The absolute only reason I tried this perfume is because I got a sample. Celebrity fragrances totally turn me off, and I have never cared for Mariah Carey. Seriously, I NEVER would have tried this. I almost passed on the sample. I am glad that I didn't, because apparently, Mariah and I share a love of purple, butterflies, and this perfume. I like it so much that I am going to buy it despite my avid hatred of celebrity perfumes and my general apathy concerning Mariah herself. It goes on a bit sweet on me, but then dries down very pleasantly.

Beautiful package...awful perfume! I thought it was nice at first but this stuff stinks and smells straight out cheap. Like burnt marshmellows trying to be sweet??! No good..but absolutely gorgeous package!

This fragrance surprised me. I expected a very very sweet, very young, teenybopper scent(who can blame me judging from the bottle), but upon inspecction, M reveals itself to be a very incense-y, smoky scent, with a significant resemblance to Bond Chinatown. A bit too much incense and smoke for my taste, but if you love Chinatown, definitely check it out.

I have to admit, I hate celebrity fragrances and I don't like Mariah Carey. I figured, "How good can it be? It's Mariah Carey." I was pleasantly surprised however. I absolutely love tiare and there's a fantastic balance between the sweet and the incense. Not too powdery which is fantastic in my opinion. I think this is a really versatile fragrance that can be used for day or evening and is generally a crowd pleaser. DH really likes it, which is saying something. I am still pretty embarrassed to admit to anyone that it's Mariah Carey's fragrance, but it really does smell great. I have to say I am pretty happy with it. The only thing I really don't like though is the bottle. The big, chunky butterfly on the cap is kind of stupid and juvenile looking in my opinion, but whatever, I store my perfumes out of light to preserve them so I don't have to look at it. That really is my only complaint. Staying power is pretty decent. Overall, very nice.

I ADORE THIS!!! It smells yummy and delicious beyond words, something addictive. I just wish it was sweeter and more candy-like, I wish it smelled A LOT more like marshmallow, less floral and less incense and it would be dreamy.

At first, I thought it smelled sweet and candylike like Hanae Mori, but then a stench arose of mothballs and cigarette smoke. It is a nostril tickling blend of dustiness that will. not. go. away. Hate it, although I can see it might work for others. My nose is still quivering at the memory.

When this perfume first came out I tried it on a test strip and I didn't like it at all! I waited a few weeks and then I tried it again but this time I tested this out on my wrist and I let it dry down. I fell in love with it. I decided that I was gonna go to the place where I usually buy my perfumes and get this. That's exactly what I did I bought the big size and I love it. The bottle is beautiful just like Mariah herself. It smells like marshmellows and I think that's cute. When this bottle finishes I'm definitely getting another one.

After using this perfume for some time it has become my HG scent. I LOVE it and I can't wait to buy more.

I didn't buy this.. even though I was considering it cuz of the great reviews here... but I'm glad I didn't! I spritzed it at the perfume counter and.. I hated it. It smells like Britney Spears' Fantasy.. just a little heavier on the bottom notes.. possibly the musk.. Not my cup of tea, I'm not a fan of the gourmand/sweeter scents...

I'm glad I didn't buy this. This was one of my free samples from a www.beauty.com purchase. M doesn't do it for me. I agree with everyone who said that it is musky (and not in a good way). Honestly, it smells kind of manly to me. Maybe a manly old lady would like it. Everyone is different, so it may smell great on you, but try M out before you purchase it. Oh, and it does have staying power.

I just received a sample of this and I applied it about two hours ago. The staying power is good so far, since many fragrances fade within a few minutes it seems! This is a little too strong and kind of cheap smelling to me. The scent itself is ok, but it does not smell like a high end fragrance, more like a drugstore spray...I will possibly use up my sample but I would never buy this. It is too expensive and unimpressive.

I LOVE this scent--you can definitely smell the marshmallow in it. I first smelled this at an Ulta store and didn't know what fragrance it was because there was a security sticker covering up the "M" on the bottom of the purple bottle. I hunted around until I figured out which brand of perfume it was. I didn't buy it at the time but a few weeks later I found it on sale at Macy's as part of a gift set, along with a tube of the lotion and some glitter powder thing, which I'm sure I'll never use. My only complaint is that the perfume itself doesn't seem to have a lot of staying power. Today, I layered it with the lotion and it seems to be helping. I can still smell it halfway through the day that way. The bottle is very pretty but I'm not crazy about the awkward butterfly cap.

