Liquid -Clinique - Perfectly Real Makeup
rated 2 of 5
HippyChick0u812 9/27/2007 8:32:00 AM

Hi, This is my review for Clinique Perfectly Real Foundation. Well this is not really what I was hoping for. !st of all it gave me the dreaded breakout. Not a good sign. That is my main reason for the low rating I am giving it. It does have fairly good coverage which is something I was looking for and it is a bit on the dewy side as well. The color range is also quite good and I did find a good match. The price is reasonable as well at $22.50. But I feel I gave it a good chance by wearing it for a week, it have me terrible breakouts. Too bad really as it was a nice foundation.

Loose Powders -Make Up For Ever - Super Matte Loose Powder
rated 5 of 5
HippyChick0u812 9/22/2007 9:26:00 PM

Hello Ladies, This review is for Make Up For Ever Super mat Loose Powder in Translucide/translucent. Let me start with my skintone. I am a perfect match to BE Light mmu. I wear this daily and love it. I was using the BE mineral veil but was finding that it added too much shine for me, so I went looking for something else. Our Lovely jojoba who often sings the praises of this line is really the one who got me to check them out. I now love ever mufe product I own. lol I am 42 with oily and acne prone skin still... So I did want something that would help keep me less oily during the day. This has really been great for me. I use it after my foundation to set and smooth out a bit. I love the way it feels on my skin, so soft and silky smooth. The wear I get with this is to me just incredible. I go all day without needing to blot. It gives me the more toned down look I like instead of the disco ball mineral veil was giving me. It also has a very natural look in my skin which I also adore,I don't look powdery or cakey. The price is currently $25.00 which isn't too bad I guess. The container is large and will last a long time. Overall this has become my Hg finishing powder! Thanks for reading :-)

Palettes -LORAC - Snake Charmer Face Palette
rated 4 of 5
HippyChick0u812 6/20/2007 9:38:00 PM

I am reviewing the Lorac Snake Charmer Palette. I am a BE Light #2 for reference. I really am surprised at just how much I love this palette and the overall quality of Lorac in general. The eye shadows have a great rich texture and are full of pigment. The colors themselves work great against my skintone, I use all the colors and not a single one doesn't work for me or together with one another, and the palette itself is an awesome travel item. Since this purchase I have also bought a couple of other Lorac items that I am equally as happy with. I will also try to review those as well.

Concealers -Bare Escentuals - Bisque
rated 4 of 5
HippyChick0u812 6/20/2007 9:29:00 PM

Hello Ladies, I am reviewing BE Bisque concealer. For reference I am currently wearing BE Foundation in #2 Light, which is also my current HG. I use this as a spot concealer on the face. I do not use it under my getting older { over 40 } eyes. for that I am using mufe lift concealer which I am also currently in love with. Even though I am getting older I still have pretty oily skin as well as some past acne scars. I get a little bit of redness in those areas too. I use this with the BE concealer brush, I like the large paddle of it for face use. I apply this after I have used my other face treatments and let them rest for say 10-15 minutes. I gently apply some to my brush doing the typical be swirl and tap. Then I apply to the places I feel will need just that extra bit of coverage. I always blend it in well. I have found this product to be perfect for doing just that. It covers up what I want where I need it the most without looking cakey and fake. Like I am trying to hard to cover something up. We all know that look only to well. Once I put the foundation over it I end up with a perfect natural complexion. Better than I have ever had before. I know some are sensative to be, but for those who are not and use it. I have found this step essential in getting that better coverage. I hope this will help :)

Cleansers -MD Forte - Facial Cleanser II
rated 4 of 5
HippyChick0u812 1/29/2007 8:40:00 AM

