Eyes -Mally Beauty - Evercolor Shadow Stick - Taupe
AnnKB 3/11/2013 4:25:00 PM
I love these eyeshadow sticks and Taupe is one of my favourite shades. they're dead easy to apply, and last for ages (especially if you use a primer). This is a mid tone shade perfect for every day and goes with everything. i grab this when I can't decide what to wear. It does have a soft sheen to it whereas I would prefer it to be slightly more matte. however its not as out and out glittery as some eg laura geller. I also have this in gunmetal and purple rain which both make good eyeliners.
lovely smooth texture, easy to apply and a true matt navy colour. not too bright or dark. Lasted well without smudging. time will tell if it becomes dry and hard to apply. So far no irritation I like the twist up pencil design too. would repurchase
Eyeliner -Avon - Glimmersticks Eyeliner in Starry Night Sky

Disappointed in this, 'blobs' and clumps on application and smudges horribly. if you smudge by accident trying to put it on you can't get it off very easily! Had high hopes but wouldn't buy this again. colour is good though.
I was looking for a nice blue eyeshadow, without much shimmer and was failing to find any when I came upon this palette in Superdrug. the powders are very fine and quite pigmented. the 3rd darkest is much bluer on the skin than in the palette which I liked. a good range of 4 shades and a 'paint by numbers' guide where to place them! 1 lippy off as does not seem to have the greatest staying power. nice for day to day as not too shimmery but nice to know you can build up for the full smokey look. If you don't want to end up looking like a panda blue is a nice colour to try (good against my brown eyes) the darkest blue is very dark. You can also get these in black/grey, plum and brown. I want them all! About £8.
Eye Shadow -Revlon - Matte Eyeshadow in Riviera Blue 007
AnnKB 1/14/2013 3:41:00 PM
love the fact this is matte, the colour is a little darker than expected on the skin but but would make a nice smoky eye. the main downside, as others have pointed out, is that it does NOT blend . i use a primer too. now I add a lighter colour underneath, or on top if I have overdone it! excellent staying power once you get it where you want! Revlon is a reliable brand though and these are available pretty cheap (presumably discontinued).
Eye Shadow -Maybelline - ExpertEyes duo in Utaupia
AnnKB 1/6/2013 8:40:00 AM
I have really begun to like Maybelline products. Good quality at a reasonable price. packaging isn't great but I don't mind as long as it stays intact. I'd rather pay for better quality ingredients. I was after GREY tones for ages and , like the previous reviewer, got one which was too taupe/beige. This one is a perfect grey - one silvery and the other dark. perfect to blend together, or mix with other eye colours and great for a smoky look. I particularly like that they aren't shimmery. I wouldn't call them utterly matte but I reach for this as a daytime shadow frequently. I guess this is discontinued as I could only find it on ebay after trawling the local chemists etc for a suitable, not glittery/shimmery grey without success.
Moisturizers -Simple - Kind To Skin Vital Vitamin Day Cream
AnnKB 12/8/2012 11:18:00 AM
I got this in a duo sale with the night cream and I like both very much. Its the right consistency for my oil skin, no horrible fragrance , doesn't break me out and helps reduce lines around my eye. Doesn't irritate my eyes either which many do. I would prefer pump packaging and even though it states on the packaging 'with SPF' doesn't give a rating so I also put on some SPF on the danger zones (cheeks, nose etc) . Its good under makeup and I probably repurchase.I have already purchased a second jar while it was on 2 for £4 offer! simple products seem hard to get hold off these days, Boots have very little stock as does our local superdrug. UPdate: My skin dried out a bit in the harsh winter weather and this was not quite moisturising enough.
Moisturizers -Simple - Kind to Skin Vital Vitamin Night Cream
AnnKB 12/8/2012 11:15:00 AM
I bought this with the day cream on a mega sale 2 for £4 and I really like it. Love the fact its fragrance free. its not too thick or too light (previous simple night cream was quite 'gel' like). not too heavy for my oily skin but still helped reduce lines around the eye. the only downside is the open jar packaging but for this price you can't complain. would def buy again and in fact I did while the special off was still on !
Eye Shadow -Mally Beauty - long wearing shadow stick
AnnKB 11/10/2012 9:04:00 AM
Got this in a small kit from QVC in 'Taupe' which is a lovely wearable day to day colour. I love the packaging, its easy to apply and lasts ages. A bit expensive to buy individually but I would get another from ebay or QVC. I would love to see less shimmery colours for those of us over a 'certain' age!
Cleansers -Avalon Organics Botanicals - Lavender Cleansing Milk
AnnKB 6/30/2012 9:40:00 AM
I was looking for a bottle of the gel to replace one I'd used but the only shop near me that sells this brand only had the milk so I thought I would try it. Big mistake - lovely smell but too harsh. Broke me out especially round the nose and made my skin red. I tried using less but it wasn't really effective as a cleanser. Not good for removing makeup either. Disappointed :-( especially as the other lavender products in the range are fine.
Moisturizers -L'Occitane - 24 Hours Ultra Rich Face Cream
AnnKB 5/7/2012 12:12:00 PM
Very rich cream, great for nights I thought I have oily skin but my cheeks and undereyes get very dry so I put some of this on overnight. Doesn't irritate or exacerbate my rosacea but did cause whiteheads especially close to my eyes. VERY expensive for what it is. I have much softer skin in the morning after using oil (eg jojoba & borage)
Foundations -Garnier - BB Cream Miracle Skin Perfector Daily All-In-One
AnnKB 1/7/2012 10:01:00 AM
Pros: nice finish, tiny bit of 'glow' but not too much Feels okay on my oily skin Light foundation coverage I would say, quite 'orange' which my yellow undertoned skin can just about get away with. I don't like to wear foundation normally so this is a useful alternative. Cons: Very strongly perfumed Colour way too dark. I bought the light and it is much darker than the eye roll on in the same colour. I will probably use the rest up mixed with a moisturiser but wouldn't repurchase. no reactions (yet)
An okay cream exfoliator which small particles and so reasonably gentle. Leaves skin fairly soft if you don't over rinse. I didnt experience any break outs using this and nice that it is less harsh than their 'microdermabrasion' cream. Still, its nothing special for the price but worth a try if you like the brand. Overpriced as is most No7 .
Moisturizers -Boots - No7 Protect and Perfect Day Cream SPF 15
AnnKB 12/23/2011 9:08:00 AM
got a sample of this and although it feels nice to apply it's fragrance is too strong for me. doesn't seem anything special for the high price Texture is lighter than the P&P 'serum' which clogs my pores. As it was only a small sample tube I wasn't able to use it long enough to tell if there was any improvement in skin.
Lipstick -Laura Geller - Italian Swirl Banana Berry
AnnKB 9/30/2011 11:26:00 AM
Got this as part of a QVC TSV (Vanilla Nudes). I really like this. It is a swirly mixture of nude 'banana' and pink 'berry' tones. This swirly design can be variable as you can get too much of one or the other colours. Mine, however, seems to be a good mix. the pink is a lovely natural tone and the nude isn't too light (for me). I can usually get a good mix of the two. It looks lovely on me and it is very creamy. it may be too creamy for some as the consistency is probably more like a lip gloss (but not as gel like or gloopy). I feel glamorous when I am wearing this and it goes with everything. Would def repurchase if I could get it.not sure if it is available alone yet. sturdy lipstick container in traditional twist up style.