This is not a bad perfume. I liked it at first than I wore it in the summer on a hot day and my DH was like you smell like my grandmother so I don't think I will be wearing this anymore. He said it smelled like bad insence. However the bottle is very pretty.

LOVE this scent!
Marshmallow and incense, whoever thought these two things would go together? But they do, and they do it beautifully. Its all wrapped up in Tiare petals and is so sensual. Its a very sweet scent, and has a decent lasting power. The lotion is heavier on the incense, and layering it with the fragrance produces a more incense intense scent.
Only gripe is the packaging, (one lippie off for that) has anyone found what looks like sugar crystals around the neck of the bottle, where the lid touches it?
Its the silver colour from the bottom of the lid mingling with the perfume and leaving a sugary type residue around the base of the neck, so I'm often having to wipe it off.
The underside of the base of the lid has lost its silver, and its happened to all 3 bottles I've bought.
Other than that, the bottle is gorgeous, the box is gorgeous and the scent is beautiful.

Actually, I'm undecided about buying this again. I really like the amber-Moroccan incense scent this dries down to, and it's long-lasting (and reasonably priced!). Be warned, though, that it is very sweet at first -- and by "at first," I mean for almost the first hour you wear it. I guess that's due to the Tiare flower and gardenia in it. If you like the strong, sweet scents of those white flowers, you will love this. As other reviewers have noted, M can be overwhelming initially. It's not the scent you want to spray on just before your date comes to pick you up or just before getting into a small, enclosed space, such as a car, with other people. Still, I do get a lot of compliments on this one. The purple bottle with the butterfly on top seems like it's aimed at the teenager market -- I'm a little embarrassed to have such a girly thing on my dresser!

I was searching for a scent with marshmallows in it. When I researched I came across "M" by Mariah Carey. I went to both Macys and Sephora to smell it to make sure it doesn't smell different. Every website advertises M to have this sweet marshmallow note in it, it is barely there. On the initial spray I smell the marshmallows but then it dies to a bunch of powder!!!! (You can still smell the marshmallows but it is very very faint) I HATE POWDER scents omg I felt like I was choking. I can home disapointed and still n search of marshmallows. I took a shower the next day to go to class and I spritz some VS Vanilla Lace on my pulse points where I sprayed the Mariah Carey perfume. It smelled sooo good together. Eventhough I took a shower you can still smell traces of "M". When you mix it with vanilla lace is smells s0o dreamy OMGOODNESSS I'm n love now.. I just wish M was sweeter on its own. Its sweet but powdery-floral sweet, I want marshmallow-vanilla sweet. I will use VS vanilla body lotion for the smell and then apply M and get the scent I was craving for.

OMG I LOVE it!!!
It's yummy and very addictive. Sweet but I wish it was even sweeter and more candy-like, but still I love it. I can notice the marshmallow, it's like a marshmallow scent mixed with incense, I wish it was just a total marshmallow scent without the incense, it'd be better, but still I LOVE it!!
I love it especially because of the marshmallow and because of its lack of fruit notes, and because it smells sooo good, but what I like the most about it is the marshmallow of course;)

Love this fragrance! It is definitely for someone who likes sweet foody scents a la Fantasy, Pink Sugar etc. To me "M" is lighter than either one of these and not overpowering at all. It's a beautiful scent for any time of the day and, I think, fitting for a woman of any age.

I really like the bottle on this, and concur with the reviewer who referred to its resemblance to the bottle of "My Queen." Unfortunately, I do not like this fragrance. It has an odd note, which smells a little like something that has burned. As one reviewer said, possibly an incense smell. I just didn't care for that at all.
By the way, this is an Elizabeth Arden fragrance.

I recieved a deluxe sample of this fragrance and I have to say its lovely! It has a soft, dreamy smell that is completely non-obtrusive! It lasts a very long time, I put it on at bedtime and could still smell it on my wrists when I woke up. This fragrance is excellent for day-wear and evening wear - just about any time. I got compliments about how good I smell when I wore it to work. Love it!

The bottle is lovely and very girlie, I love the amethyst jewel tone of purple. Even tho, I love the bottle, I don't love the fragrance held within. M to me does smell faintly of marshmellows, violets, citronella and cinnamon. It is sweet, but not overtly so. M lies very close to the skin. One would have to get very close to even smell it. There's something in M that I'm very allergic to. I'm allergic to citronella and I'm sure that M has it listed as an ingredient. It's not my cup of tea, but I'm sure many will love it.
