Super nice aroma but I find it a bit too sticky if used alone and prior to get dress, but for the use at night is excellent.

I just recently got hooked on the Weleda Rosemary hair oil. I went to Target to stock up on some, but they were all sold out. there was one bottle left of the Birch Cellulite Oil. I figured, oil is oil and it was on sale, so I bought it. THANK GOODNESS I DID!!!! Not only are there more good for your skin oils in this, but there is a lot more product. I use this on everything! My thighs, my face, my scalp, everything! I really love the lemony woodsy scent of this oil. I really like face oils, but to me they always smell so..... oily. This has a zingy energizing smell that does not linger unlike the others.
Now, to the cellulite, I haven't used this long enough, but I have great results so far. The backs of my legs look smoother and more taut. Getting rid of cellulite is nearly impossible without exercise and diet, but the trick is to exfoliate in the shower and really massage the backs of your legs. Dry off, then rub in the oil deeply to keep stimulating your trouble spots. Afterwards, apply a self tanner. Obviously the self tanner visually covers up the lumps, but the oil helps the color go on even making your legs look absolutely smooth and flawless.
To the face! I figured, since this oil is evening and toning my thighs, why not my face?? So far, so good! This has toned my face more than any of the expensive creams that I have ever bought. I also didn't find any of the oils to be irritating to my sensitive skin. I pour a little oil in my palm and then first massage into my eye areas, then move up to my forehead, down to my cheeks, jawline, and neck. Perhaps the actual massaging of my face is helping the circulation in my face and giving it a nice glow. I follow with Borba eye cream and every other night I'll put on a retinol cream. So far I haven't had any break-outs and it's summer. However, if I notice my face getting dull, I put on the Borba gel serum with salicylic acid. It's a great gentle exfoliator. Hope some of these tips help! Good luck with the cellulite. If I had to choose one beauty product this would be it because it is so multi-tasking. Also, it's hard to come by because it's always sold out. I wish it was cheaper, since I use so much!

Overall I really like this oil. Lately I’ve been preferring oils instead of creams or lotions to moisturize, and this is one of the best I’ve tried.
I have noticed a change in my cellulite but I can’t be sure that it’s attributable to this oil or the fact that I’ve been doing more weight training exercises. But even if it doesn’t work on cellulite it’s a fabulous moisturizer. I use it all over my body and my skin has become noticeably smoother and softer.
The one downside for me is the scent – it’s kinda weird, like a lemony –lime smell and its pretty sharp at first and I just don’t enjoy it. But it does wear off pretty quickly so I don’t mind terribly. Also it is kinda pricey, but it’s a quality product so I think it’s worth it.

To start, my cellulite is pretty minimal-- but there's enough that when the light hits my legs the wrong way, I notice every single lump. I bought this at the beginning of last summer and ended up using it the entire season. It definitely made the unevenness less noticible, and on top of that, it deeply moisturized my skin. Like someone else said, all those little dry skin bumps I'd get on my thighs and around my knees are totally gone. I use it now on my entire body, just because it is so moisturizing. For an oil, I feel as though it really penetrates my skin. Other body oils I've tried just seem to sit on top. I really love the smell too-- it's a bit woodsy, sort of a mix between pine/balsam and lime.

I do think part of the effectiveness of this product IS the dry-brushing. I'm not a big dry-brusher (I don't have the patience to do it as thoroughly as they say), but before putting this stuff on, I give my legs and butt a good rub down and then vigorously massage the oil in.

The only downside is the price, which I noticed climbed from $16 to $21 in the last year. I try to stock up online when I see a good price, and I only use this in the summer and if I go on vacation. It's cheaper in Europe too.

Disclaimer: I don't have very pronounced cellulite, but I do have some that is noticeable when I'm in unflattering positions or on fat days (who doesn't though, and to which deity would I have to sell my soul to be the exception?). However, I know that if I don't do some preventive care on this area of my body, it will become irreversibly dimpled and I will have to wear sarongs over my Levi's for the rest of my natural life. Yoga and a tolerably healthy diet were two of my weapons in the fight against cottage cheesiness; this oil is the third.
Real talk: I'm not going to be able to stop all cellulite from ever settling in my thighs and ass, especially if I sacrifice my body for the joy of having drooling babies of my own - but while you got it, flaunt it, and this oil has improved my skin tone, clarity, smoothness, and texture to the point that I feel comfortable showing my legs, whereas I NEVER did before, even when I was slimmer. The jury's still out on whether the deeper dimpling that can be seen when I am in compromising positions will go away or will simply be in a state of maintenance, but I'm so happy with what I have for now, considering the fact that cellulite is a fact of life, that I'll definitely keep using this product and maybe try massaging it in more vigorously to see if it does even more wonderful things than I thought. Hell, spending so much time working on and looking at my legs has at least shown me that they're sexier and better looking than I thought, and that's a plus, right?
The lemony smell is deliciously invigorating when I use it after a morning shower, and if you just use a moderate amount, rub it in thoroughly, and let it air dry before you put your chonies on, its scent will dissipate and it won't get all over your garb. Love it and will continue to be Weleda's whore.

