This is my signature scent. I love perfume and love wearing different scents, I always come back to this. While a lot of perfumes seem totally different from their names (I'm looking at you, Very Sexy), Sensuous is aptly named. It's a warm, slightly spicy, my-skin-but-better scent that's truly sexy instead of desperately trying to be. I'm currently twenty one years old, and this scent really suits me, but I have let my mother borrow this and it works for her as well. I really think this is the kind of scent a lot of women (and maybe some men) can wear, and my boyfriend always loves when I wear Sensuous.

As for practical things, the bottle is lovely and easy to pack (I've brought my 3.4oz bottle overseas without trouble), and while it's a bit expensive, you can find significantly cheaper bottles on ebay quite easily.

I was shocked to read some of the bad reviews on here about this fragrance, because i love it! the smell is a little bit sweet but with amber notes in it too. It's a really comforting smell and unique too. The price is expensive but it's a nice, classy perfume so it's worth it. The bottle is circular with a lid with the EL logo on it. It's simple but really pretty. I will be buying this again when i run out:)

Estee Lauder fragrances usually smell like an old lady's closet. This one is really the breakout perfume. It seems to have aromatherapy properties -- it reminds me of being in the spa room. One spray goes a long way -- more than two is overkill and could knock over a horse.

This is definitely not my type of fragrance as I find it too one-dimensional (too much sandalwood) and sweet (although, not foody sweet). But I can appreciate it for being original and distinctive and sometimes in the cold weather, I reach for my sample. I would urge people to give it a try, as it has a certain personality, rather good sillage and staying power. But, it is not full-bottle worthy for me.

It is really funny how I “meet” this perfume. I was last year with an old friend in a shop and he was looking for a new scent. I was bored and so I began to try some new perfumes myself. When I sprayed Sensuous it smelled exactly like a traditional German Christmas cake called Lebkuchen (honey, cinnamon, orange peel, almond, cardamom, ginger, nutmeg, chocolate and some more spices) and I suddenly craved to eat one, and, because it was just before Christmas and I was in Germany, I run out of the shop, next door into a bakery and bought a fresh baked Lebkuchen and ate it with full pleasure. I thought it was very funny that a perfume could have such effects. But beside this, I didn’t want to smell like a cake and I always disliked sweet “foody” scents anyway, so I didn’t consider buying it. At the very same night, while sitting in a movie I detected now and then a beautiful smell reminding me of Dior Dolce Vita. Surprisingly it came from me. Then I remembered that I had sprayed the Lebkuchen scent on my wrist and was surprised how beautiful it had developed since my cake attack. It wasn’t foody anymore but warm, spicy and sensual. So I started to reconsider buying it, also because it was winter, it was very cold, it was before Christmas and this scent fitted the mood perfectly. I have worn it until March and then, as soon as the weather began to turn sunnier and warmer, I couldn’t wear it anymore. So now I’m waiting to wear it for the next Christmas time, especially because, now that I not longer live in Germany, I will miss my Lebkuchen a lot.

This perfume really confused me, Lol. I smelt it a fair few times in the shop and i was really impressed. So i purchased the 100ml bottle gift set with body lotion and an extra 10ml handbag bottle(So as you can imagine, that was not cheap lol). I got it home and now i really don't like it, it is really heavy when it's first sprayed and i find it makes me feel sick. When it dries it's a little better, but i'm still not sure. It smelt totally different in the shop (and it is definitely the exact same perfume)

Mix the sweet scent of an ice cream shop/ doughnut shop with the smell of a campfire, throw in lots of pepper and a little sandalwood and you get this. I love it. I'm not a perfume girl either. And I've hemmed and hawed for two years on whether to buy this, finally bought it today. It's perfect for fall.

I adore this fragrance and waited patiently until it was finally launched in Europe well over a year after it became available in the States. It is a bit peppery, a bit ambery, a bit sweet and a bit masculine all at the same time, but never in an overbearing or overpowering way. Alas, this simply does not last well on my skin at all. If you, like me, want a fragrance to last for several hours with noticeable sillage, I strongly suggest testing this more than once before you purchase.

Update January 2013: still wearing and greatly enjoying this. It still wears quite sheer, but I now find that that is key to its pleasantness. Would repurchase.

Love this! I received it as a Christmas gift from my husband (He loves it on me!) and have enjoyed wearing it nearly every day since then. It is warm and spicy but still manages to stay light and feminine. Intriguing but not overpowering. Appropriate for day or evening in my opinion. It is more reminiscent of fall and winter, but I find that it's not too heavy for summer months. Lasting power is great.

The notes are:
ghost lily accord, magnolia and jasmine petals; a heart of molten woods and amber, and a drydown of sandalwood, black pepper, juicy mandarin pulp and honey.

