EDIT 3 : Took of another lippie, I'm oily this season and it doesn't keep my face matte for longer than 2 hours, so sad. I found out BE Mineral Veil does a better job at oil control and has a silkier finish. After 1 month using it now I think it's just a so-so powder.
EDIT 2 : I found out that if I just dip the puff in the powder it will cake because too much powder is put on, so now I use a dense brush to kind of stipple the powder on my face, then use the puff to press it in.
Also found out that it doesn't control oil as good as Maybelline Dream Matte powder, but it looks more "luminous" because after about 2 hour with the little oil on my face the finish looks airbrushed, really beautiful. I'll use this powder for night time.
-----
*EDIT : Took of 1 lippie, it will streak on dry skin - Laura Mercier's transparent loose powder doesn't do so, but Laura Mercier's is more lightweight - so make sure you moisturize extremely well using NARS. Somehow I can't stand using the puff either, it picks up too much on one side and I still have to blend later so now I'm using a kabuki.
--------
I'd not repeat how awesome this powder is, I'll just note about the packaging :
- VERY IMPORTANT : When you first open it, DON'T PEEL THE STICKER ALL THE WAY. It will make a mess and you will regret it later. I peel mine about half the number of holes - just enough for an application.
- The fish net : It is said on the sticker that you can leave it on top or in the powder for a finer finish. So I lift up the top with the holes and place the fish net ON TOP of the powder, then put the top back.
- I keep the sticker, when I apply it, I'll peel it halfway, take the product out on the cap, then place it back. That way I have had minimal fall out. I think you can substitute it with a clean paper of the same size.
- It's very easy to get the outside of the box dirty by your fingerprint. But you can clean it with a cloth.
Other than that, this powder is superb - it doesn't lighten my skin tone like some translucent powder, it's not powdery at all, and so lightweight.

After reading all the rave reviews here on makeup alley and youtube videos I had to go out and try this. I chose the powder in Beach for my NC30 skintone, the colormatch was great, however I can't say the same for the powder itself. Aside from the packing that sucks because you loose so much product every time you open it, the staying power and oil control is horrid. It compares to drugstore brand loose powders, so save some money and get covergirl's loose powder.

For reference I'm nc42-44 with very strong yellow undertones. Combo winter, more oily summer. Acne prone. I purchased this in mountain.
My favourite powder ever!! I use it over any foundation and it never makes me look cakey, no matter how much I put. It has a satin finish imo - makes me healthy. It has really good oil controlling properties.
Took 1 lippie off as it has the worst packaging ever. So what I did was purchase a sifter jar from Sephora and transfered some powder into their.
Not much more to say except I love this powder and would purchase again.

This is my fav powder. Finishes great everything looks smooth. I have some oily spots but as long as I have this on no prob with that. This powder lasts forever, so the price isn't so bad. It is very messy.

it has a bunch of positive reviews so i bought it when i almost finished my givenchy prism loos powder. i am disappointed by the messy packaging. i bought it online, and upon recieving it was already leaking. i hadn't even opened it yet! so basically i could never travel with it. i couldnt find any pressed powder i like(they are just toooooo sheer to do anything!)so i have to carry my powder foundation with me. but then it looks heavy on my face when touching up. why couldnt they make a slightly better box?it is not just leaking, the cap is big and just not able to seal it(not a screwing on type).so it is so easy to make a mess on my vanity.
so next onto the product. i bought this and a chanel loose powder at the same time. i ordered them online and i chose flesh in nars and 20 clair in chanel. i have to say the chanel one suits me better as it is a tad lighter than Nars flesh. for reference i use Guerlain Beige pale, MUFE HD 117,MUFE f&b 20, chanel pro lumiere 20(a tad darker) so this one in flesh was a close match but slightly jaundice looking. it looks a litter bit orange on me when i use a slightly darker/yellow foundation.but it works well when my faoundation shade is kind of off, for example when i use givenchy photo perfection in 01(wrong shade, a shade lighter, quite noticable). so they work well together. it is so hard to choose shade with this one. in order to have a better match i might have to mix snow with this, but i really dont feel like buying another box given the poor packaging. however, the texture is really impresive, light-weight, not drying, not cakey. the puff is really nice too, but it does not fit in the box. again.what are they thinking?
love the product, little upset about the shade. hate the packaging.
i will repurchase if they re-package it in a better way
in the same purchase, i love the chanel one better for two reasons-better match, clean and classy packaging(portable if you dont mind the size)

I love love love this powder. It's superlight and sets my foundation beautifully. I actually love the packaging: i always keep it on top of my vanity, since I use it everyday (and that way I don't move it around too much); love the big cap to swirl my brush in :)

It's now 35gms instead of 45gm. Just bought a new pack. Weighed it against my empty old one and it's definately 35gms.
Hate it when companies do that. 23% less product for the same price.
Just lost a customer and this is going back to SpaceNK tomorrow.

