I just bought this perfume and I love it!! Super fresh with a light floral scent. Nothing overpowering, crisp, clean, fresh and wonderful. The name Romance is exactly the feeling you get when you wear it. I am sure I will buy it again. A little pricey but let's be honest, it's Ralph Lauren and I don't mind paying for something of quality. The staying power is awesome. Just one small squirt on the neck and wrist and your are done, be careful not to overdo it. This is a very classy, sophisticated scent...I am beyond happy with my purchase

what! i cant believe i havent reviewed this fragrance. Its been my fall back scent for past 10 years. I love anything with freesia in it, freesia sillage really gels with my body chemistry. Men in my life have always given me a bottle of this one time or another because this scent must seriously represent me. My bro got this for my high school graduation, my husband gave me this on my 26th birthday (several years ago), and my father in law gave me this last christmas. This is always compared to Estee lauder pleasures but that is more rose and this is definitely more citrus and freesia. Sharper and less cloying.

SUPER FLORAL!!!!
this to me is nauseating, all the flowers in the universe are pushed into this bottle, Im not a floral scent person that is why I really dislike this one......... all I have to say is that it gives me mayor headaches, some people love it and I m aware bout that, but if you are like me and dont like the florals, this is like the quuen of them.... so saty away
yuckkkkk!

This is one of my absolute favorite floral scents! It really suits my body chemistry and I'd describe it as an elegant, classic, expensive-smelling floral (NOT a young-woman or old-lady floral). It's definitely more of a medium intensity rather than light and a little goes a long way. I only spray it once on a pulse point and it lasts all day/evening. The only time I don't wear it is for daytime in Summer when I just use the body lotion because the body lotion smells lighter. It smells slightly harsh when it's first sprayed on but after a few minutes it mellows into a gorgeous, feminine, sophisticated and romantic scent. The bottle's plain and simple so I wouldn't be buying it to display the bottle but who cares when it smells this amazing?

This fragrance is pure magic. I've been wearing Romance since it came out and I don't think I'll ever stop. I would describe it as an aquatic-floral. It is a fresh clean scent of delicate floral notes and just a hint of musk. I am a fragrance fanatic and have worn hundreds of different fragrances but this is my all-time favourite. It's sweet, distinctive, elegant, classy and feminine. I get loads of compliments when I wear Romance and my husband loves it. He says it's distinct and very sexy. It has amazing staying power... one spray lasts forever. People say the bottle is boring but I adore the simplistic, understated sleekness of it. I think Romance would make a beautiful wedding day fragrance. Now I've discovered Summer Romance and love that too!

packaging: pretty boring to be honest but somehow suits the whole romance marketing that this fragrance pushes.
price: an expensive smelling fragrance - a medium to expensive priced one.
lasting power: 8/10, won't last ALL day but will last for the majority.
scent: really does make you think of romance - a mature, musky floral yet also fresh! more suited to evening wear or during winter. probably a little too heavy for summer. lovely, in my opinion :) understated, classy and fresh.
overall: very classy. won't regret.

This perfume is really aptly named. Its such a romantic and elegant scent. Those two words describes this perfume PERFECTLY. Its something that makes me feel classy and more matured in a way. 100% feminine and an all-woman scent. Lol. I can easily imagine wearing this on my wedding day in the future. Its the perfect wedding scent for a bride!! Apart from that i would say this perfume is more for formal/evening wear but i think it can be worn for casual occasions or office wear too - just make sure u dont spray it too much. Just not to school - which i previously did - and now i realise its abit too much for that. lol. Im definitely repurchasing this one but since i dont use it everyday it'll take some time before my 50 ml bottle runs out. Longevity is awesome - lasts the whole day and i can still smell it on my scarf a few days later. lol. Anyways overall i LOVE IT =)

