Lip Gloss -NARS - Lip Lacquer in Vagabond
FoXyKiTten01 3/24/2010 2:20:00 PM
I got this a long while back, totally forgot I had it and just re-discovered it. I don't know why I forgot about this in the first place! I LOVE these NARS lip lacquers...aside from the fact that I feel like they are a little "high maintenance" since I need to tote a little lip brush around. But it's worth the hassle. These are very tacky and really adhere to your lips. I also find these more moisturizing that some other lipsticks/lipglosses I've tried which is a plus. I also like the finish of these, not too glossy/slick/wet looking..just a nice natural sheen.
The color is a little intimidating in the pot..a corpse-like mauve-y silvery nude gray color. Once applied it gives my lips nice dimension, glow and makes my fairly pigmented lips a nice natural yet polished color. There's a decent amount of product in these as you only need a little. Make sure when you apply not to grab too much product on your brush because too much of vagabond does = corpse!!! Also dont worry if you feel like it's not spreading nicly as I think it needs the warmth of your lips to warm up for a second before it just glides onto your lips.

Bronzers -Milani - TANtastic-face & body bronzer 01
FoXyKiTten01 3/6/2010 12:55:00 PM
I got this on a whim. Sadly this is not a LOVE. It's looks like a knock off of LORAC's TANtalizer baked bronzer. It is "ok" but definitely not worth the $8 and change. The packaging is nice, but a little confusing. The little brush holder slides out and the lid to the product slides out the other way. The mirror is on the bottom...if you can get the clear sticker with ingredients off cleanly. The brush is total crap, very rough and does NOT distribute product well. There is also a soapy floral shampoo kinda scent to the product. It's not really that offensive to my nose..but ymmv
As for the product itself, up close it's very glittery looking. From a distance it looks better. It gives my MAC NC30-35 skin tone a nice bronze-y rose glow. If you like shimmer and glimmer on your cheeks, this may be for you.2 out of 2 people found this review helpful. Was this review helpful to you? Yes No
Fragrances -Unlisted Brand - Lostmarch Lann-Ael Eau de Toilette
FoXyKiTten01 3/1/2010 3:44:00 PM
I am a HUGE gourmand lover so this is right up my ally. This was love at first sniff, thankfully since I bought this un-sniffed. It smells a lot like Fruit Loops cereal to me. This definitely is a comfort perfume as many previous reviewers have noted. Very yummy, warm and cozy. I actually find this to be a nicer more "sophisticated" gourmand perfume as that it's not overly sugary sweet or cloying. It just wraps you in it's awesome creamy goodness!
The staying power is pretty good. Lasts about a good 5-6 hours on me before it starts to fade. The price isn't too bad either. It is $85 for 100 mL (3.4 fl. oz). Not to mention the bottle is very simple yet elegant.

Lip Treatments -Unlisted Brand - Love and Toast - Vanilla Chai

I got this on whim from beautyhabit.com. The packaging is waaaay too cute and the box that it comes in is adorable as well. The pot it comes in is kinda small and it retails for $9.00 so it's a little on the price-y side. On the site the lip balm is described as: "This potent pot of softening smoothers is made from all that is good: natural & organic ingredients" Ingredients: Extra Virgin Olive Oil, Beeswax, Organic Jojoba Oil, Shea Butter, cocoa butter, delicious love& toast flavor, organic hemp seed oil aloe vera oil, Vitamin E & stevia. I also love that " A portion of every Love + Toast sale goes directly to Regional Affiliates of Girls Inc., inspiring young girls to be Smart, strong and bold." The balm itself is just ok to me. It sinks right in and gives lips a natural moist looking sheen. It is moisturizing, but it sinks in so fast it kinda disappears quickly leaving lips feeling soft and supple..but my lips don't look soft and supple though. The scent of this is nice. It has a wonderfully creamy vanilla and tea kinda smell. It's kinda hard for me to put my finger on it. It's not a sweet kind of smell more of a sweet herbal kinda smell??