I love this product. I've tried the mac prep and prime transparent powder and thought it was good but for £17 you dont get much. I decided to try this and although its £25 you get a whole lot more product for your money. Although it isnt translucent, there is no coverage to it so the colour wont affect your skin tone too much. I will definitely repurchase this and I have already bought it as a gift for someone else.

I really don't understand the hype about this product. I got to know about NARS loose powder through MUG who raved about this product so much I felt like I HAD to have it. It's really expensive but she said it's got a lot of product, so it's really worth the money. Well, I got it in FLESH, perfect for my NC25 skin tone. It really has a lot of product but I don't find it any different from any other loose powder. And the packaging, ohmygoodness, it's such a MESS!!! Whenever I open it, powder gets wasted everywhere. If I have to waste some powder every time I open it, then it really is a waste of money. Nothing spectacular about this product. Save your money for something else. Like NARS Blush in Orgasm.

Love it! It goes on smooth and my bush glides on top of it. The packaging could be better. It's easy for some of the powder to end up around the edges of the container so when you lift the lid it gets all over the place. You get a lot of powder for the price. I have this in Eden (waiting for Beach to arrive) and it's pretty light. The powder goes on quite sheer so it doesn't change the color of your foundation but I like my powders to match closer to my skin color.
For reference I wear Stromboli Sheer Glow, MAC NC35 Studio Fix Fluid.
UPDATE 11/9/10: I received Beach today so I put Eden and Beach side to side. Eden has a pink tone to it and Beach has a yellow tone to it. I expected Beach to be a darker than Eden but it's not. I like Beach better. Oh, when I received Beach there was powder all over the outside and inside the container. Eden arrived clean so I guess it's a hit or miss?

I am a NW25, and I find this product only slightly better than OK due to price per oz. The MUA put me between Flesh and Dessert. I will admit, that when PILED on my cheek this seemed accurate enough. However, when wearing as a finishing powder, the flesh looks a little dark. This could be due to my oily skin. For reference I apply the powder with the puff provided (cleaned after each use) in a rolling motion using a small amount of product. In any-case I am left with a very large container of Dessert that is much too dark. I did however get it on sale from the website, otherwise I would have returned it immediately. I do however use it very lightly to blend parts of my body that are naturally lighter than surrounding skin. For example my neck is lighter than my face and collar bone area.
Although my jars are not pristine I do not seem to have so much trouble with them being overly messy. Although I do not keep the puff inside the jar, it does fit. I keep the mesh instert below the sifter. When I need more product, I place the lid on, turn it upside down, then right side up, tap the container on the table, and remove the lid. This leaves me with enough product on the sifter for at least a couple of days. I also apply this product with a small brush to my crows feet to prevent eyeshadow emphasizing the lines. I use good eyeshadow, and base, but this helps very much.

I'm around an NC-25 and I use the colour Beach. This product is okay. It does a decent job; my face has a nice soft finish after I use this but it doesn't control oil especially well. It's also not finely milled, as I've tried to put it into my other empty powder jars and this powder doesn't go through the sifters! Tip: put the sifter underneath the plastic separator, and poke holes through the sticker instead of taking the whole sticker off, so that you don't dispense a messy crap-load of product - it's very messy. The packaging isn't smart, it's a typical NARS-like rubbery matte box so powder just sticks onto it and makes it look dirty. Also, the puff is round and slightly bigger than the square box, so it doesn't even fit inside... I'm on my second one only because I desperately needed one and this was the best in terms of price for quantity. It is the most inexpensive department store powder for a whopping 45g, which lasts me around 6 months with daily usage. I will be on the lookout for another one once this runs out. Retails for $42 CAD.

For reference I'm an NC40/42 with golden undertones, normal/combo oily skin.
Guess I'm the minority on this. This is not that good a quality product for the price. The packaging is so bulky and messy, powder goes flying everywhere and you end up wasting a load of product. The puff that's included with it is useless; hard and doesn't fit into the box. The powder itself is quite finely milled and applies okay....it doesn't mattify my face at all, which can be a positive or a negative depending on what you're looking for. I got the shade BEACH and it's a little light, but because I use such a little amount of this powder on my face at a time, it doesn't make me look like a geisha and blends with my skintone. It doesn't control oil well, although I don't know if this product is supposed to or not. The finish is leaves is quite nice and satiny. But it does not last long on my skin at all.
I wouldn't repurchase as it's too expensive and the quality is somewhat comparable to a DS product.

