Masks -Nude Skincare - Deep Cleansing Mask
MsEmilyPark 12/5/2010 2:37:00 PM
I bought this from Sephora for $52 for a 75 ml / 2.5 fl. oz jar. It's a brown/tanish color (not surprising that it is made from kaolin clay). It smells earthy, but not in an unpleasant way in my opinion). It has tiny, gentle exfoliating pieces (the buriti). I find that I have to use a good toner to remove traces of the mask even after I wash it off with lukewarm water. It does gently exfoliate and remove excess oil. However, I do not think it's worth the $52 price tag. I enjoy my cheaper Mint Julep mask from Queen Helene much much more. PROS: made without - Parabens, Sulfates, Synthetic Fragrances, Synthetic Dyes, Petro-Chemicals, or Phthalates. Natural. Gently exfoliates CONS: Smell might put some people off. Costly. Jar (have to scoop out product with fingers or a scooper...the scooper is not provided). 'Refine oily, congested skin with cleansing clay and exfoliating organic buriti. Smooth onto cleansed, dry skin twice a week. After 10 minutes, remove with warm water. Biocompatible skincare"

Misc Beauty Tools -Unlisted Brand - Schick Intuition PLUS Razor

I usually use my Emjoi epilator, but on days where I'm going to shave, this is the product for me. I love that it makes shaving fast, easy, and pain-free. Although the replacement blades aren't the cheapest ones available, I think it's important to remember that the shaving bar is attached to the blade so you don't have to spend more money buying shaving cream. There are different formulations available - normal, dry, sensitive, etc. along with different scents available. I've tried several of formulas and notice no difference (but then again, I have normal skin so this might have something to do with it).

Cleansers -Oxy - Clinical Advanced Face Wash Acne Treatment 2% Salicylic Acid
MsEmilyPark 11/19/2010 12:05:00 PM
$8.99 for 5.1 fl oz / 150 mL at Walgreens. When I broke out after using Nars Sheer Glow Foundation... I tried using this. I didn't see any improvement in my acne. A liquidy, white cleanser in a pump bottle. It is good for people who have negative effects to benzoyl peroxide I suppose, but it wasn't for me. I find that it's quite drying (say hello to flaky patches). I definitely think using the Clarisonic Mia with a gentler face wash is much more effective. I would not repurchase it.

I love how refreshing this feels on my scalp. My scalp is prone to breakouts and I will use this once in awhile to make it better. It also as peppermint in it so it smells nice, too.

Masks -Laneige - Water Sleeping Pack
MsEmilyPark 11/18/2010 11:47:00 PM
I LOVE this product. You can buy it for about $20-$30 in the U.S. I like that it's water based instead of oil based. I have combination skin that breaks out easily. This product has never given me any problems. I adore the fresh fragrance. The consistency leans more towards a gel. If I end up drying out my skin too much from using too much benzoyl peroxide or sulfur/clay masks, I bring it back to life by spreading a thin layer of this mask onto my face before I go to bed. Unlike some other masks, you are supposed to spread it on (and a massage helps too) after you've cleansed and toned your face. Then, you're supposed to sleep in it and wake up to hydrated skin! If you are a side or stomach sleeper, this might be a problem for you if you fall asleep quickly (before the mask sets into your skin) because you can get the product over your pillow. I usually wait a bit before sleeping. It doesn't stain so no worries if you do get some on your pillowcase! I buy this mask every time I run out and always as for samples to take with me when I am going on vacation.

Makeup Brushes -MAC - #210 Precise Eye Liner (Fine Point)
MsEmilyPark 11/18/2010 2:08:00 PM
$17.50 for one brush (15 cm). I loved using this product with gel liners. It doesn't get any more love from me only because my HG eyeliner is Blinc's black eyeliner. It's a very precise, good quality brush overall.

Makeup Brushes -MAC - #217 Blending
MsEmilyPark 11/18/2010 2:03:00 PM
$22.50 for one brush (17 cm). A good brush to use if you have some heavy duty blending to do. Not as soft as the 224, but that's because I think they were intended for different blending purposes.

Makeup Brushes -MAC - 224 Tapered Blending (Windshield Wiper) Brush
MsEmilyPark 11/18/2010 2:01:00 PM
$29 for one brush (17 cm). My favorite blending brush from Mac. It is very soft (so if you used eye products that require work blending work, I'd suggest the Mac 217 instead). I use to when I do neutral eye looks and want a soft, natural look.

