I don't have dandruff, but found a bottle of the Classic Clean shampoo in my bathroom closet. I guess I bought it a while ago, don't remember but anyway, it is a GREAT shampoo! It leaves my hair smelling fresh and makes it very soft and smooth. I find it keeps my hair cleaner longer. I also use less conditioner because my hair is smooth and manageable after I rinse. This shampoo has a permanent place in my shower.

Didn't like this at all. I bought it to shift a bit of dandruff (I think it may have been a reaction to a conditioner) but rather than improving it, it really seemed to dry my scalp out and make it worse.
I didn't notice any conditioning benefits with it, though my hair did seem to get greasy again much faster after using this one compared to the menthol one. All in all I really wish I hadn't bothered.
One lippy because my hair was shiny when it dried.

My review is for the 2-in-1. I think they changed the formula within the last year because I LOVED the original formula. I just bought a new bottle the beginning of the year and it's horrible. It leaves a film on your hair. Throughout the day, my hair felt tangled, oily... just nasty.

This is an ok shampoo but overuse will actually not do anything for minimising dandruff in my experience. I would use it alternately with my other normal shampoo and conditioner and over time my dandruff just wasn't really going away. I ended up eliminating the other shampoo and trying this on it's own but still had the same problems. Eventually I changed my whole system and now I have pretty much no dandruff. I used to be able to use this fine years ago but maybe aging just changes the condition of your scalp and it's just stopped being effective for me. Pretty basic, possibly a bit drying.

First of all, I do not have dandruff. A friend suggested this shampoo to me, telling me it helped make her hair healthier and overall better. She doesn't have dandruff either, so I figured why not. After using it for a while, my scalp seemed itchy, and it did nothing for my hair. If anything, it made it more dry. Also, I wasn't crazy about the smell. I wouldn't suggest this to anybody unless they have pretty bad dandruff/

This product is really good for hair with the occassional split end/dandruff. I am amazed about how my hair was so soft!!! But when dandruff was gone,my hair started being dandruffy.. :( I like the volumising one a little better!

I have issues with dandruff in really hot humid months and this shampoo is great at getting rid of it. I only use it occasionally if I notice white flakes (which is really noticeable on dark hair).
I do have another use for it which I don't think most people know about. I use this shampoo to actually clean under my arms and it helps immensely. It's kind of embarrassing but for the longest time I was having issues finding deodorant/antiperspirant that worked well. I would have to apply it 3 times a day and I felt I still smelled bad so I would shower excessively as well. I think the active ingredient (zinc 1%) really helps with BO. Now I only have to apply a small amount of antiperspirant and I never smell. Some days I skip the antiperspirant and I can barely smell anything. *TMI ALERT* I use a small amount to wash "down there" as well then moisturize the area with a few drops of olive oil and believe me, it never smells. Zinc is an anti-fungal too.
I wish I had discovered this secret as a teenager because I was very active and nothing I did seemed to help except applying a ton of deodorant. The walmart store brand seems to work just as well and of course is cheaper.

Well, this shampoo did absolutely nothing to help my dandruff. I am so disappointed, because it smells AMAZING and my hair looked great after washing with this and styling. I used this for a few weeks to help with my increasing flakes issue, and it continually got worse. I am not sure if it worsened b/c of the shampoo or just because my scalp was out of whack. But it definitely did not do what it was supposed to - get rid of dandruff! In my case, not at all.

i love this shampoo! I have light dandruff, and after using this i noticed it all went away! Plus, it helped soo much with my oily roots, and now i can actually wash my hair every other day! The only downside to this shampoo is that it can be a little drying, but with conditioner and product, my hair has never looked so good!

This shampoo contains sodium lauryl sulfate, a known irritant which has been linked to hair loss. NOT GOOD. To be fair, when I used this shampoo, my dandruff was doing ok and my hair was fine. But I got big sores like pimples all over my scalp. This is especially bad in a shampoo made specifically for people with scalp problems. Please do yourself a favor and buy a shampoo without this ingredient, like Selsun Blue or Neutrogena T-Gel.

