I wanted to like this, but I really don't. I liked it for the first few days, but now I notice that it makes my lips dryer. I have the pink one, and it smells very overpowering because of the mint in it. It also is really hard to get out of the tube unless I put it in my pocket and let it warm up.

I have to say the only reason this product even gets a 2 is because I love the Philosophy skincare line, so they get a point just for being Philosophy. However, this lip balm was very disappointing. I had high moisturization hopes for this lovely berry emollient balm, but it seemed to make my lips feel dryer even though there was a layer of grease on it. For some reason, I always seemed to get a layer of dry skin that I just had to rub and pick, which would lead to the inevitable lip bleed. I actually enjoyed the different smell & texture, but it kept making me think that this balm should be doing more. I will be staying away from all the Philosophy lip balms from now on.

I have the red version in the pot. I have gone through about 3 jars of this stuff; it's fantastic! I prefer not to carry pot gloss around because it gets dirty, but I keep this on my nightstand and use it every night before I go to bed. I wake up with perfectly soft lips. The scent is wonderful and the consistency is exactly the way I prefer in a balm; it's glossy and stays put without being ooey gooey. A staple for sure.

Would I buy it again - Yes, I already did. I am blown away by the negative reviews for this product. I have the Red version & I adore everything about it. At age 49, my lips are basically colorless, and this adds the sheerest touch of completely natural pink so it looks like I just have gloss on over my naturally pink lips. It's a subtle change, but just what I wanted & need. Love the fragrance. As for the taste that everyone is squawking about, I don't get it. They put on lip balm & then start licking their lips? I've never noticed any taste whatsoever! NONE! Just a lovely, fresh, citus aroma and beautiful, natural-looking shiny lips. I have this in a jar at home, & in a tube for my purse. Wouldn't be without it.

Worst goup for lips I have ever tried! I don't know what it is but when this thing is on it almost makes it hard to breathe??! It's so thick and oily. And the smell... some sort of strong citrus scent that seems to be there to cover up the underlying smell of... gasoline? Whatever it is. Definately not something that puts me in the mood for kissing...

I just tried this out (about ten minutes ago) -- purchased it on a whim from Sephora. I got the Red color, and although it's beautiful in the tube (deep berry), it's pretty sheer on. And holy crap, can we talk about the taste and the smell?!?!? I'm telling you - motor oil! Someone before me said that was the lanolin, I guess its smell is pretty unpleasant. The taste is equally bad. Very, very gross. Even if the taste was fine, the smell wafted up to my nose and I had to wipe the gloss off. Not ten minutes into my tryout of this lip balm, I'm already filling out the return form. Ick city! $10 at Sephora.

I liked this lip balm, it leaves my lips feeling soft and has helped my chapped lips. I don't think that it is the miracle of all lip balms, but I think its much better then most of the products that I've tried. It leaves my lips glimmering. I've only bought the kiss me red, so I don't know about the other versions out there. But, I will buy this product again.

this is just fab. ive got the pink and clear in the tub and its is JUST fantastic and doing its job.
what i particularly love is that it comes out quite glossy (not that dull matte appearence) and is so damn moisturising. its also VERY long lasting thorughout the day.
love it

Someone said, it's like over-priced Vaseline. I have to agree. With a nice citrus scent to it, I might add. The biggest problem was, it doesn't survive coldish climate. It was 10 degrees (celsius, NOT farenheit), which is mild...but the product seemed to have froze in the tube. It wasn't even freezing temp! No matter how hard I squeezed that tube, the balm wouldn't budge. That really sucks, cuz it's really in the winter that I need to use lip balm, and if it can't even survive spring, what am I supposed to do with it?

I love this lip balm!!It makes my lips soo soft and it feels soo smooth on. It is true that it doesn't have a very nice taste, but that is because of the lanolin in it. iI would deffinately repurchase. The price isn't that bad considering I have spent alot more on lip balms.

I like everything about this lipbalm except one thing,
the taste of it! Yuck! It's supposed to taste like lemon
but this is so bad... I hope the pink one taste better
because this is the only lipgloss I can kiss my man with
and not get that scary gluefeeling...like Juicy Tubes for example...

