Deodorants -LUSH - Aromacreme [DISCONTINUED]
rated 5 of 5
LoveBareEscentuals 1/26/2007 5:13:00 PM

This is the *only* natural deodorant which has worked for me. Most quit within a week. I LOVE this deodorant. The texture is strange, I was afraid it was going to feel like a greasy lotion going on, but it dries to a powdery finish as you rub it in. A little pinch does the trick so you don't need a whole lot of product. Mine was $10 for the little tub from the store...sounds pricey, but regular deodorants don't cost much less these days. Also...I've never had any irritation due to this product except when I had epilated right before applying, which, with any deodorant, you're going to irritate your skin if you shave before applying. Would definitely recommend this to everyone =)

Powder -NARS - Powder Foundation
rated 5 of 5
LoveBareEscentuals 1/22/2007 3:18:00 PM

I was pretty leary to try this since my skin is dry, but it didn't accentuate the dryness at all! Went on really smooth, looked even better than MMU. I'd have to say though, this is definitely a very light coverage (which is what I wanted anyway) so if you're looking for something medium to full coverage, this is not the foundation for you. I only apply it dry, haven't tried it wet. Perhaps you could get more coverage that way if needed. I've been using this several months & only have a very slight dip in the compact (barely noticeable) so definitely worth the $45 price tag ($35 for a refil). I'm NW20 right now & Mont Blanc suits me perfectly. I can safely say I've found my HG & will be repurchasing when I hit pan on this!

Fragrances -Donna Karan - Red Be Delicious EDT
rated 1 of 5
LoveBareEscentuals 12/25/2006 2:04:00 PM

I wanted to love this perfume, as I love things that smell foody & fresh. I *love* the scent of red apples so I was so excited to get this. Smells decent by just sniffing the part where it sprays out of. But once applied it smells like dirty rancid water. I can smell the awesomeness of the apple but I really don't dig smelling like I wiped myself down with a dirty dish rag. So not only would I not repurchase, I'm returning this asap. It's horrid.

Conditioner -Wen by Chaz Dean - Tea Tree Oil Cleansing Conditioner
rated 2 of 5
LoveBareEscentuals 11/27/2006 12:48:00 PM

This cleansing conditioner sounded great to me. It's sulfate free, and the tea tree is great for easily irritated scalps. However...it's not as great as it sounds. I got this as a 1-2x a week alternative to my Nanoworks. This was so heavy & you have to use a ridiculous amount. My hair still looked dirty in some spots & I scrubbed well. The smell is nice, not overpowering, but I would never waste my money on this again. Why bother washing if it's still going to look oily when you get out? I got the Deva NoPoo which is the same concept, but about half the price. This worked MUCH better. Hair felt & looked clean, would definitely repurchase that one.

Crème -Sue Devitt - Triple C-weed Whipped Foundation
rated 4 of 5
LoveBareEscentuals 11/17/2006 1:29:00 PM

Ok editing my review as I've tried this a few more times, with different methods before application. I made sure to moisturize well, use my Benefit primer, and then apply with a foundation brush. I did not like this previously because it didn't seem to blend easily & looked funny on my skin. For reference, I am NW20 & Tanami is a perfect match. Maybe this took some time to get used to, but it's working nicely now. I haven't broken out & I'm super sensitive. So my only downsides to this is the bad packaging, the funky sea-weed smell, and the price tag. But I can see this lasting a long time. Once my sample is out I will be purchasing the full sized. (Not that I need another foundation in my arsenal).....

Lotions/ Creams -Laura Mercier - Creme Brulee Body Souffle
rated 1 of 5
LoveBareEscentuals 11/14/2006 10:15:00 PM

First thoughts of this lotion was HOLY CRAP this is orgasmic. It smells divine. So sweet & rich, really great for winter. So I put some all over my hands & arms & couldn't stop smelling them. Until 10 minutes later....the wonderful yummy scent dissapated into this crappy, drugstore cheap vanilla scent mixed with dust. Unfortunately, the cream itself left my hands feeling drier than they were to start. I would never purchase this again, especially for the ridiculous price. Can't wait to wash this off.

Makeup Brushes -Body & Soul - Travel Brush Set
rated 4 of 5
LoveBareEscentuals 11/10/2006 10:20:00 AM

I must say...I was scared to buy these because the reviews here were split 50/50. I'm very glad with this purchase, the brushes are so soft, really great quality. The clutch it comes in is adorable, although, the slots are tight at first. If you slide them in & leave them there they'll slide in & out nicely. I do wish the face & blush brush were fuller, as I'm used to the MAC 150 & 129, although I used them both with no problem today. They applied my powder/bronzer/blush beautifully. I love the eye brushes even more than the face brushes. The flat liner is amazing. Really great, tight bristles gives a superb line. The crease brush is just like Stila's #9 brush only smaller handle. The brow brush is really great, I played with it, I love that it's a lot smaller head than most, it allowed for better control for those people that really have to fake their brow shape. Although I'm more of a pencil girl myself, I just had to try it out. The last brush is a stiff shadow brush, I guess it would be comparable to the MAC 242, but softer & better to work with, IMO. I really like the overall look of this set, it feels really glamorous. The Sephora pic does not do it justice. The teal blue clutch is shimmery, and it has a black patent leather band where it buttons. Hard to explain, but adorable. It says Body & Soul embroidered in silver where the clutch snaps, above the patent leather. It also has an adorable high heel pump as the zipper pull for the pouch inside. Only gripes are that the pouch inside...I don't see it really holding anything but maybe blotting papers, it's super tiny. And that the 2 face brush heads are tiny, but I think that's just cause I'm used to the bigger MAC ones. I'd definitely repurchase this, although the high price tag, I think you can't go wrong. If you treat your brushes right they will last a lifetime.