When I first started using this, I noticed it cleared my mild dandruff pretty well...to the extent I thought it had all gone away. Then I began experimenting with other shampoos with better claims! Well, ultimately, within a month, I could see worse dandruff popping up on my dry flaky scalp! ugh! So i went running back to H&S and as expected, it cleared it up,...but only to an extent. Even with regular use, I never ever saw myself dandruff-free after 2 days of not washing my hair. Flakes pop up from somewhere somehow. I finally changed over to brands that work better for me....but if i ever got a case of severe dandruff, I'm pretty sure I would give this another try.

Boy oh boy, this product and me have one hell of story.
I shoulda listened to Grandpa, "when you use something you don't need, you end up needing it". Lol In this case he was pin-point right.
HOW WE MET:
Well at the time I had used up all my shampoo and conditioner. So what was left in our 2 bedroom 1 bathroom home was my step dads 2 in 1 Head and Shoulders Classic. I used it two days in a row, wasn't paying much attention to my hair I wasn't actually not even into my hair at the time, in other words my hair wasn't very important to me.
HOW I FELL IN LOVE:
Third fourth dayish, either or, is when I noticed my hair. Now remember, I paid little to no attention to my hair so for this product to actually make me notice my hair at the time was something amazing. Once blow dried, my hair that was once dried out, frizzy, dull went to literally (no over exaggeration) silky, super shiny (in that healthy way not oily way), and soft.
Holy mother of god. I kept telling my step dad how freaking great his shampoo and conditioner was. He thought it was funny how amazed and happy I was.
HOW WE ENDED AND I FELL OUT OF LOVE:
I had used this I think about a good 4-5 months I wanna say, till I was over it. I didn't have dry, itchy, dandruff challenged scalp when I started using this at all but that's what I ended up with. I still even now suffer from the occasional dandruff once every 3 months or so and I blame it on this. However once I stopped using it, my scalp slowly but surely was recovering and going back to being normal. My hair was no longer itchy or flaking off when I didn't wash it every day, like it was when I used this product. This beauty comes with a terrible price, that i'm not willing to pay.

I purchased the Classic Clean 2:1 shampoo plus conditioner.
PROS: 1. Calms dry itchy scalp. 2. Helps reduce dandruff.
CONS: 1. Hair resembled hay (dry and crispy). 2. Doesn't condition that well.
Overall, this inexpensive dandruff shampoo does deliver good results for it's main purpose (reducing dandurff). However, I don't like how it makes my hair feel. Plus, I purchased the large economy size and the cap is cheap and doesn't snap shut. I don't think I'll repurcase.

I don't have dandruff, just an itchy scalp. This works for the itching, but leaves my hair dry and causes fallout.

EDIT: This stopped working for me and I think it was causing build up. I now use The Body Shop Ginger Shampoo which keeps the seb derm under control and makes my hair less greasy.
I have sebhorreic dermatitis, which is seemingly impossible to get rid of, but this shampoo does a fair job of keeping it under control (or at least not making it worse!). It smells nice, lathers well and rinses easily but more importantly, it leaves my hair clean but soft enough that I don't need conditioner, which is ideal for me as I have short, fine hair and conditioner often weighs it down. I've tried others in the range - the citrus one for oily hair (didn't work and made my hair dry) and the soothing scalp one (made my roots greasy...) but this one is the best. The packaging is nothing fancy but that hardly matters - it's cheap and for an everyday shampoo it's great.

I use this shampoo everyday and no I do not have dandruff. You do not have to have dandruff to use this shampoo. I just find that my hair is cleaner after using this shampoo. Also the smell is great and I have color treated hair and it isn't harsh on my color. I buy one bottle and my husband and I share and it last about a month between the two of use so it's a great value to have a shampoo we can both use and enjoy.

Absolutely horrid. This did nothing to get rid of my dandruff, if anything it just made it worse. It was extremely drying to my hair and made it feel like straw. Selsun blue (green cap, moisturizing formula) is SOOOOO much better!

This has sodium lauryl sulfate in it so it strips hair color and really dries out your hair and scalp. Also, the new scent (not sure when they changed it but it's been a few years now) is awful - a fake watermelon smell. I like to use dandruff shampoo not just to keep the flakies and itchies at bay but also because I read that it's good to use it about once a week to reduce inflammation on the scalp which can contribute to hair loss over time. After trying different brands, my favorite is Garnier Fructis dandruff shampoo for dry scalp (it's fantastic) and KMS dandruff shampoo (great but pricey).