I have this in pink and it does amazing things for my lips. Tastes amazing, cools my lips, gives them a slight pink healthy color. Leaves them soft, too. I always wear this when I plan on smooching :-)

I have the kiss me red lip balm in a pot that I got in a gift set. The only thing I liked about it was that my lips looked nice after I put it on. The smell of the lip balm was overpowering and annoying. I don't think it was that moisturizing on my lips. I'll stick with chapstick!

Got this in the tube in the pink shade. I'm not crazy about this but I like it alot. The consistency is very thick and takes a bit of sqeezing to get it out of the tube. Upon application it's very shiny like a gloss and also very minty and tingly. The shine lessens after awhile due to it sinking into the lips but that's ok. The $10 price tag is a bit much I think. Will buy again since I'm a fan of the mint in it.

I have the clear balm in a pot. The best thing about it is that is really does sink into my lips and leave them soft, kissable, and moisturized, so it's great to wear at night. I hate the pot so I just slick it on with a lipbrush to avoid getting it under my nails. It has become my nighttime vaseline alternative, and my lips have been in better shape for it, and it really just takes a little bit, which makes the price more tolerable. However, I dislike that it's not as wearable during the day because it likes to slip all over the place. I have to wear lip liner to keep it in place, like the Cargo reverse liner or a clear lip pencil, outside the lip line, so my lips can actually get some conditioning benefit, and that's really more steps than I want to take just to wear a little lip balm, plus it's not portable because I don't want to carry the pot and a lip brush. I've also discovered through experimentation that it makes a good base for matte lipsticks. Because it sinks in and moisturizes, it keeps my lips comfortable without diluting the color of my lipstick, unlike my old standby vaseline. I do wish this didn't stink; you'd think with all their wonderful fragrances and bath products the folks at philosophy wouldn't want to put out a smelly lip product! It has an oily, industrial kind of smell, like it would be good as a machine lubricant.

I bought this in the shade Pink, and for the most part, I am happy with it. This is more like a balmy lipgloss rather than a lip balm. Unlike many high quality (does not necessarily mean high-priced) lip balms, this has no long-term effects on your lips. Sure, your lips will feel great and look great while having this on, but after you've wiped it off, it'd be like you've never had anything on your lips before. Now, if you wear Chapstick or another lip balm from The Body Shop, for example, there will be a long-term effect on your lips; your lips will remain soft and supple for a very long time, even after you've wiped the balm off.

With that aside, let me move on to the pros and cons.

Pros:

+ Has high-quality peppermint oil, which provides a great scent. This is hard-core peppermint, people! Your lips will enjoy the frosty, cold, tingly and delicious effect from the peppermint.

+ Other lipglosses will go on more smoothly with this as a base.

+ This gives you very, very juicy lips.

Cons:

- Your lips will only feel soft while tihs is on.

- This is basically overpriced vaseline.

- There are no long-term positive effects on your lips, unlike Chapstic and The Body Shop's lip balms, which condition and soften your lips.

- Your lips will only feel soft while this is on. With Chapstick, for example, you can wear it and then skip it for 2 days, and your lips would still be fine.

The Verdict: Would I buy this again? Yes. Despite the $10 price tag, this has the best peppermint oil and scent ever. I also enjoy having this on as well, and it also makes my other lipglosses look prettier when I wear them on top of this.

Ick.
Waxy, gooey, smelly, awful. Pretty colors, though.

I have been a recent convert to the Philosophy line (after finally stopping Arbonne b/c it wasn't working for me and I'm even a consultant!) I wasn't getting results from Arbonne's lip balm and decided to try this one. I got the Pink tube and I LOOOOOOVVVVEEEE it. It's soooo creamy, smooth, smells fresh and minty, and the packaging is great (it doesn't all goop out). I know it's got petroleum and as an Arbonne girl I'm suppose to dispise that, but I can't argue with results. My lips have never been so great (even using Kiels) and the first time I put it on and kissed my fiance he said "wow your lips are soft". I've found my HG lip balm. :)

This is possibly the worst lip balm I've ever used. I wouldn't even call it a lip balm. IT'S WAX.

This is such a disappointment! For $10, you would expect for it to do a great job. All it did were dry my lips and made it flaky to the point that my lips stang and bled. I would give it a 'zero' if I can. I used it for only 3 days and threw it away! I went back to Rosebud Salve and my lips were smooth again!
