I just can't believe I've been shelling out so many dollars on Bumble & Bumble products ... especially the Gentle and the Seaweed shampoos. That was such a waste because this shampoo is so fantastic and it's so inexpensive (comparatively). My hair is VERY color treated (read: abused) and this cleanses beautifully without stripping. I use a lot of hairspray and wax in my hair and this gets every last bit of product out of my hair without making it feel like straw. My hair feels so soft and smooth despite the fact that it's been processed.
I read some reviews that say that they didn't need a conditioner with this, but that's not my experience. I certainly need a conditioner since my hair is prone to tangles but I certainly don't need a heavyweight conditioner since this shampoo isn't drying.
I'm sure if your hair is healthier than mine it would make a great daily shampoo, but right now, I alternate between this shampoo and a cleansing conditioner every other washing (and I only wash twice a week). One washing with this shampoo will leave my hair relatively clean for about 4 days, but I can only get 3 days max with my cleansing conditioner.
UPDATE: While everything I said about this product is still true, I ended up downgrading this because I think there are shampoos out there that do exactly what this one does for a fraction of the cost with similar ingredients.

Very gentle and pleasant, doesnt dry out my fine blonde hair. Gets it clean but doesnt strip it, not very pleased with the bottle, basic, and kinda hard to open.

Very good shampoo! I have been on the hunt for a shampoo that works well for my past my shoulders length finer hair. This stuff is amazing.
**UPDATE**
After prolonged use of this product and the conditioner I found it left my hair quite dry. It kind of reminds me of a clarifying shampoo that should only be used once a week. Maybe that is what I will use it as because when I first used it I loved the results. Lots of lift at the scalp. On that note: I did however experience some flaking at the scalp. Nothing too chunky or out of control but that is just out of the ordinary for me. Who knows. I guess it is going to take me a little while to figure out what will work for me.
I am now switching to redken all soft and I am going to be using this as a clarifying shampoo/conditioner combo. I will update to tell you how it is going!

Pretty good shampoo, gets my oily hair really clean without drying it out too much. Coconut smell is fine. May buy again.

If I use this in a "lather-rinse" scenario, then it's fantastic: gentle, smells wonderfully coconutty, volumizes my fine hair, gets my scalp squeaky (finger-rubbing-on-tupperware) clean, and significantly decreases hair loss in the shower (compared to other shampoos). If I use this in a "lather-rinse-REPEAT-rinse" scenario, then my hair becomes a tangled mess, and I lose a lot of hair down the drain. I know... weird, huh? But even with this bizarre duality, I still love this shampoo. I just need a dime-sized amount to produce a mild, not-overly-sudsy lather. And the smell actually lingers in my hair so that if it happens to get wet later, I can still smell coconuts. ;) Plus, my hair is full of body and movement, regardless of which/how much conditioner I use. Sure, it's more expensive than drugstore shampoos, but it's totally worth it (esp if you buy the huge bottles on sale w/ a coupon at Ulta). So far, so great with Shampoo One!! =D

Paul Mitchell products are so understated (no fancy packaging), been around so long, people forget about them in the hype of all the "new" stuff. I bought this shampoo for a measley $7 at Ulta. It has a pleasant coconut type smell and is a clear liquid. It lathers wonderfully, cleans well without any dry/stripped feeling and rinses leaving my hair feel clean. I always use Pureology Hydrating conditioner and that is what I used with Shampoo One. It also says it is safe for color treated hair.
The only con I am noting is that this shampoo is loaded with cones. I usually don't run from one or two, but there seem to be a lot in here. I don't know if that will be a problem in the long run.
UPDATE: Mammit! The heavy, heavy cones (I can handle lighter ones) just started to build up and take their toll on my very fine locks. Only use this if you are prepared to clarify at least once a week.

I like this shampoo a lot! It lathers well, doesn't leave my scalp itchy and doesn't strip the hair. It also smells very clean! Very reasonably priced too!

Ok, I love testing out different shampoos of different brands. BUT this is the only one I always go back to. This is very gentle and smells so nice! I feel like I have been using Shampoo One my whole life because my mom always bought it when I was a kid. My hair is super oily, like if i don't take a shower daily my roots are greased and sleeked the next day. This is a great basic shampoo that gets the job done of cleansing your hair, but without stripping it to the max. If you have fine, normal, or oily hair this is a great purchase.
PS my hair is so oily in the summer so i used paul mitchell shampoo 2 ! its the best for us greasies .

