Brows -Laura Mercier - Blonde eyebrow pencil
GoddessLaura 8/28/2011 4:12:00 AM
Love this eyebrow pencil. I've been searching for the perfect eyebrow pencil for a couple of years now and this one is be the best I've found so far in terms of color and consistency. The blond color works well for me... i have light brown air and medium brown eyebrows, so I can use this without making my brows too strong. The color is nice and ashy, no redness that I can see. and the consistency is very good for brows, not too soft like many, but not nearly as hard as the Shu pencil. I also gotta say I love the triangular shape, it makes the pencil easy to hold and easy to find.

Brows -Clarins - Eyebrow Pencil 03 Soft Blonde
GoddessLaura 8/28/2011 3:49:00 AM
A pretty good eyebrow pencil. A hard formula that goes on nicely into the brow area. I like the packaging and that it includes a brow brush type thing at the end. The soft blonde color is very compatible with my light brown hair and medium brown eyebrows. I can wear this without making my eyebrows look too dominant on my face. The only reason I wouldn't repurchase is that I prefer the Laura Mercier pencil in blonde because its a bit more ashy.

Eyeliner -Physicians Formula - Shimmer strips custom eye enhancing eyeliner trio
GoddessLaura 8/28/2011 3:16:00 AM
I have these trios for brown eyes (black, purple, dk brown) and hazel eyes (black, taupe, pink). Overall these liners are pretty good. The pigmentation is nice, the color selection is decent, and they are very smooth and easy to apply. For the most part the colors are very generic, but its a pretty great deal to get 3 eyeliners for the about the same price as 1 eyeliner (drugstore prices). I will definitely repurchase However, the Taupe shade in the hazel eyes set is holy grail for me. I've never seen a shade like it before and I really like wearing it with an every day look. As I'm so pale a lot of browns can look too strong on me so I need a lighter brown shade and this taupe is perfection. Only complaints are about the packaging... I hate that I can't put the cap onto the end of the pencil when using. Also, do not use the sharpener in the end of the pencil... it just breaks the tips right off.

Brows -Shu Uemura - H9 Hard Brow Pencil - Seal Brown
GoddessLaura 8/28/2011 3:05:00 AM
An excellent brow pencil. The color is ashy enough to work well for most blonds and brunettes. The key is to use very light strokes. The formula is what makes this pencil so great. Its hard to swatch, but when pencil interacts with the oils is your skin it can leave behind a light color. As others have said... the pencil lasts a long time, making it a very good value. Shu Uemura is no longer sold at counters in the US, but can be purchased from their website. I will definitely repurchase.

Eyeliner -Bonne Bell - Eye Style Precise Liner
GoddessLaura 8/28/2011 12:43:00 AM
I have this in basic black and it is my go to black eyeliner. The liner goes on very smoothly and is very black. What makes this a bit different than other automatic black liners is that it is much thinner. I can get a very tight controlled black line with this product, and I love that. One lippy off for the packaging... the lids on these things always crack within days of getting them.

Eyeliner -Ulta - automatic eyeliner
GoddessLaura 8/27/2011 6:26:00 PM
These are some of the best eyeliners I've ever found, especially for the price. I've tried them in charcoal, bronze, moss, olive, dark brown and plum. Fantastic quality, they slide on easily, are nicely pigmented and last all day. I've owned many of these and never had any problem with the mechanism. I also love that the cap can be placed on the end so I don't loose track of it. I usually get these when Ulta has them on sale for $1 a piece. Hard to beat the quality, color selection, and price.

Eyeliner -Maybelline - master drama eyeliner
GoddessLaura 8/27/2011 6:21:00 PM
I have this in coal commander, which I was hoping would be a nice medium grey color (like the cap implied). It turns out its very very dark grey, more like a black eyeliner with blue shimmer. The pencil formulation is very nice. Soft and easy to apply without tugging, and it did seem to last all day and not smudge. Thumbs up for the product, thumbs down for the color not matching the lid.

Makeup Brushes -Sephora - Professional Mineral Powder Brush #45
GoddessLaura 8/27/2011 6:10:00 PM
This brush is fabulous. Its great for buffing on any kind of powder foundation. The bristles are soft and smooth, but still dense enough to be effective. It cleans up very easily. I've had it for 4 months now and I use it only a daily basis... and I don't think I've ever seen it shed a bristle. I would highly recommend this brush and I will definitely purchase another one.

