I love this primer, it makes eye shadows adhere and stay crease less all day! I used to use the E.L.F. primer and then went to UDPP both worked with keeping my eyes creaseless but didn't necessarily make my eye shadow pop. This doesn't come on completely clear on my skin (ELDW Bronze) it has a beige tint but calms down once it's smoothed out. It can be expensive purchasing it by itself off of Too Faced or Sephora, but I always purchase mine on Ebay or get it in a set from Too Faced. The bottle also lasts very long I've had it for over a year and have used it almost every day and still have some left.

Love love love shadow insurance! I've used many primers over the years and never found one that works as well. Smashbox, Nars, Primer potion... This one actually makes my eye shadow stay put and for hours. I recently also, purchased the one in Candlelight which works just as well, but has that subtle shimmer to it that you can wear it alone as an 'eye shadow' by itself. My morning work schedule is from 7 to 5- which means wake up at 5 get home at around 6. By the time I get home, my eyeshadow still looks like when I first put it on. The packaging is cute and even though its not clear so as to see how much product remains, I've used one up till there was absolutely nothing left- kind of squeezing it like a bottle of toothpaste. I would suggest though, that when you go to use it everyday, squeeze the product out slowly- there's sometimes a bit of watery stuff that comes out, or sometimes, product from last use will remain in the dispenser and shoot right out in a big glob. I have told everyone I know about shadow insurance! Would love to see it maybe become a little cheaper- the amount you get is small- but I will continue to repurchase.

I was so prepared to love this but somehow I must be allergic to it. My eyes started to feel puffy once I put it on and its still swollen 2 days after :(
Stating this, as insane as I am. I'm going to try this again.

I've been using this primer for about 1.5 years now and love it! I've tried just about all name brand primers recommended to me, even the most expensive, but nothing would stop my eyeshadow from creasing really bad. This primer has never creased on me. I put it on in the morning and my makeup will not budge 'til I remove it at night and even then it's still a little struggle to take off... but that's a good thing! It's a soft creamy base with no harsh smell, does sometimes separate and seem runny, but nothing a quick shake of the tube won't fix, it goes on smooth and dries in seconds, plus it's never irritated my sensitive skin. I definitely recommend this to girls with oily lids to at least give this a try and hopefully it works for them as it did for me!

This stuff is great. Have tried many many eyelid primers and they always eventually creased on my oily lids.
I put this under my eyeshadow in the morning, and it's still on at night when it's time to take my makeup off.
I've even showered before removing my eye makeup, and when I get out, my eyeshadow is still in place, and not smudged at all!
I love the creamy texture that just glides onto my eyelids.
Will definitely be buying this again.

Best primer ever!

There really isn't much to say about this. It does what it promises! All the eye primers I tried were big disappointments. When I got my hands on a sample size of Too Faced Anti-Crease, I didn't have high hopes. But it turned out to be the best thing I ever tried! Creasing shadows no more! <3

I bought a tube of this maybe 1.5-2 years ago, and I loved it in every way as it kept my eyeshadow on my extremely oil lids for very long time periods (even almost 24 hours on one occasion!). I dont know what possessed me to stop and go buy Mac's paint pot, but whatever, I started using that. One day I had to be out and about for such a long time that I knew Mac's eyeshadow primer would begin to crease on me, so I pulled out this same old tube of Shadow Insurance, squeezed some out, mixed it up with my fingers (since the oils had started to break apart after that long) and used it. The eyeshadow did not come off at all! I had it on from about 8am to 3 am and it did not even have a hint of a crease-that's how amazing it was! The eyeshadows had not budged at all from their spots, had not travelled down, everything looked like new.
I will buy a new bottle as soon as i finish this one

I was so scared of buying this product!!
Given the fact that where i live there is no sephora or qvc or walgreens or ulta or pretty much anything.. too faced was one of the few brands they sold near me .
I would of prefer to buy the UD primer potion but since i needed a primer ASAP i could afford to wait to order it online.
So i went for the 2nd most hyped about product.
( I have very very VERY oily lids that make powder and cream eyeshadows go away in 3 hours.. even color tattos, paintpots and stuff like that)
I got to say that im very pleased with this!!
It has a more watery consistency that a cream eyeshadow so with a tiny amount you blend it all over your lid.
PROS

- Nice tube that wont break
- Makes my eyeshadow last for an estimate 8 hours
- you dont need much product

CONS

- kinda expensive
- after 4 to 5 uses you will need to shake it up a little bit before applying or you will end up with liquid stuff all over your lid
- watery consistency, if it were more dry it would help oily lids to grab the eyeshadow for longer amount of time.