I switched recently from dermadoctor glycolic to this MD Forte Glycare 2 cleanser. I have been using it for about 4 months now and am extremely happy with it. My skin is already very used to glycolics and this works great and exfoliation and anti-aging too. The cleanser itself is a no soap, non oily cleanser and also a non foaming. It is a creamy type. I find it removes all my face makeup easily too. I have seen quite a bit of improvement in my clogged pores which is my big issue. I should say that I'm 42. I feel like this is a great cleanser for me who still has oily skin and an occsional breakout too. It cleans, softens and renews skin by taking off the dead cells. My nose is almost clog free now and it is a joy not to look in the mirror and see all those horrible little clogs :)

Blush -Cargo - Suede Blush in Sunshine Coast
rated 5 of 5
HippyChick0u812 1/28/2007 7:14:00 AM

This is my review for Cargo Sunshine Coast Blush. I have been wearing this all week now and cannot seem to pick up anything else at the moment. This blush is a perfect swirl of pinks and light bronze for me. I am a JI Warm Silk for reference. It goes on with a smooth finish and had great lasting power on me too. The shimmer is there but not over the top on me either, I am using a skunk brush to apply also. I really am loving the great natural flush and glow i am getting out of this blush. A keeper for sure! I am now looking at the others. lol. I hope this helps someone :)

Eye Shadow -Make Up For Ever - Star Powder Pink Gold 916
rated 5 of 5
HippyChick0u812 1/6/2007 4:45:00 PM

Hi, I am reviewing the 916 star powder. For reference I am a BE medium skintone. This is a wonderful product I adore all the star powders I have been able to get. This one does not let me down in the slightest. In the jar it appears to be much more pink than it actually applies on my lids. The dimension of the color is postively grand. For me it is a pure pearly light pinky peachy heavenly shadow. I use this as both e/s and a blush sometimes as well, though very light handedly. The only down side for me is the package jars while they have a sifter beacause the pigments are so finely milled they easily come through and alot ends up in the top. I have taken some out because of this and put into a regular small pigment sample jar. Much easier to work with this way for me.

Lip Gloss -Clinique - Full Potential plumping lip gloss
rated 5 of 5
HippyChick0u812 12/22/2006 3:18:00 PM

These glosses are just great in my book. They are moisturizing and more long lasting than any other gloss on my lips. The product itself is quite thick. It has a very high shine when on the lips and I definately see some plumping. It won't be a miracle or anything in that respect but I do see a differance. I see as much if not more than when I use LipFusion. Plus this lasts on my lips a very long time too. And this is only $17.50. I have bought 3 of them now and am very very happy with all of them. I will be on the lookout for new colors, as I think I have the ones that would look best on me already now. If your looking for a Lip Plumper that has high shine, is long lasting, and great colors with a smaller price tag than lipfusion, you should check into these.

Eye Shadow -Bare Escentuals - Meet the Plums
rated 4 of 5
HippyChick0u812 12/1/2006 1:40:00 PM

This is Be Meet the Plums, I got this set recently as well as a bunch of other Be items. I have kind of been of a BE binge of late. I am a BE 2.3 with light brown eyes and dark brown expresso hair for comparision. This set comes with 3 really beautiful plum colors. They are marked/called ~ light, medium, dark. the three colors work perfectly together and look great on. I have used this apllying the light shade all over lid, then using the medium shade a apply on thr outer lid. I use the dark shade in the crease and then also I wet line the upper lashline with it. I use a touch of Stila Heather at the brow and inner eye. So far I definately really like it and am really happy I decided to get it along with the other BE items I bought as well. I guess I should add that they are full size so there is alot of product too.

Hair Color -Ion - Color Brilliance
rated 5 of 5
HippyChick0u812 11/5/2006 6:37:00 PM

