Even though i got the sample size of this product, still love. I have normal to dry skin and I rarely have any breakouts but during this summer it's been outta control!!! D: Lucky I had picked this up at my local drugstore but not knowing what it does and not wanting to pay 16$ and throwing it out was just a big no no . anyways I've got to say this amazing, it's like a gel like form and doesn't foam up like other cleansers ( which I like) my breakouts , clear out just in a week. It does't dry out my skin, it leaves it smooth and soft. I would defiantly think about buying the full bottle:) <3

this has been recommended by my dermatologist ("use spectro or cetaphil as cleaners")
it doesn't get rid of your acne , OBV, you need medication to do that. but it is a really, really gentle cleanser [absolutely no drying effect] and probably is one of the best ones out there.

Somewhat oily to very oily blemish-prone skin, I have used this product for only 5 days and it has changed my skin for the better. The redness in my face has reduced, my skin tone evened out, and the pimples have disappeared. I feel so confident talking to people now that my skin has cleared up.

I purchased this product for $16 and for the amount you get it's well worth it. I see on the review that there are people saying it's over-priced, I have purchased a lot of drug store products average of $8.99 for 250ml. You are paying a similar price for the 2 product(spectro jel is 500ml) and instead of continuously trying products that might now work (I've spent tons of money trying products that broke me out and doesn't work) you can buy a product that does work and stick with it.

This product does smell like glue, but IF you have washed it off properly the smell shouldn't linger on your skin. Keep in mind that just because this face wash works for me, doesn't mean it will work for everyone. Like buying any face wash, buy with caution and read reviews.

I use this in the dry skin formula but also like the one for blemish prone skin - not much of a difference but the dry skin formula gives my face a little something extra when I have eczema flare ups. I ADORE this stuff. I remember my sister used to use it forever ago and I thought it was horrible...slimy and stinky. Now when I put it on my skin it feels like the ultimate comfort. Completely non-irritating and non-drying. I use it every morning and my skin feels wonderful after. It does not remove makeup, so I use a different product at night.

Hate this product with a passion. I bought the Spectro Jel for blemish-prone skin.... TERRIBLE. "Deep cleans while protecting skin's natural moisture." What a joke. Not one word of that was true. It was like lathering foul-smelling... nothing on my face. It did NOT feel like it cleaned my skin AT ALL and it left a gross film on my face. Not to mention it stinks. So gross. Never everrrr will buy again.

Spectro jel controls my oil and balances the moisture at the same time. The only problem I can say I have is the price and packaging.

Great gentle cleanser (much better than Cetaphil) - leaves skin clean but not dried out to bits. Does not remove makeup (I use it after my eye makeup remover).

I get the odd pimple but one summer i was breaking out like a pubescent teenager. It was horrible! i didn't want to use proactive from all the horrible things i've heard about it so i decided to give spectro a try. It worked wonders when i first started using it. It got rid of all my pimples and kept my skin clear but after a few months or so of using it i started to get these little bumps around my mouth. They weren't whiteheads or those sore pimples or anything, just these little bumps. There was just a few at first but then they started to spread all around my chin and mouth. I kept using the spectro gel thinking it would take them away as it once had, but it just got worse! So i decided to go organic and cleanse with honey and use jojoba oil and vit E as my moisturizer (at night). After a week of doing this the bumps disappeared and haven't been back since! it has now been about a month since ive used spectro and my face has never looked better. I know those cleansers/moisturizers are specially formulated to treat pimples but in my case, it only made my situation worse. I would defiantly recommend going the organic way as its way less harmful for your skin and really does work and continue to! Its only been about a month since i've started doing this regiment so i will keep MUA updated if anything changes but after reading the other reviews on MUA about honey/jojoba oil, it doesn't seem like anything will change :)

Great packaging, horrible product. This does nothing to your skin except leave a thin film on top. It supposedly moisturizes but my dehydrated yet oily skin is still dehydrated and oily. It doesn't clean well either, or at least it doesn't feel like it's cleaning anything. After waking up in the morning and using this, it feels like your pores still have dirt and oil in them.

Love love love this product! I had minor breakouts on my chin and forehead and i've been using this for a week or so and it's already cleared up! Really gentle. Prevents breakouts and doesn't dry my skin. The only con is that it smells like glue, doesn't bother me at all though (:

I bought the spectro blemish prone cleanser during the winter time in 2009, and i am currently on my second bottle. When i first purchased this, it did everything for my skin, it prevented pimples, acne, balanced and protected my natural moisture,it made my skin flawless, thus i bought a second bottle. starting from winter till now, i feel that this cleanser is not cleaning my face well and i have to follow it up with a toner, plus my skin changed from normal - combonition to normal - dry . im so sad that i have to go find a new cleanser that suits my skin.

every time I try a different cleanser, I end up missing my Spectro Jel. I use the one for combination skin, which I have, and its the only that that regulates and balances my skin, AND prevents breakouts and actually removes ALL my makeup.

when I use this cleanser, I actually dont need to wear makeup or foundation!!!! it makes my skin look even and clear. Ive actually had people ask me what foundation Im wearing, because it looks awesome, and I tell them nothing! just cleanse with this stuff!

right now Im trying cetaphil, which is very similar but its not enough to remove my makeup and prevent breakouts, so I'll be going back to my Spectro Jel.