It almost reminds me of some cleaning product, but oddly I do like the smell.

Lip Treatments -Smith's Rosebud Salve - Mocha Rose Lip Balm
FoXyKiTten01 1/29/2010 3:32:00 PM
I finally got my hands on this! Ever since reading the reviews I wanted to get this, but it wasn't offered at Sephora which annoyed me. Anyhow, I have it and to be honest I'm a little disappointed. The scent is really gross to me as it is a horrible fake chocolate smell, but it fortunately disapears quickly once applied..so I took one lippie off for the smell. But smell aside, this is a nice lip balm. The texture is not like any of the other smith's balms I have/have tried. The strawberry one was the worst texture imo...very waxy. The original and the minted rose are in that slick almost "oily" feel category. This one falls somewhere in between. It kind of has this cushy "jelly" feel to it. It sinks quickly into lips and is decently moisturizing. Overall I am happy with it. I just don't fancy the smell. UPDATE***This is quickly rising in my list of fave lip balms! The sent smells soooo good once I get it on my lips. It's just smelling it up close in the tin that makes it a little overwhelming. This is also so moisturizing! Definite must for my parched winter lips.***

Blush -NARS - Passion [DISCONTINUED]
FoXyKiTten01 1/29/2010 11:06:00 AM
I have owned almost all the NARS blushes at some point or the other. This is one of the few that I have never owned. I don't know why I waited so long!! A lot of the peachy pink blushers (ie orgasm and gina) by NARS tend to turn orange on me, this is not one of them. It is a gorgeous warm, matte peach with a tiny hint of pink to it on my yellow undertone NC30-35 skin tone. It looks quite lovely over NARS cream blush in penny lane or with NARS taj mahal blush. Passion is just an amazing blush! The pigmentation and smoothness of application is up to par with any of the other NARS blushers. I am VERY pleased I got this! At long last I have my perfect peach-y blush!

Blush -NARS - Cream Blush in Penny Lane
FoXyKiTten01 1/29/2010 10:03:00 AM
Holy cow! Where has this been all my life?? This gives me the most ethereal natural glow-y pinched looking cheeks. In the pan it's a gorgeous pink-y peachy almost "frosty" looking concoction. Applied it gives me a natural cheek look with such an amazing luminous glow on my yellow undertone NC30-35 skin tone. I was definitely a little nervous that it wouldn't show up on me, but it does and it's miraculous! I absolutely LOVE this! The cream retails for $25 which is the same as a NARS powder blusher. IMO this isn't *that* pricey considering you only need a little. It is on the dry side so there is no sticky icky feeling when you apply, yet it is VERY easy to blend evenly onto my cheeks. I like to use my fingers or the NARS yachiyo brush. This blush looks fantastic when layered with NARS passion blush for the ultimate pinky-peach cheek. I also like adding a tiny super light dusting of NARS taj mahal onto the apples of my cheeks as well on top of passion and penny lane.

Happy happy joy joy! The AiW BOS is finally MINE! I don't have any UD e/s which is how I justified getting this since none of these shadows are new. I was a little hesitant as I am not the biggest fan of shimmer or glitter bits and it retailed for a whopping $52 usd, but I took the plunge anyways and I am VERY glad I did! You do get quite a bang for your buck: 16e/s, 2 mini 24/7 e/l in zero (black) and flipside (turquoise blue), and one mini UDPP. Overall these shadows are very well pigmented, smooth and easy to apply/blend. Note: All these shadows are very shimmery and few have glitter. Below I have listed the shadows from the AiW to their corresponding perm. line names. The ones with glitter is noted with--> (g)

Lipstick -Revlon - ColorBurst Lipstick in Blush 035 [DISCONTINUED]
FoXyKiTten01 1/18/2010 9:59:00 AM
This is soooooo pretty! This is my new HG daily go to lippie! It is a nice MLBB kinda color. It is a little frosty if you over apply though so use a light hand. I usually just do one swipe and it's the perfect shade. It's a little lighter and more mauve-y than my natural lip color, but it compliments my lip color perfectly.
I am in love with these lippies! I love the maybelline CS lippies as well because they have such a wide variety of colors, but the smell is a little icky. These colorburst ones have no scent to them unless you smell really closely. It does have a little bit of a soap-y chemical scent, but it's so faint I don't notice it at all. The colorbursts are so smooth and easy to apply. They are also moisturizing which I like. Overall this is a fantastic drugstore find! I can't wait to get more!

