Liquid -NYX - Stay Matte but Not Flat Liquid Foundation

I really wanted to like this. It was cheap and they had my shade (Tawny). The coverage is light to medium and it looks very natural on the skin. You don't need very much to cover your entire face. It reminds me a lot of Revlon nearly naked. The texture is quite thick and i apply it with my beauty blender. I also liked the packaging as it is travel friendly. I only wanted to try because it didn't have sunscreen and that's what I was looking for, something photo friendly. What I didn't like about this is that it made me oily so quickly. I have combination to oily skin and I prefer a matte finish. Yes, it did stay matte for 2 hours max with primer and powder. I had to blot at least 2 or 3 times plus blotting powder on top of that. I normally do not have to do this with my other foundation. Needless to say, I didn't even bother to take pictures with it on as I already knew I would look too shiny. This might be good for normal to dry skin I would say. Maybe in the winter it might be okay but i wouldn't wear this again when the temperature is warm. This isn't good for someone who is not able to check their face every couple of hours. It did last for at least 8 hrs though but not without blotting constantly. Disappointed! I guess you get what you pay for.
This is a really great primer for someone with oily/combo skin. I heard about this product from you tube a while back and finally decided to get it. This product retails for about $25. The only thing is I don't believe this is available in stores but camera ready cosmetics sells it as well as makeup mania websites. On to the product itself, this is an HD primer. It is mattifying and smooths out pores. The awesome thing about this is that it doesn't contain a lot of chemicals. It is natural, paraben and silicone free. It is good as you can get for a primer for a great price. I use this with all of my different liquid foundations and there is no problem at all. You don't also have to wait for it dry as you only need a little bit and it is a cream based primer. I've had my first container for a while and there is still quite a bit left. The only thing I don't like is the packaging. It's not very hygienic because it comes in a face cream like container. Either way I have already ordered another one. Love it!
Lip Liners -NARS - Velvet Matte Lip Pencil - Never Say Never

I really like this product. It is very easy to apply and doesn't dry out my lips at all. It's not long lasting but that's okay. The color is really flattering for my NC 44 skin. On me, it looks rosy pink. It's perfect for a work day since it;s quite neutral but it would also be nice for the evening. It's a little expensive so I'm not sure if I will purchase again since I don't think it's a must have.
Eyeliner -MAC - Fluidline Eye-Liner Gel in Blacktrack

This is an okay liner for me. I thought I would give this a try and see how I like it. The very first time I used it I got quickly disappointed. It looked super dark in the package but once I applied it on my NC 44 skin it wasn't very pigmented. I had to pack on the product to get the actual shade of black I wanted. I also think that this is expensive and there wasn't very much in the package either. I'm planning to just use up what I have and will not repurchase again. I can't believe I bought in to the hype.
This one of my favorite gel liner. I love that it is waterproof and it really does stay all day. I also find that it is not hard at all to remove given that you use eye makeup remover. This is a true black liner. I'm an NC 44 and this shows super black on my skin. I also love the fact that I don't have to pack on the product to get the color I want. The price is not too bad and it's pretty comparable to other gel liners. This will probably last me for a while.
Misc Beauty Tools -Revlon - Precision Lash Adhesive

I was in search for a latex free glue since I became allergic to DUO. This one is good enough for me. I like the brush applicator but after sometime some of the glue got tacky around the opening and would get onto the brush. It's annoying. It also last for at least 8hrs. The only thing with it is that I noticed that I'm not able to re use my lashes as often in comparison to DUO. The gunk of glue after using it is very difficult to remove. Either way I would rather use this glue than get red swelling eye from Latex.
I can't believe it took me so long to purchase this. I absolutely love it. It does not crease on me and stays put. I got this in NC 42 and it is just perfect. It blends beautifully with my other brands of foundation. I use my beauty blender and set it with a loose powder and it last all day. I can imagine that this would be perfect for the summer as well. I was worried about using this as an under eye concealer at first since I heard that is sets quickly. When using a damp beauty blender, it is a none issue at all. The only thing I do not like about it is that it comes in a glass bottle that's why I took off a lippie. I dropped the bottle of my first one and I was beyond pissed. I wish they put in a plastic or some kind of other material. I do like the pump but it can be hard to control the pressure of how much product comes out. I will definitely buy it again. The price is really reasonable and you don't need very much.
I absolutely love this. I wish that I had given then is a try before I bought my MAC Kabuki brushes. This sponge blends everything perfectly especially if I'm using thicker foundations. I use this to blend my under eye concealer and use afterwards to press my loose powder in that area. I have a couple of complaints about this sponge. It is really expensive, You would think that the company would at least invest on a better packaging. It also hard to get rid of the foundation stain when I use long wearing foundations. I have to be very careful when I'm cleaning this as I have long nails and I found myself poking holes on it the first time around. I ended up buying the soap for it because I found that the sponge lasted longer rather than using baby shampoo. Anyway I will definitely buy this again because it is so easy to use. It just my face look more flawless with this no matter what foundation I use. I'm already going on my third one in a year with roughly 4 uses a week.
Lipstick -Maybelline - Color Sensational - Fifth Avenue Fuchsia

