Fragrances -Lavanila - vanilla grapefruit

I got this perfume a few months ago with the voucher from my scent sampler. I already knew pretty much that this was the one I wanted before I even got the sampler, but I couldn't resist all those little perfumes and the fact that it was $4 cheaper than just outright buying the perfume. Anyway...I love this. It manages to smell just like vanilla and grapefruit, yet unlike either together. It doesn't scream to me vanilla or grapefruit, just 'wow, I smell good' My boyfriend even commented how much he liked this on me. It lasts a very long time, too. All in all, one of my favorite perfumes (well, this year at least)

Lotions/ Creams -Yes To Carrots - C Through the Dry Spell Deliciously Rich Body Butter

Wow, is this stuff greasy. It takes *forever* to absorb, and while it does, I'm slippery and bits of fuzz and cat hair stick to me, which is unattractive. The smell is ok...nothing that bothers me but it's not amazing I don't feel like it moisturizes well, either. And it's quite expensive (for me, at least). I won't buy this again. It really doesn't do much except annoy me..

This lotion totally changed my skin. Yeah...it's awesome. Smoothed me out and helped with my skintone and it was just great. I hate the scent, but I can live with it until it goes away. I would definitly repurchase, if only I could find this someplace again.

Misc Beauty Tools -Clean & Clear - Oil Absorbing Sheets

I prefer the Palladio rice paper because I just think it makes me look better. Using these seems to form a sorta crust (ew!) on my skin around my nose when I use them, which then makes my concealor go on funny, which makes me touch my face more to try and make it look better, which makes me oilier. Nah. Not good, really. They certainly DO suck up the oil though. And they look really neat when you're all done. But the crust thing just isn't turning my crank. Call me crazy. But these aren't really *that* expensive, and considering how much of an hg they are for most people, I say try them. I still use mine from time to time, but not too often.

Top/Base Coats -Maybelline - Colorama - Frosty Pink (topcoat)
rated 5 of 5
RedNailPolish 9/15/2005 10:26:00 PM

Love this. Brightens up any color. It's basically a clear polish with teensy tiny pink glitter, so it doesn't look like glitter, but like "oh, your nails are pretty!" I always use this topcoat, and sometimes I just use it by itself. Lasts an ok amount of time, a little less than a week, but I'm wicked hard on my hands so it's to be expected. I've already repurchased this, and will continue to do so. I find it's a quite good alternative to my beloved (yet, alas, discountinued) OPI Sheer Enchantment. Try it over black nail polish, too. Rocks!

Eye Shadow -Jane - EyeZing In Deeply Green

I'm glad I got this at Big Lots for 99 cents. It looks really nice in the pot, and is nicely pigmented and lasts. But, on me, it's teal. I don't 'do' teal at all. So I don't wear this and wouldn't buy again. But I love all the rest of the eyezings I've tried.

Liquid -Revlon - ColorStay Makeup

First off, this smells funny. I work with a lady who must wear this, and I've always thought she smelled funny, and this (along with baby powder) is what she smells like. So that's a negative for me right off. I found that this foundation was very nice on my cheeks and chin, but very cakey on my forehead and nose, where I always have dry flakes. I didn't notice it staying on any longer than anything else, or being harder to take off than anything else. I do like the pump bottle alot though. Also, it's rather expensive for drugstore foundation, but I got a free cream blush with it, so it wasn't that bad of a deal.

Eye Shadow -Jane - Eye Zing - Down to Earth
rated 5 of 5

I guess I'm the odd one out, but I love this shadow. I use it only in the crease, with a light shimmery shadow as a wash, and it looks really nice and not overdone. I'm a ppp with red hair and green eyes, so most eveything looks overdone on me, anyway, but I'm glad to have found a crease shade that doesn't. I didn't have a problem with lack of pigmentation, but, then again, I'm used to drug store shadows, not higher-end ones. However, this does seem to be of very high quality, and it lasts ALL day on me (through 8 hours of work, then out at night, too) which is great. I would definitly reccomend this shade to other people with my coloring.

