I bought this mascara in "Very Black." It's pretty comparable to Max Factor's Lash Perfection. Both lengthen and separate my lashes without clumping. However, I wish it thickened a little more. Both MF and CG flaked a little, but didn't smear (most mascara formulas give me smeared raccoon eyes after an hour, so I'm willing to put up with flakes if it means no smearing). CG's Lash Exact is a little drier (thus holding a curl slightly better than MF) and gives a more natural effect compared to MF. But MF's formula is much blacker than CG's formula, and it also gives a much more magnified and dramatic effect. Pity, because I think I prefer CG's more natural effect, but I prefer MF blacker black. So, I guess I'll keep both tubes around until CG makes a blacker black.

I was skeptical about purchasing this mascara because I've used covergirl mascara before and it was not good quality. The mascaras I used were usually a dry consistency. I ended up waiting until christmas when I had a gift card to get it. I read the reviews on here and I became optimistic. I tried it the next day and without putting primer or conditioner on my lashes, there were no clumps and I didn't even have to use a lash comb!!! My lashes were soo pretty!!! Long enough to be dramatic and voluminous. It's my HG! Even better then L'oreal voluminous. No clumping, it applies wet, but doesn't take forever to dry. It doesn't take a chisel to get it all off either. It stays all day without smudging or flaking, plus it comes off easily with soap and water. What more could you ask for?

Rave, rave, rave! This is a terrific mascara at a reasonable price. I love the packaging. The brush is separated from the tube so you can use it with whatever mascara you want. The bristles are very stiff and there's lots of them clustered together to get between lashes. I use it with the accompanying mascara.

This mascara holds the most wonderful curl. Usually mascaras curl my lashes and droop down a few seconds later. Not with this one. My lashes are curled beautifully. This deserves five stars just for that. But it's also a wonderful separating mascara. It defines each lash beautifully. I also found that I can add on more mascara after the first coat has dried without getting flaky spider lashes.

Third: no smuding or flaking whatsoever. Even through my workout, this did not smear. At all. Plus, it comes off so easily with just my regular cleanser.

This is my new HG mascara. It has everything I wanted and at a great price too.

Awesome mascara even for someone with high standards like me. I used Px's primer before which gave some volume...thick, long lashes that were separated. Perfect!

A pretty impressive mascara at a good price, IF you like the natural look as I do. The rubber bristles seem to do a great job of depositing color without clumps. Love the tube but like another reviewer, I found the separate packaging of the wand and tube to be very wasteful, so I knocked off a few lippies there.

Works much better than Almay One Coat Nourishing, which I was using previously.

Again, a great mascara if you like a very natural look. I have it in brown, which is about as natural as it gets, but it still gives my eyes plenty of definition. However, if you prefer something more dramatic you'd probably want to look elsewhere.

I have long, thick lashes with blonde roots and tips and a dark 'midsection' so i wear mascara to even the color out. Usually i wear Shu Uemera Mascara Basic b/c its so natural looking but i dont like paying $27 (USD) for mascara, my long lashes use it up pretty quick). I had heard raves on here about the Max Factor one with the rubber wand so when i saw this i jumped at the chance to try that kind of brush. I am very pleased.. its a little more defining than the Shu but still leaves all my lashes seperated, which is so necessary for me given the volume of lashes i have. i'll update if i have any wear problems, but for the time being, i'm thrilled and i hope they keep making this.

This is almost as good as Max Factor's Lash Perfection but it looked more natural. It didnt thicken lashes at all and there was no added volume. It even straightened my lashes while i applied it. When I added more coats, it started looking more spidery. The brush is slightly smaller than Max Factor's which is the reason why I think it didnt add volume. I love the color of the packaging but I def will not buy again.

I bought shu uemura fiber extension a month ago after reading so many raves about it. I never wear mascara because it is too much trouble and I cant get it to look right so boy was I surprised when I swiped and I got instant lash extensions! It coats really well and made my short straight droopy asian eyelashes look long! Not much volume though. It's very easy to get mascara on your eyelids but it wipes off easily with water. My dhc deep cleansing oil takes it all off easily at the end of the day. It was my holy grail until the second week when it started drying out and clumping.
I've tried other mascara since then but always come back to this. Max factor lash lift clumps like crazy and does not coat evenly. It also flaked like crazy when I combed my lashes after applying it. Max factor 2000 calorie gave me more volume and length was decent but there are clumps in it too. It uncurled my lashes though and settled into a very natural look...not bad for the price.
I actually found cover girl lash exact at bed bath & beyond after hearing so much about it and max factor lash perfection. The brush coats well and feels like a built in mascara comb. The formula is not that great. It gives me decent length and volume but there is a little clumping(easily combed out though unlike mf lash lift). It's probably the best drugstore mascara. It doesnt wash out as easily as shu uemura.

this is my new hg "natural look" mascara. i've never used a mascara that separated my lashes so well. the lengthening is pretty good. i experienced no clumpling or flaking. my only complaint is i don't get the packaging when you buy it - the wand is separate from the mascara. i don't see the point. but that's just a minor complaint, nothing to do with the quality of the product, which is wonderful.

edit: my initial joy has died down and i have since become somewhat disenchanted. it's nice for a natural daytime look but for a more dramatic look it doesn't cut it. still love it for day tho.

I thought I would add another mascara to my growing collection in the quest for perfect lashes. I found this mascara to be very good quality. As good as the dept store brands. It is amazing for "everyday" wear and clumps barely exist with this brand. I like how the bristles are so small and rubbery.
I found with this brand I have to use a few coats to really get the look I want. It's great for adding length but for adding curl or lift I would not recommend this brand. This mascara did not give me a false lash look but more of a natural look which sometimes looks best to wear to work. I found it did not flake or leave any droppings behind. I would buy this brand again!

