My skin is simultaneously very very dry but also prone to breakouts. So I basically need an oil-free foundation that won't dry out my skin. I've been using this off and on for a couple years, mainly because of the salicylic it contains which is supposed to clear up acne. Alas, this product hasn't worked well for me. I don't know why I continued purhcasing it and wearing, I guess I wanted to like it so much and I really wanted it to work. It dries out my skin and doesn't do a thing to clear my acne. Won't be buying it again :(

I thought this may help with my somewhat acne prone skin which requires foundation daily. But, after using this, my skin never looked worse. I am just too sensitive for it. My skin had horribly dry patches along with areas of bad breakouts. Certainly not made for my skin.

I wanted to try something new and thought this would help me get rid of my acne. I was wrong. This did nothing but caused me break-out badly on my cheeks. I was returning to college from winter break and I was extremely embarassed. Definitely not a self-esteem booster.

Well I've been using this for literally years now...I have strayed and tried out different products but always come back to this one as it is the only foundation that doesn't make me break out.
I get compliments when I wear this sometimes. It has decent coverage if you don't have bad acne. Really all I have trouble with is red splotches and it covers them nicely and evens my skin tone out really well. It doesn't really cover dark undereye circles though. The Softest Gold color is perfect me, and it's not too pink bc it is yellow based.
The only problems I have with this would be the smell..it smells terrible. The bottle isn't easy to get the foundation out of. And also, this comes off badly. It will get on clothes and wipes off easily and by the end of the day my face is oily and it's come off a bit.
But the good things make up for the bad things, so I continue to use this. Really, any Neutrogena product is the only things I can use on my face..whether it be makeup or skin-care products.

I have this in Natural Buff and have been using it for several years. I think the gals who gave it bad reviews may have had their expectations all wrong. It isn't some dramatic breakthrough skin-clearing foundation, the only difference is that it has salicylic acid in it to help dry out blemishes and pimples. I think it's also probably oil-free. It's very silky and easy to blend while providing great coverage. I used a foundation by Cover Girl before I switched to this one, but after I switched I noticed how great the texture was and how nice it felt on my face. The only downside I can think of for this foundation is that due to the salicylic acid in it, using it every day can occasionally overdry my skin.

Ewwww...This foundation is worthless! I had this 2 years ago in 7th grade...And looking back i can't believe i wore it. It DOES NOT clear my skin of acne, because i had occastional breakouts, and the coverage is super cakey and heavy. Gross.

I agree with many of the posters...this doesn't cover much. I have it in Soft Gold and it's a great color on my skin but it has light coverage. Not quite sure if it is clearing my acne, but I'm not breaking out so that's a good sign! I may buy again in the future.

Ladies, beware!! This foundation doesn't cover anything up and it doesn't control shine at all. I have very oily acne prone skin with a ton of pimples and acne scars and i thought this foundation would do the trick and clear them up while hiding my horrible flaws..However, it did nothing for me but make my skin look like a big caked up mess that got shiny within one hour. I'll never be repurchasing this thing of shat...to the garbage she goes!

Definitely didn't clear my skin, but that's what the prescriptions from the dermo are for. This is a decent foundation, nothing to get excited about. I'd use it again, but wouldn't go out of my way to get it.

I have this in Soft Gold. The colour is nice, but it seems to slide off my face halfway through the day. I didn't notice any more breakouts than usual from wearing this, but I expected it to make my skin better, like the Avon brand did. Not really worth a trip across the border for me.

This is the best foundation I've found to date. It goes on easy with a sheer finish. But you can layer it for a more matte look. It also has a pleasantly subtle fragrance to it. I noticed an immediate and dramatic effect on my skin. After the first day of wear, any blemishes I had were all but gone. It doesn't burn or dry out my skin, and the color match was perfect for me(Buff Blush $11).

I got this in a trial size and it came in three colors... i tried the true beige one... and i thought it was lovely. I blended into my skin perfectly and it was so soft and silky. The coverage is not so great... and besides to have the salicylic acid to REALLY work on your acne... i think you'd have to really cake it on... but given the tiny amount that i used... i think that it is not causing anymore breakouts but i'm not too sure amount clearing exisiting ones... but all in all... awesome foundation!

When I had terrible acne and used all drugstore products this was a splurge for me, $10, Wow, I thought. 3 years later, which much clearer skin, I use high-end makeup and still go back to this foundation. $10 is cheap for me now. But it helped clear up my skin and drys to a beautiful matte finish. I've bought this 3 times and I will continue to buy it, I just wish it had a better color match for me.

This is a very good foundation. Its the only one that i've tried that doesnt make my skin feel suffocated or breakout. It does sometimes dry out my skin though. But if you moisturize before then its fine. I like how there's a perfect color for my skin as well.

I don't wear foundation much but when I do I wear this. It doesn't suffocate my face and even "prevents" break-outs. So, far this is the only foundation that I will ever wear.

this was the first foundation i ever tried. i dunt think it does too much for the skin clearing aspect but it blends into my skin so well! wen i used it with neutrogena combination skin moisture it was enoguh to just mix some an dmake ur own tinted moisturizer. but ever sinc ei swicthed to kiehl's moisturizer i need to put some loose powder on as well to eliminate shine.

This the best foundation I have found for my rosacea skin with acne. It was recommended by my dermotologist and she uses it also. I have been using this product for 6 months now and my skin cleared up almost immediately. It is oil-free, has salicylic acid (for acne) and is hypoallergenic - won't clog pores. You only need a small amount to cover your face and the coverage is great - it evens out your skin tone nicely. It goes on easily with a light touch and feels smooth and silky. I use the Natural Buff which works for most light to medium skin tones. I love this product and since it is inexpensive also, I am sticking with it!

i love it! its natural looking, it doesn't clog pores, and it has salicilic acid in it that helps fight and prevent blemishes. i've been using it for a year.
