Meh. This was okay. I tried this one before all the other Acne Stress stuff because I thought, hey, I've never owned a foaming wash before. The novelty was nice at first, but it gets old fast, especially when this wash dried me out as much as it did. I did not experience any irritation that I can speak of though, it was just the dryness. That, and it did not help my acne in any way. I hate to waste product, so I just used up the rest of it and we went our separate ways.

I think this is the exact same product as what came w/ my daughter skinID system. (high end Neutrogena products- different name & bottle, but seems to be exactly the same) I ended up using hers and was trying to decide if I wanted to plunk down $45 more for another skinID set. My skin was sooo clear last summer when I used it so I really thought I needed it. :) I was looking at Neutrogena face washes at Wal-mart and discovered the scent of this one was exactly the same as the skinID one. Bought it and it's doing the same great job that the skinID one did, at half the price! (if figured per bottle, the skinID was about $16) This cleanser only has .5% salicylic acid so it may not be effective in fighting gnarly acne but it will clean your face. It feels good and smells sooo good so even though I'm a product junkie who likes to try it all, this one will be the one I come back to. :) If I can get excited about a face wash, anybody can!

Honestly this is the best acne product i have ever used. i have really never had acne but when i get pimple i freak and i wanted to find something that would help make them go away faster than clean and clear and would leave my skin nice and clean. it works for me and i totally love how it smells and makes my skin feel.

This product was just okay. It dried out my skin and left a thin oily sheen after I rinsed it off, but it does take off makeup and cleanses pretty well. It didn't make me break out, but it didn't do anything toward clearing my skin up either. Overall, this product is all right, but I would recommend it to anyone.

I like it, but there are better cleansers if you have oily AND sensitive skin.

When my skin recently broke out, I thought I'd give this a go; I've been pretty happy with other Neutrogena acne products. Everything seemed fine at first. I liked the fragrance and the consistency, and my skin felt clean. The second day, my skin felt kind of rough.... The third day, we were in full allergy territory; red, scaly skin, even puffed up eyes. Of course, I can't say it was this product for sure that caused this, but I wasn't really using anything else... I would never touch another face skincare product by Neutrogena after this. Three days later, and I'm still trying to get my red, raw, peeling skin under control.

I have the "Neutrogena Oil-Removing Foam Cleanser;" not sure if its the same thing or not as this product but I LOVE IT! It leaves my face feeling so clean, I actually look forward to using it at start and end of my day.
It doesn't really help with oil though...but curbs my acne pretty damn well!
UDPADE: This is not helping with my acne at all...Why is skincare so HARD! It works well for my sister though (mind you she has flawless skin)

I got this product because of the Allure award. I usually prefer foaming cleanser which is why I also wanted to try this one out. It cleans well. Washes away oil and dirt. I wash my face twice if I have make-up on to completely remove them. I hated the wierd smell of this wash. Worst of all, half way through the bottle, my pump broke! Which is worst for a self-foaming pump. I think I'll just stick with the oil-free acne wash instead.

This product is okay. It extremely dried my face, even with using a trusted moisturizer. I can't really complain, because I think I bought it on sale for about three dollars, but it did dry my face, and I actually have oily skin naturally, not dry!

