I bought this once because I heard so many good reviews on it. It wasn't long lasting at all. After an hour or so of driving, it started to smear onto my lids and I haven't used it since. I prefer gel eyeliner to anything else.

I used this about three years ago and wondered why I stopped when I recently picked it up again. Then I remembered. Like many of the reviews below me, this eyeliner is not meant for oily lids. Close to the end of my work day, it smudges all over my lids and sometimes transfers down to my bottom lashes, leaving me with raccoon eyes. The black is a nice matte, but it cracks on me in the middle of the day.

I think this is best for people who have dry lids.

This eyeliner gives a very matte finish, but does crack a bit after drying so I recommend waiting for it to dry at first and then doing another even coat. It stays a LONG time so make sure you correct any mistakes right away.

Problem with this for me is that it burns the heck out of my lid. I didn't think this was a big deal at first since it just burnt for about a minute and then seemed okay, but later at night when I was removing it, I got some in my eye. Oh my god I think it would've been less painful to pour liquid soap into my eye. :( So I won't be using it again but I thought I'd let you guys know - if it burns at first, be super careful removing it!!!

Please keep in mind that results vary depending on how you use it, skin type and location.

I like this product. It is a reasonable price and once it dries it stays where I put it. It's important to let it dry! I use a waterproof pencil liner on my upper eyelids and this on the bottom. I have been caught in the rain and gone to the pool with it on. I don't know that it is necessarily better than other brands but it is a decent price and easy/convenient to find.

This stuff is so bad words escape me. I used this years ago, way before Makeup Alley come into my life. I have very oily skin and eyeliners always smear on me. I used to wander the drugstores, searching for ANYTHING long wearing and smudeproof. This said "Colorstay" on it. I took that to mean it did not smear or smudge. I used to use this and I always wondered why I looked like Rocky Raccoon.

Fast forward to today. Now I read Makeup Alley. Now I know what to buy. Now I use that L’Oreal waterproof one with the blue cap. Darn, I always forget the name but I know it when I see it in the stores. That stuff really IS smudge proof and waterproof. One day recently I saw Colorstay in the store and thought I would give it another try, for old times sake...you know...kind of like when you remarry your ex-husband during a boozy Las Vegas weekend. You can't remember exactly WHY you divorced that sexy, good looking rascal in the first place, but you suddenly remember EXACTLY why once you are good and sober.

You have your "AH HA" moment when the skies part and your head is now full of wisdom. . That is exactly what I had with this product.

Now I remember why we got divorced in the first place.

SMEAR CITY PEOPLE!

To be used by oily skinned people only if they enjoy looking like they have not slept in three weeks.

For reference, I used the waterproof version of this product. It still smears and smudges.

I really don't like this eyeliner. I especially despise the applicator. Its short and stubby and stiff and wide which makes it hard to get a thin line and especially worse bc i found it impossible to get the inner corner a thin line so it looked really bad with a thick line in my inner corner. The first time i used this, it really burned my eyes, idk why. The next few times i tried it, it wasn't as irritating.

Fantastic liner. Great applicator. You can use it head on or side-on for different effects - easier than the thin brush liners of some liquid liners. Fantastic staying power.

This is a really nice product. I find it creates a nice dark black line. I don't have to keep going over and over my lids to create what I want. It stays pretty much all day. I don't need to reapply , I definitely recommend this. This is one of the better liquid eyeliners around.

I wanted a liquid liner to do the winged look and I also wanted something waterproof that would last. This stuff does the job. It goes on beautifully and looks amazing after it dries. The applicator makes it easy to apply and allows for precision. I'm very satisfied with this. My only problem is that it is not waterproof or smudgeproof. If you rub it, it will come off and it will run if it gets wet. However, I used this for prom and it stayed on all night even after dancing.

Great liquid liner but I have a love/hate relationship with the felt tip. I like most felt tip applicators, but this one is on the shorter side and a little wider. I find it a bit easier to make mistakes with...and if you make a mistake it is a pain to fix. The stuff stays put and doesn't budge which makes it great for long wear but a downside if you're trying to fix a mistake. I would recommend this product, but, not to people who are new to liquid liner.

RECOMMEND! This is the best drugstore eyeliner you can buy hands down! So im a fan of felt tip i loove this its easy to apply one coat then another closer to my lashes i agree with other comments if you do go over it alot it will erase so if this happens wait let dry and the apply thats the key other wise yea its a mess but deff recommend especially over almay i rate a 5 star based on drugstore brand but compared to macs liquid its 4 stars...