I am in love with this lipstick. For reference, I'm NC 44 and darker in the summer time. I was looking for a color that is bright pink that I can wear during the day or in the evening. This is it for me. I didn't want to go to MAC as I refuse to spend more money on a lipstick since I have so many of them already. What I love about this shade is that it is true in color. What you see in the tube is what goes on the lips. I got so many compliments when I wore this from young girls to older women. It has a good staying power and it glides on easily. Just like any bold and pigmented color you need a lip liner and a brush for this to get a precise application. I hope they never discontinue this color, It will definitely suit many skin tone.
I waited on giving this foundation a review since i wanted to make sure I tested the product enough to give an honest one. I got the shade in 12 and i'm about nc44 in MAC and Toast in revlon colorstay. It wasn't too difficult at all to find my shade which was great. Pros: Coverage is great. You can go from light, medium and potentially full (though it might look cakey if you go this far). Application- I use a beauty blender with this. MAC 187 would probably work well too. Consistency- Thick. You only need very little of the product to cover your face. Spf- none. This is exactly why I wanted to try this. It looks flawless in pictures. Flash or no flash. Cons- I have combination to oily skin. This foundation lasted on me for 4 hours max and i had to blot already. No good in comparison to MAC Matchmaster or My smahbox studio skin fdtn. This is only moisturizing drier areas of my face, primer and setting powder. For drier gals, make sure you have no dry patches when using this as it will cling to that area. Expensive - make sure you get a sample first before you buy this. I really wanted to like this foundation as it looks amazing in photos but this is not a fdtn I can wear for an 8 hr work day. I would be very conscious and feel the need to check my face every few hours or so. I would not even attempt to use this in the summer time.
Lips -Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics - Lip Tar - Strumpet
Cayla29S 2/7/2013 7:53:00 PM
I really like the shade of this lipstick. It's a nice berry red. I thought I would get into the hype so I decided to purchase one at my local sephora. First i hated most of the colors there and I didn't see any shades that I didn't have already. This does not stay long on the lips at all. For me personally this is a lip tar that needs a lip liner. I found it to be drying on the lips. Be careful when you are applying this with dry lips as I noticed that it causes the color to bleed past the frame of your lips. It also not a lipstick that is easy to apply. I hate the lip brush that came with it as it was very difficult to outline the shape of your lips. This is not a lipstick that you apply when you are in a hurry. I treat this as any kind of dark shade that needs time and precise application. So no I will not be buying this again, when its done.
I have used this foundation a few times already to give an honest review so here it goes. I have a combination oily skin but in the winter I tend to be drier so I thought to dry this one. I apply a light weight moisturizer in dry areas on my face then my blot out offensive HD primer. I tried this with a beauty blender and it works great with it. Then I also tried my kabuki brush and this made it look streaky and very hand to blend out. With both application, I found myself having to blot constantly. I also did put a loose powder to set it to get rid of the dewy look. It still left a dewy finish on the skin but personally I don't like that as it makes me look greasy. This foundation also does not last very long, 4 hrs at most then it starts to fade and you can really feel it. I don't think it looks like skin at all, it still looks like you are wearing something. This was on sale when I bought it but I will not be buying this again. What's the point of buying a foundation if it's not going to last for a long time. I also only bought this as it didn't have sunscreen so I figured it would be great for pictures but no way I would wear this for special occasions or even out clubbing. I still prefer the colorstay.
I was looking for a bronzer to contour with so I ended up getting the darker color of this. I liked that it's matte but unfortunately there was no tester where I bought it and ended up being too light for my dark skin tone. Needless to say, I found a way to make this useful. I use it now as a base blush for my clinique sunset glow. These two are awesome combo when I'm doing a winged liner and red lipstick. I probably would not buy this again. It's just okay and the pan is really big that it's going to last me forever.
Lipstick -Maybelline - Color Sensational ~ Red Revival
Cayla29S 12/16/2012 12:23:00 AM
I have been looking for a red lipstick but I did not want to spend the money for an expensive one since I feel like red is such a seasonal color. I also feel like you have to be going for a specific look to wear a red shade of lipstick. I'm a 6.0 in MAC matchmaster and I absolutely love this color on me. It's bright but settle. This definitely needs a lipliner and a lipbrush so you can get a precise application. The price is really good and I can't complain. The only downside of this is that it comes off easily. Once you start eating or drinking it just comes right off. I would suggest to line your whole lips with the red maybelline lipliner otherwise all the color of the lipstick will be gone and you are left with just the lipliner.
I only got this bronzer to use for contouring, I got the shade 7. I have dark skin and I could not find any bronzer that's dark enough or did not have any glitter. I also like the fact this does not go red on my skin when applied. I only need a little bit plus it is easy to blend. My only pet peeve with this one is the price. It is really expensive for what it is. I do love the classic packaging however you would think Guerlain would at least include some kind of a brush or at least a pouch to go with the compact. I have to say I am so careful with this compact since it is so delicate. If you drop this it's done. I would buy this again once it's done unless I find another brand that looks great for contouring. I think this would last me for at least 3 years. In the end this is worth my money.