Lipstick -Revlon - ColorBurst in 070 Soft Nude [DISCONTINUED]
FoXyKiTten01 1/13/2010 1:48:00 PM
I hate to be the voice of dissent, but I wasn't really *thrilled* about this shade. First off it applies patchy and uneven on me. It also accentuates any dryness as well. With that said, most nudes end up doing this on my fairly pigmented lips and NC30-35 skin tone for some reason. The color is also NOT flattering on my extreme yellow under toned skin. If I apply too much, it looks like I slathered my lips with that zinc sunscreen only tinted slightly pink..not a good look. But I can get this to work on me if I apply a THIN layer then apply a lip balm (under or over works) or gloss over.

Eye Shadow -Urban Decay - Secret Service

Holy moley this is nice! I got this and UD naked e/s for $7.99 sight unseen online. I was very pleased when I got this e/s! It is an awesome matte e/s. Perfect for those neutral lovers like me. I love using it to smoke out my daytime looks without going way over the top. It is a lovely gray-ed brown with no hint of red tones. It is smooth with great pigmentation and super easy to apply and blend. This is perfect on my Mac NC30-35 skin tone.

Lipstick -Revlon - Colorburst Lipstick in Rosy Nude
FoXyKiTten01 1/11/2010 8:45:00 AM
I am a reformed high end product junkie! I absolutely have been WOW'd by some of the new drugstore lipsticks! This is a perfect example! I got this after hearing good thing about this around the boards. I was expecting this to be more of a nude shade from the name, but it turned out to be a lot more rosy than nude. It is a rose lipstick with a fleshy/nude-brown undercurrent of color. It is most definitely does NOT fall into the "nude" lipstick category..it's more in the ylbb to subtle "reds" category. It's a nice work-safe polished shade that looks lovely on my yellow undertoned NC30-35 skin tone. The texture is divine! It's soooo creamy and moisturizing! It applies smoothly and has great pigmentation! I have absolutely nothing bad to say about this fantastic product! I can't wait till these babies are BOGOF as I will be stocking up!!

Blush -MAC - Beauty Powder in Personal Style
FoXyKiTten01 1/10/2010 6:29:00 PM
I had missed out on the MAC the perfect cheek blush so I was really excited about this! I cannot compare this to the perfect cheek as I never swatched or have this. Unfortunately personal style does not really show up on my NC30-35 skin tone. When it does show up, it is a slightly nude brown with a hint of pinky mauve. I do have MAC emote. Comparatively emote is flat out nude/taupe with a lot more brown to it than personal style. I was a bit peeved about the price tag on this baby...about 20 and some change with tax. For that price, it's not really that unique and it doesn't show up on me. I think it may look better/show up on lighter skinned gals.

Eye Shadow -NARS - Blondie
FoXyKiTten01 1/9/2010 10:17:00 AM
I am a self proclaimed neutral fanatic. I ended up getting this, portobello duo and madrugue duo. While all 3 are very similar, they are different..ever so slightly. Blondie seems to have a lot of red undertones depending on what I pair it with but is still wearable on me. It looks like a creamy lighter than milk chocolate in the pan and goes on fairly true to color. The pigmentation is amazing and it's silky smooth and easy to blend. Overall fantastic!! It's definitely a staple in my piles of nudes. I find myself wearing this daily on my MAC NC30-35 skin tine.
