I like this fragrance just not love it. The first time I tried it in the store it smelled like gingerbread. Just absolutely delicious and warm. However, when I bought one the ginger bready smell turn into something more pungent (incense ?). Not so bad but I think ruins the gourmand fragrance a bit. Why don't people just go out and do a full gourmand fragrance rather than mixing delicious food notes with awful things.

This is one of my least favourite perfumes ever. The marshmallow accord is far too strong, and the entire scent is very off-putting. While the bottle is beautiful and the colour of the juice is gorgeous (purple), the scent of this perfume is so awful that I cannot ever recommend it to anyone. Definitely one that I hope dies a quick death.

I love tjhis product. I wasn't expecting her perfume to smell nice, even though I am a fan of her and her music. Suffice it to say, I was pleasantly surprised when I received my sample in the mail, and promptly purchased the body lotion over the summer. I wasn't ready to commit to the perfume just yet. I received the fragrance as a gift, and I'm fairly pleased with it. For those of you saying you can't smell the marshmallows, it's not a dominant scent. It's a topnote that can be found during the initial application and drydown, but the tiare flower, patchouli and Moroccan incense are the main attractions, although you can clearly smell the marshmallow. I love putting it on and getting a whiff of it later in the day. It stays with you, despite it being a light fragrance. It's a real find.
I'm less impressed with the lotion, however, because it's not as "moisturizing" as I would like it to be. It's basically the perfume in lotion form. I wil not buy again after I'm done with this tube.
Powder
I have yet to purchase the body powder, but after trying it at the mall, I can't wait to get it. It's an interesting presentation, being a purple duster (wasn't expecting that), but the powder is light and is just refreshing all around.
One final note on the perfume. There are two presentations of it. One is a traditional spray bottle, and the other features a dabber and bottle setup, which Mariah uses in her "M" appearances and tv commercial. Lastly, don't use too much, as a little goes a long way and too much is just overpowering.

I own the body lotion of this, and a gazillion sample vial sprays. I LOVE the smell. Amber, marshmallow and tiare flower give this fragrance a sensual, sexy smell. I wear this almost everyday. *Hopefully* I'll get the bottle of perfume for Christmas from DH.

Perfect. Not too sweet. Warm. Yummy. I like it a lot.
The bottle- bang Delices de Cartier and Alexander McQueen My Queen together and this is what you will get! But still quite cute.

I was expecting a very sweet scent from Mariah Carey's "M", but it's more floral and girly than sweet. It seems like a tad more powdery version of Britney Spears' Fantasy. I think it's also walking a very fine line between youthful/fresh and old lady powdery. They advertise M as having marshmallow accord, which sounds really delicious, but I do not smell any hint of marshmallow whatsoever... perhaps some of the more seasoned fragrance experts do! However, this is a fairly strong perfume that lasts for an extremely long time. I would recommend to spray with a light hand, otherwise the scent is relatively overpowering. The packaging is fairly tacky, it's like a cheap purple replica of Cartier Delice. I'm pretty in-between with this fragrance, but I don't think I'll be repurchasing.

EDIT: Ok, the magazine sample was bad. Smelling it from the store, it smells quite a bit like my Caress Moroccan Creme Oil body wash. So, it is not so bad, the packaging is supremely tacky though.

I think I am absolutely crazy, for I smell no sweet notes to this perfume. All I can smell is a watered down generic floral scent that a million other perfumes seem to have. The bottle is absolutely tacky and cheap looking, it's typical Mariah style.

Tried this on today at the mall, which was my first stop in a long list of errands-running. I sprayed it on the back of my hand unsniffed (should have sniffed the bottle first!), and my first reaction was to wrinkle my nose at the smell, which was strong and unpleasantly familiar. To my nose, this smells a LOT like cheap hairspray, like AquaNet or something. I figured it would eventually drydown into something more favorable, and continued with my errands. I have to say, this is one strong fragrance - every time I moved my arm the scent wafted through the air, and several hours later after having washed my hands a few times, I can *still* smell it. I wish all of my beloved fragrances had that kind of staying power. A few reviewers compared this to "Fantasy" by Brittany Spears, a scent I own and love - to me, this bears no resemblance at all. For me, it's AquaNet pure and simple.

