Liquid -BeneFit Cosmetics - "Hello Flawless!" Oxygen Wow
Mascarra 10/12/2012 3:53:00 AM
I basically purchased this to use along with my Hello Flawless Powder. This product helped my skin work better with the powder I admit and I would catch myself sometimes ending up using it alone cause I don't like a lot of products on my skin. However, it doesn't give much coverage on its own. So if you use this it would be better to follow it up with a sheer powder. This foundation was just 'okay' to me. The positives is that its easy to apply, for better coverage I suggest using a sponge (the disposable ones are cheap and work just as good as any). It is very light on your skin, and has SPF. The negatives would be that it tends to clog your skin and it gets melty, so I would not suggest this for women with Oily Skin. And lastly the price, I think $34 (not including tax) is a bit high for a foundation that at most times isn't best to use on its own. There are others products out there that work just as well, if not better, that cost less. Needless to say I will not be purchasing this again.

Powder -BeneFit Cosmetics - Hello Flawless!
Mascarra 10/12/2012 3:42:00 AM
I don't usually wear make up, the most would be eyeliner and lipstick. So since I was getting older I figured it was time to try. I walked into Sephora asking for the best powder that would be the least of a hassle to use since I don't normally use make up. This is what they suggested. Now, I admit when I first used it, I instantly liked it (perhaps since I had never used make up before, so I was probably over excited...). After trying it and having them showing me how to apply it I purchased it at Sephora for $34 (doesn't include tax). After using this for over a year here is what I can tell you honestly about this product: The pros would be that you can achieve different levels of coverage depending on how you choose to apply it. You can achive medium to heavy coverage if you choose to a apply it with a sponge, lighter coverage with a brush. It is very easy to apply. The packaging is very nice and it lasts a long time depending on how often you use it, I mean I used mine everyday and I still had some left over after a year. Now for the cons, despite the coverage, it can get cakey on some people, it did on me. And in some instances it tends to melt off so I would need to reapply often. It got to the point that I ended up purchasing the liquid foundation they have for this line and would apply that before the powder itself. While it did give me better coverage and made it look less oily, my skin felt heavy. Next con would be the price, considering the fact I had to end up buying a foundation to apply along with it, it just doesn't seem worth the money to me to be honest. I discovered products that cost less and work better with my skin. So all in all, if your skin works good alone with this then by all means stick with it cause it has SPF which is always good for the skin and it is convenient to get any type of coverage you want depending on application, but if not, there are better products out there I believe. I did not have a competely negative experience with this but it wasn't the the best for my skin so I won't be purchasing this again.

Misc Beauty Tools -Clarisonic - Mia2
Mascarra 10/11/2012 9:00:00 PM
Okay, now I know everyone loves this product. I just want to be completely honest with my experience with it so hopefully what happened to me doesn't happen to anyone else. I was skeptical about purchasing this cause of the price. After thinking it over for about half a year I finally caved in and purchased one in the really cute Hot Pink color. I have sensitive skin, always have. I have a fair complexion, hardly get pimples (except for the one that might pop up at that time of the month...), no visible enlarged pores or anything. The reason I decided to get the tool was because my brother and I started getting skin problems (pimples, skin started getting oily) once we moved here to the US, and I have never had a facial in my life. So a friend of ours suggested this tool saying it would save us time and money and that it would be basically be the best investment we ever made, I even went to a professional and asked if it was worth it, which they said if used properly it would be great for my skin since I probably haven't had a really deep cleaning done to my face. Okay so, I buy it. First time I use it, wow! My skin looks like its glowing, I can see when I use my toner there isn't even any dirt after. So I am thinking great right? Wrong. After using it for only three days, my skin started to feel wrong. And it started to look bad. But I figured since I was told my skin would go through a 'purging' I figured it was only normal since my skin was getting rid of all this gunk underneath. I stuck with it for a month, my face looked so horrible. Just break out after break out. Then it started to subside somewhat, so I was thinking that my skin would start to look awesome. Wrong again. So yes, no more breakouts, but then my nose started getting blackheads which I have never gotten before. The person I spoke to regarding it told me to stick with it for another month. I did. Nothing helped. I stopped using it completely and my skin healed up. But from using this tool (which I did not use everyday twice a day, that's too much even if they tell you its safe...), my pores are now HUGE, I got broken capillaries, the pores on my nose are now huge and I get blackheads. Basically it was the worst thing I ever did to my skin. Now I am trying to get my face to heal and get things back to somewhat normal. I am not saying do not purchase this, by no means. My boyfriend and I both got one and it works well for him. It all depends on your skin, if you have good skin, YOU DON'T NEED THIS TOOL. Exfoliate another way that is less traumatizing to your skin. Its true most of those who try it experience break outs cause it brings all the dirt and things underneath your skin to the surface, but if you have given it a good two months or so and your skin doesn't improve, time to get the receipt and return it. And also if it works great for you then awesome but limit how many times you use it within a week. Exfoliating your skin is something that is good, in limitation. Also if you experienced the same thing as me and want ways to undo it let me know. Perhaps I can help. I really wanted this to work for me but I guess it just wasn't meant to be. Will never purchase again.

