I have been using this powder for about 12 years now, and over the years I have tried other powders and found this to be the best. When applied it does not change the color of your foundation, it has a silky texture and a very pleasant scent. I am giving it a four out of five because it is rather pricey and it comes in terrible bulky packaging!

This is a pretty good powder. It helps my foundation last longer than it would without powder. The only thing i dont like about it is that there is some sparkle to it. Not noticable unless your in direct sunlight as soon as you put it on. But if you wait like half an hour the sparkles blend in and give a little bit of a glow.
Edit: Theres just something about it that i wish could be better. I cant really tell what though. Im still looking for the perfect powder.

I liked the powder, it's silky and finely blended, but too bad it oxidises and turns orange.

I have been using this product for years with no problems. It is not a miracle powder hiding all of your imperfections, but it does at decent job of providing a smooth surface for blush, etc. I only wear concealer under this, so the powder gives enough coverage for my day to day activities. It does not overly dry out my face, but really doesn't provide major oil control. So if that is an issue, you will need another method of holding back the oil. This does not change colors throughout the day and has NEVER caused any breakouts for me. This will remain a staple in my case for now.

I dont know if its just me...maybe its my brush...but this stuff makes my pores stand out and its Sooo Itchy on my skin. I just use a tiny little bit but that little bit makes me want to wash my face and get it off quickly.

I have really good skin so I don't need foundation yet. I wear translucent powder on its own to take down the shine and provide a base for blush and eyeshadow. Transparent 06 oxidises orange on me everytime like an Ompa Loompa. I've never had that in a translucent powder before. I can't wear it was a waste of NZ$75 so I gave it to my friend who has tanned skin so turning orange wouldn't be noticible. Then she gave it back to me. It gives a moisturised dewy look but for her normal to oily skin in summer it makes her skin look so oily it was a makeup meltdown that was actually worse than wearing no powder at all. My mom is in her 50's with oily skin and she didn't like it either. I think this is best for drier "mature" skin types only seeking a dewy finish who want to avoid a dry powdery look.

EDIT November 2012: I got hold of another sample to see if the formula is still the same and it is. Still makes my normal skin look oily, and still oxidises orange.

I talked to one of those Estee Lauder specialists online to help me make a decision on what color to choose, based on what foundation I was using. I bought the lightest shade of this and it was still too dark. The powder itself is really heavy, which I really don't like. The coverage was also kind of cakey, and overall not what I'd expect for such an expensive product. It went back right away, because I'd prefer to look like I actually have some skin under my makeup.

I do love this powder. I apply it over my Double Wear foundation with a big fluffy brush. I first started using this product in the shade Light, but I found that it was turning orangey on my skin by mid/late afternoon. I went back to EL counter and the SA recommended trying Transparent. It looks wonderful on my skin- doesn't make me look washed out. The only complaint that I have is the top lid falls off all of the time- there is an interior lid which keeps the powder from falling out. Even though the powder is a little pricey, I find that it lasts several months (much longer than any drugstore brands).

This review is based on my experience using Lucidity powder in translucent many years ago in my early teens. I have not purchased it since, but I am, however, thinking of purchasing it soon when I have more $$ to burn. Here is my review and background: I have medium skin, more toward the cool side(I cannot wear MAC powders b/c they are too yellow based for my complexion and they break me out), my skin was very clear, but oily. So I bought EL lipstick(cannot remember the shade, but it was GORGEOUS) and I got a free sample of this powder along with other samples. I tried it and loved it!! it did not look fake, orange or unnatural in any way. It controlled oil perfectly w/out making my skin look too matte hence the "washed out/blah" look. It also did not feel heavy nor cause breakouts. That said, I cannot remember if it was the one for normal-dry or the one for normal-oily one. Since then, I have used powders by Maybelline and Cover Girl which worked well also, but I always missed the silky/fine texture of this one. Now I will probably purchase the one for normal/dry since after having using retin-a, my skin is more combination and prone to dry areas, esp. on my cheeks. My routine is simple now-I just use Chanel brozing powder but in the summer I would like to try EL again, hopefully with the same results. In any case, I will update on the outcome.

