Very promising in the opening - fresh & sweet orange juice....yet as the fragrance dries down, it starts to smell alternately like room deodorizer & men's cologne...sharp and aquatic. I'm actually getting a headache!

I hate smelling like the peel of an orange when I have finished eating one, yet I like this one and it smells just like that but with a dollop of sweetness and a subtle softness that makes it wearable. Fresh, wearable, light, simple, citrusy delight. Nice but even so, not bottle worthy.

This starts out with exquisite crisp-aromatic citrus---as others have said, like the spray of oil from a freshly peeled orange. Uplifting and marvelous. But after fifteen minutes it all goes terribly wrong on me. I strongly suspect that there is hedione in here (the synthetic jasmine scent that gives sparkle to Eau Sauvage and Creed Spring Flower). Hedione sticks to the insides of my nose & makes the whole world smell like cheap after-shave.

im usually hesitant to write fragrance reviews because mine seem so pedestrian in comparison to the reviews of those who have already said it better. my fragrance tastes confuse me. for example, i strongly dislike patchouli, but the right patchouli is heaven to me. i never know whether ill enjoy a specific note until i actually try it in its blend.

my tastes have become a bit more sophisticated and diverse over the years, but like most young women, i started out wearing mainly citrus scents. my first fragrance "discovery" was a mini bottle of annick goutal eau d'hadrian cast off from my aunt when i was in middle school. i still very much enjoy citrus.

to me, this scent starts off as light and sparkling, very similar to l'occitane green tea, but with a large dash of bright, sweet orange. the orange fades quickly and leaves the green tea. the green tea fades and leaves me with a straight up herbal essences scent. im stuck with this herbal essences smell through the middle notes and into the drydown. while the fragrance is very pleasant, i dont much enjoy it because of this. i dont think scents turn strange with my chemistry, and im surprised that no one else got the same results. because of this, i have to give it a three for disappointment and unoriginality, and a "no" to purchasing it/trying it again. in short, its nice but i dont like it.

I got this perfume pretty much half off at a BG Gift Card event years ago. I guess that was what made me feel less guilty about using it as a linen spray! Originally I wore it as a perfume, but it didn't last very long--too citrusy--so I just took to spraying it on my sheets. Of course I ran out of it pretty quick, but it made for some sweet dreams anyway.

I received a sample of the Arancia soft relaxing cream & that is all it took to get me hooked. I love this fragrance. Normally I stay away from Citrus fragrances because they can give me a headache. On the contrary, this has a very soft fragrance & it lasts. I have now splurged & bought the Dry Oil, Shower Gel, & the perfume. This will be a favorite along with Trish #9 Blackberry & Vanilla.

Wonderful. Test drove this one today, and on me it's a true bitter orange scent (everyone says it's sweet, but not so on me) drying down to a divine soft, citrus musk. There's a warmness to the citrus that I find unique, and it evokes the honey-ness of blood oranges. Non powdery drydown, long lasting. Oooh I want so badly to buy this, if only I had the budget! Would probably buy the balm and dry oil spray first, and work my way up though! Like one reviewer suggested, I would prefer this for the winter.

Ahhh, Arancia, also known as pure orange bliss. One of the juiciest, freshest, refreshingest (am I just making up words now?) and all around nicest oranges I've ever come across. Not sharp or biting like some. Really fantastic for summer; refreshing and light but long lasting. I have the matching dry oil spray and lip gloss and they really are quite heavenly.

This and Mandorlo di Sicilia are truly the winners from the Blu Mediterraneo collection.

EDIT 5/20/05 -- I don't know...after repeated wearings, I find I just don't love Arancia as much as I thought. It has a funny *greeneess* to the base that is sort of funky and disturbing. Also, it sometimes smells kind of like that zesty-orange type of scent that I hate. The orange that has risen to the top of my book now is TDC Divine Bergamote. True Orange Bliss.

This is a dream come true for me in the orange fragrance department. I'm in complete agreement with the glowing reviews, and I will be adding the dry oil spray next if all goes according to plan. Very uplifting in a calming way, if that makes sense.

I gave this 5 lippies for its being the best in its category of solifruital (made that up.) It really is quite a wonderful explosion of tender oranginess ('tender' as opposed to heavily acidic or drippingly sweet.) From first burst to last, Arancia delights and soothes. Conventional wisdom tells us not to apply citrus scents before sleeping, because they have a revving-up tendency. Not Arancia--apply it any time you want and be transported to some sunny place where the oranges are grown in small, ancient groves, with a view of the sea. The gorgeous blue bottle with its band of complementary orange at the neck is practically reason enough to buy this scent! aedes. com.

This is THE orange scent to own! MY ABSOLUTE FAVORITE! I love scents that contain orange/mandarin notes, but this scent IS ORANGE! It smells just like the fresh fruit! Manon summed it up perfectly. One of my staple scents!

I LOVE this scent! This wonderful lady who wrote the review below sent it to me, and I cannot get over how refreshing and wonderful it is. At first spray, you are enveloped with the scent of sliced juicy sweet clementines. Then it dries down to a crisp, refreshing orange. Fantastic for the spring and summer, or for gloomy winter days. Layer this with Jo Malone orange blossom, and you'll be floating in heaven.

Smells like the perfume version of San Pellegrino's Aranciata beverage, which works for me since I drink an obscene amount of the stuff. In my opinion, nothing much beats a sparkling orange drink or matching fragrance for a warm spring or summer day.

Okay, my Aedes sample pack came in and some generous soul drew little drawings on all of the labels on my stuff. Score! This had a little wave drawn between Acqua di Parma and Arancia. And it smelled like it, too: a lively, fresh citrus with a wink and a nod. I wanted to wade around in it and grab tantalus-ish oranges from the tree, but true to form, those branches bend back and I'm left realizing that I want a $95.00 of perfume. Sigh.

While I don't like this fragrance, I'm trying to be kind since reactions will be a matter of preference. In this bottle, this smells like juicy orange, but once applied other notes emerge. It smells much like Clinique's Happy or some citrus essential oils that I've smelled. Overly citrus sweet with a note that is like cheap cologne. I have friends who love these kinds of scents, but I don't.

Wow! The lovely, generous manon sent a sample of this to me, and I was so excited when tried it! I have never smelled such an authentic citrus note! I felt like I had just bitten into a madarin orange, or was in the middle of peeling it, and a burst of juice had sprayed into the air! Sweet, fresh, and made me hungry! LOL! I was quite delighted with this, and I couldn't believe that the refreshing tone didn't change as it dried down. I bet this would be wonderful to layer with other fragrances. The only sad thing... I am a bit allergic to some citrus, and so this ended up irritating my skin... sigh. Maybe I can dab some on a coat or hanky?

I think you have to really love the smell of oranges to love this one. That is all I smelled. It actually smells really delicious, almost edible. But I personally do not want to smell like orange candy.

It took me one second to know that I wanted this. The large bottle, please. Mmm, it smells like a fresh, juicy orange. Mandarin and orange are known for their soothing and relaxing properties, and Arancia is no exception. I've been wearing this a lot lately, but most often when I am working at home late at night, trying to beat a deadline. It definitely helps to keep me calm and relaxed. Unfortunately, the lasting power is not great on this one, as it has no warm basenotes to hold the citrus. Sometimes, I layer it over Diptyque Oyedo, which makes it lasts fairly well for me. Whenever I wear Arancia, I cannot help but take deep whiffs of my wrists every so often. I just make sure that no one else is looking.