Mascara -Kiss Me - HEROINE MAKE long and curl mascara (black)
Mascarra 8/23/2012 6:03:00 AM
This is my HG Mascara. I'm Asian. I have very short, straight, and few lashes. Most of the time I would get Lash Extensions but after some time it became too costly for me and when I moved I could not find anyone who could do the extensions the way I needed them to. So looking for a really good lengthening mascara was something I had been doing for a long time. I tried every kind I had heard good reviews about, while they would lengthen, there were more cons than pros. Some were too drying, clumpy or could not hold a curl and would flake. I had heard about this mascara for the longest time, but was always hesitant because some claim that there are fakes from sellers over the net (which is where most people buy it from), and it would take a good two weeks before I actually would get the item. So right from the start it was discouraging. But one day, I actually found a store that was selling it. It's a tad bit more pricey than what you would pay on Ebay or Sasa, but to get it on the spot was great so I could try it immediately. I was so glad I did! This mascara... - Lengthens lashes - Lasts all day long - Is waterproof, doesn't smudge, doesn't flake - Curls lashes - Is easy to apply Now the packaging isn't the best to some people, but I happen to like the new packaging. Its not in the maroon tube anymore, its actually pink and black now and looks way cuter. And like I said I payed a higher price but it was worth it to get my HG Mascara in the spot. The only bump I encountered with this mascara was removing it, it seemed difficult at first, but all I did was purchase eye make up remover and used a lash comb and that did the trick. I might purchase their make up remover in the future and even try the volumizing mascara along with mine. Overall, I am happy with this, and will definitely repurchase. I can't believe I can finally say I found my HG Mascara. Woot!

Lip Treatments -Christian Dior - Addict Lip Glow Color Reviver Balm
Mascarra 8/9/2012 3:44:00 AM
I first heard about this from a beauty blog I was reading. I went to Sephora and decided to check it out. First thing I noticed was the price. Pricey? Yes. Worth it? ABSOLUTELY. I got to try it prior to purchasing it and really liked the way it accentuated my natural lip color. So I gave in and bought it. Now, I can't imagine not ever having it. This balm moisturizes my lips and gives them a really smooth texture. Application is really easy. Its great to use before lipstick application, it is also great being used alone on lips. It gives my lips a natural and healthy pink hue. It has SPF 10, which is always a plus for me with any lip balm. And lastly, the packaging is gorgeous. The only thing that might be a negative would be the price cause it might not last you that long depending on how much you apply lip balm on (I apply lip balm a lot), but then again I still think its worth the price. I can happily say I would definitely repurchase this. Its now one of my HGs for my lips!

Lip Treatments -Philosophy - Kiss Me Tonight
Mascarra 8/9/2012 3:23:00 AM
This Lip Therapy Balm totally made a believer out of me. I remember when I was first asked to purchase this for a friend of mine. I was expecting something way bigger. I mean for the price when I saw its size, I thought it was too expensive. The woman assisting me convinced me to purchase two since I figured it would not last my friend long. When I gave it to her she said she didn't need the extra and said I could return it instead but she told me I should at least try it. So I did, so here I am almost a month later of using it and I think I have fallen in love! This Lip Therapy Balm is now one of my HGs. Which believe me is rare for me. It moisturizes really well, it smells good, and despite the packaging being really small, it surprisingly lasts so long. I use this at night after I wash up and it keeps my lips moisturized, smooth and soft till the next day. I also love the way it helps in restoring the pinkish appearance of my lips. I am really glad I gave this a try. I will definitely be repurchasing this, it's now actually a must for me. Don't let the price turn you off ladies, give this product a chance and you might be pleasantly surprised.