I Bought the Ion Hair Color on a whim at Sally's. They were out of my Normal Loreal Exellence that I have been using for a few years now. I am getting alot of grays for my age * I * think at 42. when my roots come it they are 50% at least. I choose a darker shade this time for a change, The darkest brown color. 2N or N2. My color before was a light brown. I have long waist length curly hair so yeah I needed 3 tubes to do my hair a new shade. I used the cream formula thinking it would be easy to use and it was very easy to do. I bought the Sensitive Scalp Developer in 20 also and mixed 2oz to the cream and on it went. This color went on very easy and was not as badly smelling as most, kind of fruity. I let it sit for a full 45 minutes without feeling anything on my scalp which is great. No itching at all. Upon washing it out I am so happy at the outcome. Exactly as I wanted it to look. The color itself is fantastic , rich , deep and very shiney. My Hair felt great after use and much less dry than with the loreal I had been using. I am extremly happy with this color and will be buying it again. I already have 2 tubes on hand. My overall impression is very very good and I would recomend this to anyone :) Update 1/29/07 Still totally loving this color. It has such amazing gray coverage I can hardly believe how great my hair looks after. The other thing is that my hair is so soft and not nearly as damaged after as it was with other colors. Yay! Try it out!

Cleansers -DERMAdoctor - Wrinkle Revenge Glycolic Acid Facial Cleanser
rated 5 of 5
HippyChick0u812 4/14/2006 6:32:00 PM

I am almost 40 oily/acne prone. I am also prone to clogged pores. I decieded I wanted to try out a glycolic cleanser and started looking around. Picked the DermaDoctor because they have a range of different strengths. This review is for the #2 cleanser. I bought this in November and have been using it 2x daily since purchase. So far I am loving the results. The first few times I used it I had some stinging but nothing too bad. Now that I have been using it for a while I can see the results of fading marks slightly but some is great. My over skin texture is so much better and my complexion is much brighter. I am seeing far far fewer breakouts and they last alot less time than they did before. I will repurchase for sure. You only need a small dot for your entire face. To be used on dry skin per instructions. Therefore the $25 price doesn't bother me.

Palettes -Stila - 4-pan Compact
rated 4 of 5
HippyChick0u812 3/5/2006 9:43:00 PM

Hi Ladies, I realy do like the 4 pan compacts. they are just the right purse size and have a mirror for easy application on the go. I am also a fan of Stila's pan eyeshadows so these are great for making up a "look" with 3 shadows and blush os what I often do. The pin holes in the bottem make for easy removal and switching of pans.

Eyeliner -Clinique - Cream Shaper for Eyes - Chocolate Lustre
rated 4 of 5
HippyChick0u812 3/5/2006 9:27:00 PM

Hi Ladies, For reference, I am a BE 2.3. This is my 2nd cream shaper and I must say that I am impressed with these. They go on so smoth yet don't smudge away on me like so many other soft pencils do. For the longest time I had quit using my pencils it seemed that there was always somthing about them that has started to turn me off, They were either too soft and smudged like crazy or very hard which makes applying diffcult to say the least. Byt cream shapers have brought me back to pencils again. Thanks to all the great Rec's for these. They are well worth the $13.50.

Palettes -Stila - Just My Luck Palette in Lucky Peach
rated 4 of 5
HippyChick0u812 3/5/2006 9:21:00 PM

Hi Ladies, I am a BE foundation wearer, I use color 2.3 for reference. I have had this palette for a couple of weeks now and can say that I really am enjoying it. I find the eyeshadow colors to be quite verstile. I can easily achieve a subtle glow or a rockin smokey eye by combineing the use of clinique cream shaper in choc. lustre as a tightlined use and using the darkest e/s color all around the lashes to smoke them out. The blush in this palette gives me a nice glow without being overly glittery or shiney. I also really love the lip color in this palette. It seems to be somewhat of a dryer consistancy but I use a gloss over top like lip venom anyway. If your looking for a nice spring/summer peachy palette have a look at this for sure. I also like the cute package =)

Palettes -Stila - Perfectly Sage Palette Fall 2005
rated 5 of 5
HippyChick0u812 8/19/2005 1:41:00 PM

This is for me a wonderful palette. The colors work well on my nw20-nw25 skintone. I like the texture of the shadows they are nice and smooth with plenty of pigment payout. I have brown eyes and the middle green really makes them pop. The blush is a nice shade, reminds me of another color though. Great palette so glad I decieded to go ahead and get it.
