actually, i dont do many make-up on my face, but i love to apply mascara. i've tried so many different types and brands mascara, i think more than 30, i can't remember all the mascara i've tried, coz most of them are just okay, but i def. remember this one

facts that i love it:
1. the effect was the BEST i've tried for dramatic lashes. my lash are long but thin, it increases the volume like a dream!
2. it holds the curl good!
3. the pigment is very good, very black and it can cover the base perfectly!
4. it NEVER smear.

facts that i don't like it:
1. it runs out VERY FAST! it's not cheap but i can only use it for at most two weeks, and it drys out all...
2. the base of it is bad! use your own base, not this one!

ps. i don't know why so many people said it makes your lashes look like spider legs, it NEVER happened on me. but this product can ONLY PUT ON ONE COAT, if u put on more than one coat, it surely clump like crazy. however, the effect is really impressed and dramatic enough for one coat already.

The only thing shocking about this mascara is how clumpy and spider webbed your lashes will look. The formula is heavy when it dries and iriitates my eyes and makes my lashes fall out. I got the waterproof kind and its a bitch to get off.

I like to use this mascara before I apply my other mascara (estee lauder- MagnaScopic) to seperate my lashes. I don't find it "amazing" if its on its own. it does separate well, but I also find the wand gets clumpy. it is a great idea, but its best if you use it to seperate, then use your normal mascara afterwards.

There was a buy one get one free sale at Rite Aid for L'Oreal eye make up and I had recently run out of Fiberwig. After watching the beautiful Aishwarya Rai wearing it in the commercials, it seemed like a good investment, though pricey for a drugstore mascara.
I really wanted to like it but it just didn't work out. First off, the packaging is in a big clumsy shape, complete with two wands inserted at the opposite ends of two tubes stuck together. The handles on the wands themselves were short and awkward to hold. One end is the primer, the other end is the darkening coat. I'm not sure if the primer actually did anything for me, more than likely not since I've tried using a different mascara on top of it and saw no difference without it. The real killer is the darkening side. It's not a regular mascara wand, it's like a mini lash comb with two parallel rows of teeth. Sounds like a good idea since I thought, "Great, I can skip brushing clumps out with my lash comb because there's one built in!" But in execution, it worked very poorly. The product was more liquidy than most formulas I've used and the strange comb just picked up too much product. The more I tried to "comb" out the clumps, the clumpier it gets. My lashes stuck together in clumps to the point that when I was done, it looked like I had three giant spikes for eyelashes.
I tried a few times afterwards to make it work but failed each time. Even if you can get the first coat to look somewhat decent, the volume isn't really there, nor does it give much length. Applying a second coat just guarantees clumps. VS also took a very long time to dry, which I guess is attributed to how liquidy it is. It was also impossible for me to apply it to my lower lashes without it getting all over my under eye area because of the strange comb, nevermind the uneven clumps. If you can make this product work for you, kudos, but this mascara should be some sort of Olympic challenge.

All in all, the only thing shocking about it were the clumps. This mascara had no redeeming quality at all. :(

This mascara clumped even after I blotted the wand with tissues! I'm a very impatient woman and this formula takes eternity to dry! The primer was the only reason why I gave this mascara two lippies! WASTE OF Moola!

I don't get what people are saying about clumps. I've purchased since it came out and never once had a clumping problem. I would not use 3 coats of primer. I use one coat of primer and 2 coats of this and it's enough. My lashes are normal, not skimpy, not full & long either. I do find this lengthens more than volumizes so when I want real wow eyes, I use this then a volumizing one like L'Oreal Volumuous over the top. This is my favorite mascara ever and I've tried everything I see, no matter the price. It's my HG mascara!

I am NOT a fan of this mascara. I have long but pale eyelashes, and was looking for a new drugstore option to add volume and a little length for an evening look on the cheap.

I didn't notice any volumizing effect from THREE coats of primer and the mascara itself turned my lashes into a wet, clumpy mono-lash or long, wet strings. Epic fail to L'oreal's R&D department for letting that "comb" wand onto the market.

It took forever to dry and even then, I had to layer some CG LashBlast onto it to get any kind of volume, then comb through the whole business for 15 minutes to get most of the clumps out, but some just wouldn't come out without pain, so I gave up. Meanwhile, a shower of black flakes rained onto my face and into my eyes.

I'm curious whether the formula will improve and work better with that damned comb-wand as it dries out in the tube a bit, BUT I will not be repurchasing since-- if I'm going to use a drugstore mascara-- I can get better results with a few coats of LB and a LOT less work/time.

This is definitely the WORST MASCARA I HAVE EVER USED!! The brush needs to be blotted with a lot of tissue before using it and even then my lashes just stick together. This build no volume or length just leaves me with stringy lashes. I thought maybe it sucked just because it was new and I had to use it a few times before the brush would have the right amount of mascara on it but I was definitely wrong. The only good thing about it is the primer which seems to work a little at building volume but only if I use another mascara on top of it.

builds great volume. i would have kept using this except one factor: it destroyed several pairs of contact lenses. turns out the silicon stains or coats my contacts so once it is on the contacts, all i have is a blurry mess within my line of vision. an expensive mistake as i probably went through 10-12 pairs of contacts before i discovered the mascara was the culprit for my new, blurry vision.