PS: their line of moisturizers are amazing! they are the only ones I like! HG product for both!

I love this cleanser. I have VERY sensitive skin and it's the only cleanser that doesn't cause any problems. Even products that are meant for sensitive skin make me break out but this one is great. It's perfect for everyday use, The only complaint that I have is that you need to apply a very generous amount you your skin because it doesn't foam of expand.

Whenever I stray from this cleanser I regret it. I'm the type of person that doesn't like to use any product containing SLS, so this is why the cleanser originally spoke to me. Leaves my face like velvet. Doesn't strip my skin and cause the usual cosmetic dermatitis I get from other inexpensive products. Can't live with out this stuff. I throw some essential oil into to make it smell better (or like something at all). You have to give this a go!

EDIT* Still the best, without a doubt. I have been precleansing with JOJOBA oil to remove makeup all over face, then washing with Spectro.
This works so well that I didn't even get my usual PMS acne.
There is a god!

Good as a VERY gentle cleanser. Dont use it if you have acne though because it is not strong enough for it.

I've been using the "Spectro Derm" version of this product for a couple of months now, and I can now say that it's working for me. It is the formula for dry skin, and my skin is dry and sensitive. I'd suggest using a separate make up remover as this may not remove all makeup completely.

A lot of people (including cosmetologists) recommend washing your face regularly, but I tend to not wash my face more than once a day, I don't feel it's necessary because I don't wear a lot of makeup, and my skin is naturally dry. This cleanser does help put the moisture back into my skin, but it doesn't really create any miracles. The smell is somewhat like a medicinal sanitizer, but it doesn't linger and it isn't haggard like witch hazel. It doesn't lather, and you just rub the product into your skin; it does not leave any residue! It IS amazing enough that I've already bought a backup of it. I got the 500mL bottle for about $11CAD @ Walmart. They often go on sale at drugstores, and there is a smaller version for around $5-6 -- great for those who want to try it out. I'll have to go to Costco once my bottles run out to get the 900mL version. I love this product and I don't think I'll ever revert back to cetaphil or dove.

I have only used this product for less then a week - but have already noticed my skin has a much different texture- soft!

I never really had an acne problem, just the odd pimple every few weeks or at TOTM. I'd do the regular exfoliate, Astringent & moisturize routine. Well lately I've developed acne - in my 20's. I'm not sure why, but I thought I'd just need to step up my cleaning routine.

I got the whole kit at walmart for $15.97 - The blemish prone cleanser, Blemish prone moisturizer and acne deep pore acne care cream. I love it. I think this product will take care of my problems :)

As I said before I've only used this for a few days - but I'm already getting compliments on my skin, and I've noticed a huge difference too. It isn't a "Soap" it doesn't foam. You put this jel on your face, rub for 30 seconds and whipe off with a moist cloth! Then moisturize, then put the acne cream on. This has ALSO cut down a lot in my cleaning routine.

I love this cleanser. It is great for washing your face in the morning when you don't want to use anything too harsh and dry out your face. It leaves my skin very soft and clean. All you need is one pump and rub it on your face for 30 seconds and rinse off. It smells a little chemically but I would rather that than a strong fragrance that will make me break out. I will continue to use this every morning.

I first learned about this product while on vacation in Canada, staying with my aunt. She was curious about my skincare regimen and after showing her my then-current cleanser, she made a face and told me to wash my face with the Spectro Jel she had on her sink counter. Before we left, she gave me a brand-new pump of SJ she'd bought for me to take, since its not available in the US.

Initially, I was skeptical of this cleanser, but I've grown to really like it. No, it does not remove makeup as its really REALLY gentle. It does not lather, you just glide it on your skin for 30 seconds, then rinse. It doesn't cause breakouts nor prevent them, but honestly you shouldn't be looking at a cleanser to control acne in the first place, a cleanser is just that - to cleanse your skin. Even though it is gentle, my skin does feel clean, soft, and refreshed after use.

Currently I'm on the Acne.org regimen and I think their cleanser is a bit too drying, so I went back to this stuff. I have to order SJ from Well.ca but well worth it, since it's such a huge pump bottle it easily lasts a few months. For me, this is much better than Cetaphil, which always seemed to leave some kind of film over my face. This is one of the best gentle cleansers I've come across.