I would buy it again because it WORKS and have tried so many things before finding one that actually works.

Loooove this stuff!! It really helps eyeshadows (low or high end) go on smoother and last all day. It actually works as advertised by Too Faced in that it does intensify the colors of their own eyeshadows. I find it really doesn't have that same effect with other brand eyeshadows though. I have the one in the light blue bottle that has a yellow tone to it and the yellowness cancels some of that reddish purple look on my eyelids. My eyelids are not oily at all so I cant say how it holds up against that. I believe UDPP is the #1 pick for oily lids but I havent tried it since I'm not oily. I swatched UDPP on my hand once and it literally seeped into every crack in my hand (so def not for dry skin)

Anyways, the best trick I learned abut this product was from one of my fave youtube beauty gurus lovemelisamichelle when she used some eye primer underneath her eye. So I tried that with this and it works awesome!!! I have very dark under eye circles and again, the yelllowness cancels some of that out but it really helps my concealer go on smooth and last all day!!! its a miracle.

I wear contacts and have allergy eyes so my eyes water a lot and I rub them. Also, one of my eyes sits in my socket slightly further back and this increases the dark shadow there and that same eye also has some light freckles on the ocular bone which also creates a darker effect that drives me nuts cause the other under eye looks lighter :( This product helps the concealer cling, go on evenly and stay so much better. It worked super great with a Sonia Kashuk stick concealer but that tends to look dry under my eyes after a long day. I've been using Maybelline Fit Me concealer under my eyes for a week and it glides over the primer and lasts pretty darn good too. (Not as long as the drier stick concealer but I'm still happy with the combo)

Side note - if you have allergies to bismuth oxychloride then dont apply this to close to the lash line. I am sensitive to bismuth and it made my eyes (both upper & lower lids) really itch at the lashes when I worked it in. Now I stop right before the lash line and no more itchies. Porblem solved!

Overall, I think this is a definite must-have in any makeup kit, you will get more bang for your buck out of any eyeshadow, and I will for sure buy this again.

Too Faced Shadow Insurance Anti-Crease Eye Shadow Primer is the BEST that I have tried! HG for me!

I have very dry skin but, oddly enough, oily lids so putting on eyeshadow without a primer is a total waste of time for me. Any eyeshadow WILL crease in two to three hours max on me.

To let you know what I have compared this against, each product several times over a two month or more period in a variety of weather conditions and settings (humid, out in rain, warm 70 degree weather to cold below 20 degree weather):

Tarte Clean Slate 360 12-hr smoothing eye primer
Smashbox Photo Finish Lid Primer
Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion
......

I tried the following eyeshadows with ALL of the above primers:
.....
L.A. Colors quads and 12 packs (Yes, $1 Eyeshadows from the $ Tree)
Cover Girl Eyeshadows
Too Faced Eyeshadows
Smashbox Eyeshadows
Urban Decay Eyeshadows
......

All of the above eyeshadows showed the longest wearability with the Too Faced Shadow Insurance and the Urban Decay Primer Potion. Tarte Clean Slate just did NOT hold up time after time even in the most ideal weather conditions and ANY eyeshadow creased after about 4 hours with it on.

The best depth of colour and pigmentation was achieved with Too Faced Shadow Insurance. The problem with Urban Decay Primer Potion is that it is a somewhat darker glowing almost light salmon type colour and I noted that it acually fought with and would subtly change the colour of many eyeshadows put on over it and not necessarily in a good way.

The above are ALL "nice" primers. All good in the sense that they all extended the wearability of my eyeshadow to some extent. However, only Too Faced Shadow Insurance extended the wearability of ANY eyeshadow tried with it from 16 to 24 hours even if I SLEPT with the eyeshadow on (yeah, had to really see how it would hold up if I actually slept with the eyeshadow on, not that I really recommend this).

