This eyeliner lasts all day and does not smudge. I do outdoor theater and I've worn this in the rain as well as 90 degree weather outside, singing and dancing and it stays on.
I love love love this product. Best eyeliner EVER. I haven't tried smoking it out as a shadow, but can't wait to try that look.

I bought this eyeliner when it first debuted. It flaked and irritated my eyes- so much so I had to take my contacts out during the day. The black pigment came out dark grey, and it dried out after one month even though the lid was on tight. This has not happened to the other gel eyeliners I've purchased.
Did they update their formula?

Glad I didnt pay full price for this as I purchased it on ebay. This is awful, gives me panda eyes before mid day, it smudges on to my lower lid!! Still have alot of it as little goes along way. As I have so much of it left, I top it up with my Mac Liquidlast to prevent it from smudging!! Mac liquidlast is definitely much better, staying power is awesome, quite a challenge to remove this.

Hi, I bought this eyeliner because it was on a promotion sold with two more colors, grey and brown-golden. I really loved its staying power during the daytime and during extreme hot weather (it does not smudge from the lower waterline if used with an eyeshadow primer it doesn't smudge from the upper lid too). The color resulted is a matte black which I really liked (it doesn't look plastic-y like liquid eyeliners, so its less tacky).
BUT I only gave it 3 because it does dry off pretty quickly (probably this is the price for its staying power) and after 10 months, if you haven't finished it, it gets really dry and hard to apply. Not impossible to apply it just doesn't go as smooth as it used to be. And considering its price if bought alone (one pot) you'd want it to last longer. Also if you want a really smudgy look you can no longer do that after it becomes dry-er. The brown shade is still moist and easy to apply, but the dark grey and the black one are too dry, I do need a new eyeliner now.
Would I recommend this to anyone? Sure, anyone with trouble applying the typical liquid eyeliner (like I am) would love finally starting to experiment the eyeliner look using this product, except if they are short on money and they do depend on this product to last them until they finish it.
I would probably buy this product again, but I am not sure, because it is cheaper than other good gel eyeliners but it's not an ideal product for me, I mostly like smudgy-er softer eye looks so I don't use it everyday and it became un-usable now.

I use this pretty much everyday for my eyeliner. It applies really smooth and I love the small glitters in it. The only thing I will complain about this product is that it doesn't last all day for me, and it is really expensive. But overall, this is a good gel eyeliner, and I will probably buy it again when I run out.

I might be the only person that hates this product. It doesn't stay on at all when I put it on my bottom lid. If I even take a quick nap for 10 minutes, it's all over my face. I have a huge pot left so now I just use it as eyeshadow for when I go out at night but it's not that smudgeable for eyeshadow. I usually have to mix it with some creamy shadow for it to apply correctly. Other than that, as a gel eyeliner, I think it sucks. I found that to use it as eyeliner, I have to put a line of it on top of a line of liquid liner, which to me just seems like a waste of time to have to apply eyeliner twice ha.

EDIT: I ended up using a lot of this product once I got the hang of it. I realized that there really isnt an eyeliner that lasts all day without smudging. I just know i can't nap with this stuff on! Also, this ended up drying up in a few months which is annoying too.
Anyways, I think I am going to try MAC fluidline next.

I am a gel eyeliner addict. I'm extremely picky when it comes to eyeliner in general. But, this smudge pot goes on smooth and stays on all day. And for those who think eyeliner is just too harsh, the smudge pot is, well, smudgeable! After applying the eyeliner, go back with a smudger or Q-tip and blend it a bit and you're good to go!
Love this product!

I like this more than Bobbi brown's gel eyeliner. the color is a bit more intense and the formula is a bit more budge/ smudge proof. I prefer this liner to fluidline or gel liner from BB.

I got this in a little combo pack from Costco. I was looking for mascara that wasn't tested on animals, and I just happened to remember that Stila was one company that didn't. Since the mascara came with eyeshadow, and a smudge pot, I figured, why not?