I've gone through 1 bottle and a half and my cellulite looks the same. I am a thin woman with moderate cellulite. I also exercise and do my best at eating right. This stuff smoothes your skin but thats all I've noticed. No firming either. It takes a very long time to absorb and is oily and rubs off on my clothes. I hate that it comes in a heavy glass bottle that I can't take to the gym with me. Very dissapointed :(

Let me just say that this is BY FAR THE BEST TOPICAL CELLULITE TREATMENT. No you won't get velashape or velasmooth results, but this is an amazingly amazingly cellulite reducing product. I've pretty much tried every lotion out there, but nothing has done the trick. Birch Cellulite oil works.

USE ONLY WHEN YOU GET OUT OF THE SHOWER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I can't stress this enough. If you want real results, you must use it when you get out of the shower on damp skin - this will help the oil get absorbed super super fast, thus maximizing its effectiveness. You will see a more toned, cellulite free appearance in less than a week of use, believe me. But I tried this before in the mornings and night as they directed, but it didn't have the same results as using it during after showers only.

Please try this.. it's absolutely amazing. Will definitely buy. Combined with exercise, my cellulite, which was quite intense, is now fading away to a smoother, newer toned appearance. yay!

EDIT: I don't know what happened, but the effect seemed to wear off in time. It's not because of me either -- I actually started exercising more and eating even healthier. Hmm, well I found an even better product -- Nivea Goodbye Cellulite 10 Day Serum! Now that works!

I'm a slim gal with a little cellulite around the bum, so I've tried a few cellulite creams (Nivea Goodbye Cellulite, Murad, L'Oreal), and compared with the others, this oil is divine. First of all, I love putting it on, and it doesn't leave a sticky, gross residue like the others do. It smells wonderful (slightly citrus, very natural, smell fades within minutes), unlike the others. If you're going to rub something into your body twice a day, shouldn't it be a pleasant experience and leave you feeling pampered? For the smell and consistency alone I give it five lippies. I used to hate putting gel on my body, but I love this stuff, and so I know I will use it twice daily; in any cellulite treatment, the massage is what really works the most above any ingredient (for drainage), so I think this will work the best--since I love it so much, I'll massage longer with it (the packaging recommends five minutes) and ALWAYS twice a day. Since I just bought it yesterday, I will have to update my review in a few weeks. For 20 bucks, though (compare 70 bucks Murad or similar price Clarins), I think I've found my favorite treatment. I also love the fact that it does not contain caffenine, unlike many other treatments (L'Oreal, FatGirlSlim), so it won't keep me up or have bad side effects like addiction. My skin looks better after putting it on, unlike many other treatments which use ingredients like cayenne pepper and have a reddening effect, which works, but doesn't help when you'd like to wear a swimsuit or look better without clothes! I am sensitive to smell and the smell wasn't too strong for me, but if you're worried, try a bit on your hand before you buy.

Update:
I bought the oil in January and now it's September--my cellulite now is barely visible, but Welleda does not make a miracle oil: I eat well and exercise, and the action of massaging the oil in twice daily makes all the difference. I recommend using only a little and really rubbing it in, twice a day for a few minutes. As with anything, if you use too much it won't absorb and then will come off on your clothes. Yes, it does work, and I still recommend this oil for the budget-conscious.

Proof that an inexpensive all-natural product can be as effective and even more than luxury products.
I use this every morning and I enjoy its invigorating smell.
I have purchased and repurchased several times.
A little gem.

Love it! Love the smell, very natural and unique. Moisturizes very well. But most importantly reduces appearance of cellulite dimples! You actually feel a warming effect on your skin right away. What a great product!
Just make sure you massage your skin for at least 1 minute after applying the oil to help reduce cellulite effectively.

Conventional wisdom tells us that topical products don't reduce cellulite, right? Well, I'm here to tell you that this stuff DOES work to leave the skin on your thighs and butt smoothed and toned with regular use.

Now, I can't say that if your thighs look like a container of cottage cheese that this product will cure all, but if you are in the market for something to provide reasonable results, this is it.