All I can say about this is...ehhh. Makes my lashes clumpy, which is no small feat. Instead of looking long and thing, they look long and, well, square. Not a good look for me. Also, this stuff runs like crazy on me. Needless to say, not a repurchase for me. Judging from the reviews, YMMV.

For me, this totally beats Max Factor's Lash Perfection. It doesn't irritate my eyes or flake off like Lash Perfection did.

Lash Exact goes on super smooth without any clumps. It adds serious length and a bit of volume (but not too much, if you want major volume, you might want to look elsewhere). Best of all it keeps lashes really defined - each and every lash is separated perfectly. Never thought I'd praise a Cover Girl mascara like this. But since buying this I haven't even considered trying anything high-end. When you can spend this little and get these results, why bother?

yea!! i finally found this mascara. i have been looking for a while now. i found it at walgreens so it was $7.50, but well worth it. i like the brush with its rubbery bristles. it separates very well. i do use a couple of coats to get the effect that i want, but i love this. it doesn't clump which is GREAT b/c i have yet to find a mascara that builds without looking spider like. this is my new mascara!!! EDIT: well, i decided to drop this down a couple of lippies. yes, it does separate well, but it just doesn't thicken all that great. I also found that the tube dried out way too quickly. I like max factor's lash perfection better.

Having worn this almost daily for two weeks, I can safely say that this is my new HG mascara. Like others on the board, I couldn't get my hands on MF Lash Perfection and when I saw an auction on eBay for a lot of 5 CG LE, I decided to try this out for myself. I'm so glad that I did, because this mascara really lengthens my lashes and doesn't give me racoon eyes at the end of the day. I could see how some people may find this to be clumpy because it is a pretty wet formula, but the key to avoiding this is to wipe off the wand before applying, apply very thin coats, and comb lashes in between coats. I find that I only need 1 or 2 coats of this to get the effect that I want - if I apply more than 2 coats, I find this mascara will flake. Another thing I noticed with this mascara - it actually holds a curl! That's pretty amazing for a non-waterproof formula. This mascara reminds me of Rimmel's Extra Super Lash in its wetness and gel-like consistency. Of course, the CG wand is outstanding - in addition to the rubbery bristles, the thinness of the wand really helps to separate and define each lash, even the little ones in the corners.

Washing this mascara off can be more difficult than other CG mascaras (namely, CG Professional, Super Thick Lash or Fantastic Lash) because I find that it doesn't really melt off, but rather, it comes off in solid pieces - I just make sure that I thoroughly saturate my lashes with my eye makeup remover before wiping off. I own this mascara in Very Black, and Blue - the blue is very dark navy and doesn't really show up as blue on my lashes unless I'm in direct sunlight, but I like that effect. Highly recommended!

First, I gotta say that this is one of the cutest tubes of mascara I've ever seen--a Barbie-purple tube encased by a clear layer--the overall effect is bubbly and girly. The wand is made of short, spiky rubber bristles, just like Max Factor's Lash Perfection (are all of the other cosmetics companies going to roll out knock-offs of the LP brush this year?). I didn't like how the tube of mascara and wand were packaged separately and that there was an extra top to keep the mascara from drying out (done to show off the brush, I suppose)--what a waste.

Anyway, The formula seems to be better though--it is not nearly as clumpy as the LP, glides on more easily, and does a slightly better job at thickening (with about two coats), though lengthening is minimal. The color is a nicely glossy and very black but overall, this gives me a fairly 'natural' look. Curl-holding ability is average at best, and it took a longer time for me to achieve a nice curl using my heated lash wand than with my Maybelline Full & Soft (waterproof).

No smearing, but there was a teeny bit of flaking at the end of the day. This has not irritated my eyes yet (I wear contacts). Just like the LP, Lash Exact dries very stiffly, almost like waterproof mascara, and can be a bit difficult to remove at the end of the day. I like this one better than the LP, overall, but not enough to get another tube when I run out. This is because: a) Clumpy mascara doesn't bother me a lot since Full & Soft (my HG) hardly ever clumps at all so it's not like a rubber wand is the answer to my mascara prayers (how about an easily-removable, non-wp, curl-holding, volumizing and lengthening mascara that never smears or flakes?). b) I have a metal-toothed lash comb, which takes care of any clumps that do show up. c) The F&S mascara gives me better thickening and volume, but doesn't make my lashes crunchy or harsh-looking (Lash Exact and Lash Perfection tend to give me pointy eyelashes). F&S remains unchallenged in its HG status :)

Finally a mascara that produces fantastic results and is easy on my sensitive eyes! I bought this mascara for it's cool applicator wand, and have been using it as my mascara staple ever since. My only qualm (and it's a small one) is even the "very black" color isn't as black as my old mascara. I will continue using and buying this mascara.

Pretty much the best mascara ever made. It lifts, lengthens, and separates each eyelash so it looks like I have a lots of them. This is pretty impressive since I have short, sparse, thin and broken-off eyelashes from all the abuse. If you put a couple coats on, you get reasonable volume too. The best part about this, is that it doesn't uncurl my eyelashes at all and they just look perfect all day. I still want to try MF Lash Perfection if it ever gets to Canada. FYI - I found this in PharmaPlus for about $6 CDN

FINALLY! I stumbled upon 2 huge displays of this stuff at a really out-of-the-way Kmart in my area. I'm soooo glad I did! No clumping! Defines beautifully! Lengthens like a dream! I use 2 coats of this for defining and lengthening, and 1 or 2 coats of L'Oreal Voluminous for volume. Whew! Look out! My lashes look wonderful! My friend thought I had on fake lashes! That is truly a compliment! I'll be even happier when CG decides to roll this out permanently so I won't have to drive to Timbuktu to buy it.