The loreal volume shocking mascara, is better than most MAC mascaras in my opinion. Hand on heart! You can grab this product at drug stores for around 9pounds in the uk. and for about $15 in the US. It comes with both comb and brush applicators, and in waterproof and normal types. It's dual ended, the grey side lifts and volumises lashes, and the black side seperates defines and coats each individual lash in a rich black colour. The only downside to this product, especially if you are using the waterproof mascara, is that it is very difficult to get off! But I say deffinatley worth it to get a gorgeous faulse lash effect. If you're after a natural looking mascarra then i dont suggest you use this, but the define a lash mascarra from maybeline. :).

feels very heavy on the lids, makes my eyelashes droopy after a few hours, gets clumpy no matter how careful you are with application, and the worst thing is, it's almost impossible to remove! a total failure. won't repurchase.

I'll admit it - I was pulled in by the advertising. My skin and eye colouring is quite similar to Aishwariya Rai and when I saw the ad - I thought "hey, she's a brown girl with green eyes and that looks great on her. It's gotta look good on me too!" I was so wrong! I'm not sure if it was the formula or if it was that stupid brush, but I just couldn't get this to build nicely on my lashes. I ended up with clumps and a general mess every time I used it. I tried to salvage it by running a lash comb thru, to separate and remove clumps. Still, this was the WORST mascara I have ever used!

I'm getting the impression that I have strange taste in mascaras. I tend to prefer slightly dried out ones since they layer better... ANYWAY, I have pretty long but thin and pale lashes that curl easily without a curler. I've found that applying one coat of this primer before using my usual mascara improves the performance like crazy. The actual black mascara in this product is terrible and dispenses awful, wet clumps. A little comb? Horrible idea. However, after using the primer, I put on one coat of voluminous or bare naturale or whatever volume inducing formula you please while the primer is still wet and voila, thick and long lashes that I've certainly gotten compliments on. It stays on so well that it doesn't even flake off after sleeping in it (bad habit I know :-) ) I know the primer thing seems gimmicky but it saves me so much application time since I usually apply 2 or 3 coats VERY slowly and carefully. With a little finesse, this is a great product.

I have tried every kind of application of the primer/color of this mascara and the results were tarantula lashes. Yuck!
If you have a good lash comb it helps but this is just is too much work for a do nothing mascara. Save your cash and time and skip this!

Shocking..yes.

This is the single most awful product I have ever bought in my life.
It turned my lashes into two wet clumps.

Disgusting.

I really thought it'd be a great product. It first came out a couple of years ago when the two step process was still a new thing. But I didn't really like the comb on the fiber base, it just didn't comb right. And the mascara itself didn't really do much of a thing.

I really wanted to like this mascara :(. My natural eye lashes are not the best, but not the worst either and they look alright w/ common drugstore mascara, i.e. Maybelline define-a-lash (the green one). I have tried to apply this mascara multiple times, but every time the result is horrible. The primer isn't bad at all; it separates my lashes well and it even curves them a bit. However, the comb is the worst thing ever!!! Even after I wiped it down, it destroys the curve of the lashes (now I have straight 45 degree lashes), clumps them together and flakes everywhere! I have had mascaras w/ a comb before (revlon, clinique) that were doing not so great a job, but this thing is ridiculously bad.
I'm gonna keep it just because I like the primer and I'll just use one of my other mascaras that do a decent job for the second step. However, I'm not buying this thing again!

The best mascara I've ever used. I used to be a Maybelline Great Lash girl for years(couldn't live without that pink/green bottle) and one day when I was at work my boss's eyes looked amazing. I thought she had gotten fake lashes, she said no she used this mascara. I went to Target and was a bit surprised at the $12 price but oh the price we pay for beauty. I was stunned. I had skyscraper length lashes that were thick. They looked absolutley luscious. The downfall of this mascara is the two step process. More often then not, the primer leaves white flakes and it's definitely a long and tedious process but so worth it. Caution:Only use this mascara if you want dramatic lashes. It gives the illusion of fake lashes. I wouldn't dare wear this in the daytime because it's too dramatic of a look.

Until you find out how to use it properly, this is realy horror mascara with horror effects on your face. But once you do, you'll find out that it really gives your lashes a shocking volume. Good lasting power, no clumps, no spider-eyes and easy to take off with any make-up remover. Won't buy again because of animal-testing

I really dislike this mascara. I love mascara and I have tried many. When this came out, I bought the first chance I could and I was disappointed. The primer isn't bad...but the wand that it comes with doesn't distribute it evenly. The mascara...well...it was horrible. It was watery, clumped like crazy and took FOREVER to dry. The applicator had way too much product when it came out. I really wanted to like this...so I kept trying to find ways to apply it...but it always ends up the same. Goopy, doesn't hold a curl, clumpy and gives the worst panda eyes ever.
