Great mascara brush, good mascara. I got it in black and it goes on in a thin even layer. It flakes much less than many mascaras (which is my peeve as I wear hard contact lenses and ANY debris feels like someone is jabbing you in the eye with a toothpick). I don't wear heavy mascara but I need some and this works very well. No smell, not clumpy. I am pleased.

One word...smudgetastic!
It doesn't have a fragrance which was nice, the packaging was nice also, the brush wasn't too big....it'd be great if it wasn't smudgy!
This is only one mascara on my quest to find my HG mascara. I'm putting this one down and looking ahead.

I was drawn to this mascara because it was a more trendy brand but had a discount store price. I like it a lot, but wouldn't say it's a cure-all product for my skimpy lashes.
Pros:
- Price - under $10 if I remember correctly.
- Consistency - it's not to watery or too dry right away.
- Smudge-free, comes off easily, and doesn't bother my contacts.
- No plastic/cardboard packaging around it.
- Narrow brush head makes it easy to wiggle back and forth for bottom lashes and at the base of your upper lash line.
Cons:
- Doesn't add much length.
- If you like to "build" layers like I do for extra volume, this doesn't really seem to help.
Overall, it's a good daily-use mascara that covers your lashes thoroughly, but doesn't deliver much drama that you might want for nighttime or dressing up.

I bought this at Sephora because I was desperate for a mascara. A sephora opened a few months ago in my town and I wanted to go and find a mascara. Stila was cheap, or cheaper than the others so I decided to buy it. The color is really dark, like pitch black on my already dark lashes. The wand is really long with a short "handle" which is hard to handle, that's the only complaint. It didn't smudge or flake. I may buy this again, not sure.

I absolutely loooove this mascara! I even like it better than Diorshow! It separates my lashes, lengthens, and doesn't clump. I have had zero problem with smudging either. And I love that it's only 8 or 9 dollars...by the time you use it up it's time to throw the tube away anyway!!

I got this for free when I recently purchased the Blu Orchid palette. I wasn't expecting much from this, considering the mixed reviews, but I've been pleasantly surprised! First off, I love the long thin brush that gets down right in the base of your lashes and actually separates and applies very evenly. The formula is thin, which is wonderful because it won't dry up quickly like my regular Neutrogena mascara. I have to say, I have a TERRIBLE time with mascaras. Most of them irritate and burn my eyes, but this one lasts all day and doesn't irritate at all. Also, I actually got something in my eye today and it started watering like mad. I had to rub the outside of my eye with the back of my finger and I was expecting a nasty mascara mess on my finger. To my delight, the mascara stayed put! When I run out, I will seriously consider repurchasing.

I was surprised how cheap this mascara is.....only $8.50 & it makes my lashes much darker & gives them nice definition & some volume for my tiny asian eyelashes. I always use an eyelash curler so I don't know how well it curls on its own.....but I like it anyways. Cruelty-free, cheap.......also it is a very wet wet mascara, so it needs time to dry so it doesn't smudge. I like how it doesn't clump on me either. :)

I got this in a swap, and I am so pleased! I had previously been using MAC mascara exclusively. I like this mascara much better. It goes on easier, leaves a nice even coat and doesn't clump.

Most mascaras smudge on me at some point, but this one smudges after 5 minutes. I actually threw this away.

This just might be going into the trash in a little bit. It has all the potential of being a good mascara for me, but it falls short. I don't understand. It is really thick with one of those monstrous Diorshow type brushes and yet I get no volume or length. At least none to write home about. I'm disapointed.
***UPDATE*** I kinda like it now. It is incredibly black and thick and makes my lashes stand out, but from the side. It'll do. I guess...

I got this mascara in a Stila set I bought online. I read the reviews on here before the mascara arrived so I wasn't expecting much from the mascara itself but I actually quite like it. The brush wand really grabs the lashes from root to tip and while it doesn't lengthen and thicken quite as much as I like it doesn't do too bad of a job. It doesn't clump and it doesn't smudge. I have been wearing this mascara daily to work and I would purchase again.
Update: The more I wear this the more I like it, my lashes look really great I might be back to upgrade to a 5 if my love affair continues ....

