After Savage Bronze got discontinued, *gasp*, I have been on a never ending search for a replacement. I have tried countless brands, from the cheap to the very expensive, from sprays, to lotions, to gels, to creams. And that experiment was a huge waste of time, patience, & money.
Persoanlly, since Savage Bronze was my all time fav, I tend to prefer the mousse, as long as you're applying it with the NO MESS SELF TAN MITT from THE BODY SHOP. The mitt is the KEY to applying self tanning mousse!!!!
So in my last ditch effort, I found a Sally's that I had never been to. Hoping & praying that maybe, just maybe, they might have 1 or 2 bottles of Savage Bronze lying around, but to my dismay, OF COURSE THEY DIDN'T. I then decided to purchase one of their other self tanning mousse. I chose TANWISE, and with my SALLY'S card, it was only $9.99. So what's another $10?
Immediately upon applying TANWISE, I absolutely LOVED the consistency. It was a "creamy" mousse compared to all the others that I have tried. It wasn't watery like Savage Bronze, and the smell was sort of like cocoa butter, which I DEFINITELY liked. It was EXTREMELY easy to apply, even though the color guide wasn't quite as dark as SB.
Overall, I have found a replacement that will end my quest of finding a tanner that I can live with. So as of now, TANWISE is your best bet if you like mousse self tanners. It lasts about the same length of time and the smell is actually BETTER than SB.
Happy Tanning, Girls.

I've just used this for the first time and the only con is I think I prefer a spray over the mousse....the good thing about the mousse is it dries almost instantly but that was also a bad thing for me. I didn't wear gloves and because it dries so quickly my hands were stained by the time I finished applying it. I wish the color guide was a tad darker only because I already have some color so it didn't help much but at the same time I did look a shade darker right away. Because it was drying so fast I was a little nervous about knees, elbows, ankles etc even though I followed the directions and applied cream to those areas first...I also went back over them with my Malibu Hemp just to make extra sure I didn't have any funky spots.
I'll update tomorrow morning after another shower with the color results but if the color I look now, six hours after applying, is any indication, it's a great medium brown....not tropical but definitely darker and truer brown than anything else I've used (which is anything you can find at a drugstore). NO ST smell so far, actually smells a little like Coca Cola to me lol.
EDIT: After using it for the third time, I'd review it again about the same. The color is a tad on the orange side but it doesn't scream "FAKE TAN"....I've decided the best application since the mousse dries so quickly is to moisturize first and let that dry completely, skip ankles, knees and elbows, and use my Malibu Hempz on those areas. I use it daily between the tanwise apps anyway and it seems to be a good routine for me.

I was a dedicated savage bronze user until sally's stopped carrying it. After having nothing for a month and then getting very pasty, I decided to give another self-tanner a shot. I tried the sally's replacement for savage bronze "tanwise". I chose the mousse and the results are awesome. It is just like my old self-tanner except it smells better (no burnt chocolate smell) and it seems to be slightly more orangey. It stays on the the same length of time and is applied the same way. I like this more. Perfect tan results.