Makeup Brushes -Sephora - Sephora Collection Professional Platinum Air Brush #55
MsEmilyPark 11/18/2010 1:57:00 PM
$34 for one brush. I like to use it to apply liquid foundations such as MUFE mat velvet+. I don't like using it to apply foundations such as Nars sheer matte. Sephora's description: "What it is: A liquid foundation applicator designed to achieve a flawless, airbrushed look. What it does: Sephora Brand Professionnel Platinum Air Brush #55 is the secret to the smoothest foundation finish possible. This essential tool blends as it applies, allowing for a smooth, natural-looking result. Makeup Brushes -MAC - #187 Duo Fiber Face Brush (Stippling, Skunk Brush)
MsEmilyPark 11/18/2010 1:54:00 PM
$42 for one brush (18 cm). I also have the limited edition Hello Kitty short handle version of the 187. I suggest buying the regular Mac brushes. The short handled ones just don't compare. I like to use this if I am using a very pigmented product and/or I just want a very light application. I like the one I have, but I wouldn't purchase another one.

Makeup Brushes -MAC - 134 Large Powder Brush
MsEmilyPark 11/18/2010 1:51:00 PM
$52 for a large powder brush (17.5 cm). I must say, it definitely isn't cheap. However, it's very soft, doesn't smell strange, and is great for applying setting powder. It is one of my favorite Mac brushes. I wouldn't buy another one, but I definitely like the one I have.

Scrubs -Clean & Clear - Morning Burst In-Shower Facial
MsEmilyPark 11/18/2010 1:48:00 PM
I don't use this product frequently, but I do keep it around my bathroom. It smells like oranges and has a gritty, but creamy consistency. I don't recommend it for people with sensitive skin because it has AHA in it). You should apply sunblock after using this product if you are going outside (AHA makes your skin more susceptible to burning in sunlight... this effect lasts for weeks after you've used the product). I have combination skin that is slightly sensitive and I've never had a problem with AHA or this product. I use it maybe once every 2-4 weeks if I feel like my skin is getting too congested. (*Note: you should be showering with warm water to let the steam help open up your pores). I suggest you use a deep cleaning toner afterwards, because you can get some residue after using this product. I wouldn't wash your face with a cleanser after using this product because it is meant to take place of your cleanser and using an additional cleanser might dryout your face. How I use it: I splash warm water onto my face, spread a generous amount on (avoiding eyes & mouth of course), jump into my hot bath tub (I love LUSH bath bombs), let the steam work it's magic as I soak in the tub, and wash off the cleanser in the shower.

Treatments -Biore - Pore Cleansing Strips - Nose
MsEmilyPark 11/18/2010 1:42:00 PM
I usually keep a box of these in my bathroom (just in case!). The time you should leave them on depends on how amount of humidity in the environment you are in. During cold, dry winter months I leave it on for about half the time as warm, humid summer months. I have heard this is not the best product for your skin so you should do your own research before you decide to use them. Personally, I haven't had any bad reactions to it. I find that cleansing my face with warm water and leaving it wet before applying the strips is best. When the strip has completely dried and hardened, you peel it off (starting from the outside, in). If you have severe blackheads, I found using Mario Badescu's silver powder prior to using a nose strip helps even more. All in all, I like the product and would repurchase it.

Treatments (Eye) -Laneige - Perfect Renew Dual Touch Eyes
MsEmilyPark 11/18/2010 12:39:00 AM
$60 for a dual container that has 15 mL of the day eye cream and 15 mL of the night eye cream which makes a total of 1 fl oz. The day eye cream includes sun protection (spf 25/PA++). I personally love how most of Laneige products smell and this is no exception. I find that they smell fresh, clean, but no overpowering. $60 is definitely not cheap, but you're not supposed to use a lot of product under the eyes anyhow (this can cause milia, or tiny bumps). I bought it this summer and have been using it every morning and night and am still left with 75% left in each side. I don't know if it does anything drastic to under eye problems because... well I don't suffer from noticeable under eye circles or wrinkles. I am using this as a preventative treatment. Overall, I really like this product. I might repurchase it or I might try something else.

Scrubs -Clinique - 7 Day Scrub Cream Rinse Off Formula
MsEmilyPark 11/17/2010 7:13:00 PM
This is a gentle exfoliating scrub that is supposedly usable everyday. I hate the way it makes my skin feel. I have combination/oily skin and it makes my skin feel greasy. I will not be repurchasing this product.