Eye Makeup Remover -Neutrogena - Make-Up Remover Cleansing Towelettes Night Calming
GoddessLaura 8/27/2011 6:02:00 PM
*love* this product. It works great at getting all of my makeup off in the evenings. It does leave a little bit of an oily residue behind, but that is okay for me, it doesn't seem to cause any problems and maybe makes my skin a bit softer. These cloths are the wettest I"ve found, which is something i look for because that way I never have to work at getting the makeup off. The refills are usually around $5 a pack, but I found a fantastic deal at CostCo recently where the price ended up being about $2 a pack.

Palettes -LORAC - Croc Palette
GoddessLaura 8/27/2011 5:55:00 PM
This is one of the few "high end" makeup products I've ever bought twice. I definitely think its worth its worth the money This palette is best for warm toned women, and looks especially great on people with green and blue eyes. the shadows are creamy and extremely blendable. I don't experience any fallout with it. I think the eyeshadow shades go very well with the blush. The color combination is very good for fall and winter.

Concealers -Make Up For Ever - 5 Camouflage Cream Palette
GoddessLaura 8/27/2011 5:35:00 PM
I am NC15/MUFE HD 117 and I have this in palette number 1. I find this to be an incredibly useful palette for me. No. 13 is perfect for under my eyes.. but i have to use a hydrating eye cream with it to prevent it from being too drying. No. 15 is great for tackling especially blue areas around my eyes. No. 14 is perfect for my red spots. If I have a particularly red area then I blend a bit of no. 17 (the green one) in with no. 14 to more effectively cancel the red. I do not recommend using the green color on its own. I find these concealers last all day on my oily skin. The packaging is.. adequate. I often worry about crushing the plastic lid or breaking the hinge... but I've had it 6 months and it hasn't happened yet. I will repurchase when I use up one of the colors.

Eye Shadow -Femme Couture - Quad Eye Shadow in Berry Pinks
GoddessLaura 8/27/2011 5:08:00 PM
So this is just okay. The four colors are: 1) a pale pink with glitter 2) light to medium pink with a slight shimmer 3) a dusty plum with glitter 4) a burgandy with a slight shimmer I experience a moderate amount of fall out with all four colors. The pigmentation is decent on all four colors. The plum and burgandy color are very similar... they really should have picked a different 4th color. The eye look I can make with this is nice, but nothing new or exciting. You probably have dupes of all of these colors in your collection already. The four colors are separated by an "X" of white shimmer powder that does a good job of separating the colors, but if you were to use this pallete a lot this arrangement would eventually be frustrating to access the corners without picking up a lot of the white shimmer. I wouldn't buy again and for $10 I wouldn't recommend that anyone else buy it either.

Palettes -LORAC - Snake Charmer Face Palette
GoddessLaura 8/27/2011 2:01:00 AM

As with most Lorac products the color, pigmentation and consistency of the eyeshadows are great. I just can't get excited about this palette. It's boring... really been done before. I also am not a fan of using the orange blush with these eyeshadows.

Powder -Prestige - MultiTask Wet/Dry Powder Foundation
GoddessLaura 8/27/2011 1:55:00 AM
Holy grail powder foundation!! I am NC 15/MUFE HD 117 and the color Wheat is perfect for me. It buffs beautifully into my skin. It doesn't cause any problems for my oily, acne prone skin. Its lasts a long time, and it doesn't oxidize. Love love love. Been using it for about 2 years now and still in love with it. Cons: the closure can be a bit too tight, seriously limited color range (there are 6 colors and they're all very similiar to each other)

Powder -Neutrogena - Mineral Sheers Powder Foundation SPF 20
GoddessLaura 2/26/2011 3:25:00 AM
A pretty darn good drug store powder foundation. I am an NC20 and the classic ivory 10 is a perfect match for my skin tone. For me this powder provides a medium coverage, matte but not unnatural looking. I find it lasts about 8 hours. I love the sponge that comes with it. It comes with 9.6g of product, which doesn't seem like that much. I usually hit pan after about 7 days of use which seems too quick. But I will keep repurchasing because its the best drugstore foundation I've found.