Yum! Unique and lovely. This one will be a re-buy whenever I finally get to the bottom of that big bottle!

I am LOL'ing @ "marijuana addict" but I think I know the 'campfire' note the previous reviewer is referring to. I think it's a combination of the black pepper and sandalwood that produces that effect. In any case, YUM! I've been loving sandalwood in fragrances lately and this is delicious. It actually reminds me of those Sandalwood & Vanilla candles/room sprays/Wallflowers from Bath & Body Works. I mean it's almost exactly the same scent! Not that I mind, I love those too! It's just too bad that for whatever reason, my skin just eats this perfume and it lasts exactly 3 seconds on my skin. Maybe I just need to layer it with the lotion from now on. Oh and I think the bottle is adorable - love the little ridges on the back.

The first top notes are very sexy and nice but watch out!
It immediately morphs into a stinky campfire/incense stench.
I had sprayed my arm with this in the store and had this sickening
stink like I had just come from a marijuana party while I tried to eat lunch.
It was horrible. Ever smelled a marijuana addict's clothes? As soon as he enters the room you smell the sweet-rancid smoke. If you love the smell of smoke and incense, and some people do, you will like this.

I love this fragrance, too often when new fragrances come out they smell like a mish-mash of other perfumes, this one has a special scent that does not remind me of anything else. On me initially I smell a honey scent, then it dries down to a lovely musky scent with a hint of vanilla and spice. Delicious! It really is a sensuous smell but I love that it has a clean feel to it.

As one reviewer said below, this is a great winter fragrance. It smells really clean and classy. The only thing I would say against this is that I'm only 18 and I think this fragrance is maybe a little too 'old' for me. By no means is it an old woman's perfume (if such thing exists), but I can imagine it on a someone in their mid-twenties perhaps.

This is a lovely scent that brings to mind books, cashmere and a roaring fire. It is very smooth, very deep, and lingers all day through to the evening; I detect honey, amber, woods, and some sort of flower I can't put my finger on.

I don't usually categorize my fragrances by season - I prefer to do so by mood - but this is most definitely a winter scent for me, as I prefer smelling it under the soft fold of a thick cowlneck sweater. Perhaps the only complaint I have is the bottle, which isn't anything very exciting, nor is it very attractive. It looks like the base of a cheap, plastic, dollar store lamp.

But the scent, which is all that matters, is beautiful. Very sensuous, indeed.

There are all different perfumes in this world...some are older smelling, some bring out the young in us and some well stand all by themselves...and I must say this one is a class act! Wow! One of my coworkers had it on and it was a warm day and it was generating a sweet, sophisticated scent...so pretty. Well I had to run out and buy it! And boy and am I glad. It goes on strong...but then dries to a woods/cashmere/spice...so sexy and classy. During the day I lightly put it on and it says...but when I go out for a formal occasion I layer it with the matching shower creme, lotion and body powder. And believe the compliments just keep on rolling. I classify this one as my seductive, sophisticated lady scent! ;-)

I've been on a quest lately to find a new perfume. My fav's have been Venezia (discontinued), D&G The One (boring), Light Blue (too citrusy), Bvlgari Green Tea (doesn't last and not my fav), and some Bath and Body EDT's which I know will not trigger headaches which happen often for me with fragrances.

I tried several and after returning Flowerbomb and Narcisco Rodriguez for her, sighed and decided to *settle* on the EL counter since my hopes of finding a new, exciting fragrance have come up empty. EL is usually easy on the headaches for me for some reason.

I am glad I did! Sensuous is right up my woodsy, spicy alley. I bought the gift package with the EDP, lotion, and travel EDP a couple days ago. It reminds me of another fragrance..Breathe Romance by Bath and Body but with more sophistication. Since I have worn that in the past, this immediately felt 'right' for me. I think it would be nice layered with a vanilla scented lotion for some sweetness, on me it is not sweet at all, more woodsy. I don't like all the new teeny-bopper super sweet scents so I am really liking this one, it is sophisticated, sexy and comforting.

LOVE IT, LOVE IT, LOVE IT...

I have so many to choose from and lately, I keep coming back to this one... It's especially warm, lingering, intoxicating, sexy and of course, sensuous. Perfectly named & captured. I like the "wavy" bottle, too.
My (and someone else's) current favorite.

Thank you, Estee ~ my favorite EL so far

I'm a Chanel girl. Been wearing Chanel for about 15 years now. This was the FIRST perfume ouside of the Chanel line that I have fallen in love with. It's become my every day perfume. I wish it wasn't so expensive though cause I'm already on my 4th bottle!

amber, woodsy, floral sweet... yes, it is all of that, but what sold me was a sort of citrus-y smell, perhaps ive gone crazy? as a college student, heavy perfumes dont make sense for me, but i find this one light, breezy, subtle, and very nice for me.