Lip Treatments -eos - Smooth Sphere Organic Lip Balm in Honeysuckle Honeydew
Mascarra 8/3/2012 4:41:00 AM
I had purchased this along with the hand lotion and the first thing that got me when I opened it up was the smell. The Honeysuckle Honeydew smell was really yummy, it wasn't too overpowering. Then the packaging was adorable. It wasn't sticky and glided on my lips with ease. So I was really happy with it...for about four days. As I used it more and more, I realized I needed to keep on reapplying it often. I figured it was partly because I loved the way it smelled, but I soon realized it wasn't moisturizing my lips well. It started to actually dry them out more. I really wanted to like this balm because of how wonderful it smells and how cute the packaging is, it feels nice on your lips but does not help moisturize them at all. This balm only helps retain whatever moisture you have in your lips but does not add any. So overall I will not be purchasing this again, cause I really need a nourishing and moisturizing lip balm.

Lip Treatments -Blistex - Deep Renewal
Mascarra 7/31/2012 10:30:00 PM
I got this about more than half a year ago. I really wanted to like this product, I used it everyday for a month (I constantly use lip balm), it did moisturizer my lips, I'll give it that. But I need to point out I reapply lip balm a lot. I did not see any change in the condition of my lips. And the other thing I didn't like about it was the smell and taste of it, to me, it was just really awful. It's okay for moisturizing but I know there are other ones out there way better for the same price. Won't be using this ever again.

Lipstick -Kat Von D - Painted Love Lipstick
Mascarra 7/31/2012 10:15:00 PM
I purchased this in Stiletto, I am really into red, but I wanted something bright red that had just the right hint if orange to it, I actually went to Sephora looking for something like it, saw some nice ones from NARS and others, but while browsing, saw Kat Von D's line and saw it and just had to get it. It is a gorgeous shade, my favorite red lipstick! I am really glad I stumbled upon this little gem, I'm happy to say I found my HG Red Lipstick! I don't have any complaints, the packaging is gorgeous, there is a good amount of it to last you a while. I have had it for about five or six months, still have a lot left over and I use this more than four days a week. The lipstick is smooth, easy to apply and it lasts a really long time unless you eat something really oily in which case it comes off sometimes or smears. It may be pricey to some people, but $19 is something I don't mind paying for my HG Red Lipstick! I am looking forward to trying another color I saw, and as for this color...will absolutely repurchase.

Lip Gloss -NARS - Orgasm
Mascarra 7/31/2012 9:54:00 PM
I have had this for quite a while. My cousin had sent me the blush a couple years ago and I used that up real quick, I really loved the subtle color of it. So when I went into Sephora I purchased this along with The Multiple in the same shade (I didn't really like how The Multiple felt on my lips). I ended up choosing this shade as opposed to the Super Orgasm cause this was darker on my lips, the Super Orgasm was too light on my lips. I have to say I like this gloss as an everyday gloss. I don't wear a lot of make up so it gives my lips a natural glossy look. Which I really like. I don't normally like spending this much money on a gloss, but then again it's a best seller for a reason. It really is a beautiful subtle color. I also like using it as a base when I have a lipstick that's too dark so I put this on first and then the lipstick I want to lighten and it does the trick. Overall I have no complaints about this product. The packaging is cute, it's worth the money, beautiful color, natural looking, and something I wouldn't mind repurchasing.

Eyeliner -NARS - Larger Than Life Long-Wear Eyeliner - Via Veneto
Mascarra 7/31/2012 8:43:00 PM
I don't wear a lot of make up, pretty much I only wear eyeliner on my waterline and some lipstick or balm. So having a really good eyeliner is super important to me. I am always looking for my HG Eyeliner. I have tried liquid, pencil, felt tip ones...name it I've tried it. Personally after all of that, I prefer pencil. So I was in Sephora, asking about which eyeliner pencil had good staying power, cause my main problem since I use eyeliner only in waterline is that when my eyes get watery, whether the pencil I use is waterproof or smudge proof, it still tends to become a mess. So the woman helping me suggested this and told me I could return it if it didn't work out for me. But from the first time I used it, I had no problems. It's highly pigmented, has great long lasting power, even when my eyes get watery sometimes it still stays on. I admit the price is a little up there, but for a eyeliner this good I don't mind at all. Until I find my HG Eyeliner this is definitely my go-to liner, and I don't know maybe if I try more this might end up being my HG Eyeliner. I would definitely repurchase this and recommend it to anyone who tends to use eyeliner on their waterline or who have watery eyes. Or if you're looking for a good eyeliner that will last you the whole day.

