I agree with everyone here in that this mascara doesn't clump, which is amazing. But it also doesn't thicken, doesn't lengthen, and generally doesn't do much else IMO besides darken your lashes. Plus I'm having a problem with the brush---the bristles are super sharp! I like to apply my mascara right up to the base of my eyelid for the most effect (like most of us, I'm sure) and I have to use a super light hand, or it hurts my eyes. Maybe i'm just sensitive, I don't know. But for an everyday, natural looking mascara, it serves it's purpose, and the price is right. I'll use up what's left but won't repurchase.

For anyone who loves Lancome Definicils mascara, but can't always afford a $20+ mascara every month or so, this is for you! I still pick Definicils hands down, but hey, $22 vs. $7, you can't expect too many miracles in one lifetime. Anyway, this is great for those "can't afford Lancome" months.

I do prefer Max Factor's Lash Perfection over this one, thought not by much. Of course they have the awesome rubber bristle brush (I swear I will never go back to traditional brushes), and are pretty identical in appearance (the permanent MF ones are out at Longs and look exactly like the Cover Girl one, only it's in navy blue and CG is in purple. They both display the brush, have the tube capped separately, plus the tube and the top of the wand are basically the same design). However, Lash Exact leaves my lashes feeling a tad crunchier and it flakes more on me by the end of the day. Still, it's a great mascara for only $6 or so and it holds a curl pretty well since the formula is lightweight -- some "wiltage" but not that bad. Also, like MF Lash Perfection, it doesn't smudge! I have straight Asian lashes that point downward, so most formulas end up underneath my lower lashline, even when I curl them (as many mascaras just wilt the curl out anyway). As for the color, I bought Very Black and it is indeed very black. They also have (if I remember correctly) a Soft Black, a Black Brown, and also a straight Brown. As a side note, I find it very interesting that one formula would actually work better for me than the other. Aren't Max Factor and Cover Girl both owned by Proctor & Gamble now? That would explain the packaging similarities, but oh well.

I thought My maybelline lash expansion was my HG but after hearing this on MUA and trying it out afterwards, Lash Exact is replacing my old HG! I have short straight lashes (i'm Asian) and this added definition, length and a little curl without clumping (of course with 2-3 coats)! It lasted all day and there was no smearing or smudging! I am quite impressed. If i curled my lashes with an eyelash curler and aplied this, I have amazing lashes that makes me look doe-eyed! Love this!

This is great mascara. It defines my lashes without clumping. My lower lashes even look good.

Huge Rave!! I did a comparison with Lash Exact and Max Factor 2000 Calorie. ( I put LE on one eye and MF2000 on another. I asked my mother and older brother which mascara looked better and they both picked the lash exact eye! Definatly my HG mascara. The price is fantastic for such a great product! Buy this now!

I love this mascara. I was looking for something that was subtle, for an every day mascara, and this totally fits the bill. I like the brush, it does not seem to get too full of mascara. I think this may replace Maybelline Full & Soft, which I had been using for years. It does not seem to flake and it dries fast. I still plan to use a more dramatic waterproof mascara for when I go out, but I like this for daytime.

I was excited to try this mascara but I don't think it's for me. I have short lashes and I want drama. You won't get it with this. This is a perfectly fine mascara for those that want an everyday mascara that just enhances their lashes, but for me, I need some volume and pop and this just didn't do it. If you're a fan of Volumenous or any lash building mascara, I don't think you'll like this -- just my opinion. If you want a natural look, go for it -- it's not a bad mascara, just not what I'm expecting for my look. :)

Very nice lengthening mascara, good for a natural look. I'm especially impressed with the brush, which has shortened my makeup routine: you don't have to scrape or wipe the bristles first, and a lash comb is optional (but I still use it to fan out my lashes). Most importantly for me, it does not smear on me by the end of a day's wear. I do wish it were a bit more dramatic, but it does its job very well. For reference, I have naturally long black lashes.

Really good everyday mascara. Goes on easily and smoothly and lasts very well, won't smudge or flake. It will pull out your curl a little. The brush is the same as Max Factor Lash Perfection but I hated that stuff - this formula is better. Doesn't lengthen or thicken much but darkens and defines without clumping. A winner!