Lip Gloss -L'Oreal - Glam Shine -Seductress
rated 4 of 5
RedNailPolish 9/11/2004 12:23:00 AM

Gah. I spent $9 on a lipgloss. Almost the most expensive makeup I've ever bought...However, this is really very nice. The color looks nice on (green eyed, red haired ppp) and feels nice. Some other glosses (Rimmel Lip Vinyl) feel gross on to me, but this felt like my chapstick. It lasted well, and even when it wore off, it still left a pretty shimmer on my lips. It didn't taste like anything, tho I can't quite figure out what the scent is. But it doesn't bother me when it's on. Overall, great, but probably too expensive. I might buy it again if I feel like getting one lipgloss rather than an eyeshadow quad and a couple of Wet n' Wild nail polishes.

Lip Gloss -Rimmel - Vinyl Lip - Snog

I like the color alot, and the smell doesn't bother me. But I really hate how this feels on my lips. It seems very watery, but heavy and sticky even though it's so thin. It's very odd and difficult to describe, but it drives me nuts. The price isn't bad tho, and I bought it with a matching lipliner packaged together at Wal MArt for somthing like four dollars. So it's ok, but not great, and I won't buy it again or use it much.

Eye Shadow -Chanel - Shadowlights- Fusée
rated 5 of 5
RedNailPolish 8/19/2004 9:28:00 PM

This was my very first high end purchase, and I LOVE it! The case looks so classy, and the color is beautiful. I've worn it almost everyday for two weeks, and it makes my green eyes really pop. I only have two teensy complaints...The price is scary. $21.50 for an eyeshadow? eep. And the little sponge tip applicater is TINY and useless. But I don't really care much about that because I use brushes or fingers anyway. All in all, I love this, and will buy it again.

Polishes -Revlon - Super Top Speed in Firecracker
rated 5 of 5
RedNailPolish 8/19/2004 12:29:00 AM

I LOVE this color! As you can probably guess by my name, I like red nail polish :p , but I also like glitter, so this is perfect. It lasted five days on my hands with only a little touchup and some frech topcoat, and a week or more on my toes. I haven't tried removing it yet, tho, but I can see how it might be difficult, because both reds and glitters ussually are. But I think that's a small price to pay for such a pretty color. I'll buy this again and again. So me, too!

Mascara -Maybelline - Full 'N Soft Mascara
rated 3 of 5
RedNailPolish 8/18/2004 1:35:00 AM

I bought this one because of both the good reviews here, and the fact that it was one of the very, VERY few brown mascaras I could find. But I don't like it much. No matter what I do, it sticks my eyelashes together. It doesn't smudge, and they do feel soft, but it still sticks them together. I was hopinh for thickening, but was also hoping for a mascara that made my lashes thick by some method other than sticking the ones I've got together until I've got a dozen very thick ones, rather than many more not as thick ones. Noticed some lengthening, but that wasn't what I was looking for. Ugh...and the search for my HG continues...

Mascara -Maybelline - Great Lash Mascara Blackest Black
rated 5 of 5
RedNailPolish 8/18/2004 1:31:00 AM

This is the only black mascara I use. I really, truly love this stuff. The original isn't great, but this really is. I think the difference isn't the color, but the curved brush I bought, which makes it very unclumpy. But the color is great too. Normally I wear brown because it looks more natural on me, but when I want full out, smutty black full and long eyelashes, this is what I reach for. Very nice. Yeah, it may smudge a little, but I don't care because I only wear it when I'm doing smoky-ish eyes or smutty eyes, and if it smudges I think it just adds to that. This is really great and I would reccomend this, unlike the original.

Eye Shadow -Wet 'n' Wild - Mega Eyes - Fine Wink [DISCONTINUED]
rated 4 of 5
RedNailPolish 8/16/2004 12:38:00 PM

This color is very pretty, just not on me. High quality, too, and I like the packaging. I just can't get this to look quite right. I either look dirty or tired or feverish. I won't buy this shade again, but I will try the other shades of Wet 'n' Wild shadows out there.