Makeup Brushes -BeneFit Cosmetics - #09 Angled Brush
rated 5 of 5
LoveBareEscentuals 11/8/2006 11:37:00 AM

I swapped away both of my MAC 266 angle brushes when I got this one, and tossed out my Sonia Kashuk angle brush. This one doesn't splay like my other 3 did, and gives the tightest, best line for lining the eye. Nothing I've had compares to it. It's taklon fiber, not animal hair...so much better chance of it staying in tact than animal hairs. Definteily a must have for me. I love the short handle & the vinyl pouch it comes in. Dirt cheap too.

Moisturizers -BeneFit Cosmetics - Dear John - a Movin' On Facial Cream [DISCONTINUED]
rated 5 of 5
LoveBareEscentuals 10/14/2006 11:37:00 PM

I was told by the Benefit SA that this moisturizer holds 100x it's weight in water. Said it's extreemly hydrating & can even help calm redness in skin. I was kinda skeptical as this moisturizer has no anti-aging of any sorts, just plain moisturizer, but decided to give it a go. For reference, I've got super dry skin (sensitive too) in winter which can get so dry to the point of peeling & bleeding. I've had the flakes go away since using it. My skin looks so radiant & feels like silk. I love how it feels on!!! I don't use it during the day though because I use AHA products & need a sunscreen, but this is definitely HG night time moisturizer for me =)

Bronzers -BeneFit Cosmetics - Glamazon [DISCONTINUED]
rated 1 of 5
LoveBareEscentuals 10/14/2006 7:21:00 PM

Although I'm a huge Benefit fanatic...I wanted to love this product & just couldn't. I've had Benefit MA's apply it to me as well as trying myself. I put 3 layers on & still did not show on me (currently I am at my winter shade of NW20). I'm not uber pale but I'm not dark by any means. I can not believe the poor pigmentation in this product. Definitely would not repurchase. I ended up returning mine.

Scrubs -BeneFit Cosmetics - Honey Snap Out of It Face Scrub
rated 5 of 5
LoveBareEscentuals 10/4/2006 10:41:00 AM

I absolutely adore this scrub. For reference, my skin is very sensitive, in the colder months I get so dry that I have those dry flakey patches on certain areas. I was told this is the more moisturizing scrub out of the 2 (the other being the Pineapple one). The SA told me I could also use it like a mask...so I did just that. Applied it in the shower, scrubbed a bit, then left it on while I shampoo'd & conditioned. It felt wonderful, smells great (not overly scented which I hate & so does my skin). Only downside is the packaging. I hate scrubs which come in a tube because you can never get that last little bit out. I think it would be better in a tub with a little spoon or something. Overall great product though, super gentle yet effective.

Eye Shadow -MAC - Pigment in Naked
rated 1 of 5
LoveBareEscentuals 9/21/2006 1:42:00 PM

This pigment didn't even show up on my lids. The glitter fleck in it bothered my eyes all day & burned them. Never again would I waste my money on this one.

Primer/ Corrector -Smashbox - Photo Finish Primer
rated 1 of 5
LoveBareEscentuals 9/21/2006 1:16:00 PM

This product broke me out on the 2nd use. I did not notice any difference in how my foundation applied or looked once on, and it did not reduce pore size. Definitely would not repurchase, seems like a waste of almost $40 to me.

Crème -BeneFit Cosmetics - Some Kind-A Gorgeous
rated 2 of 5
LoveBareEscentuals 9/21/2006 1:14:00 PM

I'm sorry...I love Benefit but I really hated this product. One color does not fit all, I'm NW20-30 depending on the time of year & if I was any lighter than the NW30 I can't imagine it working. The product feels like it's going to be oily but dries super quick & feels like powder...that was the one positive. On the downside...it gave me absolutely NO coverage, even less than Benefit's TM You Rebel. It just made my skin look a bit on the oily side, which I have VERY dry skin so this went back immediately.

Palettes -BeneFit Cosmetics - Weather Girl [DISCONTINUED]
rated 5 of 5
LoveBareEscentuals 9/21/2006 12:50:00 PM

This palette is an HG for me. The lip creams are very long lasting, not sticky, no gross taste, etc. The shadows are beautiful & lasted all day crease free (although I do put UDPP under everything). I will definitely buy a backup of this.