I swapped blindly for this (one day I'll learn not to swap or buy fragrances I've never smelled, but I swear it's a compulsion!) and found myself with a like new 3.4 oz. bottle. I'd smelled it in magazine inserts over the years and thought it pleasant enough, so I was excited about the swap.
Having read the reviews here, I was careful not to spritz on much at all - just a tiny, tiny spray on my hand. (Thanks to all of you for the heads up not to spray it too liberally, by the way!) Oh my god - my first thought was that the fragrance had turned, because (to me) it had this sharp, almost cedar smell to it. After a few minutes, though, it became clear that this wasn't a case of an old fragrance, but rather, just one that does NOT work with my chemistry.
I'm completely inept when it comes to articulating notes (and so many others have done such a great job of that already), but I will say that this reminded me of Estee Lauder's White Linen, which I also don't like because I find it too heavy. This was like White Linen amped up a few notches.
While I've never been a fan of the term "old lady perfume," I have to admit that that's the phrase that came to mind as soon as I smelled this on me. (And my husband actually used that description when he caught a whiff - he hated this, too.)
I'm glad this works on so many people, and really, given the overwhelmingly positive reviews here, I'd have to concur with some of the previous reviewers and caution that it's clearly an individual thing: Works well for some people, is disastrous for others, so definitely try it before you buy it - or swap for it. :o)
...And up for swap mine goes!
EDIT: It turns out that I received a fake in my swap, which I found out only after I (unknowingly) swapped the faux fragrance to someone else (who was, thankfully, willing to give me the benefit of the doubt and believe that I myself had been duped). I'll not name names, in case it was an accident, but seriously, swapping fake fragrances and passing them off as authentic...? Not cool.
Anyway, I wanted to clarify that here, as it obviously negates my review. (I've since smelled a magazine insert and was struck by how different it was from the scent I tried, so...grain of salt and all.)

This is one of my all time favorite fragrances. It is a bit heavy for daytime, but can still be used if you're in the mood. I love it's muskiness and it has great staying power. I always get complimented on this scent and asked what I'm wearing whenever I put it on. The bottle is a little boring, but who cares when it smells so good? It is a classic that can be worn by women of all ages.

I really, really like this perfume. It is very fresh and a bit floral, and has great sillage/staying power. I do know people whose body chemistry does NOT work with this fragrance at all, but for some reason this just works great with mine. It's not too overpowering either as long as you dot it over pulse points and don't drench yourself in it. It will linger with you all day and if it works for your body chemistry like it does mine, I think you'll find yourself receiving many compliments for this fragrance. Most men and women alike seem to love this, but I cannot stress enough how important it is not to go overboard on a fragrance like this because since it is such a long lasting fragrance and lingers you really don't want to suffocate anyone.

I had this fragrance from 2001 to 2005. I really liked it and its one of my fav's. I never repurchased it because I want to try other perfumes out. Definitely one to try. Im not sure if I would still like it thou, its never a perfume i spray when I visit a cosmetic store. Maybe thats because I know i used to own it. However I am happy that i did own this at one time.

This does not smell feminine. At all. I am reading all of these reviews and I see that people mention it's, "super feminine", or just, "feminine", and I have no idea where that's coming from. This truthfully borders on the unisex line,
That being said, I like this scent. I actually like the fact that it smells a little masculine, I feel like I can rock that. It's fresh and lasts a very long time (EDP) - especially in your hair. I also enjoy the fact that it is not super girl-y, it feels to me like a counter when I wear dresses and skirts.

I've gone through about 4 bottles of this stuff since I was in hish school and im pretty sure i'll continue to repurchase as long as they make it. It is a very clean flower scent- not to sweet or fruity- just perfect for everyday. It's been able to work for me from my teens to my mid 20's and I think it's pretty much an ageless, classic scent. I have many other perfumes and some that I think are more appropriate for evening and special occassions, but this is my day to day fave.

Oh dear, this smells awful on me. I never can get perfumes to stay, but just one of this on me and I couldn't get it off. It just smells very sharp and soapy on me. Envious if you can get it to work for you, obviously some people are! Gave it a 3 because although I can't stand it, it could just be my body chemistry.

Love this! Somewhat stronger...you only need a few spritz's. I've been told twice, "wow you smell like such a lady!" when wearing this. :) hehe
Not sure I'd wear this every day, more for special occasions or going out.

I like this....it light scented. But not too light where you can't smell it, jus enough...one spray on neck and wrist is all you need....I dnt think its necessary to apply on clothing (does not last long). Anyways, great perfume.

It's an ok scent but it smells like a million other perfumes. You can find something that smells like it pretty much anywhere, for a lot less money. Disappointing.