This is my HG powder. I will wear nothing but a loose powder. I was using L'Oreal Translucide for a few years and I thought it was pretty good until I tried MUFE's loose powder. Except, MUFE just seemed to sheer and I need more coverage.. so I kept looking because I realized I loved these finely milled powders. Finally, I was watching MakeupGeek on Youtube and saw that she loved this powder and her description of it made me want it even more. I bought it and am very pleased with the coverage and the airbursh look it gives me. I havent had to worry so much about my makeup getting oily because that is a big problem for me. When used in conjunction with my primer, it's keeping the oil from coming through so much. Yea! It's the worth the money for me because I think powder is very necessary and you get alot of quality for your money. IMO. The packaging could be better (i had fallout when i opened my new pkg) but use it according to how another reviewer said: put the screen UNDER the sifter. Do not leave it on top because the powder will just get stuck under it. Well, that's my review and I'll keep buying this till they discontinue it. :)

I think this loose powder is great. Although it could be packaged for a little less fall out - it is a finely grained powder formula with a variety of colors from which to choose. Also, they are very generous with the quality. It is a true loose powder, not a powder foundation and I like that. Sometimes I mix it with my MUFE HD translucent powder and sometimes I use it alone - but either way it leaves my face looking perfect - blending over my foundation and blushes to give me a good overall no oil look. Nars products are just excellent, generally. I use Nars Sheer Glow and all their eyeshadows and blushes. Between Nars and Mac - what more could a gal ask for?

Hmm...I was thinking of giving this product 1 lippie but change my mind since I tried this when my skin is under acne treatment (bp 2.5% applied all over face) so generally my skin is oily but flaky right now (uggghh what a combination) and applying powder can be a bit tricky.
The results on my skin is sooo bad I want to cry. It settles into my pores, making them look ridiculously enormous, accentuate dry flakes and moreover I did choose the wrong shade. Turns out the shade beach is too light on my yellow tone nc42 south east asian, it leaves some sort of 'white cast' on me.
But despite the outcome, I'm still giving this product 3 lippies because when I applied it to my neck (which is apparently lighter than my face and under no acne medication) - it does blends quite impressively, it doesn't look powdery, it has great coverage, blends naturally and have good staying power.
All in all, if you have normal or oily skin, I think this is a good product. But if you have dry spots or just generally dry and flaky skin, try bobby brown loose powder instead, now that's the only powder that can cover my pores without settled onto them and just giving the illussion that I have perfect skin :)
EDIT :
have to come back editing my review. For the past week I tried mixing my bobbi brown loose powder (warm natural) which is a tad too dark on me and not very long lasting on my oily (yet flaky) face with my nars beach LP and I love the results! Thinking that my light shade nars has 'drying' effect and my 'tad too dark L/P' BB has 'oily'effect, I thought well why not combining the two. And the result is right on perfect :). After several attempts, I got the shade right and it looks beautifully blended with my skin, no more obvious looking patches or accentuated pores. My skin just looks 'fresh' and well covered without that dreaded powdery looking given previously by Nars.
I think Nars L/P has turn BB L/P into a 'long lasting' powder and BB L/P has 'soften' Nars L/P somehow that it is wearable on my currently ravaging drying oily skin with a considerably great lasting power. When I use BB L/P alone my nose will start to get oily in 1 hour, but with this combination, I see oil seeping tru after 4 hours (which is quite impressive for me and my oily skin and my living in humid and hot area)
It is quite the hassle having to mix the two though so after finishing this powder (which can be quite sometimes considering the amounts both products given) I think I will try other product that has the benefit of bobbi brown LP and Nars LP combined together, if you have any idea, lemme know, will you ladies...:)

First of all- they give you so much of this stuff that i'm not sure i'll EVER have to buy again! I love that this comes in an array of colors to match their foundations. I bought Punjab sheer glow foundation and set it with the loose powder in Beach and it gives a nice matte glow. I have problems finding powder that's not too cakey and not too yellow, but this is great! I'm having some problems trying to figure out the sifter/puff but think i might just switch to using my powder brush instead of the puff. Very pleased with this powder and high recommend it to all skin types!

Most definitely my HG powder! I use this to set my foundation and it gives a flawless finish. My skin is really oily, and while his powder doesn't keep my face extremely matte all day, it makes a huge difference in the way my face looks at the end of the day. I used this on my mom as just a powder without foundation under it and it kept her semi-oily skin matte all evening.I definitely recommed it if you are looking for a great setting and finishing powder. I gave it a 3 for packaging because it is a bit messy and true to the NARS packaging, it gets really dirty really quick.