Love this eyeliner! Been using it for my cat eyes lately. I work 9 hour days in the heat outdoors and it doesn't fade, at all! No smudging, no creasing.
The felt tip is great and I have tons of control over the line that I create. I have no trouble making the exact line I want. I had a problem before with liquid liners, particularly Maybelline Great Liner, where it's almost impossible to get the line you want, and when you do, it dries super shiny and then flakes off.
Revlon dries matte and stays exactly as you applied it. Not hard to remove at all.

Great eyeliner for the price. It does not flake and is easy to apply. Best drugstore liquid liner I have tried. It does smudge a little bit but it's not a big deal. The pigment isn't too dark which I like because it looks more natural.

i love how black this eyeliner is and the brush is very sturdy. it lasts all day but is a pain to remove with just washing your face with a cleanser, so i would have to use an eye makeup remover to get rid of it. it also smudges on me so i'm not repurchasing this.i prefer the loreal and maybelline one.

This liquid liner is GREAT! I have it in blackest black and it's seriously one of the best liners I've ever tried. Once you apply it it dries really fast and the staying power is amazing. I don't understand the reviews saying that it fades away quickly. I do my cat eye in the morning, go to school for 8 hours then go to work for another 6 and the liner is still on and the line is just has defined has in morning. The felt tip is pretty thich so if I want to thicken my lash line I use a eyeliner brush, dab some product on it and fill in my upper and lower lash line.
Bottom line, one of the best drugstores liquid liners I've ever tried, highly recommend!

I was using the colorstay liquid eyeliner pen, which is a MUCH better product. The applicator tip on this version is way too thick, and it's impossible for me to get a smooth, straight line, appropriate for daytime without it looking too Elvira.

This liner in Blackest Black used to be my former eyeliner HG for years. It has a really nice formula, is super black, and had fantastic staying power (best to re,ove with oil remover). The only thing that frustated me was that it was hard to get a fine and thin line with this (for those days I wanted very suble definition). The felt tip brush is too thick for that look and performs the best for thicker liner looks imo. Even so, I was content with it's other perks until I found PF eyebooster pen (a product I can do very dramatic and very subtle looks with plus has the pros this product has).
So overall, it's a great product and I loved it for the time I used it but I found something else that suits me better.

although this is only the second liquid liner ive ever had, it was absolutely amazing! the color is perfect, jet black with the tiniest hint of shimmer. i love it and it is smooth, doesnt smudge and the tip is felt so it is very easy to apply and to do a tiny line if you want, may be a tad pricey depending on where you get it but its totes worth it!

I have used liquid liners for as long as a I can remember, mostly drugstore brands as I can't afford anything more expensive. I have heard a lot of good things about this eyeliner, how pigmented it is, its lasting power, etc. The last one I was using was the L'oreal Telescopic Liquid Eyeliner, and while it had excellent staying power, dried very shiney, and tended to flake on me. So I decided to switch over to Revlon Colorstay cuz who knows, maybe it would end my search for the ultimate LE?

Wrong. First off, I'd like to mention, that the staying power is ok. It will generally stay on most of the day if you don't rub your eyes or anything, and will smudge just a tiny bit at the corner of my eyes at the end of the day. The pigment is ok too; came out matte which is what i wanted. However, if you need to go over the line you made a few times, it will erase it. And if you like to make dark lines like i do, this gets annoying because of the constant re-dipping you'll need to do.

The thing I wanted to mention in particular is the BURNING. Thee second i applied the liner, it felt like my eyelid was on fire. Thankfully, it went away after it dried, so I thought it was just a temporary thing. Besides it dried wonderfully matte which i loveeeed. So i didn't think much about it. At the end of the day I took it off with eye makeup remover and went to bed.

The next morning, i woke up. To my horror, my eyelids felt raw and looked red. The thing is, I had tried falsies on a few days prior, and hadn't removed them properly so i thought it had something to do with that. I continued to use the liner, and the rawness and redness never went away. To make things worse, I know have scabs forming on my eyelids, and weird patchy spots, as if my eyelids were peeling off dead skin.

In a nutshell, I had a horrible experience with this liner...eyeliner should never burn, and burn so bad that scabs form! I have never encountered this before and it is freaking the crap out of me. The search continues for the perfect liner....maybe i will try the Physician's Formula one.

One of my friend got this product first and she recommended to me. Then recently I finally bought black one. I was excited to use it. I actually like. This is very nice black and stay longer than other liquid eye liner. I think that is not difficult to use. However, only thing I dislike about this product, felt tip is too hard to me. A little bit hurts, when I write my eyeline.