Okay.. let me just start out by stating that I have always hated Cover Girl products.. I always thought they were low quality makeup.. so I was hesitant to try this product. But that brush is what got me so curious.. I had to try it.. and I am so glad I did. I am BEYOND impressed. (and I totally forgive Cover Girl now for all the crappy products I have tried from them over the years). Okay.. this brush is AMAZING. I don't know why no one thought of this years ago. NO CLUMPS! And I am also shocked that the formula of the mascara is good too. I got it in "Very Black" and yes.. it is VERY black. (unlike the crappy Maybellibe "Blackest Black" which really wasn't that dark on my blonde lashes). I have very oily lids and I got NO smudges. This stuff really stuck on my lashes for hours. It is also worth mentioning that for some reason this mascara instantly curls my lashes.. I don't know how, but it does! Perfectly defined, clump-free, black lashes. What more could you ask for? I have to say I am shocked that I love a drugstore mascara this much. I like this better than some of the $25 mascaras I have tried. I hope it holds up over time.. I've only used it for 2 days so far...

First of all, this is my first review, but I had to let people know how much I love this mascara. I'm a PPP with short, blone, almost invisible lashes. Lash Exact separated and defined my lashes like no other mascara has done for me, and really made my eyes look more open, if that makes sense. I chose Brown because I'm so fair and tend to look like a racoon in Black, and it was a perfect Brown for me. Dark enough to show up well, but still look natural. It didn't clump or flake for me at all. Love love love it!

Love this mascara. I have been searching for one that works on me, older eyes. This is it and it is a lot cheaper than many others. This does not give me panda eyes. Lashes are nicely defined. Comes off easily when I want to take it off. Much better than the Diorshow that I spent big bucks on and did not like at all. The all time best mascara was the Lancome Immencils that has not been available for many years.

I have this in Very Black and I find I like it better than my MF Lash Perfection. I prefer the formula as it doesn't dry and flake like the Lash Perfection. It lasts for the good part of the day, doesn't smudge, and holds curl pretty well. For an everyday mascara, I find this can't be beat.

I bought this because I couldn't wait any longer for the Max Factor Lash Perfection mascara, hehe :Þ I bought this probably about a month and a half ago. I used it daily, and probably at the beginning of this week, it started flaking and (gasp) clumping. I can understand, though... using it pretty much 6 days a week for a month and a half... that actually lasted longer than my other mascaras. Overall, if Max Factor's Lash Perfection mascara doesn't win me over, I'd repurchase this again :)

PS: No matter how clumpy or cruddy it becomes with age... It doesn't SMEAAAAR!!! YAAAAAY!!! :) :) :) MAJOR plus, even though I will be trashing it soon ;Þ

I wanted to try Max Factor's Lash Perfection but couldn't seem to find it. I guess it was a Limited Edition? Anyways, I saw this at Target and thought the rubber brush was ingenious!! I decided to buy it and give it a whirl. I got Blackest Black which it really is. I was kind of skeptical because I usually use waterproof mascara because it keeps the curl in. I tried this as soon as I got home! The brush made it really easy to apply and there were no clumps at all!! I noticed that it kept in the curl relatively well but not as well as my waterproof mascara. This mascara looks very natural so if you want something that is very dramatic, I don't think you should buy this mascara! I really like the purple pink packaging too. It's really cute and girly. Something I would love to keep in my purse! I think after I use up this mascara, I will keep using the brush because it is so neat! It's so cheap, I might go pick up another one! This also washes off so much easier than my usual waterproof mascaras!!

I already have the Max Factor version of this brush/mascara and I really like it. I had high hopes for the more readily available Cover Girl mascara. Unfortunately, although it gave me a nice natural look with good definition, it also flaked up a storm after about three hours. By the end of the day most of the color was off my lashes and around my eyes. Really disappointing. And although the brush is similar to MF, it doesn't work as well for me. Won't repurchase.

I had such high hopes for this one, but I should have known better than to trust CoverGirl!

This mascara did NOTHING to volumize or lengthen my lashes, and didn't even separate that well. It was SPIDER CITY, let me tell you!
I suppose this would be OK for daytime provided you wipe off the brush really well, but there are better cheap mascaras for daytime out there.

I bought this mascara for $7.99 yesterday. It's a little more expensive than covergirls other mascaras, but I was eager to try the new brush. After the test drive, I love love love the flexible rubber brush of this mascara. It seperates, lifts, and curls my wimpy short lashes easily in 2-3 coats. The Covergirl formula is a bit clumpy and flaky but I was happy with the result. Still the sake of experiment, I washed and brush after i tested the original cover girl formula and dipped the brush into my max factor 2000 calories and tested again. And Wow on top of all the nice things I just mentioned, I got volume, length and no clumping! It was as if I was wearing false lashes. My lashes are so big and perfectly defined that even my husband noticed it (he is my lash-noticebility-o-meter because he thinks i was born without lashes). I think I will continue to try this brush on my other mascara collections. Gosh I wish they can make some disposible brushes of this kind. If you bought this wand, and is ok with the formula, try dipping it in your favorite mascara. I think you will be happy, too.
