This shampoo weighed down my hair and took forever to rinse out- not a good sign for a product that is supposed to make your hair feel fuller. Maybe thick hair that is flat would benefit but it totally weighed down my fine hair and made it greasy. I love John Frieda products so I was very surprised to see this one fail.

I was mildly disappointed to find that this product didn't live up to its claims. I only saw a 10-15% increase in voume when I used it on my own hair. However, there were a few benefits to using this shampoo. First, it lathered really well; a little goes a long way. Second, it did make my fine hair more responsive to styling, and my hairstyle held for most of the day. So I think this could be a decent product if JF altered its packaging claims to reflect the product's actual effectiveness, rather than practicing false advertising. Luckily, I didn't invest too much money in the product, since I used a free sample that came in the mail. I may commit to buying this product, but only because I have a coupon for it. $6 is way too much money to pay for only 8 oz. of product.

After reading the incredible claims about this product ("110% more fullness, 50% more thickness, 90% more lift") I was hooked. I went to Ulta and bought the shampoo and conditioner. I didn't really like the conditioner, so I won't waste my time reviewing it. Anyways I tried the shampoo in the shower, and when I was distributing it through my hair, my initial thought was that I didn't like it. It smelled good, but it felt like I was rubbing Pantene shampoo through my hair (like kind of rough, and it make it feel "squeaky" which i hate). I felt like I needed LOADS of conditioner because this shampoo didn't do much to detangle and soften my hair. I followed with Neutrogena Triple Moisture mask, which softened my tangles to perfection :). Then I airdry my hair, usually go to bed with wet hair so I'm not a dripping mess everywhere, and when I woke up, SURPRISE! My hair looked great! It actually seemed my waves were more defined, and for the 110% more fullness? Maybe more like 30%.. But it did give my hair some volume and body! I really like the way this shampoo makes my hair look, despite it's awful feel as I rub it through my hair. If you're looking for a pretty nice, inexpensive shampoo, and don't mind the squeaky feeling/using lotsa conditioner, then I'd give this one a try!

By itself this shampoo is ok for volume. With the luxurious volume thickening mousse it makes my hair feel waxy or dirty I'm not sure how to describe it. I also tried it with Kiehls thickening spray and the same thing. So it must be the shampoo. I cant wait to wash my hair now. I wont be buying this again.

I've been a devotee of the Brilliant Brunette Volumizing shampoo and conditioner because they do what other products don't: give my fine, color-treated and highlighted hair volume wwithout drying it out and shine without greasiness (and I have tried every product on the market, from drugstore cheapies to high-end salon products).
So when stores in my area (Montreal, Canada) stopped selling the Volumizing line and introduced Luxurious Volume instead, I was worried - did the company discontinue a great product and substitute an inferior one instead (one of my pet peeves, by the way - whern a company tweaks the formula and calls it new and improved - and it may be new, but it's actually worse).
Anyway, I needn't have worried - I bought the new Luxurious Volume shampoo and conditioner and together, they give me the great results I've come to expect from the Volumizing line.
UPDATE: I've taken off 2 lippies because I found that over time, this leaves my hair dull and dried-out. I recently found a store which still sells the Volumizing Shampoo and boy, what a difference! WHY OH WHY do companies discontinue great products and replace them with a supposedly better but actually worse product?

Around £5.50 in the uk, i bought this when my redken colour extend shampoo and cond had finished and this right now is being advertised everywhere...so i thought why not...what a waste of money. I have fine hair, but lots of it, highlighted and hair that tends to b weighed down by products easily and can look a little flat. anyway this shampoo actually made my hair really flat i didnt see any volume AT ALL. It doesnt really have a scent to it, and doesnt really do anything to my hair. on the plus side it lathers really well, makes my hair feel so clean and soft...but....thats it. matrix is the best so far for really great volumising shampoos and conds that give volume as is the aussie conditioner. NOTE: I used the matching shampoo and cond together for this review. NOTE2: I couldnt wait to wash my hair today- it was so lank and flat after just one day, anyway i used my cheap herbal essences and my hair is back to life!!
