dewy looking, and that whole day I got so many compliments on how good my skin looked. I must say though, this product does seem to cost a lot, and can run out fast. If I had to I could live without this product, which is why I gave it a 4, but I really do like this stuff!

Brows -E.L.F. - Eyebrow Kit
rated 5 of 5
SpecialRed 8/5/2009 4:18:00 PM

I love this product so much! I have to admit, I thought I was going to be disappointed with it because it didn't look like it came with much, but the wax and powder just got a slight dent on both sides just about a week ago and I have been using this almost every single day since May. The wax is perfect for keeping my unruly hairs in line and it is very pigmented, so be careful while using it or your brows will be made really dark, and the powder is great for filling in the bare spots. I love the little applicator it comes with too, its very helpful and it feels like their studio brushes, only a lot smaller. Will definitely buy again!

Moisturizers -Nivea - Creme
rated 5 of 5
SpecialRed 7/1/2009 1:00:00 PM

I have very dry, sensitive skin. I was looking for a moisturizer to make my skin soft and hydrated without spending to much money. So I used the moisturizers in the drugstores only. I became very disappointed with most, they were to watery and some made my skin drier! Then I came across Nivea Creme. This is the best moisturizer ever!!!! I use the creme during winter or whenever my skin is super dry, because during summer my skin becomes more normal and then I use the Nivea Soft, which leaves your skin so so soft. My only con about this is that if you use too much your skin will be a grease ball and will not soak in the skin that great, so use only a little bit and you are set. I will continue to buy this, but I don't think I would be running out anytime soon since it lasts forever.

Concealers -Sonia Kashuk - Hidden Agenda Concealer Kit
rated 3 of 5
SpecialRed 6/28/2009 2:26:00 AM

I think overall this product is ok at best. I use this kit to hide the circles under my eyes. It has nice coverage, but it cakes very quickly, especially if you use the setting powder that comes with it. I have dry skin and I know that moisturizing will help, and that's the thing, I do moisturize under my eyes before applying. I don't know if my problem is because I use mineral foundation with this and should avoid putting mineral foundation in that area, or if I need more moisture under my eyes. Either way I will continue using this product until I find a better concealer. But I would probably not buy this again.
