I am sad this fragrance hasn't illicited better reviews, and yet its non-popularity pleases me as well. Absolu is, I agree, similar to Addict, but on me, the heady smoky Tonka Bean in Addict is absent. I adore Addict. But I don't miss the tonka bean in Absolu.
Absolu starts out like luscious white orange blossoms dipped lightly in white chocolate and bathed swiftly in woodsmoke. And then, as the day goes on, the flowers linger, and the warmth of the vanilla reveals itself. A smoky dark vanilla, not the creamy sweet foody variety. It warms on my skin, and I feel feminine and alluring without trying too hard. My only complaint is, that it fades too quickly. The remedy to this - I spritz one half squirt of Addict, and then two quick sprays of Absolu over that. Absolu lingers on till the late afternoon, and then the smokiness of Addict takes over. Day, into night. I love it.

I don't think I can say anything that has not already been said;
brooklyntbone has pretty much covered it all and done so very well. In the bottle this DOES smell alot like Dior Addict, except maybe a little softer. My SO, who is sensitive to fragrance, gets very cross with me when I wear Addict because it is just too much scent for him to handle.
Absolue is like Addict's less trouble-making little sister.
I smell something a bit honeyed orange-y, sweet rose-y, mixed with a bit of vanilla, but the scent fades too quickly to be able to tell what it would smell like on the drydown.
Guess I'll stick to Addict - according to my SO it lasts and lasts AND LASTS.

Very perfumey. Smells metallic on my skin. I can't even distinguish the notes, just that it smells awful on me.
