In Australia (and the UK) this is marketed as Derma Genesis Concentrated Serum. It is packaged in a different container too - it is an airless pump which looks a lot like US L'Oreal's Skin Genesis Eye Serum. The ingredients for Derma Genesis Concentrated Serum and this Skin Genesis Multi-level Cell Strengthening Serum Concentrate are identical.

I have been using this for a couple of weeks now. I was looking for a hyaluronic acid serum to use with my Tanda light therapy device. Tanda recommend using one before applying the light over your skin. My skin was feeling somewhat dry after a few weeks of treatment, so I decided to try this L'Oreal one - it was cheaper than others that I had seen. Hyaluronic acid is apparently quite an expensive ingredient but even so I don't think there is enough of it in this serum to justify L'Oreal's price tag. I paid AUD$32 and I think that's quite pricey for L'Oreal.

My thoughts? I quite like it but I don't think I would recommend it for skin that is dry or very sensitive. It contains alcohol denat as its 3rd ingredient, which is quite a drying alcohol. But it must be said that alcohol is a very good skin delivery system for other ingredients. My skin is combination and not overly sensitive or dry, so it has been happy with this serum. For me it is doing the job. It sinks in super quickly, allowing me to use my Tanda immediately afterwards. It seems to be providing just enough hydration - my skin no longer has that tight itchy feeling that I was previously getting after my Tanda treatment. Fragrance has been kept to a minimum and it is pleasant to use. I really love the airless pump pack. How I wish all skincare was so elegantly packaged! Having said all this, I just don't know if I will repurchase. I will definitely use up this product but I want to see how my skin is during cold weather - I have a feeling this serum won't give me quite enough hydration... We shall see! For now, it gets 4 lippies from me. Overall I'm happy with it.

I started using this product about 2-3 months ago, and I must say for me it has been very good. I have dry, mature skin so I always apply a moisturizer after putting the serum on. It says that right on the bottle.

Since using this product my skin seems very smooth and hydrated. I wish it would get rid of a few brown spots, but I guess that's another product to purchase! I

I think it's kind of expensive for a drugstore brand, but I would purchase it again.

I am having a hard time getting the last bit of product out of the bottle. It's too tall, so I have to dig it out which is a pain.

I really like this product. As with other posters, I don't think this is a good product for acne prone skin. I have oily but not acne prone skin and have no problems with it. And it helps with my wrinkles. It's also a must have if you are using any of the lotions from this line as it makes the lotions less sticky and more spreadable. The whole line makes my face dewy and the my wrinkles plump without adding to the overall oiliness of my face.

I had been dying to try this serum since I had such good results with the night treatment. Unfortunately this product didn't impress me at all. It was extremely thin and runny, very sticky and balled up a little on my skin even if I wasn't wearing any other product. I noticed no difference whatsoever when I used this, except for the minor cosmetic "tightening" effect once this had dried on my skin. As a rule I try new products alone for a week or two to see what results I can attribute to it. I used no makeup over it, no lotion or sunscreen over (or under) it and all that happened to my skin was a horrendous area of breakouts on my chin. I noticed no other differences in my skin. Overall, a disappointing product that I won't be purchasing again.

Okay, I HAVE to start this review with a small rant...Why are drugstore products getting so darn expensive??? I paid $19.99 for 1.7 ounces of this. To me, that is department store price, but without the luxury of a gift with purchase. Ok, rant over.

I found this product by using the L'Oreal website. It asks questions about your age, gender, skin condition, problems, etc. This was one of the products recommended for my skin. This is a clear, lightweight serum that glides on smoothly and absorbs quickly.I apply it after the Pore Minimizing Skin Re-smoother. Afterwards, I apply moisturizer. My skin hasn't broken out, had allergic reactions, or develop clogged pores while I have been using this. I think my skin is starting to look nicer- more plump and hydrated...dare I say- more youthful. I will finish my bottle and determine then if the results are worth the high price tag. I probably will repurchase.

If you have "older skin" like I do, try the Skin Genesis threesome: the Eye Serum, Skin Serum and Daily Moisturizer. I pat on the eye serum, apply the skin serum (which to me feels nice and thin, and spreads easily). Then I wait just a minute and apply the moisturizer. It does have a slight, pleasant tightening effect, though not overbearing. I find it's an excellent base for a very light application of makeup, perfect for summer.

The cost is reasonable. I've used department store brands for years, but phased out to experiment with other brands and found the Skin Genesis line very effective. As others have mentioned, the pump applicator bottles work very well and give you a measured amount of product. Click the top to the left or right to open or lock. Great design.

Unfortunately....this stuff caused me to break out like crazy!! Also, I found this is just like applying a thicker form of water on my skin...which didn't make it feel too great. Initially i thought about continuing to use this, thinking, it must be purging out all the impurities. Nope...my skin just seemed to develop little bumps with continuous use.... too bad.

