This is my everyday mascara--simply because it is the lesser of evils. If I watch the ads, I can usually get it on sale for around $5. It darkens, thickens, and helps retain the curl. However, it is also difficult to apply: The mouth of the bottle is too wide, and the brush is thick and holds too much product. You have to work at scraping just enough of the excess mascara off the brush onto the mouth of the bottle to keep a wet-edge while applying. Also, the mouth of the bottle and the brush require frequent cleaning.
I can only wear one coat of mascara; if I wear more, it looks ridiculous. If this mascara dries even slightly before I separate my lashes, I get clumpy, flaky, spider lashes.

I think this mascara sucks. I don't doubt the voluminizing effects of it. I mean, I've tried putting on several layers and it definitely looked like fake lashes. BUT!!!! It flakes, crumbles, clumps, and it doesn't keep my lashes curled, it just straightens it!! The volume doesn't last either, because it started crumbling off!!

everyone said this stuff would be great, but in my opinion, it wasn't that amazing. It gave me really long lashes, but it clumped. when i was done getting all the clumps out with the comb, they were back 2 their normal length.

I also use Lancome's Definicils, but this is so much less expensive and makes my eyelashes look just as awesome. I've tried Great Lash as well, but it just didn't do anything for me. Definately worth trying at less than $5 you really can't lose.

Think I've found my HG mascara. I've tried ALOT of mascara and this is the best so far. Love the thick brush. I already have long, thick lashes so I am most concerned with clumping and this one doesn't clump at all and def helps my eyes *pop*. Great price too - $4 at Target. Don't waste your money on dept store brands.

I always have people complimenting me on my lashes and asking what type of mascara I use. It's of course Voluminous! I have tried other brands but it's all wimpy. It doesn't clump as long as you know what you are doing. I've tried the pink and green Maybelline brand (is it Great Lash?) and just don't understand why it's so popular. Without Voluminous, I have light, sparse lashes. With Voluminous, they are lush, black, long, and curvy.

I had heard over and over what a wonderful mascara this is, so I decided that I had to try it. I must say that i really like the curved brush, but it might be just a little too fat. It is quite runny and smudgable when you first apply it though. I have to wait about 5 minutes before i can blink my eye, i have to close my eyes toher wise my loooong lashes (that it gives me, good thing about it) will smudge onto your lid. Besided the drying problem, it is very good, lengthens well, and is pretty good at thickening. And there is little clumping, as long as you don't drown your lashes in it. :P

PRODUCT: L'oreal Voluminous Mascara...PROS: Separates & Makes lashes super long & thick; doesn't cake when applying more than one layer; ingenious dense brush for easy application as well as grabbing all those little lashes; keeps lashes feeling "soft"; looks natural: No Spiders here! packaged well; pretty Cheap....CONS: NONE....OVERALL: THE BEST MASCARA I HAVE EVER TRIED!!! A staple!

I've tried TONS of different mascaras, both high and low end, and I always come back to this one. When it's brand new, I dab the excess off on a paper towel before using and it really helps cut down on any clumps I might have otherwise gotten.

This is my HG day mascara. I've used it since high school and though I may stray, I always wonder why I did. It gives just enough drama without being obscene and I've never had trouble with it flaking. I love this stuff!

Love it!
I use this every day and have tried ohthers but just can't get the same look as with this...I get lots of volume and seperation - guess I just got used to using it as I see others found it thick but I love it. I don't have time to sit and layer mascara - I need fast thickness without looking "Tammy Faye" This does the job!

This is my all-time HG mascara. Leaves my lashes thick, long, and *soft* (unlike a lot of mascaras which leave them sticky and/or stiff, both of which I hate). A couple coats of this and people ask me if I am wearing fake lashes! Love it. Have repurchased several times and will continue to!

I have used this mascara forever, but went through a phase where I thought I should spend more on mascara, and tried all of the department store brands thickening mascaras (lancome, estee lauder, clinique, etc). They were good, too, but really no better than L'Oreal. I do think all of the thickening mascaras "clump" just a bit, actually, and I'd rather not spend $10-15 more for an equally effective product, when L'Oreal does the trick!

This is my HG mascara. I'd like to whip out something a little more chic looking, but it thickens, darkens, and doesn't smudge. I can wear it without any other eye makeup and still look good on days I'm late.

This is one of my HGs! I've tried lots of mascaras (bourjois, clinique, maybelline, sephora, jane, lancome) and this is definately the best for the dramatic, but wearable look. I have medium length/not very thick lashes. I am in LOVE with the thickness that this adds. I use it in black. It does get a little clumpy when you apply it but its nothing a lash comb wont fix. Definately a good mascara, especially since I got it on sale for $4.99!

A good mascara. Probably the best L'Oreal makes. Nice volume and length. Doesnt seem to clump or flake. Not my fave, but pretty good and for the price it is just as good as most high-end mascaras. Ugly packaging.

It is very thick, and it seems to last a long time. It does tend to clog up and get messy at the top, and the mascara itself is messy. But overall a pretty good product.

i have the waterproof, i'm not sure if it's actually waterproof because something kept running under my eyes, but that could have been liner. it really did build volume, i have very tortured eyelashes and this revitalized them. looked like i had a lot more lashes than i do =) and it lasts sooo long -- lush lashes for 14+ hours, no joke. it didn't totally come off with m/u remover, even lasted a bit through my hour-long shower!, so i had nice lashes even when i went to sleep! overall i am having good experiences with this mascara.