I like to wear this over my DOUBLE Wear or the new Reslience lift foundations. I put it on with my big fluffy brush and it looks totally natural. I have been a fan for years.

I used this for sometime before i do this review. I got this because of the rather good review here, as i am running out of loose powder, i thought i give this a try. Well, it didn't come across as anything special really. Because of where i lived, tropical country, it doesn't stay on that well, well, basically in my country, i don't think much of the makeup will stay on unless it extremely stay on proof, perhaps. Alright back to the loose powder, i think it did wash me out a little, make me quite pale than i already was. It does set my concealer as i don't used any foundation at all. But i don't think it stay, whether it break me out or not, i'm not that sure as i seldom wear it alone, usually either with makeup base or concealer....it's hard to tell. The only thing i like is the fragrance but i hate the troublesome container it comes in...it does look nice but it's just very troublesome when i am in a hurry or for travelling...it just a basic thing of a loose powder, did nothing special at all...once i used up, it's too expensive not to, i won't repurchase again....luckily i brought this with a voucher so i didn't pay a single cts for it.

This powder is superb and lasts forever. I only use this powder and Nars flesh. Two of the greatest loose powders ever created. Estee Lauder's product gives you an amazing glow and is not too matte, but definitely controls shine.

I have this powder in the loose and pressed versions, both are great! I am a blue eyed blonde with fair skin and the 01 light is perfect for my complexion. The powder is very finely milled and feels like silk on the skin, no breakouts either. I recently steered away to try something a little cheaper (i.e. Merle Norman flawless finish loose powder) Needless to say, I wasn't impressed and went right back to my EL the next day. On a side note, yes, this powder is a little pricey but it lasts forever! One container easily lasted 6-8 months. :-)

I tried this powder and it makes me look washed out. I thought it was the shade, so I exchanged it for another shade and it made me look too dark. After trying 3 shades, I gave up and bought Clinique's loose powder which is $10 cheaper and works a lot better on me.

A Great Powder! It feels great on, I have sensitive skin and it doesn't bother me. I use the 01 Light Translucent. I will definately buy again! I'm thinking of trying out the pressed version once my Elizabeth Arden powder runs out.

I have been using this for over a year. This is the best loose powder I've owned, and it doesn't change your makeup base color the way MAC loose powder does. I use the light/medium, and although it looks slightly peach in the container, it goes on absolutely clear. The other reviewer who said it can oxidize over time is correct. After one year, the powder did appear slightly more orange, but it didn't affect the powder's performance at all. I didn't notice any change to my makeup as I was applying. I did replace the powder with a fresh one because I don't believe in keeping makeup that is older than one year.

One of the best loose powder I’ve ever tried. Very suitable for my dry skin as it goes on very smooth and feels very comfortable on skin, not drying or tight. I like the fact that it’s luminous finish, I don’t prefer too matte look (since I have dry skin) and this one gives a very luminous and slight dewy look. The luminous particles are very fine, not shimmery or glittery at all (I couldn’t even see it) and after apply I can see that my face looks so fresh, light, comfortable and beautiful. I have it in Transparent which is not white or chalky (I’m medium with yellow undertone) . Surely will repurchase.

I have used this powder for many years. I use a big brush to apply to "set" my makeup. I use the translucent as I only want it to set my makeup, which I use EL Futurist. I also love the slight smell it has.

i think this powder is great. i use powder to set my make up which it does and to mop up any shine which it does. it also looks very natural despite being translucent and does not cake. i don't use the puff thats with it i use my own big round brush and that probably helps application. my friends thought i was crazy spending £21.50 on a powder when there are decent ones for a tenner but this is better then decent and it works out very cheap because it lasts so long, i bought mine in dec 03 and i'm not even half way through it at jan 05! my HG i will def repurchase