I tried almost everything from Derma Genesis line and this is the only product I really really liked so far. First of all, I like the packaging. I twist the pump on one side and it shuts off so no air goes into the bottle and the product won't get dry up, especially in the opening. Second, this serum really works. It's quite watery at first but as soon as I apply it sinks in really fast. This allows me to apply my moisturizer right away so I don't waste much time, especially in the mornings when I'm in a hurry before going out for work. Also, it doesn't ball up when I put my moisturizer on it like some similar products do.The most amazing part is that this serum brightens my face like no other product. I use this both day and night. And when I wake up in the morning, I'm always pleasantly surprised at how fresh I look in the mirror. It evens up my complexion that well. I feel the lifting effect immediately when I put it on. For the price I think this is a fantastic product! I also think the smell is nice too. I already used up a whole bottle and I'm definitely repurchasing.

Has a light and very pleasant floral scent. The tube is as big as the moisturizer and a small amount goes a long way, so you get a lot for your money.

I was rather dissapointed with this product! I got this in conjunction with the Skin Gensis daily moisturizer with SPF 15. While it applies nice and smoothly, I didn't feel any tightening of any sort. It also gave my face a weird sheen. It has to be the serum as I tried a day of only the moisturizer and no serum, and I didn't see the sheen. Shame. I think I will be trying the Yes to carrots 40 carrots carrot and c vitamin serum instead.

I use the entire skin genesis line & i will not be repurchasing any of them EXCEPT this one. I love it. It doesnt sting my skin at all & i can instantly feel the "tightening" sensation, in a good way. I find the other products in this line are just too greasy. This one isnt. It dries really quickly and the best part about it, i have squint lines from not wearing my contacts lie i am upposed to between my eyes & this has taken then away almost completely!! Been using for a month 1/2.

I've been using this for about two years and I love it. I have mature, sensitive skin that clogs easily and this makes all the difference in the world, without irritation or clogging. Just soft, dewy moisture. It plumps out my fine lines and wrinkles. I have repurchased this about 5 times for myself and I buy it for my 3 beautiful daughters who love it also!

When I first applied this, it felt like I was putting alcohol gel on my face. I immediately looked at the ingredient list and Alcohol Denat is listed as the 3rd ingredient, but it feels and smells like pure alcohol is the 1st ingredient. There was a burning sensation when I applied this. When I breathed through my nose, the warm air from my nose made the area under it burn even more. WTF! When I used Step 1 and Step 2 (Daily Moisturizer with SPF 15 Lotion) together, I noticed that the products had flaked on my skin in my nose, chin and forehead areas. I can not speak on the long term affects because I will not use it again.

I have been using the whole L'Oreal skin genesis line and I'm really loving it! My skin is so smooth and my pores are getting smaller!! The tone is more even and it just looks really healthy...I have extremely sensitive skin and this doesnt irritate my skin at all, it actually tones down the redness I have in my cheeks. I'm very happy with this product and will definitely buy again as long as it continues to work.

It smooths my skin upon application, but I'm not really sure if it's necessary to use a serum and moisturizer. It's a bit runny, and on the sticky side so it take some time to really absorb in. I doubt I will buy this again, just seems like a waste/gimmick. I like the airless pump, and the cute bottles I can set on my vanity.

I've been using this product for over a month now, and so far I like the results. It does not irritate my rosacea, and it seems to moisturize pretty well. Usually in winter I need to switch to a cream instead of a lotion moisturizer, but with this underneath I can still use my regular lotion. The serum is really light and sinks right in, only if I use one pump. It does feel sticky if you use too much. I'm using this as a preventative measure and have very few wrinkles, so I cannot comment on any anti-aging claims of this product. I would consider repurchasing after I run out, since it does not irritate my skin.

I bought this serum two weeks ago and I'm so happy with the results, I went out and bought a second bottle just to be sure I don't miss a day of it when my current bottle runs out, lol. In two weeks I have noticed my skin looking brighter and my pores looking smaller. My skin is smoother as well. I have four dark marks on my face where I was biten by an insect and this serum is fading those as well. I also bought the eye serum when I bought the face serum and using the two of them together has really helped with the lines around my eyes. The two deeper frown lines in between my eyebrows have become less obvious as well. They're becoming more shallow and shorter. I use a moisturizer with sunscreen over it (not L'Oreal) and just powder my face after it all absorbs. I don't feel the need to wear foundation unless it is a special occasion. I'm happy that my skin is to that point now. It was on sale locally for $11 and I had a $2 coupon so I feel that I got a major bargin. But since it does work and work well, it is still a deal at the regular price.

I bought the serum with the lotion and the eye cream, and I had a terrible breakout. I gave it 3 weeks but I continued to break-out so I think it is to greasy for my combination acne prone skin.

i bought this b/c a friend of mine was raving about it and highly recommended it, but i just can't say that it is working that well for me right now. to tell the truth, i'm not 100% sure what this product is supposed to do! :) ive been using this product for about two weeks now, morning and night. it smells good, has a nice smooth gel consistency and dries quickly. however i do not notice any sort of burning or stinging upon application, and i kind of wish that i did! at least that would be a clue that this product is doing something. my face does feel smoother, but i havent noticed any reductions in uneven skin tone or pore size, or wrinkles ( i only have a couple lines beneath my eyes, but they haven't changed). I am going to use the rest of the bottle up, but unless I see more of a noticeable change in my skin, other than smoothness, i won't be repurchasing.
EDIT: i got restless and gave this up for neutrogena's healthy skin anti wrinkle cream. i think i traded up. i like it much better than this product.