In addition to being effective, it's very pleasureable to use. I should mention that I do NOT follow the instructions to use it 2x per day.... I can't see applying a topical except when I'm just out of the shower. If I do take 2 showers, then yes, I use it twice, but more often than not, I use it once per day when my skin is still a little damp (i.e. right after a light towel dry). It sinks right in, is invigorating, and makes my skin look immediately sleek (although I suppose any body oil would do that much temporarily). With continued use, there's no question that the skin on my thighs and butt is smoother and more toned AND I achieve it without some yucky, sticky stuff. 5 very enthusiastic lippies !!! I just wish it wasn't in a glass bottle. Eeek.

I am not even going to comment on the cellulite reducing capabilities of this bc I just started using and besides, I think we all know by now nothing really works (as far as creams or lotions). I do love this stuff, however! And if it helps cellulite, well, that'll be nice, too. I LOVE the smell and the texture. It really does give the "appearance" of firmer skin tone just because of the slight oily sheen it leaves. It sinks in nicely, though and the smell does not linger too long - just in case you don't love the smell like I do -
I am still on the fence about the glass bottle. I kind of like the "old timey apothecary" feel of glass, however, I won't love it if I drop it!
This stuff is not really cheap at 20.00 a bottle and it's not a big bottle, either. Maybe 4 - 6 oz. if I recall. Anyway, I do love this stuff and probably will repurchase. It made my skin feel wonderful.

I love the fact that this product is all natural. It has a very interesting fragrance too which is distinctive, but takes getting used to. I had used this for a month religiously to see what it would do.

Made absolutely no difference whatsoever. Nada.

So now I don't know whether to give it another chance or swap it away. Until I decide, it will sit in my bathroom cabinet...

This is a pretty thick oil, I guess because it is just supposed to be used for specific areas and not as an all over moisturiser. It does seem to smooth and firm the skin, but I can't testify to it's cellulite reducing powers. I love the scent, it's quite citrusy and refreshing, but I didn't love this oil enough to repurchase. I love the rose oil and lotion from this range, and both of these products also smooth and improve the texture of the skin really well.

I love this stuff. Super moisturizing. Use it twice a day on damp skin (thighs and rear) and it does tighten and smooth the areas nicely. I'm no where near cellulite city without it, mind you, but i do have a little bit of dimpling here and there that i want gone - this really evens out the texture of my skin, makes me feel good about my summer thighs, for sure. Nice and smooth! No other product has done this for me. I love that it's all natural and the essential oil is amazing for the skin -super oily consistency and takes a little while to soak in, but it's worth it.

Wow this really works!! I do not have cellulite yet, I just wanted something to give my skin more tone and this does it!! I was previously using True Blue Spa Bring Up The Rear and that did not do anything at all! Not even tone or firm! I was also using Nivea Anti Cellulite although that product did the job but I was not at all a fan of the smell!! So I decided to go with Weleda. After two days you can already see the difference! I thought this oil was going to feel really greasy on my skin but it dried after 2 mins!! I love it! As for the smell like a previous reviewer have said it smells like lemon Pledge house cleaner! But if you don't mind the smell, the product works really well overall.

I have been using anticellulite products for the past 16-18 years, I am from Europe and they come up each year with best and improved ones....I have to say that this oil is by far the best anticellulite I have use. My skin changed texture almost immediatelly, after 2-3 uses.

The packaging is not the greatest and I would have prefered a plastic bottle instead of glass. The price is inexpensive considering what other brands are charging AND the quality of the product.

I will be buying this product again!

Didn't really expect too much as far as cellulite, but was at least hoping it would be a good moisturizer. Unfortunately, it tends to make my skin itch. Something in it is irritating for me.

I got this because they did not have the Sea buckthorn oil at Walgreens. It is nice and moisturizing and it has an interesting smell. Not bad really, my hubby said I smell nice when I put it on but really it smells like lemon pledge. It doesn't bother me but I could see how other people would not like it. I don't know if it helps with cellulite or not I have less but I have also lost weight lately so I think it is because I weigh less. It comes in a glass cobalt blue bottle, I am not excited about the glass bottle in the bathroom, not completely safe. I find it a little expensive for the amount, it was like 19.00. I said I would not buy it again mostly because of the price and I want to try the Sea buckthorn.Over all a nice oil though.

Weleda Cellulite Birch Oil is wonderful! I don't know yet if it works on cellulite...(I kind of doubt it), but it is doing WONDERS for my dry skin out here in the desert! No lotion or cream has made such a difference in five years. I use a little bit all over and it soaks in and keeps my skin nice and soft all day. I'm SO happy!! It's a little pricey at Walgreens ($17) but it's worth it. And I've tried EVERYTHING, believe me. I've even put a tiny bit on my face! And I love the smell... some may not, but I do. I'm keeping my fingers crossed about the effect on cellulite, but the improvement in skin softness was immediate!