Of course, acne products work differently from person to person depending on the cause of their acne. Proactiv and Clinique, although they may work terrifically for certain people, do not work for me and personally, I do not want to spend a lot of money on products that don't work.
First, let me tell you about my skin: I have a very even skin tone. That is my favorite thing about my skin. It is pale in the winter (MAC NW20, if you care) but tans fairly easily in the summer. It is normal--- soft, smooth, glowing. But my huge problem is the acne patches on my face. My acne is not severe, but it is not mild either. I get acne patches between my eyebrows, on my chin, and mild patches on each cheek. I also occasionally but rarely get some acne around my nose- but usually I just have some blackheads on the sides of my nose. I hate my acne- it ruins skin that would look decent without it and doesn't allow me to leave my house without layers of opaque foundation or at least heavy duty concealer. And even when I am wearing layers of makeup, which I hate doing because I am in my early teens, I still don't feel confident with the bumps underneath that distract people from my actual face.
After observation and studying my skin desperately and hopelessly, I discovered that the cause of my acne is stress. When I am stressed, I break out. When I'm relaxed, I have good skin (my skin looks good in the summer, when I'm happiest and not stressed at all). After trying EVERY product on my skin, from strong systems designed for severe acne to mild, light foams, I was suprised to learn that my skin likes acne washes that aren't too strong, despite my amount of acne.
anyway, I'll stop rambling to actually review this product. I used it all through this summer. At the beginning of summer, I used Neutrogena Pink Grapefruit Oil-Free Acne Wash in the mornings and this at night. I discovered that my opinion of the grapefruit stuff is that it is okay but not amazing. But my skin did look goooood, which I discovered was because of the Acne Stress Control Power Foam. I started using the Acne Stress Control Power Foam in the mornings with a gentle, relaxing nightly cleanser at night. And my skin looked the best it ever has.... flawless, clear, glowing--- without ANY makeup on.
Even though it was the summer and therefore I had less stress in m life, I have reason to believe that this product DEFINITELY helped immensely- in fact, I think it's the best cleanser I've ever used.
As soon as I ran out of this, I made the huge mistake of trying something new. I have never gone back to it since then because I didn't realize how well it worked. I started getting more and more and more breakouts.
I realized that this cleanser was so good this morning. I have a photo wall right next to my bed with photos of me and friends. When I woke up, I saw a photo of me with a friend and noticed that my skin was completely flawless and I was wearing zero makeup. After trying to remember what products I used at the time, I remembered this miracle face wash. The next time I'm at the store, I'll have to pick another up.
If you think your acne could be caused from stress, DEFINIITELY give this face wash a try as it will most likely work exceptionally well for you. If you do not know the primary cause of your acne, there is a huge chance it could be stress, as stress is one of the #1 acne-causers. Good luck, I hope you find your dream skin with this cleanser!!!! I did!

Works great with my Clarisonic. Pump stops working when you get towards the bottom...actually, half way through. A minor issue in a great facewash. Still love it.

I have been using this for six months. I use it every evening and everyday that I do not scrub my face with the stress control scrub. I like the foam but the pump became stuck about three months ago and it is really annoying to use now. For that reason, I took off lippies. Other than that, it is a good acne treatment and my sensitive skin tolerates it too! The price isnt bad either and can be found on sale.

I love this product, but I can only use it sparingly as it has sulfates in it & I am very sensitive to them.
Using a small amount once a day and rinsing my face very well has helped to keep my skin clear.

I used this product some time ago and wasn't wowed by it. I didn't notice more breakouts than usual but it didn't reduce them either. Since I wasn't using any other acne product at the time (no moisturizer or toner either) I can be sure that it's not effective for me. I liked the foaming because it was novel to me, but like some other reviewers said, it doesn't feel like a deep clean.

I have used this off an on since it came out. This works really well but beware the first three weeks your face will break out worse than ever then after those few weeks it will clear up. I have extremely sensitive skin and this didn't irritate it, just made it kinda dry which can be fixed with lotion. The one thing I didn't like was towards the end of the bottle it seems to stop working but if you buy a new bottle and dump the old into the new it works again. Its like the product settles, I dunno its kinda weird.
Anways I would get this and remember as with all acne products give them at least 4 weeks to see if they work and it will ALWAYS get worse before it gets better (as said by my Dermatologist).

This cleanser wasn't bad I've used worse Neutrogena acne cleanser *cough deep clean cream cleanser* This was a light, pleasantly scented, and foamed very well. The feeling afterward was nice and clean. I think the .5% salicylic acid is too weak though. I would have been much happier if it had 2% salicylic acid.

In my experience drugstore products with salicyclic acid in them are ineffective. This cleanser proves my point. I started using this one summer when my skin was becoming oilier because of the heat/humidity. It did cut down on my facial oil (initially) but my skin became more and more dry. Eventually my skin started producing more oil to compensate for the drynesss. I only used it once a day b/c I use cetaphil and retin-a at night. Also, .5% salicyclic acid is terribley weak so I don't see how this could decrease acne.

With 0.5% salicylic acid, this is one of the milder exfoliating cleansers, which is perfect for my sensitive, yet acne-prone skin. I like the super foaminess of it, the cucumber fragrance and the ease of rinsing off. I even use it in the shower on the parts of my body that are pimple-prone and it seems to help.