I love this about as much as I loved MACs fluidline smudge pots. It goes on nicely, doesn't transfer to other parts of your lid (nothing worse than having your eyeliner show up where you didn't apply it), and isn't a pain in the ass to take off.

Edit (July 27th):
I don't know if it's because it's about a month old now, but I've noticed that it drys super quickly when I'm applying it. Because of this, I'm getting uneven application and coverage. I still like it because it's more water proof than fluidline, but I wish the application was smoother and didn't dry so fast. Knocked it down to a 4 from a 5 due to this.

First, the product is very pigmented and one dip on a brush goes a long way. I bought this product a long time ago and I liked how it was easy to apply and looked very black but it strated to flake on me and smudge. The pot started getting dry and I could not use it anymore. The product actually shrunk and became clay like. Not creamy anymore so I stopped using it. I think I might have left the cap open for a long time and it dried it out. Otherwise, no go for me on this one.

I like the ease of application and staying power. It isn't too black, which is good for me, as I'm getting old and a super black-black would look too harsh.

I've read a lot of comments about it drying up. Yes, it's designed to dry quickly on your eyelid, so it dries up in the jar. Since it's waterproof, I solved this problem by pouring water in the jar and closing up the lid. I don't carry it in my purse, since it lasts on my eyes all day, so spilling isn't an issue.

I've used Stila's smudge pots for years, I really like it because it looks better than pencil liners and is easier to apply than liquid liners. You can also smudge it out as a base for your vibrant shadows. The only down side is that when I want a more intense look, I still have to use a liquid liner over it because it's not the darkest black out there.

This goes on pretty dark and looks nice. But then it starts to flake off. If I try to build it up, then it will definitely flake on me. It also seems that whatever doesn't flake on me also ends up smudging and I somehow get a raccoon eyes look even after setting the liner. I'm pretty disappointed in this product and will not be repurchasing.

great at first but then after like i want to say 4 months or 6 months it started to dry up so my advice is if you want to buy it go for it but be warned that if you dont finish it within like 6 months it will dry up so thats never good.

I will start with the fact that I'm always sampling everything eye related because just about everything smudges on me. I liked this eyeliner. It goes on smooth, has a great and true black color, stays creamy in the jar for a long time and a little bit of product goes a long way so its a sound financial buy. It still smudged under my eyes over the course of a 10 hour make-up day (my usual). I don't wear any eye make-up on my lower lashes because of the smudge factor but when a product smudges from my upper eyelid to my lower eyelid it is a NO BUY for me. So, if you don't have that problem, I recommend you try this, I will stick to my L'Oreal lineur intense felt tip in black. It NEVER smudges on me, washes off w/my usual make-up remover routine (DHC Cleansing Oil and Obaji-CRX gel facewash) and is easy to obtain since its a drug store brand.

This is a great product, I am a liquid eyeliner convert and the better I get at applying this product the more I love it. The color is very intense, a little too much for my everyday look - but great when I need to kick it up a notch. It stays put very well too - I am bad about occasionally rubbing my eyelid, this product does not come off on my finger or smude once dry.

I'm kind of on the fence with this product, I was in love with it when I first got it, its very very black, and it gave me exactly what I was looking for when applying it with the Sonia Kashuk angled eye liner brush. I was using it everyday, but it is now starting to flake when I apply it, and it is now very dry. (I securely close the cap everyday). So would I buy it again? probably...because I loved how it worked when I first got it, maybe I need to buy a smaller pot if Stila makes it in a smaller container? I just wish it didn't dry out so quickly.

I really like this product because this product can work for two different purposes: eyelining and using it as a base for your eyeshadow.
However, it is a great product used as a base rather than an eyeliner because of the formula. It has very silky texture and that allows a better surface for your eyeshadow to be applied. I would definitely recommend this Stila product if you are looking forward to purchase a good-lasting eyeliner or even a phenomenal base.

This product is very flaky when I apply. I have the brush that is designed to be used to apply, and it is still difficult and leaves flakes. It does have good staying power though and will not fade all day unlike most eyeliners.
