I really like this mascara. It gives my lashes length and holds my curl. Doesn't flake or smudge on my oily lids. The formula is smooth. I don't find it to clump or get goopy like others have mentioned. Gives a nice look with some impact.

The brush is similar to the MAC Plush Lash and Bourjois Volume Clubbing brush where two sides are flat with tiny bristles and two sides have long bristles. This one is a little different because the tip of the brush has coils like a traditional mascara brush. The difference between the top and the bottom of the brush make it come out a little unevenly. The formula is also very goopy and tends to clump. It does make your lashes look really full and a little longer too. The color, Gotham is a very deep dark black, too. It is really soft so my lashes don't break; it claims to have an ingredient which helps prevent lashes from falling out, but I did not notice a difference after using this on and off for a little over a month. It flakes a little and I'm not so sure about smudging (I have dry skin).

Smudgy, gloopy and basically, a really awful mascara. I did however, really like the colour. It looked really black on my lashes. It didn't lengthen, didn't give a curl let alone hold it and it took ages to persevere with in order to make it work. Cheerio skyscraper mascara! (As i chuck it across the room!)

I wish I could give this a 4 and 1/2. If you understand how to use the brush (use the flat side, then turn to use the bristles to comb mascara to tips of lashes) it's AWESOME. The first mascara where I felt like I was almost wearing fakes, extremely thick and inky lashes and haven't gotten as dramatic of a look with anything else--I've tried lash blast, lancome hypnose, max factor 2000, loreal voluminous (which I hate--what is with ppl???), Maybelline full n' soft (see previous comment), and Mac X. The deal breaker? VERY dry and flaky formula. Makes me sad, because if they could moisten the formula I'd stick with this, but it does flake and when I went to take it off, it came of in flakes.

I'll admit I was ambivalent about this at first, mostly because of the brush, but after much waffling I have to admit the truth: Skyscraper is my HG mascara!
It's still not perfect: The formula is a bit "wet," and it can smudge on my incredibly oily skin.
That said, I love Skyscraper because, when used with MAC's Prep + Prime Lash, Skyscraper (in the black black shade "Gotham") makes my naturally unremarkable lashes long, thick and inky black.
I've tried and tried to find a less pricey alternative, and thought I'd found it in Avon's "Longest Lashes Ever," but that was discontinued! I do find MAC's Zoomlash to be *almost* Skyscraper's equal, but Zoomlash falls a bit short in the lengthening department.
So, especially since I've gotten the hang of the brush, I'll just stick with Skyscraper, because it's totally worth it!

This is a good lengthening mascara and has a nice pigmented rick black color. I recieved a sample-sized tube of this in the Urban Arsenal Kit made by Urban Decay. This is definately the weakest product in the kit. It includes 4 eyeshadows: Roach (pretty good reddish warm brown, but not always flattering on me, it all depends on my outfit and/or what other makeup I pair it with) Shotgun (a really pretty rose-pink-brown with shimmer that always looks good on me). Half Baked (gold glimmer that's just okay). Midnight Cowboy Rides Again (my fave beige with gold, silver, bronze, and copper glitter). The Naked Lip Gloss (a neutral brownish pink with great shine... really pretty). The Eyeshadow Primer Potion (awesome with every single one of my shadows, and not just the Urban Decay ones) Big Fatty Lip Plumper (clear gloss with a nice tingly effect and gold shimmer... good for special occassions, especially). and Score Blush (a pretty bright peach.... I usually prefer pink or rose blushes but this does look good on me even with my coolish skintone with certain clothes and other makeup. This mascara is pretty much crappy despite the kit that's awesome overall. This stuff smudges and smears like crazy. Major raccoon eyes particularly by the end of the afternoon and evening. The brush is good, but I would not repurchase separate from the kit. In fact, I much just repurchase the products/shades I like instead of buying the entire kit again, so I can get larger sizes in those products I enjoy using. The packaging is so beautiful, though Shiny purple box with a black background with red roses on the top along with gold colored accents and the words Urban Decay written in cursive script in the same shade of purple as the majority of the box. I'd reccomend that you purchase the kit, but not the full sizr of this mascara, at least until you try a sample size at Sephora or another counter or department store or bu trying the one included in the awesome Urban Arsenal pallette. Love UD stuff overalll an awesome brand with good products and shades that are both pretty and classic and/or totally unique and different. I can't sing the praises for Urban Decay high and loud eniough!!!

I've never been able to wear mascara without severe smudging. The only mascara I've ever been able to use was Cover Girl's Anti-Smudge Mascara and they quit making that years ago. For years, I've gone without mascara and have even dyed my lashes to get around mascara. I've had enough. I am determined to find a mascara that does not smudge. Based on the reviews on this site, I purchased it in Black at my local Ulta store. Before trying, I used an eyelash curler to ensure my lashes were curled. The big test was the smudging. On a scale of 1-10 with 1 being major racoon eyes, I would say this was a 5. I had alot of smudging AND flaking. Additionally, it tended to clump on the wand. I returned it.
The search continues...Check out my other reviews!