I'm really surprising myself here, but I actually quite like this mascara. In my search for the HG mascara I am always buying new ones and then after a couple of weeks chucking them out because they smudge. I have noticed that in the interim time I keep on coming back to Major Lash.
Major is a major overstatement by the way! You ain't gonna get fat, long lashes here. But, the colour is good: black and shiny, the texture is not too clumpy either. It's a good basic. There is flaking - so if that's your bugbear say no. But minimal smudging for me and I have ISSUES with smudging. I have tried all of Stila's mascaras and this one is my favourite. If you're in need of a work drawer staple - you could do a lot worse.

After a two-day dalliance with Lancome Fatale (which went right back to Sephora on account of the fact that it gave me nastylash), I find myself wondering how I could have strayed from Stila Major Lash. It is CHEAP (the $8.50 tube at Sephora lasts me a couple of months, at least), feels like I am wearing nothing at all and gives me a fantastic set of lashes.
I have short, blond, straight, skimpy lashes, and I use one coat for day and two to three at night. I always curl with my Shu curler first. This stuff doesn't budge all day for me and makes my eyes look more awake. Love it, love it, love it.

I got this in the best of stila set. I have tryed it a handfull of times, it is a good basic mascara, it lengthens a little, seperates, and gives a bit of volume. it's not waterproof. However, the price isn't worth it for me, I can find the same or better mascara for cheaper.
Might buy again but probably not.

Nothing special. It lengthens and defines, but not by much. Longer, delicate lashes. Wouldn't spend so much when a drug store brand would suffice and I would expect more from Stila. All right but not spectacular.

This adds just a hint of length and volume but it is also really dry and flakes easily and doesn't apply too smoothly or consistently. The tube opening gets messy easily and it dried out after only a couple weeks.

I hate ditto-ing a previous reviewer so completely, but makeup queen got it right; nothing special, an everyday mascara.
I have average lashes, so "nothing special" isn't going to cut it when I want them lengthened and more volume. On the other hand, when I'm doing my usual office look; sheer nudes and pinks without a lot of heavy liner, this mascara works just fine. Lashes darkened but no drama, even with two coats.
I tend to hate that breaking-in period with a new tube of mascara, so I don't know if this is going to stay wet and smeary once it has a chance to air out over the course of a few applications, but if so, it's going in the trash; I've yet to apply without some getting on my lid, no matter how far I tip my head back. I'm reminded strongly of Maybelline Great Lash so far, and that's not a good thing in my book.

I think this is a great everyday mascara...it doesn't work wonders, but it still makes my lashes look nice...nothing dramitic about my lashes while using this mascara...it makes them look very lady like...however it is one of the best mascaras that I have tried lately..I'm still in search of the perfect mascara

I dub thee the poor man's Diorshow.
Seriously, ladies. Since I discovered Sephora at the tender age of fourteen, every time I have walked in I have swiped on some Diorshow. I call it "porn star lash" behind its back. I love it, I love it, I love it but I am prone to eye infections and all mascaras get tossed and replaced strictly at the two-month mark---usually only 1/4 or 1/2 done. I can't justify spending more than $10 for something I throw away in two months, certainly not $25 Diorshow. I've been trying d/s mascaras for years trying to reach those porn star lashes---and I do believe I have finally found it!
Yes, it's not d/s, but it's cheaper than quite a few d/s mascaras (Neutrogena and your $9 piles of crap, I'm looking at YOU), and it's AMAZING! One coat on top and bottom lashes is enough to nearly copy Diorshow's effect on my lashes. Another light coat on the ends of lashes and I literally can't tell the difference between this and Dior. It can be a touch globby on the first stroke, but a quick blink onto a tissue and all globs are vanished. I love the super-slim wand---I know the product on the sides won't be wasted, and it fits into every purse I own.
Will DEFINITELY repurchase, and I'm so glad I took a chance on it!