First of all, I have to say that the bottle is gorgeous. I find Mariah herself, on the tacky side of the street, so I give her credit for this desisgn. The juice itself is quite pretty--I'll always take sweetness over an over-done floral migraine. I find nothing wrong with the fragrance, other than it just has no staying power--even when layered with the lotion. Too bad.

I really, really wanted to love this perfume because the bottle is absolutely gorgeous! Purple glass with a beautiful butterfly top - oh how lovely it would've looked on my vanity! Unfortunately one quick sniff was all I could stomach. I actually recoiled with a little "eeep!" noise after sniffing the bottle. This fragrance is extremely, headache inducingly sweet. I can't even make out any of the notes, it just smells like a cloyingly sweet jumble of unpleasantness. *sigh*

This perfume is yuck spelled with a capital M. My scent ability is stronger then the other senses. The bottle is purple with a butterfly. I tried this 3 times each time it made me sick. I just had to be sure I didn't like this one at all! It reeks more of Moroccan incense that masks any hint of marshmallow scent as advertised. I know that the makers of the perfume actually get to test the scent and they have the final say. I also had heard Mariah was a fan of the Living Tahitian Tiare flower. I don't think this fragrance accommodates this flower at all. This is strong enough to where one spray would overwhelm a room possibly causing others breathing problems. It's way to overwhelming of the incense. I like some of her music and movies. I was hoping this fragrance would smell better. I would advise anyone who plans on getting the perfume to test it first. I would not purchase this fragrance even If I was given the money to. That alone should say enough. "Note" I can't compare this to any of Britney's fragrances. The only sweet scent detected is when its worn for along time but still overpowering.

It's overly sweet just like Britney Spears's fragrances.

Amazing perfume ever. It isn't too strong, sweet but it lingers for a while...very sweet. Hint of Marshmellows!

Ok, so I tried this in the mall, and immediately thought 'yuck, just another celeb fragrance'. But I was definitely not disappointed, because the last thing I need is another fragrance LOL.

But then, about 30 minutes later... the drydown! I absolutely love it! Admittedly I am a fan of sweet foody fragrances, and this delivers on that. Very sweet IMO, but the muskiness of it keeps it from becoming cloying (the way Pink Sugar does on me).

The lasting power was pretty good, too. I might have to succumb to this (and the body lotion!).

To me this is very similar to Fantasy, only slightly less sharp and a tad more mature smelling. Where Fantasy is cotton-candy-cupcake musk, M is marshmallow-floral musk. Something about it reminds me of a purple jelly bean, but that could be the color of the bottle influencing my judgment, speaking of which this cheap-looking purple L'Air du Temps ripoff does not do this scent justice. Not bad but far from great or memorable. I get a slight synthetic bite in the drydown that keeps this from being a '4'. No sale here.

I received a sample of this product and when I first sprayed it on my reaction was "this is too similar to lots of other fragrances around to be much good". On the surface it is similar to a lot of other floral orientals with foody base notes, however when I wear it I find myself smiling. On me this is a warm rich floral with burnt caramel undertones and an amber base. It takes about half an hour to dry down to its full notes and has good lasting qualities. I don't know if I will buy it, I have too many perfumes as it is, but I am very much enjoying my little sample bottle.
Update - I have been wearing this now for three days trying to work out what it reminded me of and Voila! Today I suddenly realised that it smells exactly like an old fashioned lolly called Milk Chews that used to be available when I was a kid. No wonder I like it!!!

I really like this fragrance. It kinda reminds me of pink sugar and fantasy. Pink sugar lasts on me, fantasy does not. It also doesn't have that burnt cotton candy smell that pink sugar does. Overall one of the best celebity scents to come out so far, (just my opinion). I don't find it so strong as other reviewers do. Lasting power is average. When they come out with gift sets, will probably purchase. I think this scent needs to be layered with a body lotion. Worth a try if you like sweet scents.