This comes in Gotham, a black-black. This used to be my HG before NYX Doll Eye Volume Extreme came out. I have long dark lashes naturally, so a light coating of this a followed by a combing is all I need for lots of definition and separation. Again, I have dark lashes naturally, so I can't comment on the color. Please note that this isn't waterproof/sweatproof.

All right... This used to be my Holy Grail but now I'm not so sure. It seems that the drugstore options out there are quite good. I'm a big fan of MF 2000 calorie and I may try that next. This is a great mascara because of the brush. It's got flat sides to it and it really makes my lashes look buff. I'm not so jazzed about the formula for the price. I seem to be clearing away flakes everytime I look in the mirror.I like a strong eye look and this is a problem. I guess I can get the lingerie and galoshes primer/sealer but that seems like a lot of trouble and more $.

The mascara is alright, but it started clumping after only a couple of weeks. I have to wipe my eyelashes a little after I put on the mascara because there are clumps on the brush. It makes my lashes look good but for the amount of money I Paid i expect it to last a while without clumping.

I loooove the brush in this mascara, in fact I think I will keep the brush around after it is gone. The dual sides of the brush (flat and thick) along with the tip are awesome at getting every lash and lengthening. However the formula like many others smudges and smears by mid morning... I really need to find my HG :(

I rather like this mascara. I love the brush design, a few other brands have a flat brush like this and it works really well to deposit the product onto the lashes using the flat part, and then you use the edge to comb it out. Fantastic for me and anyone who has puny, baby-fine lashes that do not penetrate into a thicker brush. This mascara gives me really dark, thick lashes, which is exactly what I need. The formula is a bit dry, but that may have been just my tube, or the fact that I had this for about 2 months in a drawer before actually using it. Works great even without a primer. I have a ton of mascara stockpiled right now, but were I to run out, this would be a serious contender for repurchase!

This mascara is VERY dry. I have to put 4 coats on before i get the effect that i would get from a $6.00 mascara. I WILL NEVER BUY THIS AGAIN!

I am an Urban Decay addict - almost all my makeup is UD. However, I am not really a fan of this mascara. I do love the funky brush, as it is really good at getting all those tiny little hairs I have at the inner corners of my eyes, but the formula just sucks. After a few hours, my lashes go limp and the mascara is completely gone from them, no matter how many coats I had put on. It's such a waste if $16.50. The fantastic brush is completely wasted on a crappy formula. I will not repurchase this unless the mascara itself is changed.

Having read some of the reviews for this product I was a little nervous about trying it - however, I LOVE Urban Decay (their products are funky, ethical and not full of wierd stuff) and thought I'd take the plunge... I am so glad I did! I'm a glasses wearer, which means I need to make a little extra effort to get my eyes noticed - and this does the job!! Here are some of the things I love about it...
* The wand - yes it takes some getting used to, but if you apply gently and with a little self-control (!) the results are natural and luscious.
* The length!! Wow! Even with no other make-up, this makes such a difference to my face.
* Consistency of the product - this is glossy and ultra-smooth, and doesn't leave my lashes feeling brittle and plastic-y.
* The packaging - the tube is very slim and sleek and very lightweight, which just seems sensible, really.
... and the cons? Well, it's not the cheapest - but then, I never buy cheap cosmetics. What your mama said was mostly true - you get what you pay for.
Overall, this is a fab product! I don't think you'll be disappointed.

HG mascara if used with Lingerie and Galoshes. I used to use Lashout, LashExact, LashArchitect, anything from the drugstore- but this is the most incredible and feminine mascara ever. Perfection. It looks great with or without LG, but with LG it's just perfect...Thick, sexy, whatever you feel like lashes.

I was very disappointed with this product. it is hard to get off (you need a waterproof eye makeup remover for it) but it is not waterproof!!!!! I was caught in the rain while shopping and when I saw my reflection in the store I was horrified to find that I looked like someone from KISS!! and then, I couldn't get the smeared makeup off because it was almost dry again so I had to go around with clown eyes. aside from that, the formula made my lashes stick together, did not make them any longer and really didn't thicken either. I like maybelline full n soft better as a waterproof mascara and benefit badgal lash for everyday and going out.

This was ok. Gave a really glossy black color to my lashes that I really liked, and seemed to thicken them up. But it also gets clumpy. Thank goodness for the sonia kashuk lash comb I have. It helped the product go on more smoothly. I wear contacts, and I didn't sense any irritation.