Misc Beauty Tools -Sephora - Sephora Collection Eyelash Curler
Mascarra 7/31/2012 8:30:00 PM
I have had this curler for almost five months. I have tried quite a few but this is the one I ended up keeping. I was in Sephora and was asking for a good lash curler for me since I have very short and straight lashes, the person working there suggested this because of the price and at the time they had an array of colors to choose from. So I admit I purchased it first only because I thought it was so cute (I chose the hot pink one), but little did I know I would end up using this and tossing the other ones I had been using out. This curler does the trick for me. It holds a curl really well, the only time it doesn't and I need to recurl is when I use a really bad mascara that straightens my lashes out. Other than that, I have no complaints so far. It doesn't hurt or pinch my lashes since they are so short. They have a bunch of colors for you to choose from, it doesn't cost much I got it for $16, and it comes with two pads to change so I think I got great value for my money. Not to mention its really easy to clean and sanitize. So overall, until I find a better lash curler (I will update this review if I do), I am sticking to this and definitely going to repurchase if needed.

Blush -NARS - The Multiple in Orgasm
Mascarra 7/31/2012 8:15:00 PM
I have had this for more than four months. First off, just need to state that I don't use much make up. So when I went into Sephora and they showed me this, I liked the thought that I could use it for everything since I don't really like using a lot of make up. Okay so the good things about this is first, it will last you pretty long, even if you use it daily. My friend purchased one about the same week when I purchased mine and she uses it religiously and she still has a lot of it left. Next, it does what they say it does. You can use it as a blush, eyeshadow and on your lips. It would just depend on your skin and how you choose to apply and blend it in. I have fair skin so when I use this it is pretty obvious, so I use a sponge to blend it in well. And lastly, it is a really beautiful and subtle color and the packaging is elegant in my opinion. Now the downside to it would be it tends to feel really greasy sometimes, which makes it more difficult for me to blend it in. It tends to make my skin look oily, which it isn't normally. Also I try to keep it in a cool spot, cause it melts if it gets too hot in some instances. It is somewhat pricey, but then again it will last you a long time so that's alright I guess. Lastly, it is pretty sticky for my taste so once I finish this, I probably won't be purchasing this again and try the other Orgasm products instead.

Mascara -Maybelline - Lash Stiletto Voluptuous
Mascarra 7/31/2012 7:54:00 PM
I have been using this for about a little over two months, not daily, but every other day or so along with other mascara brands so I can compare them. I usually like using something for a good period of time so I can make an honest review. I have very short and straight lashes. Very few lashes as well. So I am always looking for my HG Mascara. First, the positives...the packaging is really pretty (then again I am a sucker for red and black), it's not too expensive, and it does lengthen lashes somewhat. Now the negatives would be that it dries pretty quickly, I noticed that after a week of usage it was pretty dry already (and I don't double dip to add a second layer). The wand itself makes it difficult to coat each and every one of my lashes since I have so few. So it looks pretty clumpy at times which is why I don't add another layer of the stuff on my lashes. Lastly, it doesn't hold a curl. I actually curl my lashes before applying this, and it actually straightens them out and I need to recurl them again. So all in all it's not something I will be purchasing again.

Lotions/ Creams -eos - Everyday Hand Lotion
Mascarra 7/31/2012 6:25:00 AM
I don't normally need to use hand lotion, but ever since I moved to the US my skin started to get dry, especially the skin on my hands (where I used to live it was always hot). I had heard about this hand lotion for quite some time and was always hesitant because of the price. I figured something fairly cheap might not be the best thing for me to use. One day, I saw it in Ulta and figured I would try it. I was really glad I did. It's a very good moisturizer for my hands, it's cheap, the packaging is adorable and I can carry it around in my purse...plus they all smell great! I especially like the Cucumber one. If you have a problem with your hands being too dry, you should try it. For the price, it's a great deal.