I was so unimpressed when I went to my salon to buy my normal awuphui shampoo and they didn't have any. They suggested this instead and as I had gone out of my way to go there I agreed and stumped up for it. They assured me that this would be fine for my hair and wouldn't make it lank or greasy.
After using it a few times I am happy with it, I think I prefer the other one (I can't spell it or even say it properly) but this one is definitely a very good product. I love the coconut smell and recognise it as one that has been used on me in the salon before I've had my hair cut. I very much like it and would buy it again. I use this with the detangler, my hair is dyed on a fairly regular basis - ie whenever i get bored of it. My hair is fine and prone to grease.
I think that the awaphui gives it more volume and I like that. This is nice though and for winter it seems to give it the TLC that it needs.
I've been put off d/s shampoo forever now because I can see the difference with using high end shampoos that are MATCHED by a hairdresser to your hair type, when i chose my own before i think i chose the wrong ones. Or just based my choice on reviews and not on what was actually right for me.
Paul Mitchell is a brilliant brand, I will definitely keep buying his products.

It has a wonderful coconut scent to it that I just love! It is not sulfate-free, but unlike most other sulfate shampoos it does not leave my hair feeling stripped afterwards. It gently, yet effectively cleanses my hair and it is a good product to incorporate into one's regimen especially if they have naturally dry hair like mines.

I am on the fence about this one. Here are my thoughts on this product.... PROS: I notice when I use it that I lose significantly less hairs in the shower using this shampoo compared to other brands... I never realized the others might have caused that until I switched to this.... big difference! Perhaps it makes my hair stronger? I am not sure what might cause this. Also, it seems to not really fade my color (so far, I am about 7 weeks in.... so time will tell how it holds up...). Overall it seems pretty gentle. CONS: It doesn't lather! I am used to lather so that kind of annoys me. Also, people were raving about the coconut smell, which I was looking forward too, but unfortunatey you can hardly notice it. I want something that stays in my hair ( I love things that smell good!)
In conclusion, I probably would buy this again. It seems to last awhile with every other day use... Still searching for an HG shampoo though...
EDIT: I really like this shampoo after using it for sometime now... my color has lasted a long time and my hair doesn't feel overly dry like with many other shampoos. My hair stylist even recommends this product. I will continue to purchase this product.

My mom is a hair stylist so I've tried a lot of shampoos.
I'm an Asian with rare natural brown hair... Not a dark brown like black, just brown.
This is the ONLY shampoo that makes my brown hair remarkably radiant and beautiful. Somehow it gives me a copper shine--when my hair hits the light, it has all this lovely copper tones to the brown. Great great great product!

I hate being the odd ball out, but I don't see what all the fuss is about. Everyone seemed to love this shampoo, so naturally I had to try it. I really didn't see much of a difference between this and d/s shampoos, except for the price tag. It didn't lather well, so I had to use more than normal. It smelled OK, but I'm not crazy about tropical fragrances. On top of all that, it left my hair feeling like one big clump of dry, brittle hair. After conditioning my hair felt fine, but I can get the same results from a $1 bottle of VO5, rather than shell out money for Paul Mitchell.

This is a great all around shampoo: gets rid of all my styling gunk I use daily, doesn't strip all moisture, doesn't cause my color to fade, and smells wonderful! I have the tub with the pump, which is very convenient, and you only need a very small amount ... which is pretty nice comparable to it's price. I rotate this with a more moisturizing shampoo every other day, unless I used a more than normal amount of product that day; if it was more moisturizing and helped more to create a silkier, smoother look, it would definitely get five lippies!

This smells like a pina colada and cleans my hair without drying or stripping. My hair feels soft and does not dry frizzy or rough when I get out the shower, so I know it is a gentle shampoo and a good choice to rotate with. You don't need to use a lot. The bottle says it is designed to take care of those with weak, color-treated, or damaged hair, but my hair is pretty healthy and still benefits from using this every now and then. Worth a shot.

The only shampoo that hasn't run the color out of my hair! It cleans without drying so I don't have to use conditioner on my thin hair.

My hair: long, normal texture and thickness, virgin, healthy and unproblematic. I have the original version of this. Love the light coconut-y scent. Lathers well. Leaves hair feeling normal, not dried out but not limp either. A good daily shampoo for those with no real hair issues.