Too Faced Shadow insurance is a nice light slightly tacky neutral beige that does not fight with the colour of any shadow put on over it. This is its chief advantage over Urban Decay Primer Potion.

This product is $20 for an 11 Gram (.35 oz) tube at Sephora or Ulta. You CAN get a better deal on eBay but I suggest sticking to the "travel" sizes. They are .17 oz and two of these will make 0.34 ounce (which is almost a full size tube). I've bid on and gotten two for around $11 with shipping when I was lucky. And this was authentic product, compared side-by-side with the actual product from Sephora.

I once bought a "Full Size" tube on eBay for $11.99 and it was FAKE. I put a small amount on my hand and a small amount of the known authentic product (from Sephora) next to it. The fake product was light beige in colour and runny in consistency. It looked like a cheap foundation makeup. The real product was a visibly darker beige and thicker in consistency. It did not run on my hand. I contacted the seller with this information and she immediately refunded my money. However; she insisted that it was just "2011 stock". She is STILL selling this crap on eBay and still occasionally gets a neutral (as I gave her) or negative Feedback for a "FAKE". Sadly, many people do not realize that they are getting a fake and probably just think that the product does not work well. So Buyer Beware.

I've found a new love with this primer. Before I used Urban Decay's Primer Potion but it started irritating my eyes. The Shadow Insurance isn't as thick as Primer Potion, but my eye shadows come out much more vibrant. Also, my eyes haven't had a bad reaction from it yet. I like that it comes in a tube and I plan on repurchasing when I run out.

I have crease-less eyelids, also known as monolids so it's hard to find any eye products that stay on my eyes. This primer helps my eyeliner and eyeshadow stay on all day and makes the eyeshadow colors more vibrant. However, I would never buy it for it's retail price simply because it's overpriced. I always buy this from eBay from the price range $8-$15. And if you don't use it for a while the primer separates so when you squeeze the product out the primer and some liquidy water comes out.

This primer works better for me than the Urban Decay one. It isn't as greasy and doesn't crease. Shadow goes on smoothly and stays fresh all day!!

Definitely love this primer! I've tried Urban Decay's original primer potion and Benefit's Stay Don't Stray and still think Shadow Insurance is my favorite! It holdS my eye shadow in place and only creases slightly towards the end of the day (after 8+ hours). Only downside? It doesnt come with an applicator...but regardless, I will definitely buy this again!

This is a great primer, I can't say if it's the best out there but it's definitely high up there. I used this at 9 in the morning and my eyeshadow was still in place by 10 at night. Of course it creased just a little due to my oily eyelids but it did a hell of a lot better job than Urban Decay Primer Potion and Mac Painterly. I personally would not buy this again because I want to try Laura Mercier Eye Basics but if I don't end up liking any other eyeshadow base, then I would go for this one again.

This is the best anti-crease eye shadow product that i have ever used! It applies very smoothly, does not cause any irritation, dries within minutes, and make-up application goes on flawlessly. Most other primers I have used clump up when i put on eye shadow, and mid day my eye shadow is running off my face. This is a great quality product that can be used daily and will make a difference in the way your makeup looks!

This is a mediocre eye primer, at least for me. It has slightly thinner consistency compared to UDPP, the cream comes in a tube and is skin-colored cream that blends into transparent nothingness on my lids. I have extremely oily lids and this doesnt do much for me. This does enhance the color of the eyeshadows applied on top, but creases after 4-5 hours doesnt stop my lids from oiling up unlike UDPP. My eyeshadows have disintegrated after the 4th hour even when wearing this. Expensive and doesnt work at least on me.... This may work for someone who has non-oily lids. If like me you have crazy oily lids check out UDPP, my HG eye primer.

I LOVE THIS!! Best Primer ever! It keeps shadow on, isn't heavy, doesn't cake, doesn't alter the shade of the shadow, even great to use under the lower lashline for extra insurance for liner and shadow.

Can't live without this primer! A full sized tube lasts me months! I use only a tiny bit under my eye shadow every day and it lasts ALL DAY in fact it looks exactly the same when I take my makeup off at night as it does when I put it on in the morning. It is honestly the only thing I have found that keeps the eye shadow on my oily lids and I will repurchase again and again :D the only slightly annoying thing I found is that the tip of the tube tends to crack around the bottom but this isn't a big problem for me.
