I'm not a fan of big department store fragrances so I'm not sure what made me pick this up, much less spray it on my wrist. Maybe it was the bottle, which is actually very pretty. In any case, imagine my surprise when I inhaled this sophisticated woody, spicy, slightly sweet and smoky scent that is an exact replica (although a little lighter than)Bond No. 9 Chinatown! It's really a very nice fragrance, but I can't see this appealing to teenagers or the crowd that buys Pink Sugar. I think this would appeal to a young, hip, slightly edgy, fashion conscious woman. Ironically, the kind of woman that would never wear a perfume by Mariah Carey.

I picked this up at local department store and absolutely loved it! When the SA told me they had just gotten in another new celebrity pefume, I have to admit, I rolled my eyes. However, I was pleasantly surprised with M by Mariah Carey. To me, it smells a lot like Dior Addict only it is a lot more subtle. Dior Addict seems way too strong at times for me, even though I love the scent. I'll be wearing this on a daily basis because the smell is just so good and it makes me feel really girly.Plus, it's subtle enough for daytime. It's definitely worth a sniff!

Well I'm sure the little alchohol-swipe sample isn't entirely representative of what a full spray would render, but that was enough to let me know I would not be interested in sampling a full spray. This smells like creamy honeysuckle, and very cheap and generic, of an old-school Avon caliber. Sorry.

My impression of M is frangipane, vanilla wafer, amber
and patchouli. Overall a very sweet rich amber fragrance.
Reminds me of a cross between L'Instant, Rapture,
Chantecaille Frangipane and Vanille Abricot.
Some vanillas such as Pink Sugar and Vanille Abricot
tend to go burnt on me. The amber-patchouli is rich and strong
in the base, but the vanilla in this fragrance is one that tends
to go burnt on me, so becomes overwhelming on my chemistry.
I know many people do love Pink Sugar and Vanille Abricot so it
may not be a problem for everyone. M will likely be a big hit with the
young ladies and many other Mariah fans.

Website says "Angels speak in song... Flowers touch your senses....Experience the new fragrance... Composed by Mariah Carey." Ok. I got a sample of this the other day and from what I can smell it's a remake of Angel. Way too much sweetness and fruity, candy fluff for my liking. Also it claims to have notes of Tiare.... ummm where? I smell no Tiare blossoms. Which saddens me -- and my senses. On a good note: the bottle is gorgeous -- purple flacon with a pretty butterfly on top; looks totally inticing --- and seductive. But alas, the juice is disappointing. I really wanted to love this --- and enjoy a unique scent.. unfortunately I can't.
